Who Called Us

This time it was somebody calling on behalf of Office Depot. They were calling my work number, which is perfectly legal. I dragged it out a bunch because we are a big corporate account of Office Depot, so it was kind of fun.

Anyhow, I finally told them to put me on their "do not call" list.

I been getting calls from this number "888-862-3983" everyday now for a week. I finally answered the phone today and here it was someone with an india voice on the other line , he new my last name and ask if that was me he was speaking to I =said yes in english he then hung up on me.

I dropped Sprint over two months ago...but kept my number I have gotten at least one call a day since 5-4-07...I tried to call back too, nothing but a busy signal. I just registered at the do not call #, but can't complain for a month....SUCKAGE! This really pisses me off because I already figured out Sprint sucks and they're still calling me...

This number called me today for the first time. They actually called me twice today. Sounds like I'm in for a major headache.

Got 3 calls today. When I answer, no one there. On 4th call, woman says something, but audio is bad and I tell her I can't understand her. Then she says "do you speak spanish?" I say no, then she reads off some message & I have no idea what she said.


If this is sprint/nextel, then I'll switch to someone else.

always getting call and no body talk. All day long and sometimes early mornings, there is a place to call back to stop this.

These peolple need to be stopped!! They are so annoying. I have Nesxtel, I'm thinking of switching this is ridiculous...

They've been calling me too for about a month now. I've called Sprint CSR 3 times and the retentions department twice.

I'm fed up...about to switch to Verizon.

Wtf? I emailed ecare@cc.sprintpcs.com and their response is " I need to access to your account" haha with horrible grammar. Theres no way I'm given them my information? I would not email them through ecare@cc.sprintpcs.com. Now it seems they have my email and I'm getting spam from there. You've been warned. Im thinking this site was set up as a scam also, only good side effect was the calls have stopped, but I'd send them the email through a dummy email if you can.

i get a call from this phone number 4 to 6 times a day im sick of it this phone numbe rused to talk in spanish but now they just hang up and dont say a word

I have been recieving a phone call from (888) 862-3983 for two days know and i am getting really annoyed because they call and when I answer they hang up. Whenever I call them back the line is always busy. Its good to know that Im not the only one. Also kinda freaky cuz its a pain in the butt. But hey GOOGLE works for everything!

I get this call everyday, most days more than once, today I have gotten it about 7 times so far. I just found this site so if they call back im going to say "Hola?" then proceed to yell every spanish word i can think of form high school vocab.

They call me three times a day! No one seems to be on the other line and they disconnect at about 9 secs.

Steps to fix problem
1. Ask your telephone provider to get your number removed from their Telemarketing database.
2. Also, if you do not wish to receive marketing calls from other companies, I recommend you to sign up for the 'Do not call list. This can be done by visiting the following Web site:donotcall.gov

I keep receiving calls from this number on a daily basis for the last 3 days. When I answer the call, nobody is on the line and the call is dropped (I believe they hang up). It looks to me that the owner of the number is probing for real phones to later call and try to sell something. I want these calls to stop immediataly.

THEY BEEN CALLING ME FOR THE PAST 2 WEEK OR SO WHWN YOU ANSWER NOBODY TALKS. I DON'T ANSWER IT ANYMORE. I GET 2 OR PHONE CALL EVERY DAY.

I just emailed sprint and wrote The following number 888-862-3983 keeps calling my cell phone everyday and hanging up. Many people are complaining about this same problem. Please help us to block this number from calling your sprint customers.

If sprint hired them then they need to fix this problem because I will cancel my sprint account and change my provider if this continues.

Yo, true..i get calls from this stupid number..3-4 times a day also... hate these fuckers.. whats weird is that on the weekend..they dont call..but as soon as weekday comes...They start again..

I live in Houston and have been receiving calls from this number 3-4 times a day, almost everyday for a week. It's driving me nuts. I'm about to cancel my Sprint plan over it. I answer the phone and there's just silence. I was relieved to find this site.

I got like 6 calls from this number and then I answer and they hang up. When I call them back it says that this number is no longer in service. I called Sprint and they could not track this number. They said they couldn't do anything but if the problem persists to change my # at no charge.

Like everyone on this board, I'm getting calls from 888.623.3982 CONSTANTLY! On average I get about 3 calls a day all week long--which is pissing me off. I've answered (in English) to no avail. I'm thinking about answering in Spanish, if they don't answer I'm liable to curse them out in two languages. Is Sprint really behind this? I already have their service--what more do they want?!

I get a call from this number everyday around 11 a.m. central time. Next time they call, im giong to answer in spanish.

I just got one call right now, I get one about everyday around this time. Finally today they actually ansewered since I don't speak spanish and they asked for the account holder, and when I started demanding some information on who they were they hung up. I say all of us get together and go to the police in our part of the country, or atleast tell some local media outlet. These calls are ridiculous I almost got kicked out of class because of them.

They have been calling me for about three weeks now. I do not know who it is.

I've been getting called by this number every so often, but now it's becoming almost an everyday thing. I get a call between 5:40 pm and 5:50 pm, and then another one between 7:00 pm and 7:15 pm. I drive more than the average person, so everytime I get a call from this number, I'm driving. When I answer, since I answer in English I guess, I get air and I end up hanging up. The call takes my attention away from the road and is therefore becoming a driving hazard. When I call back that number, like some people on this board, I get a busy signal, which means that either a) the person(s) responsible for these calls are illegally tampering with telephony aparatus and looping the number so that it's always busy, b) they have somehow spoofed the phone number, or c) they call using phone cards, which would make them virtually untraceable. If they are asking for money/credit card numbers/financial information of any kind, I WOULD ADVICE NOT TO GIVE THEM ANYTHING. IF ANYONE CAN GET AN ADDRESS FROM THESE BASTARDS, PLEASE PUBLISH IT ON THIS BOARD SO THAT THE AUTHORITIES CAN APPREHEND THESE CRIMINALS.

They call every day (866-862-3983) Mon-Sat at the same time, I will ignore them until they give up or I get fed up and file with the FCC. Thanks for this info, now I know its a darn telemarketer! Grrrr

I answered this call last Saturday. A girl told me in Spanish that this was a call from sprint and that they wanted to send me a new phone. She then told me that I could activate both phones , the new one and my current one, for $50 a month. I said I didn't need two phones, but if they wanted to send me the phone it was ok. End of that conversation. Then my phone rang while i was in the shower. It was the same number. I tried to call back but it was busy all the time. Now I'm getting annoyed. I don't think I'll answer again, especially after reading this page. Thanks for the info.

I had this problem with a different phone # calling so I changed my cell # with sprint. Now I'm getting this 888-862-3983 calling me. What a pain.

They called me today again, I spoke with them in Spanish, they knew how many minutes my plan was and wanted to sell me some kind of promotion. I called the customer department, they said is 3rd party. I was furious, I asked how they got my number in the first place and she said the issues have been made known to the managers already yet she had not heard anything back. Then she said if I had Direct calling disable. I guess if you have direct calling enable 3rd party companies call you selling phones plans etc. She disable my Direct Calling and told me to wait a week or so to see if I keep getting more 888 numbers. Will post again in a couple of days

then called nextel/sprint customer support, they created a ticket which is being escalated ( if you believe that ). The rep said it is probably from a 3rd party and they most likely cannot do anything about it.

Sprint is at it again. If you get a call, answer in spanish and they will answer and try and sell you something, if you answer in english, they hang up and you can't call back to complain i used to get calls from 888-657-6537 and 866-847-4509 complain to spring at executive.offices@sprint.com, you will get a response. next i will file with fcc
