The phone is ringing, and I don't recognize the number,
All Caller ID says is, "NAME UNAVAILABLE".
Please help me figure out who is calling and what they want

called on my cell phone. that is off limits.
I have reported this number, along with several others this company uses, to the national Do Not Call registry. The company apparently just switches to another telephone bank and starts the calls again. I've called the number they've left and opted out of each number, but the calls keep coming. How frustrating.
Trisha, I hope your boss at that Consumers Affairs Department did not teach you to send complaints and lawsuit threats to open forums where your intended target will never read them. Try following my advice from 2.5 weeks ago, echoing what Jolene and Scott have already done.
Fin Cards Service
if your company call my home again, I worked for the Consumers Affairs Department
I will personally see that your company is prosecuted.
Same recorded message from yet a different number. Guess they can't be put out of business as it would affect the unemployment numbers. Reporting this one to the FTC as well.
Left no message.
I answered and then pressed 1 after getting the same old message from Ann about lowering my interest rate for about the 100th time. I asked which credit card they could help me with. They said MasterCard and Visa. The guy asked if I had at least $5K in credit card debt and an interest rate of at least 10%. I said yes, but I'd have to check the interest rate. I asked him to hold while I found my statement. Then I put the phone down and ignored it. He finally hung up after nearly 8 minutes. Its nice to waste their time since they have wasted so much of mine.
didn't answer - no message left
recorded message offering to lower my interests rates. Why doesn't the Government stop these calls, I file a complaint but "card services" is still in business.
No one there when I answered the phone. That number is now is my PhoneTrayFree software. The computer will answer it from now on.
The only reason these criminals still operate is because they bribe Congressmen to prevent the FTC from prosecuting them. Don't reelect ANYBODY on November 6.
I didn't answer: I don't know anyone in Gresham, Oregon.
When I pressed "1" I immediately got a live person. I said I did not want... and he immediately hung up on me. I called back and got a recording that asked me to press "1" if I wanted to be removed from the list. Of course I pressed 1 and immediately got a message that it would take 24 hours. I hate these scum!
This is a scam. Call was reported and claim filed with donotcall.gov Caller identified the company as Consumer Credit Group and then hung up.
This is a recording from the same stupid company that I have asked to stop calling me at least 14 times over the past several months. Now they no longer give you an option to opt out and when you do press the number to speak with someone, as sooon as you tell them to remove you from their call list they hang up on you!
**** BEWARE **** CAUTION **** CREDIT-CARD SCAM ****
This company is collecting all of your credit card information: amount owed, interest rate; card issuer; credit card number; credit card experation date and 3-digit code. They are collecting and saving as much information on you as they can each time they call and speak to you.

The federal Do Not Call registry ''does its job'' only when everyone concerned does theirs. DNC is not a regulatory body and not a magic shield. It is a LIST which telemarketers must reference. Complaints to that channel are of value when violators like these credit reprice scammers are found and prosecuted, which the criminals make as difficult as possible. *Your* job is to report violations of the Telemarketing Sales Rule every time. Take your gripes to the FTC and attorneys general and be patient.
Here's what happened to one rogue call center in Atlanta back in November when the complaint heat turned up:

Just how many times do we have to answer these unsolicited calls before Do Not Call does it's job?
Looks like I am not alone. Will use call block.
Left no message, I don't answer when I see the caller ID. Will block the number but that does no good, they will just call from another one. "Do Not Call" is a joke!
This co. con'ts. to call me despite my 3 nice requests for them to stop since I have been on the Do Not Call Registry for almost a yr.
Now I am reporting them & asking for reimbursment & that they be fined: because when I wait to get a person to ask them to stop calling this # they always hang up on me!-after bothering me
I did not answer this unwanted call
Their phone message said they had left several courtesy calls to reduce my credit card interest. When I asked the lady how they got my phone number, she hung up. How wonderful.
Call hang up at 1210 pm PDT.
Multiple calls with no message left on machine
Idiots.
