This company continues to call EVEN AFTER I polietly completed thier survey, then aked to be taken off thier call list. They continued to call asking for follow up surveys and again for me to take it all over. I contined to ask they not call and take me off the list. They call about 3-5 times a day. This week alone, I asked twice to be taken off the list. Last night, I began to explain that I have repeatedly asked to be taken off thier call list and the guy hung up on me mid-sentence. I have filed a report with the government no call list -which I have been registerd on for a long time.

2006-08-30 16:35:40 UTCRP

Phone rang. I saw ID said "KANSAS". I said hello. Caller HUNG UP.

2006-09-01 02:17:54 UTCCB

This number has been calling for over a month, I don't answer because I know it is a telemarketer...tonight they have called 5 times in the past 15 minutes!!

2006-09-01 23:01:33 UTCGulrich

We are on a "Do Not Call" registry and yet we continue to receive phone calls from 913-384-6885 despite asking telling the callers that we are on the registry and asking them not to call back. They continue to call us daily.

2006-09-14 03:53:02 UTCMJ

They call all the time to have you take thier survey which is the same each time.

2006-09-25 19:45:36 UTCVH

At 8:45 at night they called, came up Unknown on the caller ID and there was know one there.

2006-09-26 20:55:56 UTCTT

Just got a call from this company awhile ago. tried to call back but no response.

2006-09-28 20:10:39 UTCd

9/27/06 - 8:35pm
cid shows "VIP RSRCH INC" and nbr... leave no msg..

2006-10-31 17:28:12 UTCAG

This number called me at 6:29 pm, caller id said Kansas. A lady was on the other line and asked for me by name. I said hello, and then she hung up.

2006-10-31 21:42:46 UTCAK

Literally I have received phone calls from this phone number for almost 5 months now. Countless times I have asked them to remove me, now I just hit ignore. I recently added my cell number to the do not call list...the only identifying number that comes up is their phone number, which I googled and found this site. Can someone do something about this?! It's seriously ridiculous!!

2006-11-05 11:57:31 UTCd

What type of survey? Never get a msg or anyone on phone when picked up.! Frustrating.. Believe you can add to your phone (at additional cost) that will block any incomming nbr that does not display cid..
Next time, try to get whatever info you can, Name, calling nbr and report them to FTC.gov and your "Do Not Call" registry. I've only had two calls from them and that was two weeks ago..

2006-11-08 23:01:47 UTCkate

don't ever do a survey for these guys or they will hound you every night. We too are on the do not call list- can't we do something about this harassment?I too, have asked them to stop calling.

2006-11-08 23:11:07 UTCkate

So... I just went to FTC.gov to register a complaint, however the Do Not Call list does not apply to telephone surveyers. Tell all your friends to not answer the survey. It sucks because you know these people are just trying to do their job, so you get suckered into doing the survey- and then because they got you once, and it's hard to find a sucker, they will call you every night.RRRGGGG!

2006-11-09 08:35:00 UTCMEW

I have received several phone calls from the 913-384-6885 number even though I am on the no call list.
It says "out of area" on the caller ID.

2006-11-09 19:39:54 UTCJT

This company has been harrassing my grandmother for weeks. We can't get a company name and no one answers. Then when I'm visiting they ask some garbage about a survery. I don't know what the hell they want but if anyone finds an address let me know I stay close enough by the area code I can go to them in person

2006-11-14 21:24:41 UTCMad Dog

They called me tonight and hung up after I answered. Woke up my kids!!!! It's a Eastern Kansas prefix. I'd like to track them down and do a little fixing myself if you know what I mean.

2006-11-15 20:08:13 UTCHeather

Not only will they not stop calling, they call at like 8-10pm! Wake my kids up. Ticks me off

2006-11-15 22:08:27 UTCron

well they asked for me and then hung up, so go figure..

2006-11-21 18:16:27 UTCGT

Kansas called... I don't know anyone from that backwards part of the country so I didn't answer.

