Some credit collection agency. I have no outstanding debits and the phone number I have has been mine since 1991. It is an electronic voice asking for different people but I can't get through to a human being to be removed from their list. I'm on the do not call list but this hasn't stopped the calls.

debt collector on 20 year old debts and not even mine. keeps calling if you answer

2008-08-08 13:53:38 UTCb. parrish

Recording said "this call is for ???couldn't understand or recognize the name they said but was only one name?? by continuing to listen you are acknowledging you are ?????????." Then I just hung up. We have absolutely no debt and have excellent credit! Just my husband and I live here and the name they stated whatever it was was neither of our names.

This company calls me every day. I am sure they are looking for someone else as I do not have any bad debts.
I just e-mailed their customer service at customerservice@assetacceptance.com
and requested that they take my phone number out of their data base. I wanted this in writing as the National no call list and Texas No call list will take complaints if enough of us write in. National no call will not do anything for just one complaint but will if there are several.
I just found this website with a LOT of complaints about this company.
budhibbs.com
It seems like contacting the state attorny general's office may just help us.

PLEASE EVERYONE, file a complaint Greg Abbott can't ignore ALL of us

tells you to hold on if you are the "prerecorded name"

Really bad that for a collection agency, they can't seem to get a right number for people. Received a call, called back the 800 number left in the voice mail and told them I don't know the person they're looking for and to STOP CALLING. You'd think that they had a brain and could hear that My outbound message says My name and it's so NOT the person they're looking for.

2008-05-14 16:35:46 UTCdsmcd

we have a new number and always get calls for the previous person who had this number who unfortunately did not pay bills on time. I just do not pick up the phone. registered the number with do not call so hopefully some of the nonsense will stop.

Caller asked for John. Told she had wrong number, she abruptly hung up. Rude!!! Suspect a debt collector.

I found free letters on adviceontime.com that you can mail to this a@@holes to get them to stop calling you. They also have an article on how to deal with them. Fight back, they have to respect your legal rights.

CALL ME, AGAIN AND BE-WARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2008-02-20 14:43:43 UTCLee

A pain in the ass, not smart enough to understand 'there is no person here by that name".

2008-02-11 20:40:09 UTCFred

calles two times or more a week at different times of the day useing different numbers. they are a dept collector.

2008-02-05 18:09:00 UTCPsycho Bob

A persistent debt collection agency. When asked to remove your number from their list, they refuse to comply, stating they have no proof that you aren't the person they seek. Threats of lawsuits do not seem to hinder their persistence, and state courts will not even look into the matter. The best course of action is to have your number changed.

2008-01-11 22:39:55 UTCM-F

They call multiple times a day, Monday Through Friday but always during office hours so I am never home to receive their calls, they never leave a message. I'm certain it is concerning a debt of my ex-husbands which he created before our marrige-NOT my obligation per our divorce. When I call to notify them of this I can not get through on the number listed on the caller ID. Very Frustrating.

2008-01-05 17:35:59 UTCCarol

This debt belongs to my step son and his wife.which I have tried to explain. They lived with us for about 3 month six years ago and gave our number so for six years we keep get calls because they just pass these debts on to other agencies. They must owe everyone in the country.

2008-01-05 16:00:16 UTCFH

Just got a message from them but I picked up & hung up in the middle of the message. They said they are a debt collection agency.

2007-12-27 20:09:42 UTCSusan

They've called a few times today and haven't left a message.

2007-12-24 17:09:00 UTCbob

reporting to the TEXAS no call list is a JOKE. this place is a dept collector so by law they can call all they want. EVEN IF IT IS NOT YOU THEY WANT. TEXAS WILL DO NOTHING AND WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO MAKE A COMPLAINT.

AACC 940-295-1782
calles three to five times a week at different times of the day useing different numbers. they are a dept collector. this time their machine was leaving a message on my machine. it said by Continuing to listen to the message I was acknowledging that I was JONE P. (last name with held) . my machine was cut off at that point. Problem is it was a machine talking to a machine. I am not the person they were asking for nor have I ever been that person. I have told them this before but they just keep calling. It appears that because they are a dept collector they can call who they want when they want. The only person that can stop them is the person they want. If you are not that person then you can not stop them.

2007-12-01 21:13:07 UTCBernie

They should leave a message of some sort

AACC is a bad-debt collection firm. It buys written-off obligations from other companies and then attempts to settle with creditors.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
