Caller ID showed the number, but the name was "UNAVAILABLE". I googled the area code: Texas. I called it, but heard an operator recording saying that the number is no longer in service.

Pre-recorded. Hung up when I heard it was prerecorded.

So I called the number, a woman answered and I asked if they were affiliated with DISH in any way. The woman said, "no, we're a notart sevice co" or something along those lines. I politely apologized that I must have dialed the wrong number, and hung up. 20 min's later, I dialed back from a different phone # and the (949) 553-1579 was disconnected.

Got a prerecorded call from these Pukes. I stayed on the line long enough for someone to pick up, who identified himself as "Travis" - from "Customer Operations" or some such BS. I tried to get more info pretending to be an interested customer, but he hung up right away.

I called my phone provider, McLeod USA and asked them if the had more info - all they could tell me was that is was a cellphone registered to "Direct Dish" in Santa Ana, CA.

If anyone can figure out who this c*cksucker is, count me in for the blanket party!!!

What's the deal with this?

Got a call from these jerks last night around 8pm MST. I told them I was on the DNC list and I would be reporting them to the atty gen. Before it was over, the guy on the other end called me a "cum guzzler" and followed it up with "guzzle, guzzle, guzzle..."
It was unreal.

I did register a complaint with DNC.

Interesting thing..the Google ad at the top of this page is for a free promo offer from DishTV. Makes you wonder, doesn't it??

Received an automated phone call from them on Thursday, 3/8/2007 at 7:10 PM PST.

Options given were "Press 1 to speak with a representative." and "Press 3 to be taken off the list.".

We have been registered with the Federal Do Not Call list for some time. Since the responsibility falls upon the caller to maintain compliance with the Federal Do Not Call list; I did not answer, and I reported the incident to the DNC list.

It seams to me that the company is guilty of fraud for telling one of their victims that he had "violated Federal law" by answering the phone and not informing the solicitor about being registered for the list!

I am not the person calling you using this number. I moved from 15650 Witt Pl #4106 Addison, TX 75001 in October 2005 which is prior to the reported phone calls. Upon moving in October 2005, I cancelled my phone service at (972)385-0433. I have no affiliation with and have never had any affiliation with Direct Dish, EBN, or JSR and I have never called people in any telemarketing efforts regarding TV or satellite TV equipment. I contacted the AT&T legal department after speaking with the Addison Police Department regarding this matter and hopefully they will get it resolved. I hope that they catch the person who is calling and annoying everyone using my old number.

Called me tonight at 6pm. Hung up, picked up to dial *69 and got their number that way. Filed complaint with donotcall.gov

Caller ID gave this number. They called on a phone number that we only use for outgoing calls and we are on the DNC registry. No message was left on our machine. Will report to the FTC.

Pushed "1" to get an agent on the line. When I started to say "No, I am on the Do Not Call list" they immediately hung up. Suspect a scam. Reported to the FTC via the link on the Do Not Call Registry.

It started with the recorded message. I pressed one and was passed to an operator. It was a crowded ops center as I heard at least three other operators taking calls in the background.

Finally asked him his name, and he said he didn't have one. Then I asked for someone who had a name. Then he got defensive. Then I hung up.

Not exactly the kind of business I would trust.

Just got a call from this number 972-385-0433 at 12:44pm Central time. Name was Direct Dish on my caller ID. I am on the do not call regestry.

Well, I got yet another call from these geniuses today (see 2/11 for my last entry). I'm still on the DNC List (never left it). Morons.

If you look up Jamie Hartley TX in google, one may find two residential listings for Jamie Hartley on the fringes of Dallas. Putting in directions from that address to the Addison address makes it plausible that this chap has a nice short commute of 7.3 miles - so perhaps that is him.

Call March 6 1030AM. When I answered I figured I would push one and try to get a manager - the kid wouldn't even give me a return phone number in case I got disconnected. They hung up on me :)

Caller ID showed it from Texas, but no message left in voice mail (a 5 ring sequence before getting to the vmail may be a deterrent). Anywho's Reverse look up shows the number as Direct Dish in Santa Ana, California, but area code 972 is definitely from Texas. A DNC listing was ignored.

Called today at 1:48 p.m. We are on DNC... it was automated same as everyone else says, just hung up after a few seconds. I hit *60 and followed the prompts to block this number.

Received pre-recorded message and the liar I talked to when I pressed 1 said he was near Cheyenne WY, right. Upon pressing for more information, he hung up on me.