2006-12-08 21:46:59 UTCLaurie

No message left. Has called several times, usually in the evening.

2006-12-09 02:08:03 UTC-

Caller ID said "Kansas" ...guy asked for me by name...then hung up.

2006-12-09 08:35:55 UTCPD

I first called (913)555-1212. I told the operator what was happening, and asked her what address was given. She told me THE RADIO SURVEY (3 words) was listed with an address of 5700 Broadmoor St, Mission Kansas. So I did a search of that address; it seems as though this is a big building with many suites (search 5700 broadmoor mission kansas suite) and you'll see lots of common company names listed covering at least 10 floors.
My thought is this: we need to start calling ALL the companies--any and all of them--doing business in this building. Ask them for any information that they know regarding the mystery radio survey group. If this doesn't work, let's try this:
I went to Mission Kansas' homepage and found the following list of telephone numbers. If we call these people as much as they call us, we should get some answers:
MAYOR McCONNELL 913-676-8361
MIKE SCANTON/ city clerk
913-676-8350
MISSION POLICE STATION
913-676-8300
KANSAS CITY STAR newspaper
913-234-7700
MISSION POST OFFICE
913-831-5304

This may seem a bit drastic but this is more than just inconvenience: we have a newborn and these calls come as late as 9 at night. Any new information that I (or any one of us} gets should be posted here so we can stop this harassment in its tracks.

2006-12-14 00:30:29 UTCdl

the caller id was "kansas" they called my parent's house and asked for me by my first name. I haven't lived there for 5 years! My mom called me to ask if I knew the number, and I found this site by a google search.

2006-12-19 22:04:54 UTCPS

This company has been calling for weeks. We tell them no and they call again. We are on the no call list. It is really getting to be a pain!

2006-12-21 20:18:14 UTCAhmed

2007-01-16 20:24:39 UTCJPB

Company is doing surveys for radio comapanies in your area, they claim if you get on the SARS list you will not be called any longer.

2007-01-16 23:32:38 UTCBrookeDale

I got a call from this number, caller ID said RADIO SURV. They called at 9:00 at night and woke my 7 month old daughter up! After reading all of your posts, I'm shocked by how inconsiderate one company can be!

2007-01-20 23:17:14 UTCJennifer

I do not answer phone calls from people I do not know. I have got a lot of calls from this number though.

2007-01-29 22:39:07 UTCDavid

They called and asked if david was there... I said yes, and he said, "ok" and hung up on me.

nice.

2007-01-29 22:40:54 UTCDavid

Asked if I was home and when I said yes he hung up

2007-02-01 20:06:32 UTCCF

They continue to call us even after asking to be taken off their calling list. Probably call around 3 times a week. I'm gonna put a flamin' bag on their door step if I find out who they are.

2007-02-05 18:18:16 UTCcd

Phone rang. I saw ID said "KANSAS". I said hello. Caller HUNG UP.

2007-02-07 01:27:37 UTCchris

Their real name is MJM marketing, and their contact # (toll free) is (888)384-9494. Ask to speak to Michael. Leave message after message after message after message. Tell them you'll sue. Don't let them get off the phone. Tell them you'll drive over to 5700 Broadmoor in Mission Kansas and deal with them in person. Leave follow up messages. They don't care about you or your sleeping child or how many times you say no. Your name is on a computer list and until you get Mike to deal with it nothing changes for weeks and months. Be pushy. Don't give in. Give em a taste of their own medicine.

2007-02-07 22:34:57 UTCAlexander

Yeah, they called asking for my sister. When i returned with "she is not here" (she is at college) but i was already very suspicious of this caller. Well, this caller emediately hung up while i was in mid sentence...

Course, thinking that i shuld telle her and find out who this caller was, i searched and found this forum. I have notified her not to answer ANY of their questions... Course, as an individual i am very thorough and have prepared to shove a telecomunications harrasment lawsuit on them... That would shut em up.

