As mentioned, this is a fund-raising organization and as such is exempt from state and national Do-Not-Call registries. The same exemption holds true for research organizations (media research, market research, polling, etc).
Simply asking the person calling you to take your # off their list typically does very little. You will likely not be called again for that particular campaign, but your phone # may exist in the database for other active campaigns, or be part of the sample base for future campaigns.
In order to actually be put on a company-wide Do Not Call list, you have to pro-actively contact the person in charge of doing so, which means, a phone call to their headquarters and then ask to speak to that person (or someone who would know who that person is).
And it really can take 24-48 hours (or more in some cases). A person has to manually sift through whatever active campaigns are running and see if they can find and remove your phone #. Then they have to update and maintain a separate database that contains the Do Not Call phone #'s. And then all future campaigns have to be matched against that Do Not Call database.
What we have to remember is that there is no law that states these companies have to add you to their Do Not Call database. They are not required to do so. And while some of them don't actually do it, the vast majority of them do, in order to maintain good business practices.

Called 2 times this week and no one was there when we answered

This was someone from the National Republican Party. I know they have my number because I am registered as a republican but I think it's disgusting smear campaigning. Anyway, I hung up. I don't think political parties fall under the do not call registry

It is easy to get taken off, but with any computer system there are bugs upon bugs. Trust me it annoys me just as much to get a hold of someone who requested to get taken off the list as it bugs you. Because not only do I have to do it again. I also give these people my word that I have done it. I did it on my end but I can never be sure if it went through.

Were just people trying to make a living, so just calm down. Some people are sensitive. And why would politician fix a loophole that stopped them from raising money?

Did a bit of research. strategicfundraising.com is the company and it is part of or a customer of the Democratic National Committee (hence the dnc after in the web name). The link above is their DO NOT CALL LIST. You can put in your phone number and last name. They say it takes up to 48 hours to get in their database. I used a phony last name since they have my phone number already. I'll post again (if and) when the calls stop.

As for those who say "call them to remove your number - it's easy". Why should I have to hunt down the number and spend the time and effort. Multiply my time and effort by the millions of other people's wasted time and it is a HUGE loss of human productivity. The phone companies, like the US Post Office, do not want you to opt out of junk mail (or calls) because they make money selling them to you. If I lived in Oshkosh I would exact repayment by doing monetary damage to their premises - in particular I would destroy their telephone/computer equipment.

They have called every day at different times. They are extremely persistent, and we are on the national do not call list.

These people keep calling for my husband who is seldom home when they call. When he is home he refuses to talk to them and they will not talk to me. According to the woman who called today only my husband can put us on the company's "do not call" list. And curiously enough no supervisor was available. There must be something I can do! Incidentally, I consider myself fortunate that someone was on the phone when I answered.

Third call in the 12 noon to 1pm time frame. Third day in a row. No message when answering machine picked up. No one there when you answer and say nothing.

I have been recieving these calls for over a month, sometimes twice or three times a day. I do not answer but have a "do not accept these type of calls" button that I have pushed. They continue to call anyway. I am registered with the Do Not Call list, but obviously it doesn't matter.

I got two calls from this number within a half hour but they did not leave a message.

Strategic Fundraising has a "Do Not Call" list on their database. They say they honor a person's desire not to be called and request your telephone number and last name.

On the do not call list, calls come regardless. What to do? Blow a whistle into the phone!!!!

I work for this company totally legit if you dont want them to call just ask them they will take your name off the list. They get this info from the Rnc Nra ect. All people that are called have in the past gave their info to someone in the rnc nra ect.

Caller indicated his call was for the Republican National Committee. The Do Not Call list allows political calls, but it gets annoying when you get dozens a week. I did call the number Jim Reese indicated and got Strategic Fundraising. The service rep Shaun, was very polite and said they'll remove my number from the list within 24 hours.

2ND CALL FROM THIS OUTFIT. HUNG UP UPON ANSWER 1ST TIME, DIDN'T LEAVE MESSAGE 2ND TIME. I'M ON THE NAT DNC LIST TOO.

Just received a call from them asking for my wife's previous husband who's now no longer with us.

Strategic Fundraising has a website. strategicfundraising.com On the home page of the website is a link to their in-house do no call list. I put my number on the list. It says it takes 24-48 hours to remove it from all the campaigns they have. We'll see.

Update on previous comment: After reading some of the comments here, I called them. I got a recording saying they only do nonprofit and political fundraising, which is why they can disregard the "do not call" lists. However, they gave me the option of having my number added to their own, private "do not call" list. I gave my number, and the recording said it would take up to 48 hours for them to add it to their list. After that, I should no longer be bothered by them. We'll see. By the way, I did this without ever having to talk to a human being.

