The phone is ringing, and I don't recognize the number,
All Caller ID says is, "NAME UNAVAILABLE".
Please help me figure out who is calling and what they want

How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

No one else reading this page can ''make them stop calling''. These forums are strictly for call recipients to share their findings. They are NOT direct open channels to the phone bank boiler rooms we comment upon. It was furthermore very unwise to publish your phone number for every harvester to see. Enjoy the new flood of junky callers.
If you can provide a business name you might get a more helpful response. It's fairly common in a commercial telco account for the number on CID to be strictly for outbounds. A political ''barker''call is usually not seeking anyone's feedback anyway. I would try contacting the campaign managers for the candidate to see which call center(s) they've hired, and give all concerned a burning ear. A cease-comm notice to the boiler room may also be needed, sent via USPS Certified with return card.
Whoever this is keeps calling my answering service number and using up several of my minutes that I have to pay for each month. It is a recording advertising for Chris Christie, I've tried to call the number back and it's always busy even at midnight and 2:00am. I have blocked the number and they will just use another number and call again. Please make them stop calling me. 888-410-3334 is the number they keep calling at.