2007-02-12 20:05:09 UTCJerryBellevue

These guys are pissing me off. You think you have it bad, I get called EVERYDAY atleast 4 times a day and a couple times after 9p.m. This is getting crazy. Is there anythign we can do because this needs to stop. I did their little radio survey about year and half ago and they have called ever since.

2007-02-14 22:55:15 UTCjc

They have been calling for my wife the last several weeks. I have answered as Pizza Hut, Papa Murphy's, Taco Bell, Texaco and national survey. Not to mention several times just saying "NO THANKS". clueless People who are like robots. I did get them to laugh and I will continue to give them hell. Next I will let them talk to dead air for 1 hour!!! I have no problem with my phone being tied up for that long!

2007-02-15 21:32:06 UTCBES

I found their website, vipresearch.net and it shows the following #s 913-384-9494 x102,x103,x105, x113. we should call and overload their voicemail

2007-02-15 23:15:36 UTCJC

I have been recieving calls from these people for over two months. They call nightly at around 9:30 MST and it is really irritating me. I have asked them politely to stop calling several times and it goes ignored. Now that I have the address and company name I am going to speak to a lawyer and have them draw up a nice formal letter to send to them. I understand that they are just doing thier job, but...they call several times a night and much too late for a household with a young child. Screw em.

2007-02-20 09:08:54 UTCRS

These jerks call my house at least four times an evening on weekdays. Last nights they called at 9:45 P.M.!! Has anybody had success getting them to stop?

2007-02-20 19:10:12 UTCLinda

Called and asked for a Nicolas when I said he doesn't live here they asked me questions about a radio survey they were doing. I too am on the do not call list.

2007-02-22 20:56:44 UTCDDIERCKS

WOULD YOU PLEASE REMOVE 620-327-4245 FROM YOUR CALL LIST; THANK YOU;

2007-03-06 20:16:05 UTCAP

I fear the harassing may never stop from this company - I think if enough people file a complaint with @ ftc.gov we may get somewhere - just be sure to enter the compaint for MJM Marketing, 5700 Broadmoor St, Shawnee Mission KS 888-384-9494 or 913-384-9494 - maybe this way something can be done to stop them.

2007-03-12 21:44:03 UTCMike Heydman

If we've called your house, it's to follow up on a survey with somebody we talked to before. We never call back unless we've asked if it's okay to call weeknights between 5p-10p. We then attempt to contact that person until we can get the survey done. I see where a lot of you are getting a ton of calls, but not answering the phone; it's a dialer, it won't assume that you don't want to talk to us because you don't answer, it assumes that you're not home right now, and will simply try again later. So if no one answers and you never do the survey, you've probably gotten a ton of calls. I apologize for that. This is 2-3 minute survey about radio listening. It's supposed to be short, fun and easy, not harassing.
So, to make life easier, follow these steps: If you want te be taken off of the list, simply pick up the phone and say "Mike says to take me off the list." Or just e-mail me the number we call and the name that we ask for, and I'll get it handled. My e-mail is mike@vipresearch.net.
If you have received a call where you've answered and then been hung up on, I would really appreciate it if you could e-mail me the time and date and the number we called. That is not how it's supposed to work, and if I catch anyone doing it, I will terminate their employment immediately.
Again I apologize, and invite you to either participate in our survey, or use one of the above methods to be removed from our calling list.
Sincerely,
Mike Heydman
VIP Research Inc.

I have been getting this call. I seen itis from Kansas on the id and will not answer anyone who doesn't show up.

2007-04-12 23:50:47 UTCCRAIG MEYER

WHEN I ANSWERED NO ONE WAS THERE.

2007-04-19 06:01:04 UTCdan

It's like when people bump into you an say 'excuse me'...they think the words are a fair exchange. This company pretends to care and be sympathetic and scratches its head and says "gee, we don't know why you're still getting these calls." Yet the calls continue. It's all about money and about how it's a big complicated company and since no one's really responsible for any one person's inconvenience the calls just continue even though they're really really sorry.
Call (888)384-9494 and tell them how sorry you are. Then do it again. And again. Then once more. Then 22 more times. Then once more. Then one more time. Then just once more.
That's how I feel about MJM Marketing.