These people have been calling several times a day for the past couple of weeks. We are on the state and national "Do not call" lists. We have not answered when they've called, so I don't know what they want, though it is probably money. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I'm assuming it's either for something nonprofit or election-related. If not, I'd like to report them.

The dude asked for my husband. When I asked who he was, he replied: "Joe Stone" and said he'd call back later.

Received about 6 calls from this number, caller ID says "Strategic Tele". Took several attempts to talk to them, I would answer, could hear the call center on the other end, then they hung up on me. Turns out it's the NRA, I've let them know that the Do Not Call list means DO NOT CALL - I don't care that political and non-profits are exempt, and remove my support from anyone who calls me. It's not called the "Do Not Call unless you're a politician or fundraiser List" - it's the "DO NOT CALL" list.

I received two calls from this number--once while I was gone, once while at home. I answered the second call---the caller identified himself as being from the Republican National Committee and asked only one question: my thoughts on having Barak Obama or Hillary Clinton elected to the White House.

Last call from Strategic Telemarketing was 9/11/07. Called them that evening at (920) 235-5013 and asked the lady to put me on their internal Do Not Call list. No calls for a week, now. They are a fund raising organization and exempt from the National Do Not Call Registry. You MUST call them and request to be removed from their calling list or the calls will continue. They never leave a message. I got sick of this, so I followed Jim Reese's advice and called (920) 235-5013. I spoke with a guy named Sean, who was more than happy to help and apologized if their calls bothered me. Very professional.

Jim--I'm not as lucky as you. I have called them asking them to stop calling me. Could this be a totally bogus outfit? Calls and asks for my exhusbands name. My # has never been used before and no one knows my exhusbands name. However, he is paranoid and is having me followed by an PI. Just lettin' all you know...

A company that depends on calling people and hanging up on them up to 5 times daily and has an unsatisfactory rating with the Better Business Bureau needs to be put out of business altogether.

Marie, I NEVER give out my cell number to ANYONE but personal contacts. I reserve my cell phone for ONLY personal calls. My land line is used for everything else. They called my CELL phone anyway. They've never called my land line. I just called the number Jim Reese gave me and had an odd experience (see above), but ended up asking NOT to be called on my cell. I am not particularly convinced that it will end now, but I hope so. I have NO clue how they got my cell number, except by random calling. Which stinks!

920 231-0700 is statgic fundrasing. The are a company who you can hire to make calls and fundraise for your org. Both the Democrats and Republicans use them to get funds via telephone calls. The political parties are not requred to the laws on the no-call-list... so, they'll call even if you are on it.

Strategic Fundraising called for the 2nd time today, just as I was reading this. I told the lady as soon as I answered to please take my name of the list. She confirmed that I did not want to receive any more calls from the NRCC (National Republician something something,) sorry for the inconvenience. We'll see if they call again.

Political calls are except from the Do Not Call Registry. To get them to stop calling you, you simply have to answer your phone and request it. You can asked to be taken off all their lists or just the list for that specific client. You can also call back the number and leave the information and that removal is done daily. It is not rocket science; if you do not want to be called you need to tell them. Your name is on their list becuase you either gave support in the past to that client or a similiar client. These people are doing their jobs. Not interested---no problem----just simply tell them.

These guys call my house almost every single business day of the week, EVEN THOUGH WE ARE ON THE NATIONAL CALL LIST. They are abusing a loophole in the law, which allows charitable fundraisers to call you anyway.


It gets to the point now that sometimes when I see their number on my Caller ID, I quickly press answer and hang up buttons on my phone, cutting them off! LOL!

So SBL, because I have to stop what I am doing to answer the phone and I don't get their in time because the computer let it ring only 3 times...is MY fault? and I shouldn't be upset? Ok folks, this is how it works from the inside... It is a fund raising group for political and non-profit organizations, EXEMPT FROM DO NOT CALL LIST! And if you are a loyal Republican or NRA member you would not mind these calls because they keep the machine rolling. HOWEVER, if you want to be removed from the list, please have some respect and just ask to be removed, dont scream and yell like some freak for gods sakes just, listen for the conformation, and voila, its that simple! As for hang ups, no one is "hanging" up on you, it is an auto dialer so if you take to long it goes to the next call, just the nature of the game. No one is calling from some little old ladies house, it is a company based in Wisconcin, Minnisota,Missouri, ect... But number is out of Wis. Corporate office... This is most likely political fundraising, as that is what Strategic Fundraising specializes in. Political fundraising calls are still allowed to call people who are on the national do not call list.

Strategic Fundr has been calling my office number daily for the last two weeks -- finally just started picking up and disconnecting immediately. Unfortunately they still keep calling.

I was screening answering machine messages this morning and this number called--whoever it was just hung up after my machine came on. I understand from reading that they're exempt from Do Not Call list rules (we're on that too) but I wish this wasn't the case and that I didn't have to do work to stop them from calling.

