These people ( other wise known as asshole suckers ) are scared of human voices,,they can not wipe there mouth long enough to say they have a CON to work on you. They need to try sucking BOILs,, they have a lot more goodies in them. Reject these cowards and get on with you life.

Hey Jackl, that a-hole Calvin in the "securities department" just called me back (because I called them like 20 times to pull info, with no luck). Calvin threatened me saying "this conversation is being recorded, and the authorities will be called if I continue to harrass them". Funny, I'm trying to call the cops on them for calling me every damn day!!! Yall call this number and see for yourself and see if you can get anywhere. 877-317-6098

2009-03-23 14:58:15 UTCXena

I have been getting tons of calls from this number. I am in the "Do not call list", but I guess that does not mean anything.

2009-03-20 05:02:48 UTCJackl

OK here it is. Got a call from the spoofed number stating they would reduce credit card interest rates. Pressed 1 to speak with someone. Listened to their little spill and its basically the same stuff. Heather from account services crap. The place Personal Data Systems is supposedly run by lawyers under the name My Consumer Law Group.com (Law Group PA). They want a piece of your pocket book by supposedly making payments to your credit card company on your behalf, but of course they would be paid. The office seems to be small with lots of noise in the back gound. They use spoofed numbers and were going to actually send me some BS info packet after I sent them a payment. I gave them a bogus SSN, address, name and date of birth. After listening to the sales pitch, I told him I was in law enforcement and why were they violating the Do Not Call list. Of course he said they weren't and they would be happy to remove me. I've heard they have a high turn over rate and of course they are a scam. I think I scared the daylights out of this guy by telling him what I knew. The calls won't stop because they'll have some other idiots calling you because of their high turn over rate. The only folks who can stop them are the FBI because they are calling across state lines. The FBI can work with Attourney Generals of other states. I'm sure they will change the number that they gave me but call 1-866-659-9866 and ask to speak with Calvin. I told him the entire conversation was being recorded and that the number was being traced. He was paralyzed with fear. What you can do is to record that message they leave on your phone, call them at 866-659-9866 and play the message back to them. They don’t like it very much.

The keep calling me, push 1, them tell them to take me off their list, I have no credit card debts, but they keep on calling. Surely they don't think they will get business form people they harass nearly ever single day.

2009-03-12 20:52:33 UTCClaude

they call me incessantly.....I am on the Do Not Call list, and even held for an operator and told them not to call my number again...Do not call list is not effective anymore.....Why are the phone rates going up when the service is going up? Seems that the phone companies could provide an option for people concerning unwarranted intrusion.

2009-03-12 15:33:59 UTCKat

These morons call almost every day and almost always from a different number. There is no way to block all these numbers and they would just find more even if I did. We are on the DNC list, but that makes difference to them. I'm tired of filing complaints. Nothing seems to ever happen to them. Can't SOMEBODY find SOME way to stop them. I hate them.

2009-03-12 03:13:45 UTCgehf

Did not answer call because it said Unknown Name 904-259-4351. I'm on the Do Not Call List and don't like phone solicitors. Now, whenever I get a caller like this that does not ID themself, I don't answer and google the telephone number. It never fails, I find the number on a site like this! I wish I had thought about googling these frauds a long time ago, and would have been a lot wiser for it. I'm so glad there are people out there coming here to let the rest of us know what is going on! I'm sorry, though that so many of us are being harassed like this. I wish they would just all go away and become decent human beings.

2009-03-11 21:46:06 UTCRobert Rutt

Scumb bags, scare you into trying to reviel your credit card numbers. I have reported a week ago. They did not call for about a week then the calls started again today 3/11/2008. I have informed them that I am on the federal do not call list. They clam urgent message, lower your credit card %. I a very threatening manner. They will just not stop calling. Prosicute these scumb bags.

2009-03-11 20:43:27 UTCnot fooled

um, call trace *57 costs $9 here, not $1.50. dnc doesn't work either they just call more.