2007-04-21 02:43:49 UTCSherrie

No one on the line when I answer.

2007-04-24 22:33:30 UTCJosh

Just got a call from these guys - twice in about 15 minutes. The first time they hung up on me when I answered, and the second time a woman asked if my ex-wife was home. We haven't lived together since last July, and I told her simply there's noone here by that name. The woman said okay, goodbye. She gave no indication that the call had been anything other than personal in nature. Finding the number here now, I wonder what's really going on...

2007-05-02 23:43:59 UTCBL

It's ridiculous how these

after they've been told not too and ESPECIALLY since I'm on the DO NOT CALL LIST.

Please see my previous post from 3-12-2007 - but again, if you've gotten a call from us, and you've been hung up on, or simply want to be removed from the list just e-mail me: mike@vipresearch.net and we'll get it taken care of. A simple e-mail to me will alleviate all of this stress - I haven't received a single e-mail from any of the above complaints. All I ask is that if you're going to go through all the trouble of putting a complaint on here, why don't you go ahead and help us take you off of our list, so that it doesn't happen again.

I apologize for any inconvenience, as that is simply not what we're trying to do here.

Caller ID said radio survey I picked up and they hung up

2007-06-18 20:01:13 UTCShannon

This company called me today asked to speak to me then hung up on me, if this was infact the radio survey I have asked atleast half a dozen times to be taking off of their calling list, and since they dont seem to know how to listen I will be reported them to the no call list for this

2007-06-21 17:18:49 UTCLeo

These jerks called me last night at 8pm CA time and wanted for me to do their radio survey. I told them no and hung up.

2007-07-11 03:59:26 UTCHeidi

My husband agreed to do their survey last night and they called again tonight, and KEEP calling, but when we answer, there is no one there. We tried to call back, but the number just rang. It's DAMN annoying!!!

2007-07-18 00:55:40 UTCRustynailx

Called my home. Caller ID Radio Surv. Did not answer. Looked up # on Google! Don't answer calls from this #!

2007-07-25 18:24:37 UTCMike Heydman

Oh yeah, if we call you and someone hangs up on you, please e-mail me right away. Give me your area code and phone number (that's the only way I can find you) and give me the exact date and time off of your caller id. I'll find out who did it and take care of it. If it was the dialer then I'll apologize to you. If it was one of my agents, I'll fire them, and then apologize to you. The isn't supposed to be some big hassle, so help me out here and we'll keep it from turning into one.
Thank you all for your time.

2007-08-08 19:37:23 UTCCT

this is the second call i had received from this company, this time they hung up when i answered. I have emailed "mike"

2007-08-09 06:11:42 UTCRaquel

As a former employee of a marketing research firm, I have been sympathetic to what they are trying to accomplish. However, as previously stated, they call constantly, even after a survey has been completed. They do call until 10PM, which is legal for them to do, but still very annoying. Also, after having my baby, I asked that they give me some time before calling back...yeah, they waited until the next night. Very inconsiderate. I still complete surveys for them, only because it takes just a few minutes and it's not that bad. Plus, it helps keep songs I'm tired of off the radio. :)

2007-08-16 03:57:18 UTCDF

the guy asked for a name from a resident at the address but not phonebook listed. I said she was i (i'm male) and the guy gave me the SouthPark line "don't take drugs, mmm-kay " etc. and hung up. odd. not funny. anyone had problems from giving their number to 'mike heydman'??

