my friend was called from this number so I decided I would look it up. The guy claimed that he was owed $500 from social security... assuming it was a scam, my friend told him he had a change of address to 1600 Pennsylvania ave as of 7 years ago. They guy was obviously from out of country because he had no idea where that was... even worse when my friend told him he had changed his name to George W. Bush the guy was still clueless. Avoid this number at all costs, unless you feel like screwing with them. It was funny. After about 20 minutes the guy finally hung up on my friend, we'll see if he calls back.

Calling and calling..no response when I answer..very annoying

got the same phonecall starting about 2 days ago...these jerks dont quit callin or talk back to me im going to report it. i work at a police station and i still cant figure out the number. now tell me thats not wierd

These calls started out of the blue a couple of weeks ago. At first it was about once a day. Now it's about seven or eight times a day. The calls start at about 9AM and go until about 9PM. It's driving me nuts!

I got phone calls after phone calls from this number. Finally i got so upset i called my phone company they told me how to block the call from my phone since then no calls. Just today 1/3/2008 my sister called me to do a reverse phone lookup on a phone number as soon as she said the number i told her that was the same number calling me.

This number has called me numerous times in the last few days even during hours not typical for telemarketers. I don't answer and they don't leave a message.

I am getting calls from this number at least 3 times a day.. when you call if back the number does not exist i have filed a complaint..

They have called only once but when I answered the phone, there was only silence on the other end!

This number has been calling my cell all weekend and today iFinally picked it up. They told me I was approved for a 1500 loan plus a 20,000 car loan. They had all of my informarion except banking and social security number when they asked for it I hung up the phone.Then the same woman called me back pretending to be a supervisor from an unavailable number asking for the information again. I told her to leave me alone and that I would not give it to her. No call since.

Annoying people aren't they? I received several calls from this number in the last week or so. I don't answer numbers I do not recogonize.

Started receiving calls from this number today. Received a total of 6 calls in a three hour period with no message being left. Iwill not return a 900 number as I have no business with anyone with sucha a number. SInce it was my home number being called, I was able to put a block on it with my phone company. I only hope that another 900 number is not used in the process. Lets see what happens....

I've received only one phone call from this number but after reading this website, I am expecting more to come. I surely hope not. I DID answer this call when it came in but there was no one on the other end. They had either already hung up or they hung up when I answered.

I get this call all times of the day and nite. don't know who or what it rings just enough to get my attn. when i pick up its already hung up showing a missed call from this number when I dial back it states the number i dialed is not a working number. so far received 5 since 8AM and it is now 10 am.

I recently started to get calls from this number about 2 hours apart. I answered the first time, but got hung up on. No one seems to know what this is, but it is getting annoying.

Received call from this number at 7:21pm PST. Man on phone knew my name. Forgot what he said his name was. Man had thick accent. Stated he was from United Lending and that I was pre-approved for a $15,000.00 loan. I interrupted his spiel and advised him that he was calling a cell phone number and that it was costing me money to listen to his scam. He hung up. Mike B is right, I filled out something last week (Friday) and the calls haven't stopped. They have called me 10 times today and they started at 12:42pm.

I can tell you guys how they got your info. If you have filled out any online winning scam pop ups or signed up for a free magazen subscription. That is how they get your info by you providing the information your self onine. That is how they got me, I filled out something on myspace.com and it started like a week later.

They called us wanting back account number saying we qualified for a 1500 loan.

This number has shown up multiple times in the past week (since October 1st) on my caller ID. I don't answer "Unavailable" numbers, but it's annoying to have your phone ring 5+ times a day from a 900 number.

This is an internet scam. I was able to find a customer service number 1-866-585-1725 . They try and get your checking acct # and charge your card as soon as they get it. It is an out of country number. Check this web site for more details.

This is an autodialer call and is set if you pick up the first time it will call you repeatedly and verify someone picked up. Then they sell the info to others and you get scam calls! DO NOT pickup the phone. If you have VoIP *phone service from cable or over internet. they can get your info when you pick up and then they have everything they need to call you, Name, Address, and Phone info (number and service provider)Call your service provider and tell them to block this number and it should stop it. This should be free as it is a security risk on their end and could spurt lawsuits. Make sure they don't charge you for this!

Then is how often they've called within the past 2 days! This is ONLY from when i started keeping track.

This is just a few, the previous ones have already rolled off my caller ID on the cell phone. I answered it one time and said take me off your call list. Still getting calls. I tried to return and said calls not accepted.

