I am posting here the following post from another web site in hope that people will contact this police chief who is willing and able to strike a blow against these criminal telemarketers making the "Heather with account services" calls about lowering your credit card interest rate.

Fayette Police Dept., Iowa - 12 Apr 2008
I am the Chief of Police in Fayette, Iowa and have received calls from this number. I am willing to pursue criminal charges, but am appealing to those who have been called to forward any information on this number to me. These types of fraudulent companies need to be removed from our society.

My email address is fayettepolice@mchsi.com

2008-05-29 20:30:18 UTCTM

These criminal telemarketers illegally leave fake information on your Caller ID (hence why some of the companies who you think are the ones calling really are not). The only way to stop them from calling you again and again (using different spoofed Caller ID info each time) is to report them using their real identities. Information on how to do this can be found at the only web site whose focus is to do just that: heatherwithaccountservices.com.

2008-03-27 01:14:49 UTCHeather

No, not the Heather that keeps calling me but they've called us several times, cell and land line. I've gotten numbers from the UK and recently the 305-758-9297. I called the Operator to find out why the number was disconnected but she said it was just a telemarketer. I had a feeling it was some sort of scam so I always hang up.

2008-03-27 00:38:00 UTCGaye

recording (male) said to press 1 to lower our interest rate to 6.9% on our credit card or press 2 to remove our number from future calls. It doesn't say what credit card and we keep getting call backs.
Tried calling back and number is dissconnected?
305-758-9297 is another number with same recording in a woman's voice.

2008-03-26 04:34:39 UTCwhocares

Forien scamsters Im sure.

When dialed back, the # is disconnected meaning they are using a fake caller ID.

Nothing the US government can do to them.

No sense reporting them.

These assholes WOKE ME UP !

I wish we would nuke freaking Nigeria & those poor countries who thrive on scamming americans.

2008-03-26 01:30:16 UTCAVENGER

LEFT NO MESSAGE - IF YOU GOT A CALL FROM THEM AND GOT A TELEMARKETER PLEASE REPORT IT, THEY ARE BRAKING THE LAW.

2008-03-26 01:17:47 UTChaus

i called back the number and it said it was disconnected

2008-03-26 00:55:06 UTCEvan

Got a recorded message about a warranty extention for a car. Waited for a real person and I fished for some info on them. She caught on and hung up.

2008-03-26 00:28:29 UTCChad

I got the auto warranty message. Hung up, then called the number back (954) 370-6846. It has been disconnected/no longer in service. I don't know how they are re-authoring their caller ID, but I am sure that they are phishing.

2008-03-26 00:17:56 UTCauto_owner

I got a call from this number saying, "your auto warrantee has been or is due to expired. Press 1 to speak with a representative; press 2 ......" After I pressed 1, a female directly asked me , "what's your car model?" I replied, " which company is this?" I was immediately hung off. Suspicious! I looked up this number, 954-370-6846, and found this website.

2008-03-26 00:04:13 UTCOut of area

Same as the others "Heather" called.
Voicemail BS - option 2 etc

2008-03-26 00:00:33 UTCKisha

Tried to call the number back. A recorded message comes on saying the number is out of service.

2008-03-25 23:36:15 UTCDuane

Keep calling me wanting to lower my credit card interest. The second I ask who company is or any questions they hang up on me. Stupid scam.

2008-03-25 22:59:17 UTCRobyn

A recording (woman's voice) said that I had won a cruise. It told me to press 9 to claim my prize or to press 8 to be removed from their list.

2008-03-25 22:05:15 UTCDuckwife2

Recording from account services telling me how lucky i was to be eligible for a short time to have my interest rates reduced. Press 1 for a live operator. He hung up on me when i couldn't understand him. But he said he worked with Master Card and Visa to save me money.

2008-03-25 20:48:57 UTCRuth

received a call from this number a little bit ago. Decided to call it to see who it was when I couldn't get anything from the internet without paying for it. There is a recording that the number is disconnected or not in service. How do you get a call from a disconnected number?

2008-03-25 20:33:59 UTCDushan29

Received call at about 1:20 PM PDT from Ft. Lauderdale, FL...I answered and listened to the recorded message for a few seconds from a female about my credit card account...I hung up almost immediately because it was similar to another call that I received last week which was previously reported under a different telephone number. I filed a complaint at the donotcall.gov

2008-03-25 20:26:16 UTCM

This is a phishing scam. See heatherwithaccountservices.com for more info.

