Got called by them at 2:39 today.

Me too! I asked a couple of my friends if they knew the number, they said no and the number keeps calling me! I don't know how a number can have a missing digit, and I'm unable to report them! If anyone has an idea, help! I'm tired of them calling me!

Got the "call" for the 4th time. How the heck are they getting my cell #? I reported them to the Do Not Call Registry as well.

This was the second time they called my cell. Not only did they spoof the phone number, but also the date/time of the call (it was six days in the future). I didn't answer the call. Bass turds.

I have been called by this number multiple times, but have never answered. I'm glad to have found this site--to know I'm not the only one and to file a complaint!

I have recevied SIX phone calls from these ridiculous people. i filed a complaint with NJ do not call.

This number continues to call my cell phone on a twice-weekly basis. I have never picked up, nor have they left a voicemail. I did try calling back, but without that last number, it obviously doesn't go through. I have an unlisted phone number and do not want to continue getting these calls as they come at inopportune times. Is there a way to contact this number and make it stop?

Received a call from them on my cell phone twice now. First time I missed the call, second time I answered and immediately hung up.

Let's hope with enough complaints we can get these idiots!

I have gotten called twice the past two saturdays and always miss the call when I call back I get my phone service telling me to try again.

Called on my cell for carpet cleaning. I am also on DNC list. When I tried to get their phone number, they hung up. I am filing a complaint on State of New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs at state.nj.us. Everyone should do the same.

This is the second time this number has called my unlisted cell phone. I never give out my cell number unless I know the person.

Funniest thing about them calling me (908 #) is that I was actually working at a carpet store when I got the call.. By the way this is the 2nd time in the past month or so. We own a family business of carpet, so this is pretty funny. Cheers!

It's scammers and the reason they are leaving off the digit is because they are spoofing the number anyway.

Really weird. I have a (908) area code cell phone and my fiance has a (732) area code number. We each got the same exact "carpet cleaning service" prerecorded phone call BUT here's what was interesting. The number that called him had a (732)area code (his phone area code) and the number that called me had a (908) area code. When trying to dial these numbers back, realized they were incomplete numbers, only 9 digits long. How is that possible!?

Grateful to have found this website. Sick psychos out there, what the hell kind of stunt are these weirdos trying to pull anyway?

I got the same call on my cell 12/05/084:11pm ET. It was from some carpet cleaning company. I presed 1 to schedule the cleaning. Some girl picked up and hung up on me before i say anything.

These crooks may be using some telecom equipments which let them take control of their caller id. They are using some fake caller id.
I am not sure how they are making money by harassing people.

Does anyone know where to report such incidents ?

This number called me yesterday, Dec 4th around 2:30 when I was in class, and then again today around 4:15 when I was taking a nap. Didn't leave voicemail either time...I didn't notice the missing number until I went to look it up on 411.com... At least I know I'm not the only one now!

I got a call, Dec4 at 2:30, no voice mail, from this number. I missed the call again on Dec 5 at 4:18pm

908741387 called me, i was napping and just missed the call, i thought the missing digit was really weird...

Today, December 3rd 2008, I recieved a phone call from 908-741-387! I was astomished the call was coming through without the last digit! I picked up but no one answered and the call was disconnected..

I just got called and there was silence...????WTF?

I didn't answer the phone because I didn't know who it was. Does anyone know who they really are?

Just got a Call and was switch through to a person and asked the name of the company and how they got my number. the person Hung up the Phone.

This number called and left a voicemail saying if I wanted to schedule a carpet cleaning to press 1... Number only showed as 908-741-387, missing a digit.

Got a call on 11-29-08 at 6:06pm left a prerecorded voicemail about a cleaning company and hung up during the middle of it. Annoying and very strange that it was missing last digit.

They just called me today 11.28.08 at 12.39 about carpet cleaing? it also had the one digit number missing werid.

A NJ area code, no doubt about it but how did they call w/o that last digit? And how did they get my cell #?

They called, I didn't answer. They left no message. Same thing with the missing last digit.

Called on my cell and went to vm. My wife's cell number differs from mine by only one digit, and they called her about 30 seconds later. Sounds like a computer trying systematically trying different number combinations to me.

I also just received a call from them. I pressed 1 to speak to an operator, and told her that I don't even have carpets in my house, and would like for them to never call me again. She just hung up on me.

Just received this call about 30 minutes ago...roughly 2:15 pm Thursday 11/20. Usually when I see a number I let it go to voicemail cuz I mostly wouldn't know who the caller was. When I noticed only 6 digits I thought I was receiving a call from the past :-p

But rather than open up a wormhole next to my ear I just let it ring and they left no vmail. I will report them as well because my cell is Do Not Call registered.

By the way websites like this are awesome for this reason...keep it up, great idea!

This number called my cell phone which is on the government's DO NOT CALL list registry. When you call them, the line is busy. It's some place called Steve's Carpet Cleaning.

just got the call from this number. didn't pick up, but have never requested any carpet cleaning.

I didn't answer, but I sent a text message to the number asking who it was. Usually if it's a landline, Verizon will send me a message telling me that it's a landline. And how did it make the call without the last digit?? WEIRD.

I got the call - it looked strange, but I pushed for more info - when they answered I asked for a supervisor and they hung up.

Missing digit as well, can't seem to find them. They hung up when I asked for information. I've never had anything cleaning related done, and am a renter, so these calls are completely random.

Just got that call too 11/7/08 on my work cell. Got the same call last week on my personal cell. I reported them to the Do No Call Registry because my cell is registered. Hope they get them

Got a call from them around two on my cell, they left a pre-recordered message about carpet cleaning. no company name and the missing digit got me as well.. seems to be happening to people all within the last couple hours today. strange

Did some further research- this number with a "6" at the end is connected to previous telemarketing calls.

I just got the call on my cell. Press 8 to HOPE they take you off their list. Funny, I got my carpet cleaned early October by my local Spotless Carpet Cleaning company. They were very professional, did a good job and were reasonably priced. When calling for quotes, I also contacted my local Chem-Dry but did not end up using them. Could this be related?