Started calling me at 9:30 this morning as just received the 6th phone call now att 5 p.m.

I am a 19 year old college student with Boost mobile, a nextel pre-paid service. I just got one call, i heard my phone vibrating, ut didn't answer it in time. i just now tried calling it back from my cell, and i got an error message from my cell phone company saying i could not complete the call as dialed. does anyone know if you have to put a 1 before the 900 number to dial it from some telephone lines? also, it looks more like the majority of these calls are directed at cell phone or work numbers. i know a while back there was some talk of a national cell phone directory by verizon and sprint and all the major carriers.

Called my voicemail only once so far today (9/1/07). Usually when I get no message calls to my voicemail it doesn't happen more than once or twice in a single day but have yet for it to happen from the same number EVERY day.

As for those getting the calls from the 900 line on their cells and tries calling it back...
More than likely the reason you're not able to call back is that 900 numbers can't be called from cells. I could be wrong as I've never tried it, myself. However, I have a friend who's also decently knowledgable about lots of stuff - as am I - maybe I'll ask him about the possibility of calling 900s from a cell.

These people called my cell phone with this number. And of course, did not leave a message. I usually don't answer numbers that I don't recognize anyway. I suggest NOT calling back this number, just in case it's not one of those numbers that charges your phone bill at a $2000.00 a minute scams!... Just ignore it and if it gets too bad, go ahead and report the number.

I bought a car in March. But as stated previously, the calls started after I called Citibank Customer Support about a debit card problem. I called Cingular - AT&T and they said they couldn't block just the one number. So I got them to change my number at no charge because of harassing phone calls. A pain the ass, but no more calls

If it is because of Monster.com, that would explain why cell phones and businesses have been contacted.

They call my T-Mobile cellphone. I am trying to find out how they got my number - I don't shop at TJ Maxx, but I have submitted my resume to Monster.com. Those are the only two big security leaks I've heard of recently. If you shopped at TJ Maxx with a credit card in the past year, your card number is at risk. If you submitted a resume to Monster.com in the past year, your contact information is at risk. Has anyone else here posted information to Monster.com?

I started receiving calls from this number on 8-29-2007 and continue to receive them on 8-30-2007. It's becoming very irritating.

I started getting these calls on 8/23 - just before I went into the Dentist's chair. I answered and they asked for me by my full name. I told them there was no one here by that name and I then had a quiet weekend. However, the calls started again on Monday. Has anyone here had Cingular Wireless which was taken over by AT&T. These started happening following AT&T's takeover and I'm going to complain enough to make them STOP!!!!

A guy called to say that we won a cash advance of $1500 and wanted our information but I asked him to send me brochures of their company before me giving out my Social Security number. THe got offended saying that their format is secured, then asked him again but he kept saying that they are secured. So I ask why if you are a big company you won't have any problem sending me a brochure or company history via email. HE said never mind then..Then hang up!! THen not even a minute later the same number called again saying that we won a $1000 shopping spree!! I said just unsubscribe us from them, not even saying thank you or anything the guy hung up on us.

I dont answer calls from numbers I do not know.
Calls have been coming in over the last couple of days. Ive gotten at least 10 so far.

These people called my work # on Sunday, 10:35am, 1:25pm, 3:27pm, 5:48pm and 8:41pm, all on my caller id.

i live on the west coast but i'm on bussiness on the east coast this number keeps calling my cell at 1130 pm at night and called five times but no one answered when i picked up on the fourth time and fifth time the phone only rings one and a half times when they call these people need to be reported

they wanted to loan me some money called at 10:35 PM asked them where he was located. of course he would not answer. lots of noise in the back ground, must be a large boiler room. i could hardly understand him.

We're having the same problem. We had a scam in our area a couple of years ago that was featured on local news stations. If the call was answered, the call was forwarded to another number in which the recipient of the call was unknowingly billed outrageous amounts on their telephone bills. I recommend reporting these calls to the police as well as your telephone service provider!

Got only one call so far on my cell phone, will not answer since it is a 900 number.

I called the number back and a recording of a MATL error message played back. Weird

i have recvd so far a number of 3 calls. same details in regards with when i answer calls, etc... just to be safe no one answer the calls b/c they might be able to charge if u pick up?? who knows. i am going to report this, i would advise everyone too just incase someone does get ripped off!

