I nod in grudging agreement with "TornadoWarning", yet point out as always it doesn't hurt to know your rights and defense strategies as an alleged debtor. Might save a whole lotta grief, in fact. Read up on the FDCPA at FTC-dot-gov.

OK, guys. Let's be serious, here. ANYONE that attempts to contact you over the phone that you have never heard of before is either a scammer or collections agency. Scammers often pretend to be collection agencies to get credit cards and other personal information from you. And PLEASE, even if you owe someone something, ALWAYS deal with the company that you owe directly and THEY will point you to the appropriate collection agency if your account has gone there already..........scammers, phishers, con artists are becoming more resourceful and more clever than ever before...such as: a company that promises to hire you and have you interviewed only to get you to "buy in" to a training package ($145) never to see that money again (i.e. Vector Marketing).......or, I love this one: "PROCESS PACKAGES FROM HOME MAKE $400 WEEKLY, then it costs $125 for the supplies,.....REALLY??" How stupid do they think we are??........I feel sad for those who've been swindled.......the economy is bad and people are growing desperate.......BE CAREFUL!!

keeps calling wanting someone i dont even know to call them ive called the 800 number they leave and asked to be removed from there list also called the 919 number it gives you when you look up who they are and spoke with someone that said my phone number wasnt in there system if its not in there system why do they keep calling......

The Auto Dialer has a unique package that dials by name, so if your name is Joe Smith, it will dial every Joe Smith within a given area until they can fish (phish) the information out of the person answering if they found the right person.

Stop calling!!!Take this # off your registrey. Everytime I try calling the # back I get a busy signal.

I believe this is a person trying to obtain card numbers for identity theft purposes. Please do not give them your information!!!

Getting harrasing phone calls from this number. Asking for someone else that keeps giving out my number to businesses for her personal number. I have a problem wieh this women and when I catch up with her; I will bring charges against her.

My phone rang twice with hang ups from 919-821-1799....the third time I let it go to voice mail. The message was from Duke Patient Financial Services & is auto dialed. The number to call back is 866-620-4644. It is not a collection agency. It is the hospital making courtesy calls on valid patient accounts. I explained to the rep about the negative comments online and how the autodialer hangs up so she could investigate on her end.

They call than hang up then call back and leave message. Call back and nothing. Just hangs up.

Called 4 times in quick succession. Tele-Zapper caught them. Finally called by hand and left computer message to call collection agency.

REPORT THIS TO NC DEPT OF INSURANCE - THEY REGULATE COLLECTION AGENCY'S IN NC. Their actions are illegal. DofI will need details of calls. Calls may fall under DO NOT CALL requirements - could cost them big $$$.

I never answered as it is an unknown number to me. I ONLY answer numbers which I have programmed into my phone or which I know to be familar.

I received a call from this number. Answered it. It was a recorded message stating that my call would be answered in the order it was received. After 15 minutes I was disconnected without ever speaking with anyone.

This is Absolute Collection Service, they do collections for REX Hospital. Part of Duke Healthcare System. They do medical collections.

Get this call at least once a month. Don't understand as we are not in collections on any accounts. Have tried to get my phone number off the list, not yet so far.

I received a call from this number on my cell. They said, thanks for answering/accepting/calling our automated line. Not sure which word used. The automated voice said it was for me. The lady that come on afterwards asked who I was, I only said "who you were calling". She said thank you and hung up. So what was that all about?

This number has called numerous times for about a year now off and on. It is a recording asking for a Dwight Potts. I have never heard of him. I tried to push 0 to speak to someone and it hung up. I have tried to call the number back and it is busy.

If you go to Absolute Collections website, they can't even spell the word DEBT correctly... how is it then, that they are smart enough to even dial numbers? Wish they weren't.. then we wouldn't have to deal with them.... I will be severely amused until they call again.... MORONS.

I found out this number (919) 821-1799 is for Patient Financial Services, a number to call is (919) 863-4882. It's not a collection agency, it is a medical billing company that acts like a collection agency.

