How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

I get 2 calls a day from them. I tell them to stop but they wont.
This number called my work, looking for a former employee. They were nice when told no one worked at the location by that name. i see from the comments that it is Discover Business Card. Just wonder if it is really legit.
The person calling said, "My name is (I didn't understand what they said their first name was) Gonzalez. I'm making a courtesy call. Is (the owner of our company) busy?" I said no and asked if I could tell them who was calling. She said, "Oh, that's okay. I will call back tomorrow." I said okay, and a minute's time passed before they hung up the phone. They just stayed on the line for a minute and then hung up. Who would call and ask for the owner of a company by name and then decide to call them the next day when the person they are calling is available to speak to them? We received this call after business hours.
Why not try and send a fax to their number. That way they will get repeat calls for a while, depending on how your fax machine is set up.
They've called me three times since my last post here.
I've resorted to a new tactic. They're still calling, but maybe they'll stop soon.
Here's what I do: After I tell them I'm not interested in the card, they continue to badger me, as if I've said nothing. Then I ask if they use caller ID there. They say no. Then I tell them that when their phones are ringing every other minute for the next half hour and the caller hangs up when they answer, that will be me calling.
Try it- it's fun! It may be a pain for them with just me calling, but imagine if just a small percentage of the other people they're pissing off did it- might change their tune. Remember, it's a toll-free call: 888-577-4676

don't know who this is...but they keep calling! always late at night
These guys call my business phone at least once or twice a day. They always hang up if they get my machine. They have usually hung up before I have a chance to answer and say hello.
I called them back and spent 15 minutes trying to get the person to find my phone number on their list so that she could put it on their "do not call list". When she finally found it in their records, she told me that it would take up to 30 days to effectively put the number on their "do not call list". At that point I asked what they were calling about in the first place. She explained that it was a solicitation for Discover Business Card. I told her that I was not interested in a Discover business card, and started to ask if they would stop calling now, but I was disconnected before the words were out of my mouth.
This suspicious operation has called every day for the past three weeks. They called five times on Saturday. They never leave a message. If they are supposedly calling for Discover Business Card as suggested by other comments, it doesn't make sense because they are not calling during regular business hours. I tried to call them back and have them delete my number from their system but of course whoever answers claims they have no record of my name or number. Then they call back later that evening when no one is around. Rat bastards !!!
Persistent. They claim to be from Discover Business card but only the number comes up on caller ID. They ask for your SSN and other personal info (not just business info). I was "pre-approved", yet they seemed to have little info on me or my business. When I called back their call center the same girl answered the phone.

Interesting comments. I don't have Discover and don't want it...so why would they keep calling my UNLISTED cell phone!!! I really dislike solicitations and telemarketer companies!!
Jsut got a call at 5:10 - asked to speak to me.
Did not leave a message - if it is Discover I have an account - but up to date on payment - so I don't know what they would want from me.
Wanted to give me a Discover Business Card. I told them I didn't own a business and they hung up.
They called me all the time and don't leave a message. My number is unlisted! I am tired of it.
edit - I just returned the call and it is Discover Business Card. I do not HAVE a Discover card, period! UGH!!!
