It does not matter if your on the do not call list! Surveys, charities, and political, and people not selling you anything can call all they want get your facts straight or shut up!

When you get dead air is when the auto dialer is connecting to you and if you wait for a response someone will answer its not some conspiracy to find out when your home, its computer lag! If you don't know what your talking about you should not talk! The more times you open your mouth the more opportunities you have of putting your foot in it!

Western Wats is the largest survey company in the united states and all the surveys are confidential to both parties! Big companies, political groups and market research firms hire them to get important public views! Most of the employees are college students trying to make ends meet so if you care at all about other peoples lives and not just your own you will take the time to answer the 5-15 min. survey and help them and their family make a living, not waste their time and cost them pay raises! Being a human being is not too hard!

I didn't answer but they have been calling me all day. They must have called me one time at least 4 or 5 times in one hour alone!

I was only off by 52 minutes as they just called me at 8:52pm EST pieces of shit.

I called them back today and it is for a credit card offer. I gave them my number and told them that if they did not stop calling me every day I would report them to the better business bureau and to the state attorneys general. Thanks for giving me your name so I can be accurate when I report you. Do not call me again. Then I hung up.

This # calls me every single day, multiple times. I've picked up a few times to tell them to take me off of their list, but then they hang up on me. I don't know what to do, they are seriously getting on my last nerve. I have no idea who they are or how to get them to stop calling me. Once I even called them back, but this didn't clear up the mystery...I'm still just as clueless to their identity as I was the first time I received the call. Kind of glad to know I'm not the only one with this perpetual caller..

Ha. First they called from "Unknown Name" then from "Not Provided" like I wouldn't know the difference or even answer. Losers.

This number calls me everyday asking for someone who doesn't live here, and every day I tell them they have the wrong number and to never call again, but low and behold the next day at the same time they call looking for the same person.

They've been calling here 3 times a day for many days and never leaving messages. I called the number back and a recording identified them as HSBC and that they may have called about a credit card offer. I waited to speak to a representative who identified themselves as "Credit Services." I refused to give my name when asked but identified the number I wanted removed from their call list. They apologized and but me on hold and spoke to someone identified as a supervisor. I told them I wanted my number removed and if I received any phone calls after the next 48 hours I would be contacting both my state attorney general's office and the state they are incorporated as well. They apologized and said the calling would stop within 48 hours. Judging from the accents of both people I spoke to I believe this is a call center in India or Pakistan. I'll know if they've actually removed my number in 48 hours.

I've been phone spammed by these guys too. I called them and asked to have my number removed(over 3 weeks ago, now the calls have gotten worse. Used to only get three calls a day now it's 6-7 times a day and night. The latest they've called was 7PM.

This number calls several times a week, never leaving a message. I am glad I found this website, its nice (unfortunately) to know I am not alone and it happens to countless others. Of course IT SHOULDN'T. There ought to be a way to make them stop!

Called asking for my wife by her madien name then hung up on me if you call teh number back you can reach someone to talk to...sound like call center wasnt in the U.S.A

I just called the number back and spoke with a Phellore . she is suppose to be a supervisor. She said it would take 48 hours to have my name removed. I told her to take it off NOW. this is ridiculous! How can they get away with this.

This number has called several times a day for weeks now. My daughter has answered a few time, but they wont leave a call back number or a name. They call at all hours. This is really harrassment!

This phone call was a lady wanting to tell me about something General Motors was going to do for me. When I pressed her for where she was calling from, she told me it was the Philippines.

These people call EVERYday. They call all hours of the day. If I have 6 missed calls, 5 are from them no doubt. I'm on the do not call list too. Glad to see it helps! grrr....

Its funny how moronic some of you are trying to call HSBC and hanging up on them as if they even cared. or as even the telemarketers care. They are used to that and just thing "oh, another pathetic moron trying to be funny" They just hang up and move on. They care about their sales, not about whatever you can say or do to them.

And if you call HSBC you'll get in touch with an HSBC office in the US. But the nummber that calls you is the code for an automatic dialer that connects you to the call centers in other places. Basically you CAN'T call the people calling you. You'll just have to deal with it, im sorry.

Oh and by federal law they can call as many times as they want until they speak with someone five times. And between 9 am and 9 pm. Besides, for gods sake, are you people 80 years old that you go to sleep at 7.30 or 8 pm? That's even sad.

Just politely ask to be put on de do not call list, or talk with them. Period. If you pick up and no one answers, wait, say hello, and their sistem will link you to the next available telemarketer. And presto!

They called 17 times in two weeks, never leaving a message. I picked up the phone five times trying to speak to them, but they always hung up on me until today. A woman told me her name was 'Amy Ducker' and she was calling from HSBC Bank to offer me a credit card. She asked for me under my married name, which is very strange because I never use this name. She referred me back to the same number 8884661258 for customer service. She told me they would remove my number and add me to their do not call list. I hope that happens.

