How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

The modus operandi belongs to StarTec Communications AKA Teligent, an ethically-challenged long-distance telco (in one of the service sectors with a propensity to tele-spam and to tele-junk-by-proxy). After months of calling with junk CID numbers ("90560", "90754" and "1800949993") they finally called without a faked/blocked caller ID today - see whocalled.us for more information.
This one won't stop and the display doesn't make me want to pick the phone up either! How annoying!
More desperation: 2008-01-03 09:25:58 and 2008-01-03 09:26:26. I guess the OOS message doesn't throw them off.
Crazy-ass telejunkers - 5 calls in less than 1 minute, all from "90560": 2007-11-20 11:25:39, 11:25:47, 11:25:54, 11:26:02 and 11:26:10. All 5 calls auto-fwd'ed to an OOS number. They must be desperate.
Yep, a 5-digit CID *REALLY* makes me want to pick up the phone. These idiots blatantly fake their CID and call 1-2 times each month. Also get calls from "90754", which are probably the same perps.
