Who Called Us

Minutes before the call I had sent an email inquiry along with speaking to an agent at Travel By Jen to find a deal to Mexico. Then I received a call from "My Cancun Getaway" saying that I had won a trip to Cancun. All I had to do was book through them and visit their newest hotel in Cancun in order to receive their lowest rate on a hotel stay ($299.00 for 7 days at one of 3 all-inclusives). They could even book airfare for me as long as I had a valid credit card to use. I asked that they never call me again. The number that called me wa 213-732-2032

I recieved a call form the travel agent, who wanted my credit card number, but after stating that I would like to do further research, called me an "ass," and hung the phone up on me. Therefore, it's a scam. More notably, I am a pre-law student. So please research before giving out your credit card number.

THE CALLERS SAY THEY ARE IN CANCUN, THEY ARE ACTUALLY ON SUNRISE BLVD IN FT. LAUDERDALE. THE WORST THING ABOUT THIS IS THAT YOUR CREDIT CARD IS PROCESSED IN MEXICO AND IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL THE CHARGE OR GET A REFUND.

I received a call today at 2pm. Stated my low interest rate was about to expire, and press 1. Pressed 1, person picking up asked if we pressed 1. Spouse asked who they represented, he wouldnt say, she asked the name he had on his screen and he hung up. I tried *69 and it said number is not known. I don't even live in the US

Was on my caller id when I got home from work. I didn't call back - didnot recongize number. They did not leave message

When I called the number back it said it was "disconnected"

I got a recorded message saying there was a problem with my credit card, sounding like a warning, but mentioning a card for a lower rate, and finishing with a request that i push 1. I pushed 1 just to try to get an identity, but no luck. hang up when I asked name of their company.

Calling to give me a new rate on my cc. Pressed 2 to have them remove me, and reported the call to the DNC.

I'm in Illinois and had the exact same experience today. Saw the number, didn't know who it was, looked it up online, saw it was from Jacksonville, then found this site. I'm also on the DNC list.

No message left. I didn't recognize the number so I didn't pick up. Immediately wrote down the number and googled it.

I tried to call the number back and it says that number is non-existant

Now the message on caller ID for this number says "various offers". How annoying!

I contacted my telephone provided company, and asked them how do I block these calls. They said since it's computer dialed, it can't be blocked. What is this world coming to?

These people from this number have been calling me for the past two weeks. I’m really getting annoyed by them. I am also on the DO NOT CALL LIST. ( Dose the list really work? ) I know it takes 30 days to be in full affect but I am still getting calls well after the 30 days. It’s been over a year now and they don’t seem to stop.

I have tried to call this number back on several occasions and the oddest thing…… their phone will not ring, so I can’t call them back and get a hold of them.

Finally today when they called I listened to the automated recording that stated something about my credit and what not. I pushed option #1 and got a hold of a guy named ANDRE who’s name should really be called ~SMART @SS~ before I could get a word in about not wanting these calls ~ SMART @SS~ hung up on me. Change that from ~SMART @ss~ to
~ @SS #0Le ~. I wish these punks would stop calling me I don’t want or need their service.

I tracked this number to Jacksonville, Flordia. I too am on the NDC list. I for sure will also report this scam.

First a recording offering to extend my warranty coverage on my car.
I pressed the appropriate numbers to get to a live person. When I asked what car he was calling about and what company he was with, he hung up on me!!

Called this AM. Let the machine answer. They left no msg. Called id showed +442073598017 Unknown name

They didn't leave a message. I tried calling it back and its disconnected.

Just got this one on the Caller ID this afternoon. No message. The number and Jacksonville, FLA on the display.

They called offering to lower my credit card rates. I pressed one to speak to an agent. I stated we're on the DNC list - he offered to remove me. I asked for his street address - would not provide, I asked for the CEO's name - would not provide. Beware - seems like a scam...

The recorded message urged me to press "1" to talk to someone about an important opportunity that was about to slip away. Wow, thanks.

Also, they change their 'calling from' number. It's no longer the 904-683-7757...it's been
disconnected. This is obviously a 'scam', so get the word out.

I got the call. I followed through to get a live person. The person hung up on me when I didn't answer her question correctly. She asked if my balance was over 2 thousand dollars. I said I wasn't sure. Next time they call I'll be smarter so I can 'get them'.

just got a call from this number letting answering machine get it, they hung up so i called back just to see and was told that the number was disconected it showed up on call-id as jacksonvill,fl..

I first let the fax machine get it :) but then when I called back it said the number had been disconnected.

Missed call. Unknown name. No message. I am on DNC list.

I pressed 1 to go to a rep (perpared to mess with them) and it went dead. Does anyone know what possible reason for these calls is? Are they just confirming active phone numbers and times to sell to other spammers?
Does anyone iknow how they are able to fool the caller ID by entering a false number (that number has been disconnected?)

when I told rep I was on do not call list he hung up. when they called me again and I tried to get info on company they hung up on me again

said Jacksonville FL on caller ID. Missed the call, went to voice mail but they didn't leave message. Smells like a telemarketer to me. I'm on DNC list, so they better not call again.

