How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

This is a bogus number -- it's not assigned in the North American Number Plan. The caller is forging the Caller-ID. Definitely fraud artists!
Well, after reading the comments, especially the last ones in all caps, I agree. In fact it is the second call like that, I can say within 2 weeks for sure. Both times I had to get rid of them... But for some reason I called *69 and wrote down the phone number. 905-111-1111... got to be fake right? So I called my local Bell at 519-310-BELL. They did not have any reference really to numbers besides their local stuff, BUT they did say they had a promotion on for internet right now. I did not match the details because I can't use with them because I have already with cable. Any number that comes out like this be suspicious.

THEY OFFER A SPECIAL 3 MONTH FREE WIRELESS INTERNET SPECIAL. THEY SOUND SINCERE. THEY SPEAK WITH AN EAST INDIAN ACCENT. THEY REQUEST CREDIT CARD INFORMATION. BELL CANADA NEVER REQUESTS CREDIT CARD INFO. CALL BELL CANADA TO CONFIRM INFORMATION AT 310-BELL.

Called Bell Canada and asked them to make these calls stop. I was getting them up to three times a day and at all hours. Here's what they said and did: called their marketing compant and got me off the list.
So call Bell cutomer service and tell Emily that you want "other service" and a rep will help you out.
Call came in at 5pm & I let my answering machine get it.
I laughed when I saw the call display show 1-905-111-1111.
I was not surprised when no message was left.
call came in at 921pm...a little late for telemarketers, in my opinion.
Call came in at 9:11pm claimed to be from Bell Canada
