How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

This info is provided by the public. The odds that someone dials the wrong number by mistake, and that leading to the receiver posting their name here is extremely low. Most of the data provided by this site is with mass-callers who flood the country with unsolicited calls. Then a small percentage of those will provide data here, and that is how you see the info about that number.
But even if somehow everyone who ever misdialed had their info posted here, that info is in the phonebooks, which are online anyways. If there were an extreme case where some sensitive info were unfairly leaked and would likely result in harm to someone, all they have to do is email me and I'll take care of it.
The pictures of the phones are links to buy them on Amazon.com, containing my referrer code. If you buy one, I get a few dollars of the sale. They are the only two products I could find that are somewhat affordable and could help some of the people being routinely disturbed by unwanted callers since they have caller ID blocking functions. The Panasonic one rings once before blocking, and the Uniden one silences the first ring to get the caller ID, then block without any rings. I've been trying to provide actual solutions to the problem for some time now, and this is the best I can do right now. Everything else is too expensive or impractical.
ALERT TO INTERNET USERS>>>DANGEROUS SERVICE...i see pictures of phone with phone block...is this a way to sell advertising to panasonic and uniden in order to sell phones with call block? at the expense of someone who might make a phone call in error and find their unpublished number on the internet for anyone to see? also, someone could report a name and number maliciously...this service has some serious weak spots. PLEASE FIND A WAY TO PROTECT CITIZENS...and people who use this, PLEASE don't report a private name unless you get numerous nuisance calls from that number...PLEASE PROTECT YOUR FELLOW CITIZENS...if we don't watch each other's back, who will!
i don't think this is a fair service...if someone accidently makes a mistake in dialing a number, then their NAME and NUMBER are published for the entire world to see? and if it is YOUR name, there is no contact number to use in order to get your PRIVATE PERSONAL information off the PUBLIC INTERNET??? you need to think the policies of this service. you could get sued for outing someone...i.e. a woman is victim of a rape, the rapist is realeased from jail and googles her name, up pops who called us and IF she has ever accidently dialed a wrong number, there is her name and number for him to reverse search and find the address? if the report is from the name of a private citizen, you should, by default, print "PRIVATE INDIVIDUAL" and only print the name of the caller if it is a BUSINESS!!!!!!!! this is WRONG WRONG WRONG AND COULD cause someone harm!!! think about it!!!