2008-03-25 19:51:00 UTCjas

called to tell me that my auto warranty is coming to an end.
delete...

2008-03-25 19:41:16 UTCConstance M

I cannot tell you how many times I have answered my telephone to hear the same message that has been described over and over by the other folks that have left comments here. This has to be phishing and I sincerely hope no one falls prey to this.

2008-03-25 19:28:54 UTCMe

VM - 03/25/08: Automated call that claimed to be a final notice (offer?) in reference to "your [my] credit card". No institution name given, only an option to connect to an operator. Sounds like phishing, as I am currently listed with the FCC Do Not Call registry. (Re-registered early Feb.)

2008-03-25 18:35:02 UTCAllison

This number called me but I didnt answer. I called it back minutes later and I got a recording that said " you have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service "

2008-03-25 18:21:55 UTCld

I have received numerous calls from this number. When you press "1" and speak to a live person they hang up when you ask the name of the organization.

2008-03-25 17:49:27 UTCjohn

I've never had a credit card in my life and the computer generated call went something like this on 3/25/2008 ~11:00am: "Hello, we're calling in reference to your credit card account. Time is going to expire shortly on our offer to lower the interest rate on your account to as low as 6.5%. Hit #1 on your phone to talk to a representative."
I hit #1 and a person said,"Hello, my name is Heather, how may I help you?" I replied, "yes, I'm wanting to know how to lower the interest rate on my credit card." She paused for 5-10 seconds and hung up. (My voice is very deep and doesn't sound naive at all) I tried to return the call to the number on my caller ID and it was not a working number. I'm guessing a spoofed number. This type of call has been made to my tel.# several times over the past month.

2008-03-25 17:31:24 UTCVirginia

Different number than before, but same company. I decided to try to talk to a live agent, and when I told her I didn't want calls anymore, she just hung up. Tried calling the number shown on ID--it's disconnected.

2008-03-25 17:25:53 UTCtb

This number appeared on my cell phone list as a missed call. There was no message left. I looked here first and did not call back based on the above notes. It appears they are on a fishing expedition today as you will note all of these messages are dated today.....

2008-03-25 17:19:05 UTCFrustrated n SC

Prior Weeks: 407-207-0820 Caller ID= ORLANDO, FL
and now they are using
This Week: 954-370-6846

I reported to DNC list. They do have a "press 2 to have your number removed from our list", but I doubt it works. I suspect they are phishing for your Credit Card number, although they claim to want to lower your interest rate.

2008-03-25 17:08:38 UTCmaddmatt

I received 2 calls today from this same number. I answered both. The first one was the recording about the car warranty and at the end said that I could press 7 to be removed from their list. I pressed 7 and another recording said that I had been removed from their list. 2 hours later I got a call from the same number and caller ID but this time it was about lowering my interest rate on my credit cards (it never mentioned any names). It gave me the option of pressing 2 to be removed from their list, I did and got the same recording as the prior call stating that my number had been removed from their list.

2008-03-25 16:25:26 UTCSean

A recorded message about my credit card info.

I have no credit cards so it had to be phishing.

2008-03-25 15:42:02 UTCPaul2

Prior Weeks: 407-207-0820 Caller ID= ORLANDO, FL
Last Week: 305-654-1842 Caller ID= LAWRENCE SANDRI
and now they are using
This Week: 954-370-6846

Go to the prior weeks for more information.
I record each one for reference and report to DNC list.
They are phishing for your Credit Card number.

2008-03-25 15:29:33 UTCm

no message

2008-03-25 15:28:04 UTCAndy

This recorded message claimed to be from my credit card company and asked me to press 1 to access a deal to lower my interest rate. I suspect they were phishing for personal info or trying to sell me something. I hung up.

2008-03-25 15:14:45 UTCja

I did not answer the call, but the voicemail was an automated menu asking me to press 1 to be connected to a representative or press 2 to be removed from the list. I have filed a complaint with the do not call site.

2008-03-25 14:28:06 UTCtj

an automatic message said "Hi this Heather from account services. We are calling about your current credit card account. There is no problem with your account but it is important you stay on the line..." I hung up. sounds like a sales scam.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