They have been calling me almost every day since August 22nd. I just moved and got a new phone number which is unlisted, and signed up for the do not call list. I have told them at least 3 times to stop calling. I called them on the 4th and told them to take my number off their list, and they told me "We are calling you to try to get you or someone in your household to sign up for a credit card." I told them I am not interested. They stopped calling until the 13th and now they are calling again 3 times a day. They even called me today, SATURDAY at 11:15 AM when I was trying to sleep!

It must be some sort of religious practice to call my number at least 3 to 4 times a week.

They called me, the phone rang and rang until they hung up then called back immediately. This happened 3 times so I answered and asked for me. They pronounced my name wrong so I said, "May I tell him whos calling?" She said, "Ok thanks!" and hung up. I called them back and got the next operator. I said, "Is this HSBC?" He said, "yes, we are...." "Ok thanks!" and I hung up.

This is a So Called Credit Card offer from HSBC \ Orchard Bank. The Called is based in India, and is reading from a Script. I asked from my details to be removed from their contact list and they informed me this is NOT possible as I am a "HSBC Valued Member" (So remove my name from your call list)

Why answer the calls ? We have a weapon. Its called caller ID. Turn down the phone. Only answer #'s you know. After awhile they will give up.

Someone on here suggested to ad yourself to the no call list...well if you do read this statement carefully: Once you have registered, your phone number registration will be effective for 5 years. It will be illegal for MOST telemarketers to call you, and you will be able to file a complaint if a telemarketer does call you. The website donotcall.gov provides information about filing a complaint.

MOST telemarketers, it doesn't save you from ALL telemarketers. What is the point? ERRRRRRRR My phone only rings with people I know now it rings with two lame 800 telemarketing numbers.

This number started calling me two days ago. It calls a couple times a day. Today it wouldn't connect me to someone. I called it back, it states on the recording there hours of operation and days. Funny how Saturday no one is in but the automated system still calls you. It disconnected me after it stated the hours. We have used HSBC before for a loan and this is the first time they started to bug us with a credit card offer.

I'm just another person on the list. Who ever assigns 888 numbers knows who this is and allows it. It seems to me there are enough complaints to seek action against the 888 people who assigned this number and allow the committed offense to continue.

it was an autodialer but I waited anyway. The rep came on asking for me by name, I gave a noncommital response in my "senile old man" voice. She went on with a rapid fire pitch for a "preapproved" credit card, at the end of which I simply asked "who'r ye callin' fer agin?" Then she started getting abusive: "You stated that you were Mr...." "Nooo, no Mister.... here." One very pissed off telemarketer then fired off some letters and numbers for her supervisor's benefit and angrily hung up.

Next time they call and you want to answer, pick it up and have a little fun with them, try to sell them something they don't need. At least try to have a little fun with them rather than get aggrivated.

If you answer your phone and there is silence, it does'nt meal they are hanging up. It's because they dial five or six numbers all at once, and when one caller answers, it cancels out the other calls, so there is silence. If you answer and don't get a response in two seconds, hang up.

When I called, I got HSBC Bank and my call was answered by a middle eastern man who offered me or a member of my household a credit card. I said no and he said thank you for calling and hung up. I called back and spoke to a female who recorded my number, verifed it and said I woudl be taken off the list~! We shall see!

When I called they said they were also HSBC..Someone in a Middle Eastern Accent asked me if I or someone in my household was interested in a credit card, I said NO and he said thank you and have a nice day.

Asking for a manager didn't work for me when I tried it, a lady with a thick accent rudly told me "No you may not." and accused me of commiting fraud because I wasn't who she was calling. Then she rudly hung up on me. Called me back a day later and I asked politly to be removed from their call list. they still call almost daily so when I see the number on the CID I either push the end button hanging up on them without answering them or, if I have had a bad/stressful day and they call I answer and just start rambling off expletives and screaming at the person i'm mad at (managment, polititions, the clown who cut me off in traffic) It's very cathardic and relieving and by the time they hang up I feel alot better.

I called this number back and it is for HSBC Bank. The opening message says that they may have called you because of one of their many credit card offers. Then when you stay on the line it connects you to a real person... So when I got connected to this real person I hung up on them like they do to me...

Call the number back, wait for a rep, approx. 2 minutes, and ask to be put on the blocked call list. They are very nice, but do try to put down the wrong number, so when they repeat your number make sure you listen carefully. I did it and it took 48 hours, then no calls back. Hope this helps!

So I asked if they were also bored and would like to talk for a while considering they called 15 times they must want to talk. They asked if I wanted a card, I said no and then he asked if I wanted to be taken off there call list. I told him yes and also asked if he still wanted to talk anymore, he said no and goodbuy and hung up. I guess I wasted there time!