2009-03-11 19:59:26 UTCBill

They have called multiple times over the last few months and I have not taken the call. Their automated message says this is a notification to reduce your rates, and it numbers how often they have made an offer. They claimed they would help to reduce rates on my credit cards and when they asked me personal information I insisted on their Dun and Brads number, or their number with Better Business. They hung up

Rude people and they call every week now for 4 months. What the ----?

2009-03-11 14:31:32 UTCelisssssabeth

Go to the FCC's website; use the following link:
esupport.fcc.gov
...to report these harrassing calls.

2009-03-10 18:59:53 UTC562

Didn't answer the phone. No message left.

2009-03-10 18:09:10 UTCICU2

I also keep getting these calls 3-4 times a week. Last week when they called, I pushed "1" to talk to a rep, when she got on the phone, I asked her who she was with, she said "card services", I then asked here where they were located she said "atlanta". I then informed her that I'm on the do not call list and that every time they called I went to the gov. website and filed a complaint, and she immediately hung up....this seemed to work for several days.. up until today. I read earlier on here this is Personal Data Systems from MacClenny Fl. I urge everyone that is getting calls from this # to go to the do not call website and file a complaint, where it ask for the co. name that is calling you put Personal Data Systems on that line and the # they called from.....maybe if they get enough complaints about this co, they'll pay them a visit and shut these fools up and close them down. It's always the "lower my cc interest rates" or "my car warranty" they're one in the same.

2009-03-10 17:38:09 UTCBill

Reverse lookup nets Two names and adresses for this number Nicole D. Barnes 11295 Debbie Lane and Melissa Perry 385 Barbra Circle doth in MacClenny FL. I suspected it was a scam.

2009-03-09 21:20:11 UTCRed

All these jerks have done is change numbers. Still a FL #, which, I bet if I call back (blocking my # of course), I'll get a recording saying the number is disconnected or no longer in service. Same old same old. Fortunately I wasn't home but even if I had been, I wouldn't have answered. The next time they'll tell you your car warranty is expiring. Same two tired old phishing scams - car warranty expiring or consolidate/lower debt. Morons. (1) My car is a brand new '09 I've had less than 6 months and (2) I have NO credit cards or outstanding debt whatsoever. DO report it to the Do Not Call list if you're on it; if they get enough complaints they'll finally do something, as they apparently did with the previous # (unfortunately I can't remember what it was). DON'T ever bother with trying to get off their calling through this number - won't happen.

2009-03-09 20:50:50 UTCbuttercup

They want to consolidate your debt, but I am good I don't need there help.

2009-03-09 18:49:17 UTCJ

They said they wanted to consolidate my credits cards, I told them I didn't now need their help and not to call back again.

2009-03-09 18:09:50 UTCBonnie

I get calls from this number constantly. It is a recording and when they tell you that you can press one to be taken off there list it dose not work. I do believe this is some kind of scam. One day its a car warranty and the next day its lower your interst rates on your credit cards. I hope these people are found out. I tried to go through Better Business Bureu but was told they can't do anything without a company name. NO LUCK there!!!

We are not in debt and we cannot seem to stop these calls. We are on the do not call list. When I asked to be removed from the call list, the person in account services hung up on me.

I get this call multiple times per week. I called back once and ask to be removed from their list and was hung up on by a man with an India accent. I tried to call right back and the number was disconected. Funny since I had just talk to someone and pushed redial. There has to be a way to stop this. I'm on the do not call list. Does anyone know how to get this stopped?

2009-03-06 22:52:00 UTCjazzy

Everyone... please understand that being on the "Do Not Call" list does not prevent scammers from calling. If they were legal, they wouldn't be doing calling you. see what I do below.

2009-03-06 22:49:51 UTCjazzy

re: 904-259-4351. I keep a loud police whistle by my phone. When I see this number and several others (some are fake 800 numbers) I answer the phone and follow directions to get a live person. In this case hit #1 and wait for the person. Blow the hell out of the whistle over and over again until they hang up. It may not stop them from calling but it sure diffuses anger and being complacent.

Upset with these people too-- have been getting several calls a week, and they always hang up. Scammers!

