I just want to add, I had a build issue my Dell computer That I ordered was not built with the parts That I was being billed for (getting charged for stuff not in computer). I was being overcharged and called many times. just so much hassle dealing with Dell. I decided to stop payment and never paid them another dime! The problem for me is still there it has been several years and quite, but you and I know it is posted out there. I dont hate dell computers just the shady practice of dealing with dell face to face. I had a great experiance buying a Dell from walmart they have great customer service and they are a good buffer to have between you and Dell, walmart will help you with all your questions and if you have a return they will be there for you. You do only have a 15 day return but you have a year warrenty that walmart enforces that way you never have to bother calling Dell yourself! If you like Dell try walmart or go online to walmart. BUT DONT GET TANGLED UP IN DELLS CREDIT OR THE CUSTOMER SERVICE YOU WILL END UP GETTING OVERCHARGED!
CALLS CAN HAPPEN FROM 8 AM TO 9 PM THE DEBTORS TIME... THEY CAN CALL AS MANY TIMES AS THEY WANT UNTILLLLL THEY LEAVE A MESSAGE.... THEN ITS CONSIDERED A CONTACT. SO ANSWER THE PHONE TAKE A MESSAGE AND CALLS WILL STOP TILL THE NEXT DAY ITS THAT SIMPLE... IF YOU WANT THE CALLS TO STOP PERMANATLY THEN PAY THE BILL AND STOP COMPLAINING. YOU SIGNED THE CONTRACT AGREEING TO INTREST AND FINANCE CHARGES AND ITS NOT THE COLLECTION AGENCIES FAULT THAT YOU!!!!!! THAT YOU DIDN'T READ THAT AGREEMENT BEFORE TAKING THE MERCHANDISE FROM THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR. SO GET OVER IT PAY THE BILL AND THE CALLS WILL STOP
Read the contract before you sign. Don't blame the salesman nor the collector. You know what interest is. You can pay the minimum amount for 10 years and will never pay any balance off. Duh. It's not how much you paid, it's how quick you paid it. Duh.
How many of you ignorant individuals even read or understood the contract that "YOU" signed when you signed up for the the credit application? You - the debtor, failed to adhere to your "Legal" obligation to pay back the debt that you owe!. Encore reps educate and advise the cusomer of many payment options to help them get out of debt. Encore has an extensive training progam that all employees must pass in order to "Help" all consumers. Maybe, just maybe, if all the "DEBTORS" who are complaining about the debt they owe would try to make an effort to pay instead of using their extra funds on want to purshase items instead of have to payments. They would realize that they are the issue, not the companys that try to make a differece inn helping others. Get off the internet and stop playing the victum and help yourself and find a job or an addition job and pay "YOUR" dept and stop playing the blame game and pay you bill and the collection calls would stop. The choice is yours. Think about it. Who is a fault here....hummmm...if you owed me money... I would make every legal effort to get it!

they are just doing their job. I guess they collect for Bank of America, Dell, Capitol One, Chrysler, and a bunch of other companies.. they also use an auto-dialer..very agressive collection company
Collections agency- Capital One
Encore doesn't just work for Dell. I've been avoiding the call, as I'm paying off my bills as I can (grad school has its drawbacks).
The no-call-list isn't at issue, though. This isn't telemarketing, it's about a business agreement you have with a company. As much as I dislike the calls, I mostly just dislike the reminder that I messed up. They're just doing they're job by putting you on an autodialer.
A Dell account is a credit account. If you dont understand credit then don't take out an account. Making the minimum payments the way that people granting credit make their money. Do you think the time value of money is free? Just like credit cards are not for maintaining a balance, neither are charge accounts.
I know that I am behind with my dell account - am in a debt relief program - Dell knows this, Encore knows this, but they are using strong arm tatics and will not back off. I have 2 dell computers that I have paid more than they are worth over the past 5 years and still have a balance that is ridiculous. If this was any other company my acct would have been paid by now. The calls from India are a joke. I just do not answer my cell phone any more. The passive- agressive tatics that they use are emotinally draining. glad I found this site and I am not alone. I hate Dell and will not recommend their company to anyone.
do not know who is calling, have no dell products but this is living hell!
I will never buy again from this company and I think there should be a legal limit set on collecion practices. Due dilligence is one thing - but harrassment is another. Is there any governing agency that this collection company answers to???? I know we are all behind on our payments but sheesh....if we are giving them something...it seems like the law would prevent the harrassment...just wait till they start calling you at work! My $700 computer is now almost $2000 and paying it down is impossible...besides the fact that no one at Dell speak ENGLISH - good grief. Pass the word - never buy from DELL.
They ignore cease and desist letters as well. Dell employees can't be understood, they have NO programs to help temporary financial problems. I make up to 4 payments a month and they STILL sent TWO collections agencies after me this month PLUS their OWN calls. Dell sucks.
This is Encore - encorecapitalgroup.com. They also have these numbers:
908-854-1973
410-968-7953
651-204-1337
They have been calling my daughter's cell number (we recently got the number). The cell phone is restricted to only people in the contact list so it drops all other calls. Their machine called her cell phone every minute over the course of three hours last night.
They are a very aggressive collection company. When I tried to have them remove my daughter's cell number for their call list, they became rude and harassing. I would like to press charges. I have the records.
The other collection agengies that were calling the number gladly removed the number from their system.
These ERMI people for Dell have called me up to 12 times in one day AND they have called like every 30 seconds to a minute apart 5 and 6 times in a row. Bought a Dell computer almost 4 years ago with a credit limit of $1500 and now it is pushing $2000. You can't get these accounts paid down and the outsourcing they do make it nearly impossible to understand what's being said. I will NEVER buy another Dell!
encore you can kiss my butt
Told me they had my Social Security #, and I would have problems if I did not retyurn their call.
Cassandra did not identify the company in her voice message and when I called back the recording did not state the company's name. If this is Dell's collection agency then there has been a mistake since I have no Dell products.
re there any rules about collection calls I mean they call from 12 different numbers from dawn to dust mon through sunday. There is no end
It was "Chris", and from reading these posts, he is apparently from DELL
I will never buy another damn thing from "DELL" a damn $1300 dollar lap top is costing me damn near $3500...From this stupid ass. I have been paying but its not enought they want more. People in hell want Ice Water too..Go to Hell DELL!
Once again DELL (this time their collection people)....whatever you pay them is not enough. Even if you call DELL...they don't understand you due to the call being outsources.
Yes it was that Damn "DELL" I have been paying them according to them its not enough they want more..im like get bent!!
The hounds of hell calling from Dell
Dell Collection Agency
The company that called said they were Encore a collection agency for Dell.
Encore, they are a collections agency. For mine, it was Dell.
Come Collections company