They call by house 15-20 times per day. I finally got through to them. They are HSBC Bank in Salinas, CA. I registered a complaint with FCC. Suggest everybody else do the same

These people are with a collection company in some capacity, for they have left messages on my phone for someone that lives in my small community. They repeat the calls 3- 6 times a day and the calls are proceeded with an Oregan based phone number the calls in just before the call of just after the call everyday. Skip tracing and auto dialing circuits. It is harassment and "WE" paid the phone bill that allows them to call us. Phone company says call the police if they threaten you. Physical threats never come into play, however, emotional ones do and this can be exstremely disturbing to ones health.

the call I get is from some pre recorded women. Alot of times on the pre-recored call if you hit 3 on your phone it will take you off of there list. Well, when I hit 3, and I kid you not they had a pre- recored laugh. It was the lady, I hit it 3 times and her "heh heh heh" . Pretty creppy

Best thing to do--when you see that number come up on caller ID, answer this way: "Do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior?" They hang up faster than the time it took for the computer to dial you, and you get many fewer calls back.

The NON american woman wanted to talk to my husband and when i told her he wasn't home she hung up on me.

My boyfriend has had 38 calls from them this week... answered 5 of them and asked to be put on their do not call list. just to let everyone know i will not give my name but i do work for these people and i make alot of the calls that keep showing up on your caller id's.... if your looking for a way to get this calling stopped, ill tell you. if your lucky enough to get to talk to someone when you answere the phone then your best bet would be to calmly and politly ask to speak to a manager, and ask them to take your name off the calling list. the manager will do this every single time without fail. the regular telemarketers sometimes dont do this because their having a bad day or whatever but good luck and be nice...it'll get you farther

Pain in the butt, a waste of a call trying to get me to answer this one.

This is a legitimate business number - "Credit Services". They want your application for a new card. If you are comfortable, call them back and tell them to take you off their phone list. They are to do that by law. Keep track of your numbers if you caller id. Try not to just hang up on them. Get their information.

Just says TOLL FREE NUMBER on my caller ID

About Twice per month I start getting this number. So far they only can reach my message machine. It cannot be legit credit card offer. The legit ones move on, this sicko keeps up aggravation as per the comments on this site shows. Sicko must enjoy all this, we must find a way to get to them.
NOTE TO MATT: Does no good to tell that your listed in Do not call list. Also listing with FTC does nothing but make a statistic out of you only.
Calling your State Attorney office just makes your status known to them. No actions have taken place. Anybody got a better idea to stop this sicko.?

They just called with ID as GM Mastercard and asked for Elizabeth...this has happened twice. I got really angry and they said they would take my number off their list...we shall see.

12-13. Just the number appears on ID display. Twice-daily calls now. If you can be bothered, answer without saying anything and carry on with work/toe-nail clipping, etc - at least make them pay for the call.

They have been calling my mother ever since she got her new telephone number every night. Grrrrr

Jackasses...take power into your own hands...first file you # with the national do not call list which is free...second file a complaint with them and with your local attorney general's office which you can find out by calling your state gov.

Let's stick it to these people...

A quick plug for my VOIP phone system sunrocket.com. They have a 'blocking' feature that actually sends the call directly to voicemail w/o ringing your phone. This is one of the dozen or so numbers on my list.

This number has been calling 2 or 3 times every day and leaves no message when answering machine answers.

I'm so happy to hear that everyone else is feeling the same way. This number has been calling me daily for 3 months straight! They never leave messages - so I never answer the phone! So annoying!

Calls daily several times per day. I have found with other calls that just because no one answers it doesn't mean they aren't listening. After one most aggrivating call, which called 10 times on a sunday, I finally said "It is time to call the better business bureau and the state attorney general's office. That will put an end to this!" That number has not called back since. Give it try. It may work.

The people that called me weren't from HSBC, but from a different credit card company (Orchard Bank). I asked them to verify who they were (e.g. give me some specifics about my account), before I would give them any personal info. They couldn't verify anything. They tried to tell me it was for a limited time offer. I asked them to mail me the application to my home address (which they should have on file), but they couldn't do that, either.

It is another credit card offer and they call multiple times each day!

They call us all the time. I've asked them to put us on their 'do not call' list. They hung up on me.

It's HSBC. They called, and I felt like messing with them, so I pretended to talk like Borat. Probably just sounded like an American pretending to sound like Borat. Anyway, I called them back and the guy who answered said it was HSBC and that the call was about a credit card offer.

Called everyday, finally picked up today. Tried to verify credit card info from me, told him I would not give him that information asked his name - he hung up. NOT LEGIT BUSINESS...SCAM...DO NOT TALK TO!!!!!! REPORT!!!!!!

Same here, they call us daily, but nobody is there when the phone is answered. Most annoying, I wish someone could do something.

Calls daily and won't leave a message or return calls. When asked if they are a telemarketer, the lady got overly upset. Advised that our # is a cell phone # on the do not call registry.

See my previous note under WD comments. Today is 10-03=06. They have called daily M-F never missing a day. Leaves no message as I have a call screen tied to computer. They won't even give courtesy to say "please call us back".

When you ask them to take you off their calling list they try to read you something. I just hung up on her.

If this is from RBS card services,they were informed Friday 9-22-06 to remove all names in ref to me. The person said O.K. but at the time, I doubted he moved a muscle to cancel it.

I called it and it is a credit card services company,I could not get thru to a human to tell them to stop bothering me.

This # calls my house every day!