To stop their little game, please support the 2009 anti Caller ID spoofing Senate Bill... Senate Bill 30.
Title: A bill to amend the Communications Act of 1934 to prohibit manipulation of caller identification information.
Sponsor: Sen Nelson, Bill [FL] (introduced 1/7/2009)
you can go to
thomas.loc.gov and look it up.
Then write to your senator here to get it supported!

A similar bill came up in 2007 but was killed... let's push this one through!

2009-03-06 01:59:57 UTCKathy

These morons call every single day stating it is the last chance to lower the rate on my credit card. I have spoken to people and told them I know the number showing on caller id is not the number they are calling from. The only way to stop this nonsense is to get the US Senate to enact S.704. This is a bill making it illegal to spoof phone numbers. Congress passed it in 2007, You can go to govtrack.us for the history of the bill. It was stalled in the Senate as of 12/2007. It may have to be revived. If we all inundate our legislators to get this enacted, we may have a legal way to stop it.

Got a call from these fools again. They are Personal Data Systems in Fla. Their actual customer service number is 866-659-9866. They are calling to try to negotiate a different credit card interest rate. You can call the Fla Dept of Agriculure and file a complaint as they have jurisdiction over these idiots in Fla. Also, tape the message that they leave, call their number 866-659-9866 and play it back to them, Hi this is your last chance to get your credit card interest rate reduced BS. They hate it and will hang up on you. Funny how they don't like a taste of their own medicine.

Scam calls we have been receiving on a regular basis. When answered, we are told it is our last chance to lower our interest rate, and then instructed to press another number to speak to an agent. They will ask your credit card number. I have told them I have several cards, and could they please tell me which one they want. They immediately hang up. Another time I told them I was going to report them, and they laughed an hung up. Number and caller ID change. When I call the number, a recording tells me it is not a working number.

Called yesterday and left a voicemail. Called today and I picked up the call hoping they would have a number to punch to take our phone number off their list. The recording only offered "1" to speak to a rep and "2" for "eligibility to expire." I pressed 1 and it went to a dead line, so I guess they don't really want to talk to anyone. It's all baloney, because we don't have credit cards. It's also illegal because (1) our phone number is on the do-not-call list and (2) they're spoofing. I called the number back and got the "no longer in service" message, so they're messing with the caller ID. What is the deal? Do they think they're dialing into a computer network? What are they accomplishing with this other than to annoy everyone? Just like blogger comment spam; totally useless. We're replacing our ancient cordless phones today, and the system I've picked out allows us to block calls. Guess who's going at the top of the list?!

2009-02-21 02:45:47 UTCSteve

Ha! Another scammer offering lower interest rates on my credit card. I pressed '1' to speak to an agent, when she answered, I answered in my best announcers' voice: 'Hello, You've reached the office of the Attorney General, please hold while we trace your call." ''''CLICK'''' !!!!

Ya gotta learn to play the system to beat these toads! haha

I just received a call from this number. I did not recognize it and did not pick up. I've received several calls from a variety of numbers that play pre-recorded messages: 1) offering to lower my credit card rate; or 2) telling me that my auto warranty is expiring. Same as for other posts, whenever I tried to ask for more info the operator hung up. When I pressed "2" to remove from list it did not work.

2009-02-19 17:44:28 UTCtom

received the recording about reducing my cc rates, pressed 1 to speak to a live person and got a male who said his name was john williamson and he started his pitch and i began asking reasonable questions.."john, what is the name of this company again?...Financial Protection Center....where are you guys located? atlanta georgia, we have 5 centers, charlotte, jackson fl, orlando, (more i didn't get) and about 1000 employees, our phone number is 1-877-317-6098." he wanted a cc number to get me 'qualified', i told him i was interested, but wanted to check on his company before giving out my info and asked him for their website address, he said it was financialprotectioncenter.com (nothing there, but i did find a financialprotectioncenter.org). i told him i was interested but wanted to check them out and he said he would call back later.

