How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Skype'd 1-800-882-4184 and gave the operator a piece of my mind. I plan to send them a C&D letter by registered mail shortly.
Well, well, well... another Saturday and another 4 calls in-a-row with 8 seconds in between, with the first 3 coming from "90754". Unlike the last time (on 2008-03-15) the 4th CID number was not blocked - it came from 1-800-882-4184 (StarTec Communications - whocalled.us) just 8 seconds after the 3rd call, just like last time: 2008-04-12 10:24:02, 2008-04-12 10:24:10, 2008-04-12 10:24:18 and 2008-04-12 10:24:26 (toll-free number was auto-fwd'ed to voicemail, but no message left, just like all the other calls from StarTec). Back to repeatedly calling at 8 and 9 second intervals: 2008-03-15 11:10:21, 2008-03-15 11:10:30, 2008-03-15 11:10:38, 2008-03-15 11:10:46 ET. What's very interesting is that the first 3 attempts were from "90754" and the 4th (last) attempt was from a blocked number (just 8 seconds after the third attempt - it has to be them). My VoIP blocks calls from unknown/blocked numbers. Sounds like a telejunker is desperately trying to get through. No matter, my VoIP will keep auto-forwarding these spamtards to an out-of-service number.
Inconsistency: only called once, instead of trying multiple times - 2008-02-28 ~15:55 ET.
6 months on, these wuckfits are still periodically trying to get through - they are on perma-ban in my VoIP block list (auto-fwd'ed to an OOS number). Does not call as frequent as whocalled.us but I suspect it's the same perps, as they try 2-3 times in the space of a minute (just like the inbreds at 90560): 2008-01-22 11:01:34 and 2008-01-22 11:02:03 ET.
Yep, a 5-digit CID *REALLY* makes me want to pick up the phone. These idiots blatantly fake their CID and call 1-2 times each month. Also get calls from "90560", which are probably the same perps.
