I used to work for Acrobat as well and all it they are asking is basically questions about your banking, they never ask for account numbers or how much money you have in the bank. It is not telemarketing and here is the thing, you tell them off, they are just going to call you again. You have to say take my name off your list and you won't be called again for that survey. However it is a help to the banks that serve you if you take five-six minutes of your time and you don't have to answer any questions that you do not want to.
What's up. I used to work for Acrobat. The survey you guys are getting called for is a very general satisfaction study being conducted on behalf of the banks. They just ask the name of the bank so the program will input the name into the satisfaction questions. Nothing personal is asked, and if you feel a question IS personal, the representative will skip the question for you, they don't want to make anyone uncomfortable. Only question you cant decline, otherwise the survey terminates is Which bank you deal with, which really isn't that big of a deal to tell, the interviewers don't care what bank you use, they just need it to begin the survey with you. From my experience they really do appreciate getting a survey complete, it makes the time fly and its nice to speak to people. Takes only about 6 minutes of your day, so next time just do it, its not that bad. ALSO, if you'd like, at the end of the survey there is a "Complete, but do not call again, EVER" Button, and you can request the interviewer choose that for you and you wont be bothered again. Anything else you want to know about Survey research, just reply :-] (Its NOT telemarketing, telemarketing is selling things)
Acrobat Research called again today with another survey involving what I consider to be my private financial/banking information.
I declined to participate and asked them not to call again. We shall see.
Called a few times, did not leave a message.
I caught the initials today : GFK

Said was a research survey on behalf of banks; would take 5-15 minutes. When asked what type of questions, he said they'll ask "what specific bank your company deals with" and questions so that they can improve their customer service with you.
When he said "specific" bank, I declined to participate!

I think this is a telemarketer. They called twice during the day and hung up both times when my answering call attendant picked up.
