How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Eric is a dumb ass.. I answered and talked to Verizon Wireless customer service....True..I don't know what phishing is but they were helpful with my wireless phone issue......

Apparently those who think this is Verizon are not aware of how phising works -- theres a lot of money to be made from DUMB people (like you)
When in doubt, call the ACTUAL NUMBER listed on your Verizon contact information.

Hung up when I pressed for more information. Said I supposedly owe money on a cell phone, but refused to divulge any more information than that.
Dude... it's Verizon. No need to freak out, just pay your bill and quit making excuses why you shouldn't answer their call.
Calls received at least 3-4 times a day. No message...
In my case, it was Verizon Wireless responding to an email inquiry I made to their website, not a marketing call or phishing.

I got a call from this number, then called my mother, who still is the primary person on my verizon account. She was having trouble with her voicemail and called verizon, who then called my number after speaking to her to make sure my voicemail was working. They called from this number and left no message. Apparently, though, it's legitimate.
I have received up to 7 calls in a days time with no message being left. I don't even have a cell phone account with Verizon if this is the company that is calling. This is has been going on for almost 2 weeks now, on a daily basis, even on weekends (sat. & sun).
Number was calling several times a day. Finally I called back and they said they were Verizon Wireless, but they asked for a lot of personal information and would not explain what the call was regarding since I wouldn't give them all the personal info that they wanted.
Its verizons collection service. If your phone bill is over due.
The lady called looking for my telephone account info, she was really unprofessional and rude as well. I would advise to stay away
This number called me and was a rep from Verizon Wireless. I was complaining about calls from a vendor calling my phone in spite of it being registered in the National Do Not Call registry. Call was professional and seemed fine.
Um, I think someone is phishing for account information...I've been called 3x by this number in the last 3 days, never picked up, but I called back. Very unrealistic voicemail (quality is very low as well). I would advise to stay away!!!
Asked me to call back 800-754-0961 "about your cellular telephone account." The voice on the machine had a severe echo in the room. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.
Called on November 17th, 2006 at 3:22 PM EST. Left no message.