10 min later, phone rings again, this time from 1-850-432-3928, same recording, pressed one got lisa something indistinguishable, who said the company was "credit services" and started the same pitch, i told her i was expecting john to call and ask her if it was the same company, she knew nothing about john williamson, but indicated that it was the same company. but when i asked questions, said she had only been there four days and put on a very harsh talking "jernard miller" who said he was the supervisor and said that he did not know john williamson and he wasn't going to call and to just give him my credit card number so he could qualify me, i told him that i needed information on his company before giving my info and he said "i have already given you information, now you tell me your credit card number, so we can get this done and would not let me speak to ask a question" i finally said that john was going to call and john was very polite and pleasant to deal with and he said "blah, blah, blah, blah blah, go ahead and wait for john, goodbye, goodbye goodbye and hung up.

i smiled and now i am waiting for my next call, i'll try to get a supervisor again without giving any info, it's fun and who knows, it just might get my number removed :)

hope this helps, keep calm and see if you can get a super

I have been receiving calls from a few different numbers including 904-259-4351. Glad to read the info on spoofing, as I was unaware of that practice. Some calls refer to a car warranty and others to lowering credit card interest. If they are trying to collect old debts, that isn't the case here. I am absolutely positive that I have no unpaid debt now or ever in the past. What other reason might they have for calling? I hang up and block the number on my phone menu option. The list is growing.......

2009-02-18 04:51:32 UTCbob

this is like many of calls you get. if you have blocked bill collectors from harassing you they have companies call you just to see if your number is still the same. sometimes they pretend they are selling something, sometimes they offer to lower your interest rate. block them all!

2009-02-17 20:52:36 UTCAH

FYI:

For anyone that might be unaware...
You can press/dial *57 from any touchtone or rotary phone to trace any harassing/unwanted phone calls. You must dial *57 after you receive the call because it will only trace the last incoming call you received. You will receive an automated message stating that the call has been traced successfully (or unsuccessfully if it could not be traced). Call Trace can trace SPOOFED calls to their real location/origination.

If you call has been traced successfully the information will be released to LAW ENFORCEMENT.

Please note - some telephone companies charge for this service. Also, you will not receive the information on the caller immediately/directly due to privacy regulations BUT the real valid info (not the spoofed info/number) will be sent to law enforcement. I strongly suggest after any calls from this company that you do a call trace. It will show law enforcement that there is continued harassment and will keep exact logs on file. Hopefully then we can get this company shut down.

For more info - contact your local phone company. There might be variations on how this service works with your phone comapny.

2009-02-17 20:09:43 UTCAH

They have called multiple times. It is an automated voice with either one of two scenarios. 1. They will tell you your car warranty is expiring or 2. They will tell you it is credit services and they want to lower your credit card interest rates. With either scenario, the automated system either asks you to press 1 to speak with memeber services or to press 2 to have your number removed from their database.

I have pressed 2 on numerous occasions but they are obviously not removing me from their list. I have also attempted to press 1 to get a human on the phone and it will tell me to hold and then I eventually just get disconnected. Today I pressed one and actually got a human on the line. When I started to explain I needed my number removed, I was hung up on once again.

The numbers that show up on the caller ID are always spoofed - they are not the companies number. The number above is actually a disconnected number if you try to call it back. I did a call trace by pressing *57 and will continue to do so to put these b*st*rds out of business.

I also plan on contacting the number/contacts provided by "Tom" below. (Thanks for the info Tom.)

2009-02-17 19:20:46 UTCTom

"Credit Services" is actually Personal Data Systems "PDS" (personaldatasys.com). They have called me at least ten times over the past year. When I asked for more information on the company, they hung up on me...until last time (I guess they don't want to be reported to the FCC & National Do Not Call Registry).

Their REAL phone numbers are 866-659-9866 & 866-451-2778. 904-259-4351 is not a working number (they spoof the caller id). Personal Data Systems represents The Consumer Law Group, P.A., 2001 W. Sample Rd., #412, Deerfield Beach, FL 33064, ph: 800-814-6756 fx: 954-691-2169 (myconsumerlawgroup.com).

Please report PDS & The Consumer Law Group, P.A. to the FCC (fcc.gov) & National Do Not Call Registry (donotcall.gov).