Automated call - I *69'd them and asked the person who answered what their number was - they hung up! I am already on the DNC list and will be reporting them.

I Received an automated call and was asked to select 1 to talk with life person.

He said that for $49.00 I could get 8 sets hooked up to Direct Dish, get Two free movie channels including HBO Including dvd recorders. When I ask him about HD TV he said it would cos4 $40 more.

When I told him that I was on the do not call list he told me I violated Federal law because I did not say immediately I was on do not call list. Therefore my name would be take off the do not call list and I would be receiving thousands of call.

Recieved an automated call told to press one to recieve a large screen TV. When I asked for the company's name, the man who answered hung up.

Complain to the FCC, it is against the law to knowingly harass people. They get your number by buying your number from someone else. If you register for a car at the mall, they will look to people who are vulunerable to free offers with those who consistently register.

When my wife responded in an enthusiastic manner, the caller called her a nigger and hung up.

EchoStar said it terminated a relationship with independent retailer JSR Enterprises in Santa Ana, Calf., as a result of the satellite TV company's internal investigation of consumer complaints alleging violations of telemarketing laws. The alleged violations reportedly took place in Missouri. According to Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon, JSR Satellite Enterprises requested a copy of Missouri's No Call database but was cited in multiple complaints after receiving the list.

These asses went through a 1-2 month period of time last fall where I got a call about every 3rd day, now they're back at it. I have been on the DNC list since the day it was created as well, but that doesn't seem to stop these fools.

I got a call offering a free four room satellite setup. I stayed on the line past the recording and asked POLITELY how to be taken off the list. I was immediately hung up on. When I called the number back it was called JSR Corporate office adn it said the voicemail was full.

I too got a call from this outfit. 8pm my time, I didn't answer - but a voice mail was left - a recording offering to give me $1500 worth of satelite equipment. Press 1 to talk to a rep, or press 2 to be removed from the list..... I too am on the goverment DO NOT CALL list. This really pisses me off.

The reason EBN Financial is so defensive is because they have this fraud to hide. Any legit company would dismiss this as proposterous and not need to defend themselves. They monitor this site probably for a reason and now there is some due heat on them. This is an open forum, so make up your own mind. My facts are from putting my foot down on these people. I got a call one evening and had started to record my calls to keep record and have proof, then i ordered a system and cancelled before the install, but when I called once to the parent company, i asked the retailer name. EBN is who they supplied. That is pretty hard evidence in my eyes. I am in the middle of a class action suit from a firm in Washington DC, that targets this company and a few more that have called in the past few months. They contacted me after I filed a complaint with the AG. Watch out EBN. Keep the complaints coming so we can stop these pests one at a time or search out a anti-telemarketing lawyer.

PS. Google EBN Financial and you will find out that they have violated the law in the past and have been fined. They have been proved guilty in the past.

Someone claiming to represent EBN emailed me about eric's comment on 2007-01-19, "The published accusations about EBN is baseless and its methods of conducting business is false and without any factual or legal merit."

I advised they make a comment here explaining to people that it is false, but I'm not sure they understand the concept of this site, so I'm doing it myself to help them out.

EBN didn't like something eric said. Read both sides, do your own research, and decide for yourself because we can't always trust what people say.

i did some digging and this is the work of a company called EBN Financial, and they do business under other names constantly. they are based in Tustin, CA. They operate this telemarketing through other companies for their dialers. the company number to the office is 8009422407. they do press one messages to keep from getting detected. they are secretive and only respond to District Atty complaints or Dish Network or Directv Complaints. send complaints to David.Moskowitz@echosphere.com

The calls have come in many times in one week. Even though I have expressed many times for them to take me off the calling list, they just speak to rude that it makes me mad and I cuss them out! I am reporting to the DO NOT CALL database...again.

I had the same problem and results. Based on the comments on this webpage, I'm not going to take action. Unfortunately, these types of scams can never be stopped. Just like the Energizer Bunny.

I get satisfaction by immediatly adding these nonsense calls to my SELECTIVE CALL REJECTION list ... My phone company provides this feature with my phone service. Local #'s can be added manually ... long distance #'s can ONLY be added by following the prompts after getting the phone call. To access this feature thru my phone service I dial *60. If your phone company provides this feature, use it. Check in your phone directory under Products & Services.

Although I get nuisance calls from new #'s, I am slowly, but surely, fighting back. I have 10 #'s on my list and the frequency of calls from new #'s has diminished.