I've e-mailed DF to get his complete phone number so I can find the jackass that called him and get him off my payroll. I couldn't be more disappointed and I'm anxious to find out who did it.
PS - Raquel, I totally appreciate that you get what we're trying to do here. It really sucks that I keep getting random idiots that screw it up for me. Good help is ridiculously hard to find.
Thanks again,

**you will also receive this in e-mail.**
Maybe you should monitor your employees a little better instead of relying on the public to do your job for you. I've seen your meaningless posts on the web site yet the calls keep coming. See a problem here? And why ask for our phone number? You already have it, isn't that how we get the call in the first place? I have an idea, why don't you give everyone your phone number, and every time we get a phone call, we can call you and wake up you and your kids at 9 pm. Its called being PRO-active not RE-active. I see your a VIP, start acting like one.

2007-08-21 17:50:19 UTCMike Heydman

I hate to sound like a broken record, but here goes:
- If you don't answer the phone, it's a machine and it will call you back.
- Unless you talk to someone, they can't take you off of the list.
- We call THOUSANDS of people every day from all over the country. If you send me an e-mail like "My name is Ted, take me off your list." It doesn't help at all.
- I have thousands of Ted's from all over the country. Without your phone number, I can't look you up or take you off the list (yeah we called it, but where, when, what time, etc.)
- Finally, who did we ask for? Was it you? Was it a relative that we already talked to, who agreed to do the survey? It's either a cold call, or we got permission to call back.
- A simple survey is all this is. If you want off the list, then help me to help you and give me the info that I need to do it (or you can do nothing and get interrupted and irate every time the phone rings).

We're just trying to do a short survey (not sell, scam or collect). Plus, we're Americans calling from Kansas. Not India, or Costa Rica or wherever all these other crappy calls come from.
If you have any questions, feel free to call me at 913.384.9494 or e-mail me at mike@vipresearch.net.

Don't give these people any personal information. This is an identity theft ring. If you are getting calls from this number, call the police.

2007-09-26 14:45:12 UTCMike Heydman

Once again, in addition to my previous posts: Wow. If any of you have questions, please contact me at 913.384.9494 x 103.
As far as AO"s post goes: Think about it, I've already called, I already have your number, I just need it to remove it. We are registered with the National Do Not Call list, our SAN# is:259617-496084-07. We are exempt because we NEVER sell anything, nor do we ever resell any personal information. To be registered as exempt by the DNC (each year since it's inception) is not something an "Identity theft ring" could or would do. These are easily verifiable facts and encourage you to check them out for yourself.

2007-09-29 13:25:20 UTCBP

I emailed Michael and was removed immediately. I was getting 5 calls daily. I emailed him like he said to do. Asked that they not call my number anymore and they haven't. I think if you contacted Michael you too would receive the same response I did. Give the man the chance to fix it.

2007-10-26 22:33:12 UTCLeprehit

Called and rang one time before I "ZAPPED" them with my no-call program. Do a Google search for PHONETRAY Free... it's the best thing since sliced bread and pockets on a shirt. And it really is free, without adware or bugs.

2007-10-26 22:38:42 UTCLeprehit Part 2

Dear Mike,

You have calmed all of my fears. But, why does your company either disregard or ignore the National DO NOT CALL list? What part of DO NOT CALL get by you guys? And, how about a straight, uncomplicated answer free of fluff.....

2007-10-29 18:13:23 UTCMike Heydman

Leprehit: Quick and easy with no "Fluff:" The Do Not Call list keeps folks from getting scammed, or sold crap they don't want or ask for. We "get by" because we don't do any of the above. Political polls, Neilson ratings, consumer research and even our little radio surveys depend on telephone contacts to gather our info. If you don't want to do it, great, we'll remove you. But if there were no exemptions for legitimate companies like us, how are we to collect that data? The internet's a joke as far as data collection is concerned. Direct mail is expensive and for the most part, useless. If there's a way to do this, without the phone calls (and all the people who "kick us in the nuts" on a daily basis because we called) I'd be all over it. Believe me, trying to find out what people like so the radio stations can give it to them is a tough gig. This post is wordy, not fluffy. I'm happy to answer any questions and take anyone off of our list.
Thanks,
Mike

Emailed Mike - got a reply back within 15 minutes that we have now been removed. They had called 4 times earlier tonight. I waiting to see if we get anymore.

