received several calls from this number and a shandy mans vioce asking for us
Started getting a series of these phony-caller ID calls recently, e.g., UTILITIES, CONNECTING, LOCAL AREA CALL, from 904/265 or 861 numbers. I have not, do not, nor will not deal with any company, organization, agency nor individuals which/who obfuscate their caller ID. Further, I recommend to everyone who receives such calls: don't let the machine pick up; answer the call with a breathless "please hold", put your phone on hold and go about your business. Let them take as long as they need to get the point. Many supposedly worthy causes unfortunately employ fund raisers who use such sleazy tactics. Which technically enables them to legally circumvent the DoNotCall restriction. I urge recipients of these calls... don't argue, don't talk, don't even attempt to request a "Do Not Call" listing. Imagine tying up 50 lines on hold in their boiler room for hours every day! Much more effective than waiting for some government investigator to give your mundane complaint any credence or attention. Just say, "hold on please"; yes, be polite.

Total scam - say they are calling to fundraise for fraternal order of sherrifs
We didn't pick up because we didn't recognize the phone number or the name ("Utilities") on caller ID. Turns out that this phone number doesn't match any utility company in our area, so it seems fishy.