I armed myself with questions before the call. I was expecting them to call. Here is my transcript: 1. Is this a telemarketing call? No m'am (1st lie) 2. Will you tell me your full name? Misha Ish 3. What is the name of the organization you're calling from? Credit Services 4. What is the company's phone number? We don't have a phone line to call to (caller id reveals 904-259-4351) 5. Does that organization keep a list of all the phone numbers it's not supposed to call? No 6. I would like my phone number put on that list? Next time you get called and get the recording, press 2 if you don't want to get.called any longer.. (so I have to wait to get called again?!) 7. Can you make sure your company won't call me for any other reason? Thank you and have a good day m'am. (I repeat the question). Thank you and have a good day m'am.

I complained on the donotcall.gov site and sent my complaint to "City Attorney Frank E. Maloney, Jr. 904-259-3155 frank@frankmaloney.us" which I saw on an earlier post. We'll see if anything happens.

Recorded message saying "press 1" to lower credit card interest rate. I pressed 1 and the person said "did you press 1 to lower you interest rate?" I said, "no, I pressed 1 to find out who you are and why you're calling me." They hung up. I called the number back and it was a fake sounding recording of the standard message "the number you have called is no longer in service..."

2009-02-13 19:27:48 UTCRalph

Recorded message telling you they are your credit card company. They tell you not be be alarmed because everything is okay with your credit card. Then they tell you that your interest rates are going up unless you act now. Then they expect you to hold for a customer service rep who will take your personal credit card information and then steal your identity. This is a scam!!

Would it be useful to contact Verizon (I read here this is a Verizon number)?

they called me 9pm 2/12/09. I want this stoped. I am on the do-not call list

Also getting repeated called from them this week offering "Credit Services". They hang-up if you start asking questions. Used the link provided by SickOfIt (Thanks!) and registered a compliant with donotcall.gov. Hopefully the compliants will add up and action will be taken.

2009-02-12 19:52:18 UTCAnnoyed

They call me weekly. I now speak to a rep and start asking questions and usually get hung up on. Today when I told the rep I've asked to be removed from their call list repeatedly, she just said to select 2 when they call! I told her I was under the impression it was illegal to continue to call after I've requested they stop, she just kept repeating "press 2 WHEN they call". She of course wouldn't leave her number. I used the info i found here to file a complaint with the Do Not Call registry and I pressed *57 (Verizon customer).

The damn rep just kept laughing.

I have received calls repeatedly...once I punched #1. A young man came on..I asked who he represented and he said "All major credit cards". I said I wasn't interested and DO NOT CALL AGAIN. I must have mispoken...I still receive calls almost daily. Once I returned the call on my caller ID only to learn the number had been disconnected. Something has to be done to stop these phishing expeditions. I have notified the Florida state Attorney General. Received an email back from a sheriff. The numbers used are NOT registered in the state of Florida. She (sheriff) passed my info on to other government agencies. Maybe something can and will be done to stop this harrassment.

anyone else had dealings with "vital recovery",, I have a hunch this is them phishing for info to collect on debts.

They call every day and it started immediately after I gave them a cease and desist notice. Before this vital trecovery called me every day, sometimes multiple times. They have been harrassing me for years over a debt that I have disputed and is long past statutes of limitations. Next time they call you, and they will, Tell the operator that there is a $250,000 FTC reward for whistle blowers, ask if they have heard of "vital recovery" this might scare them straight or at least cause some nasty inhouse gossip amongst these scumbags.

2009-02-10 01:32:25 UTCGRRRRR

Recorded message telling me they had been trying to reach me for some time about my credit card account. Prompted me to press #1... so I did. A guy came on the line, asking if I was inquiring about lowering my interest rate. I said, "Yes... what credit card are you talking about?" At this point, they hung up.

2009-02-09 23:26:40 UTCMS

Obvious telescammers. They have called my house dozens of times over the last few months. I add them to the "block list" on my phone service and it does no good, because they just call back on another number later; 904-259-4351 happens to be the number du jour. I am on the DNC list. Finally reported them to the FTC today at 904-259-4351. These guys give Florida a bad name, if that is possible.