2007-11-14 04:55:22 UTCLinda Smith

My husbad pick up the phone at 8:39pm and a guy on the line ask for me (Linda). I took the phone from my husband and they hung up on me. This company has called us once a week at the same time 8:30pm or even later than that. There was one time when I picked up on this same call from them and they also hung up on me. I am registerd on the Do Not Call list for all of my phones.

2007-11-14 19:04:32 UTCMike Heydman

Linda, all I need is the area code and phone number that we called to remove you from our list. I tried to track you down by your name, but I only have a first name on our list, and I don't even know what time zone you're in, so I really can't take a guess at it. I'll take you off right away, just let me know what number we dialed. If you have other numbers you can e-mail them to me at mike@vipresearch.net and I'll make sure they're removed as well. I apologize for any inconvenience.
Mike

2007-11-20 03:34:26 UTCAR

They call every week day at least three times a night. And you tell them to take you off there list and they just call again the next night.

2007-11-21 03:04:08 UTCTB

We have been trained at our house not to answer any call that doesn't ring at least four rings - try this test at home, if you let it ring three times, and they hang up, it is most likely a telemarketer. Our family and friends know to call us on our cell phones. Unfortunately, they call continuously several times in a row. It finally stopped when I plugged my phone line into my fax machine and they got the pleasant "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" noise in their ear.

2007-11-21 16:28:16 UTCMike Heydman

The fax machine screech won't ever get to an agent because the dialer will simply code it as a fax machine and you will be called again. Same thing goes if you just let it ring, the machine assumes you're not home and will try again later. The dialer is not intuitive. It won't take a hint, or deduce that you want to be removed. Pick up the phone and request it, or e-mail me with a phone number and I'll remove it (mike@vipresearch.net). It's so much easier to do it that way, as opposed to getting all worked up trying to find a way to get off the list without having to talk to someone to do it. All you need to do is let me know and you'll be off for good. It's that simple.
Please enjoy your holiday (and no we won't be calling over the weekend, so I guess there's at least one thing to be thankful for).
Mike

2007-12-12 01:54:57 UTCNR

This number called my house five times between 5PM and 8:50PM. No message left. Absolutely ridiculous to call a number 5 times in under 4 hours just for a survey. I think there might be a case for a class-action harassment suit against them...

2007-12-12 02:05:49 UTCWTF

RE: Mike Heydman - It's not our problem that you find it difficult to collect your data through other methods. Simply put - calling the same number over and over again can be considered harassment whether or not someone answers the phone. We are NOT obligated to give you information; You are obligated not to call people over and over again for telemarketing "research". This is not a simple survey being conducted by a curious party - this is marketing research data which is sold to other companies. Call a spade a spade, my "friend". Can you show me a legal citation where your company is exempt from the Do Not Call list? That's right, I didn't think so.

2007-12-12 16:46:22 UTCMike Heydman

We are registered with the National Do Not Call list, our SAN# is:259617-496084-07. We are exempt because we NEVER sell anything, nor do we ever resell any personal information. Any data we provide is in an aggregate form, therefore never personally identifiable. If you want off the list, pick up the phone and tell us, or e-mail me. How else do you expect it to happen? If you don't answer, the dialer thinks you're not home and will try again (and again, etc). How is it harassment if no one picks up? Are we harassing your phone or answering machine? All you have to do is pick it up one measly time and the problem ends forever. So please, LET ME TAKE YOU OFF OUR LIST!!! Or do absolutely nothing so you can get angry and worked up over something that is ridiculously easy to fix.

2008-01-08 00:54:02 UTCRusty

I refuse to answer the phone when ever they call. I did answer a few weeks ago and after he stated it was a survey I plolitly said not interesated and hung up. Now it appears they are starting to call yet again.

2008-07-25 03:07:36 UTCAperson

This happens to us allot if you want them to stop calling you play this sound(thisisarecording.com) recording when they call, if its a dialer
it will take you off the call list.