I started getting these calls yesterday afternoon on my work phone at 3:32 PM, then 4:19Pm. Then started today at 9:38AM, 10:14AM, and again at 10:54AM. I have yet to answer these calls. Not sure how they got my work number and I am unsure of the carrier as well but more than likely it's AT&T

I am with T-Mobile and have been receiving these calls for the last 2 days. I tried to call it back last night and got the same "you are not allowed to call this number" this is insane. Some people have nothing better to do then bother other people. You should be able to take legal action against people like this.

Me again - I just talked with Verizon and they told me that you won't be charged for the call unless you answer it - at which time you will be charged for the peak minutes but nothing else. Of course, if you give them any account information, they could take you for a huge ride. Verizon says the best thing to do is just not answer the calls at all.

Calls from this 900 started on my cell yesterday - however, I'm not AT&T. I'm with Verizon and have been for 12 years. I think I'm going to call Verizon to make sure there are no charges and to see if there is anything can do. This is annoying but be careful trying to answer - you may get charged!

I would bet it is from Nigeria, England, Canada or a Muslim Group. The usual bullshit to make money from people!!!

they called my husbands cell phone 5 times in 4 minutes. even asked for my husband by name. person that called is male, has hispanic accent.

Brand new cell phone and activation on 8/17. First call from this number was on 8/18. Cell company is AT&T seems to be a pretty common occurance...anyone else on AT&T? Is it primarily AT&T customers?

They call after 8 pm without stopping called 5 times in a row. I finally answered the phone. The gentleman with an East Asian - Indian accent said I won a shopping spree,
he hung up. 5 minutes later a lady called back again with an Indian accent. I told her to remove me from her mailing list.

I have no idea who it is or where they got my number from as it is a cell phone.Calling back I just get a message that says you are not allowed to call this number. I started getting these calls yesterday AM. Since then I have received just about 25 calls. I think its harrassment!

Gosh will this number ever stop calling me. I don't answer the phone because it's a 900 number hello and for it to be calling my cellphone who ever this is calling must be out of their mind. Somebody needs to crackdown and find out who this is.

I also have had about five calls from this number on my cell phone throughout the day yesterday, starting at around 9:30am and continuing until about 6pm yesterday evening. Again, no messages left.

They are spammers pulling random numbers and hoping you answer the phone to charge you. This needs to be reported as I don't care to answer it by accident. If you have answered it, I would contact your carrier just to verify you didn't get charged anything...

Have had at least 6 calls from this number today. ONE of them, I didn't say hello, just picked up the phone, and then, only then, I heard a person with a foreign accent asking for my DAUGHTER!! I didn't reply, they disconnected the call within 1 to 2 seconds after asking for her by her full name. I don't know who it is, but I want it stopped. I'm calling someone, even if it's the police. Doesn't it seem odd that there are only reports of people recieving calls from this number only yesterday and today?

OK..I just received a call from this number. The person on the other end knew my full name. I was wondering if it was a bill collector but bill collectors do not have my cell phone. It seemed to be a foreign person, maybe hispanic ethnic in background. Does anyone get the same call from this person? I called it back and the recording said that the person does not want to accept calls from a cellphone or on their cellphone...something like that.

Interesting! This number called me at WORK at least four times this morning (8/20) and leave no messages. Make that five... I just got another call.

I'm not sure whether this helps or not, but I just started getting calls from this number today, and after several times of no answer, I added them to an 'ignore me' entry in my cell phone address book (yes, they are calling my cell phone). This entry is set to always ring 'silent, no vibration' so I'm not hassled by them so much.

When I was adding this number to the ignore me list, I notices it is only one digit off from the other number on my ignore me.

Coincidence, or the same call center using a 900 number to try to profit off of people who might call to say "don't call me anymore"?

I can't seem to loacate who this is, calls, calls, calls.. might be reporting this to the FTC if it continues.

Yesterday 8/19, received at least 10 consecutive calls from this number. At first my husband answered and when we tried calling it back the message states "you are not allowed to call this number", oh really well they should not be able to call and annoy me! they will not leave a message, and when you try to answer you can hear someone on the other end but they abruptly just hang up.

got a call saying I won $1000 certificate except I had to pay for shipping $1.95. Then I said no thanks. They seemed to know my name and address, not sure from where.

At first, would call EVERY 10-15 minutes while I was trying to nap, then I got sick of it, picked it up and just hung it right back up..Now it's calling EVERY 2-5 minutes..NO exaggeration...will NOT leave a message..