2009-02-09 17:57:03 UTCJ G

I stayed on the line AND clicked 1 so that I could speak with these people who call daily to tell them to CEASE. I am on the DNC list- not that they care. After pressing 1, a man answered asking if I pressed 1 to speak with someone aabout lowering my credit card rates. I told him I pressed 1 to speak with someone about having my NAME AND NUMBER removed from their list. He promptly hung up on me.

I get calls from these clowns about twice a week. I have $0 CC debt. If I felt I needed to reduce the interest charged, I would call the CC folks (they will usually do it if you have no late payments and it will not affect your credit rating, I did it several years ago). I have reported these scammers to the DNC folks at least twice in the last 3 months. The calls continue.

Gave name Credit Services. Said "works with your existing Visa and Mastercard to lower your rates"

Kept asking question to "qualify" me. Had to press hard to find out they want to re-negotiate my interest rates and payments with the credit card companies.

At first, their pitch came across as if they were one of my credit cards.

When I asked the full name of the company stated "Credit Services". Then when I requested my cell phone be removed from the call list, she hung up.

I have been receiving calls from (904) 259-4351 for almost a year now on a landline and on a cell phone. It is a call to lower credit card interest rates, which gives you an option to select 1 to talk to a represenative. When you do they represent themselves as "Credit Services", but they are in fact "Personal Data Systems". In the many times they have called me they have always hung up when I asked the name of their company or to talk to a manager. This time due to research on the web (800notes.com), I asked if they worked for Personal Data Systems, she stumbled for a second then said yes. I asked why they represent themselves as Credit Services, why they keep hanging up on me, and why they won't remove me from ther call list. She laughed at me! I told her that I am on the Nation Do Not Call Registry and I had reported them to the NDNCR and that I want to be removed from their call list, she said NO because I had reported them and hung up.

Also, I know with out a doubt that they got my information, at least for my cell phone from T-Mobile, as the name they asked for is only on my T-Mobile account.

904-259-4351 called and said they could reduce my credit %. I am also on the no call list. which a lot of senior Citizens are on. I think they get their calling list from the No call list, because older people are mor Gullible.
there is no agency that will do anything. Ive seen reports that are years old and nothing has been done yet. see ripoffreport.com. thats why there are so many phone frauds. and there will be probably be a lot more because of the Economy. and just look ata the credit cards and the high percentage rates they can charge. My wife has a credit card with 20 percent rate---she will never be able to pay it off. these people with that high of a percentage rage are the people that will fall for these scammers. the Government wont do a thing about it. thats one reason why the Economy is going down the drain. but the Government cant see it. they just give the crooks more money to play with.

Received a call from this number on 1/7/2009 at 7:58pm. I answered knowing it would be some sort of scammer, we are on a Do Not Call list. When I spoke to the person, woman who appeared to be laughing and giggling with some friends nearby, she offered to lower my interest rate on my credit card. I replied 'Really! Which card?' (we only have 1 card for emergencies, has a very low APR). She replied 'All of your credit cards.'. I again asked which credit card company she was calling from, she stated all of your master and visa card companies. When I stated there are many credit card companies that use Master and Visa, I want to know which of my credit card companies is she calling from. She hung up on me. Obvisiously this was a scam and she was phishing for information. I would suggest if anyone else receives this call to report them to the FTC 877-382-4357.

The automated message said that they had tried numerous times to reach me, said that I qualified to receive a reduction in my credit card interest rate and that this was my LAST chance and to press "1" to speak to a representative. There was no reference to a specific credit card company (Mastercard, Visa, etc.) so I hung up. In the past few weeks I have received several phone calls from different locations in Florida, both during the day while I'm at work (no message left) and in the evening when I'm home (don't answer if I don't recognize the number on caller ID). Interestingly enough, when I asked her how they were able to call using a number that is "disconnected/no longer in service" she said that they either use a machine that gives out a false number to your caller id, that it's a rollover number for their automatic dialer, or that they are not actually using a land-line, which is why its not a functioning number. She said they are scamming to get your credit card number.