2008-07-25 03:19:52 UTCIP

So mike its okay(so you say) for you to call us when you're not selling and your not on the do not call list, but it is okay to invade our phone line(that we're paying for) at outrageous hours and have ways of getting off of your calling list that don't work and waking us up or our family?

2008-08-18 21:39:04 UTCCHL at Hm

They called once before and I told them I was too busy to take a survey about radio stations I listen to (classical, which doesn't help since they almost always have been hired by rock stations) The girl was reasonably polite and said they could just call back again later. They've tried several times, sometimes even a little late for my thinking, but they are in Kansas and we're on the East Coast, so....

2008-09-04 01:09:25 UTCJT

Asked them not to call and they continue to call back. When I again asked them tonight not to call back, she hung up on me.

Hey everyone who posted on this board. I used to work for VIP Research before I had to go work in Japan (do you remember who this is, Mike?). Anyway, I just wanted to stick up for Mike and let all you guys know that 1) it's not a scam, 2)Mike is a good guy and 3)he'll take you off the list if you let him know that it's causing problems for you. Just trust me when I say that screaming at the person who just happened to have your name pop up on their screen is not going to help matters in the least. National Media Research, represent! What, what! *raises roof*

I also completed the survey and now receive twice as many calls because I wrongly assumed they would stop. Three requests to stop these calls politely and two legally recorded according to the law. Boy was I dumb. A company that purposely ignores the federal "do not call list" and now they have even more of my information to sell.

2008-10-23 15:36:34 UTCMike Heydman

I get it guys, you don't want phone calls. Great. I'll remove you, but is it really necessary to make it this difficult? Seriously, let me remove you and you can focus your energies on stuff that matters.

Dana: VIP Research Inc. 5700 Broadmoor Ste 200 Mission KS 66202. 913-384-9494 I'm happy to take you off the list and I'm understandibly curious as to why you haven't been removed yet. You know the drill, I need your number to remove it and I can't do anything based on anonymous postings.

TJ: You're mistaken. I reply to every e-mail I get and I haven't received anything from you. If you can prove me wrong I'd love to see your message or my reply, but I'm confident neither exists. Additionally, it's just us. We don't sell data, we're not partnered or affiliated with any other research company, on-line or off, so there's no way your alleged e-mail to me suddenly put you on all these survey lists. If you can prove me wrong, great. If not, then I'd appreciate an apology for your ridiculous comments. Again, for anyone who needs it, mike@vipresearch.net Additionally, we're registered (NOT IGNORING, BUT REGISTERED, LOOK IT UP) with the DNC our San # is 10025429-125429-08.

2008-10-23 19:49:34 UTCms

how do I trust my additional info given to them to stop them from making these harassing phone calls will not be used for even more of it?

i heard that when these companies are bought, all my personal information can be used for anything

2008-10-23 21:36:20 UTCMike Heydman

MS - To remove you from the list I need your phone number. Keep in mind, I already have it, I just have absolutely no idea who you are in order to remove you. My family has owned VIP research since 1979. We're not selling, and even if we did, our regstration with the DNC specifically forbids us from selling any personal data we collect (otherwise, we wouldn't be exempt). If you reply to me with your area code and phone number, and nothing else, I'll remove you and you won't hear from us again. No you won't get more calls. No, you won't get on some e-mail list. And no, whatever other craziness has been posted on here won't happen either.

2008-10-24 03:15:20 UTCClara

My husband also has our family on that do not call list.

I get these calls every day during family dinner. I'm new to this and don't understand why.

They call us no matter if we are on the do not call list?

What does it mean that they are registered for this list and exempt?

2008-10-24 03:52:57 UTCDavid

Can't stop these calls and at least I know I'm not alone.

I appreciate there is a organization that responds to complaints. But WTF! Reading their comments they use a clause in the law and can sell MY information because there is no privacy policy. Where? Where? Hello VIP are you listening?

