How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Didn't answer phone and they didn't leave a message, then 2 days later got a call from FL again, and I don't know anyone from that state.
Will only identify themsevles as "Account Services" and hang up at the slightest hint that you're not going to play their game. Can't fathom anyone actually giving a company like this their credit card info, it's far too shady.
It's a recording that tells you to press 1 for more info and to speak to a rep, which I did and and then waited for several minutes. Finally got a live rep on the phone so I told her to remove me from her call list and she hung up on me. I have no recourse here b/c I don't even know who the company is and the number on caller ID doesn't even work. This is unfair. Isn't there anything we can do?

Don't call the number back; they disguise their phone number. The caller is seeking your personal information, probably for the purpose of identity theft. We owe nothing to credit card companies, so I know this isn't legitimate.
Keep calling every week or so I am on no call list, from what I can tell is Gov. does not follow up
Re: cedit card debt. I have tried to push do not call again button #2 but they still keep calling - at least 5 times in the last month.
I pressed the button to talk to them and they hang up on me.
Couldn't someone sue them for invasion of privacy or harrassment?

I received this call on my home phone on 9-10-08 at 10:56 am with no message left, no identifying information other than the number itself. I called back and it was a disconnected number.
called about credit card debt....they call all the time...give em a good cussin...and they hang up...but eventually call back another day....with another cussin....kill these bastards....
I called this number back 2 hours after it called me and it said that it was out of service!
They said they were Kay Jewelery.