Recieved 2 calls from this number in the last 30 min's. I'm on the DO NOT CALL LIST, why are they calling?

Just received a call from them. Nobody there and when I hit recall the number rang and rang and no one answered.

This number has shown up on my caller ID 22 times in the past two weeks. I am also on the 'do not call' list.

said that they were calling with the republican party. when i told her i was on the no call list, she told me they didn't fall under that. i then told her that i was recording the call and that i was telling her to remove our number from their list and if i recieve another call i will press charges for harrassment and will submit the recorder with her voice to my attorney. i'm sure as she was saying yes mam, she was laughing like "yea right"

I have been getting these calls for over a week now all around the same time including a Sunday. Irritating

Just called and I told the guy, "you know, even if I wanted to donate to your cause, I wouldn't do it because you cold called me at home. If I want to donate, I'll look up the org. online and donate." He apologized and kept going on his spiel. I let him talk for a half minute until he required a response from me, then I said 'yes' and hung up. Yes, I could call a number and have them not call anymore, but I shouldn't have to, so, I'll mess with 'em from now on, I'll answer and talk with them, then at the end hang up. I want to waste as much of their time as they have of mine. grrrrrr

I took Jim Reese's advice, and called Strategic Fundraising at 920-235-5013. Alison, the operator, was very pleasant and understanding, and took my number for their do not call list with no trouble or argument at all. Thanks for the tip, Jim!

They just called MY CELLPHONE. They're entitled to call due to their politically-related affiliation. They STILL have to stop calling if asked to do so.

Asked them not to call...they keep calling...even as late as 9PM EST...they even hang up sometimes when I do answer

Called us. answering machine got it. I have the disconnected line tones at the start of our message. They hung up immediately, called back... machine answered it and they hung up.

This number keeps appearing on our caller ID. We're on Do Not Call List, but they keep calling. We've found that if you let the phone ring twice before picking up, you'll avoid most of these groups.

I have done what good ole Jimmy Reese suggested many times and it does work. Goes to show you the politicans pulled one over on us again. I guess it is "charitable" to give to their campaigns. What part of "do not call" don't they understand? Go figure!

Same deal - I have been receiving a call about once a week for the past month but I don't answer numbers I don't recognize...and they never leave a message. How do I get them to leave me alone?!

Their recorded message identified them as Strategic Fundraising(paraphrased) 'Fund raising organization probably calling with a message from a politition or charity you support' with opportunity to leave phone number and name to be put on their "do not call" list within 48. Number googles as "Bernice Jahnke (920) 231-0700 220 N Westfield St, Oshkosh, WI 54902 ."

I answered this time and it was on behalf of Sen John Mcain!

I've been getting calls from this number almost daily for the last few weeks. Normally I don't answer any calls to my land line, but after reading this page, I answered it. The first time I didn't answer quick enough, and there was no one on the line. The second time I picked up as soon as I saw the caller ID (on the second ring) and I got a person on the phone. I asked them to remove this number from their list, and they referred to me by my last name and confirmed that they were removing me from the "Save the Children" list. I'm guessing this number probably comes up for many different things if they are a general call center that is hired by outside organizations. As Jim Reese said, I think the best thing is to answer the call quickly and tell the person to take you off the list. Answering too slowly, or ignoring the call didn't seem to work for me.

AB & ASK: Why don't you follow Jim Reese's advice (above). ASK, did you ever consider the possibility that Google's record might be outdated, or just wrong? Jim, why do you doubt that they will remove your number from their list? Have you had a bad experience with them before?

Google says this number belongs to Bernice Jahnke out of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. So is Strategic Fundraising even a real company, or just someone trying to scam us from this woman's house?

They're a fundraising group, they don't leave messages. If they hung up on you it was because you got to the phone just as the "wait-for-an-answer" time ran out and they had to call another number. The company is Strategic Fundraising. They are in the phone book if you bother to check. They are located at 217 N Main St in Oshkosh, WI. Their regular office phone number is(920) 235-5013. They do fund- raising for political and non-profit organizations. These two types are exempt from the do-not-call rules. The company will be more than happy to take your number off their internal do-not-call list if you would take as much time to call them and ask as you have wasted by posting ignorant comments on this site. I am on the do-not-call registry. They called. I called them back requesting they not do that anymore. They don't. It's that easy.

They have called everyday,sometimes twice a day, for over a year. Emailed them at their company website to stop now.

When receiving phone calls from a strange number, just ignoring it will not do anything. It is important that if you do not want the phone calls, to answer, and tell them that. Otherwise, according to law, they can call your house up to 5 times a day.

I have received 3 or 4 calls from this number, most recently today. I answered on the third ring (that's how long it took for caller ID to show up), but all I got was a dial tone.