(also...stop calling me. im on the do not call list. use it. stop the excuses)

2008-10-24 03:57:44 UTCMike Heydman

Clara:
We are exempt because we don't sell anything, or solicit, or collect information to resell it. So survey companies (like us) charities, political fundraisers (of course they won't legislate their money away, that's a little shady even I admit that). But all we do is a short 2 minute radio survey. If we call at a bad time, tell us to call back, or tell us to remove you from our list. But if you never pick up the phone, the dialer simply assumes you're not home and will try and call back later, and later and so on. After a while, we've called several times and people are all fired up because they never answer the phone. Then they go to sites like these and see all the crazy ramblings from the paranoid folks and then they're even more afraid to pick up the phone, resulting in more calls and it turns into this crazy upsetting cycle. That's not our goal. We're doing short surveys, if you'd like to participate, that's awesome, if not, just let us know and we can remove you. It's really easy and not nearly as dramatic and difficult as some of these posts appear. Again, all my info is out there for anyone to contact me. Mike@vipresearch.net or call 913-384-9494 and I'll remove you. I'm sorry for any hassles, and again, that's not what we're trying to do here.

2008-10-24 04:04:08 UTCMike Heydman

David: no excuses but how can I remove you if I don't know who or where you are? As my numerous posts have stated, we're exempt from the DNC list as are many others. It's great that you're on it, but you also on my "call list" so help me remove you then. I've never, actually I'll say it in caps to get my point across I HAVE NEVER SOLD A SINGLE PIECE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM A SINGLE PERSON WE'VE TALKED TO. Period. Call or mail me and I'll remove you, but other than that, you're just some guy on some list I purchased (based on age ranges and nothing more) and I wouldn't even have a clue as to how to go about removing you.

2008-10-25 00:37:38 UTCps

it is humorous they need OUR help to stop their evil autodialers.!!

they are well aware they are calling all of us on the DO NOT CALL LIST and have no intention of stopping. just read their posts

2008-10-25 06:57:23 UTCMike Heydman

PS - It's humorous that every post has my name, number and e-mail address (which is far more info than I have for you) letting you know that I'm more than willing to remove you from our list. So you can be pissed off or you can give me a phone number (that I already have) to remove from our list forever. We are exempt from the DNC which means I can call you because the law says I can. If you want to anonymously lament about getting called, so be it. Otherwise, contact me and you'll never hear from us again. It's a crappy economy, I'm providing jobs to people and all we're doing is a two minute survey. You're expending way more energy bitching about it than it would take to remove you. Hell, contact your state's attorney general and tell them you want off my list. You'll still have to give them your number to remove, which they will give to me to remove. However, any fundraising or polling that they do is exempt as well, so they won't do anything that they wouldn't do to themselves. I've been completely open and honest about all of this. What else I can do (and don't say "take me off the list" unless you're going to give me a number to take off the list). I've done everything I can to make this painless for those who wish to participate and those who don't. Once again: Mike Heydman, VIP Research Inc. 5700 Broadmoor Ste 200 Mission, KS 66202 913-384-9494 mike@vipresearch.net So you can be bitter or you can be removed, it's all up to you.

2008-10-27 22:19:06 UTCTM

Seriously, folks, are you not reading the previous comments? If they aren't selling anything, they can be excempt from the DNC list. And Mike Heydman has written several comments about how to be effortlessly removed. Send the man an email or give him a call with your information (that he already has) and you'll be well on your way to a few less unwanted phone calls (at least from them). Unlike some other companies, he has personally come on here and made it that simple. For that, we should be grateful. And be kind to the employees, they are just trying to make a living. People whine about our "bad" ecomony and people losing their jobs, so we should be grateful these folks are Americans calling us.

They have called before and asked to not call. They called 3 times tonight with the most recent being at 9:40 PM. I asked her to quit calling but she said she had to hear that from my daughter. I finally hung up because I could see that this was not going anywhere.