I tried calling the number and got a message saying that I had reached a number that had been disconnected.

But something needs to be done with this whole telemarketer thing. I do not buy anything or give info over the phone. I've told some of them just that, and to please dont call here anymore. Sick of these people bothering me!!!

I decided to wait to see if a message was left since the number was unfamiliar; no message; caller ID said unknown caller; abnormally long final ring! Probably a computer generated call. When I called the number back it was identified as a disconnected number by a recording -- NOT A PHONE COMPANY RECORDING!

These jerks called during my lunch. I didn't pick up, and just like most of the others have already reported... no message.

Caller ID Jacksonville Fl. Matt, started telling me about how the warranty on my car was running out. Funny, I don't have a car. When I asked him where he got my number he hung up saying "We won't call you no more."

I didn't answer. But then I called back. It says it is disconnected. How can the make phone calls from a number that is disconnected? I am reporting it.

It was on my Caller ID with "Unknown Name."

Got a call this morning from this #. Recording left a message on my machine about a vacation in Orlando. On the Natoinal DNC list.

Called back, and it said the number was disconnected. Caller ID said "OUT OF AREA"

SCAM about my credit card rate about to increase. Got the same exact recording from an out of country: phone number 44-207-359-8017

Wait til end of message: press "2" to be removed. Hope it works.

No problem with your credit card services, but we are calling today to see if you would like to check out the lowest rate and have it applied to your account. Push 1 to speak to a LIVE OPERATOR: pushed it and it hung up. **I pay for caller id, and I should get caller ID'd. If number is UNKNOWN, then I should not receive it...ARRGGGHHHH!

Recieved a call about a bad credit card acct. My father, old and cannot hear, answered and some women talked and talked. When I returned the call, it said disconnected. I am on the national do not call list. Can anything be done?

I don't know if this has anything to do with myself fortunately getting few of these crazy calls, DNC notwithstanding, but when I'm home and get a strange number I put them on to Miss Click first and look them up afterwards - I press the speakerphone button as if to answer and then hang it right back up, repeat if/as needed. Any that I find have triggered the voicemail just get deleted as I don't have the least interest in whatever/whoever Since I know it ain't Ed McMahon calling. Less stress that way, and I refuse to change this number I picked out special. I hope those getting hassled by crap like this quickly get less of it.

We received a telemarket call from the number and we are registered on the no call list.

Got a call on 5/29/07 stating that there was no problem with my credit card, but that if I wanted to lower my interest rates, I should push 1, or push 2 to be removed. I pushed 2, and the call instantly disconnected.

They keep calling me - when I tell them I am on the do not call list - they hang up and continue to call me

This number left a message saying I "won" an 11 day vacation and was only $99 each for the first two people and free for any after that. Obviously a scam.

Got call from this number on 05/23/07 while on vacation. Called number back on 05/28/07 and got a recording saying the number had been disconnected!

I let the machine answer. They did not leave a message.

Credit card account didn't have a problem, but to call them back anyway. Sounds like a phishing expedition to me. Did not return call.

Second phone call in less than 10 minutes. When I explained that I had already entered them into the National Do Not Call Database they hung up on me. I tried to call back and it says that it has been disconnected.

got a recording when this number called me, which BTW, violates the Federal telemarketer rules. I forwarded this number to the National Do Not Call database. Recording said that it was something about an extended warranty fo automobiles

Caller ID says "Jones, H" Automated message comes on about vehicle warranty expiring. Called the number back, got message that this # had been disconnected.

It was a recorded message, telling me that my warranty for my car was about to expire and that I should hit "1" to buy extended coverage. I hung up.

I let the machine pick it up and no message was left. I'm on the DNC list.

Some junkie spammers - Even though my number is on do-not-call list, I have reported them to donotcall.gov

I've a two or three calls from this number. I once got a recording, saying, "There is no problem with your account at this time..." and that's when I hung up. Now, I check the caller ID (mine says "Out of the Area") and simply don't answer.

I received the call-though I am on a no call list (which I plan to report.)I get one agent who asks if I want details. "Sure." I got transferred to another agent. They told me that they are in Cancun, Mexico and want to show a time share from what I gather. I was promised a vacation to Cancun for only $99 for the first two people. Then it was $297 ($99 for an administration fee that they failed to mention.) I asked several times the name of the website which I could not easily get. Then I got yet ANOTHER agent who said their website is mycancungetaway.com They promise 5 days, 4 nights in Cancun at the Royal Sunset or Sunset Lagoon, 5 days 4 nights in Orlando and passes to Islands of Adventure or Disneyworld for 2 days, 4 days and 3 nights in Orlando at Oceanside Hotel or Holiday Inn. However, they could not make this offer later nor could they send me info in the mail. When I said I did not have the money for it now, the agent hung up on me. Smells like a SCAM

This # comes up every so often on my caller ID. It says St. Augustine,Fla. I never answer it and they never leave a messege.

When I answered it was a recording saying that there wasn't a problem with my credit card account but to call them. SOUNDS LIKE A SCAM FOR INFORMATION TO ME!