We keep getting calls from this number, when we try to return the call, there is never an answer or it is busy...Getting very aggravating. Would like to know who is doing this.

If this was a real collection agency they would send you information by mail. It's a fake and a fraud, disregard them.

for those of you who are getting calls about people you dont know....it may be that someone listed a fake number (just a number off the top of their head that wasn't their personal number) so that they couldnt get in touch with them.....they really are looking for those people its not neccisarily true they called your number randomly just that it was the number listed for the said person.

i have recieved several of these calls (actually for me and my ex) they are calling to collect medical bill payments
although i've net been able to pay higher bills before and was threatened to be reported to a collection agency but it never happened until i got a smaller bill (around $100)

This ass**** keeps calling my cell number with the same script as the others above. I just hang up.

They are some sorry ass collectors. I am so sick of these nimrods calling my cell phone. They ask for Tom Kelley EVERYTIME. I have stayed on the line before and advised them that I have had this number for 2 years, and I have told them to quit calling me several times. I hope they never find "Tom". It's hard to believe these idiots are still in business.

~First an automated voice mail from a medical collection agency out of NC~These ppl call where I work, to the main switchboard that I answer for, asking for employees (that don't work there)..or employees(that do work there)but are not allowed to have personal phone calls during work hours. Our company is scrict about that. I tell them all the time that the employees they ask for are either terminated, or not allowed to accept personal phone calls. They laugh and threaten to come down and make me get the employee. I have talked with out legal department and they say I am within my rights to refuse to put the calls through because of departmental policies. Yet, they continue to call, sometimes as many as 10 times a day. Each time they "demand" that I "GET" that person "NOW"! ~~Did it ever occur to them that if the person has such outstanding bills (or their loved one did) that the person has passed away, is still not working because of medical condition, is way behond in bills because of a serious medical condition or the loved one it involves has passed away.~~

This number has started to call my private cell number. I don't give it out. I got a operator calling once, but she hung up on me when i tried to tell them it was a wrong number.

called 3 times in a row back to back, when i tried to call back it said "number not in service" and from my cell phone it was busy, but when i dialed are code 919 first it just rang, and rang.

NOTE: The number reflected on the caller id changes frequently. Make a record of all of the numbers used. Most of them are not real numbers. Often you will see the 919-821-1799 number. Anytime they use a number that is NOT A REAL NUMBER THAT CONNECTS THE CALLER/CONSUMER TO THEIR COMPANY, they are in violation of yet another federal law that prevents them from using DECEPTIVE PRACTICES.

Below is the message that this company's auto-dialer and auto attendant has left on my cell phones voice mail multiple times.
I have been in the collection industry for over 12 years and am agency owner. This company (ABSOLUTE COLLECTION SERVICE) Breaks 4 Federal Laws with the following message as well a couple of mandates. Each violation carries with it a Federally mandated amount for damages as a minimum. It is 6k per agency per violation and 1k per agent per violation. In this case (due to an auto-dialer and the auto attendant) the company is the agency and the agent. I am currently preparing civil litigation against this agency for these violations. If you have received messages from this company and/or have posted a comment here, I would like to hear from you and add you (if you are interested) in the lawsuit. It's becoming a small class action. This company has called my mobile phone 3 times each time leaving a msg for "special raving river" (I kid you not). If they are a collection agency I would like a mailing address so that I may report them to the FTC.

Never leave message, and call several times a day and night

the only way to stop it is to put call block on your phone and block the number. they can contact you through the mail rather than ring the phone off the hook ten times a day!

Toll-free callback number answers as 'patient financial services.' CPN comes from Raleigh, NC and is always busy. Some shitball collection agency indeed!

A machine message, same as the one listed by Richard but for Judy Royale, message was collection agency ACF. I get these calls DAILY, did call their 800 number and demanded they remove number from the list but it has not been done.

Could not get a company name out of them without data, which I did not do. There should be a law against companies not identifying themselves.