I echo what Fed Up says "Amazing what these scam artists do!! Called the number back two seconds after they hung up and it was "A number no longer in service or disconnected" I cannot believe that with the technology today they cannot stop these scum of the earth types from making up phony numbers!!"

This number calls me every single day even though I am on the Do Not Call list. When I push the button to speak with a representative and ask them to remove my number, the person hangs up on me in mid sentence. I have filed a complaint to the FCC but the calls continue, every day. When I call the number back I get an intercept message that the number has been disconnected. How can I get these people to stop?

Same as all of the other notes stated above. When I asked for some information to look them up on the net as I wanted to verify what he was telling me - renegotiate interest rates - does not affect credit report, he said someone would call me back and then quickly hung up. Within 10 minutes i received a call from an "unknown number and unknown name" and they hung up as soon as I said "Hello". I am calling the FTC that a previous poster noted: 877-382-4357. I hope the number is correct. btw, I also have received numerous calls regarding this situation but this is the first time I decided to "talk to" a person.

OK... I called Verizon about this company and asked how I could stop future calls. Of course I added them to my "Call Intercept", but he said that if I dial *57 to activate call trace, the number they are ACTUALLY calling from will be sent to their unlawful call center. I can then contact my local police department, file a report, and they can legally obtain the information and provide to me. Without delay, I hung up and activated call trace. I need to wait a minimum of two weeks before filing a police report.

Recorded message about lowering the interest on my credit cards.

2008-12-22 18:35:47 UTCVirginia

These people just called me, and in a very threatening tone, told me it was my LAST CHANCE to lower my credit card interest rate, press 1 to do so, 2 not to. Only thing is : I do NOT OWN a credit card!!!!!!!!!! And thank goodness because the tone of voice was so scary I thought they were going to cut me off of something or send police over... Seriously, this is a SCARY message, intended to frighten people into hitting 1 or 2 and engaging with them! I actually am sorry that I hung up now, because I would have given them a piece of my mind! It is SCANDALOUS to do this. And I am on the DO NOT CALL list too!!!
I tried to call the number back, in order to tell them how outrageous I think this is, but when I dialed back the number, i got a message saying it has been "disconnected"... interesting... don't know what kind of SCAM these folks are up to, but it's clearly a scam...

There appears to be no enforcement of the Do Not Call law. I have emailed my Senators and representative to complain and to ask that the only exception to Do Not Call be an already established business relationship, such as your credit card companies. Be sure to report violations on the FTC web, donotcall.gov.

VM saying this was the last chance to lower my interest rate on credit card. I wish it was my last chance so they would quit calling. Sometimes I wish I could reach through the phone and...

2008-12-16 15:42:56 UTCBrad from MI

Received an automated phone call at 10am. Said that they had "tried numerous times to reach us". Message said that I qualified to receive debt reduction, and this was my LAST chance. Pressed "1" to talk to a person.

"Lisa" came on the line, I asked her what previous business relationship her company, "Credit Services" had with me, and she said that if I did business with ANY major credit card, that gave her company the RIGHT to call me. She kind of trailed off on that explanation, then hung up suddenly. Filed an online complaint, and *69 told me the number was 904-259-4351.

VM message from "my credit card company" for last chance to lower my interest rates. I'm on DNC list. Report to DNC.

2008-12-11 23:06:43 UTCJan

Voice Mail stated call was: "Last chance to reduce Credit Card Rate"

2008-12-10 19:07:00 UTCKay

A recorded message said this was the last time they were going to give me the chance to lower the interest rate on my credit card. All I had to do was push 1. I didn't... they didn't say which credit card they represented and I don't ever talk about credit cards on the phone anyway.

2008-12-09 06:23:28 UTCD

This was a recorded message claiming to be about something to do with my Credit Card and Credit status
I am on the Do not call registry

2008-11-07 22:59:34 UTCleah

a machine started to leave a message, then stopped in the middle. No one I know.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
