How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Said they were some employment agency - I gave no infor. They said that they would phone back tomorrow.
It's not Verizon.
first off the ppl complaining on here are those same assholes that we deal with every day in the public... when they call they are trying to inform u of your contract comming up for renewal. The company calling you is hired by a larger company that is hired by verizon to do these rewnals. Its a convenience for you so if u dont want to do it talk to the rep say no thank u im satisfied and then u will stop getting calls. Of course there is sometimes human errors and u might get a call back but just tell them and u will be fine but its most definitely not a scam!
i worked for this company, they are 100% legitimate. Verizon wireless has 55 million customers. they contract out their renewals to various firms to handle for them. Do the math please guys... 55 million customers.. the reps take NO credit card info NO personal information it is all just VERIFIED. if you dont like the convenience of renewing from the comfort of your home, get into your car, haul down to the local verizon store and do it for yourself. People act like the company is extracting dna for goodness sakes!!! Its a wireless contract renewal on an EXISTING account... lighten up!!!!!!
I received a call from this number today and called Verizon to see if it was actually a valid call. The customer service rep told me it was a number from Verison's marketing dept., so I wouldn't worry about it.
Called three times in the past two days, but I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.
got many calls from this number, and haven't answered any. googled it for giggles, wound up here.. looks like its wise to simply continue to ignore. if they won't remove you from the call list when asked. being called by a machine is actually illegal, but who wants to actually put the effort to persue such a matter... i wonder how many people they scam who didn't google, or research..
Called twice without leaving a message. Somebody important needs to look into this!
Id says [No Name], missed the call. Anyone with an important message will leave a voicemail or will otherwise call back. I hope it's the MegaMillions commission letting me know my check is in the mail.
ive been getting these calls from 8883660899 for two days now and finally i picked up and there was no one there that is when i searched the number and got sent here!?
if anybody has info please share if they are scamming don't pick up the phone.
Answered but there's no one there...happened twice this week.
All my id caller says is
Unavailable 888-366-0899. I see that they called two other times today. When I answered, they didn't say anything so I hung up.
This number is not a verizon number, it is a scam. They kept calling me and not speaking then finally they spoke and I told them I was turning off the phone and they said they will not call anymore. I called Verizon and gave them the phone number and they said it isn't a verizons number. I put a security block on my cell number so they can't access my account even though I didn't give them any info. they may be trying to get personal info. for ident. theft so be aware.
funny that it would be coming from Verizon to my cell when Verizon is not my provider.
F Verizon. They are now calling me 3 times a day from this number. I answer and noone talks. I refuse to call the number back. I have switched to cingular and brought my number with me. Verizon is not happy about that and that in turn makes me VERY HAPPY :)... Down With Verizon
They called my Verizon cell phone at 8:44pm. No VM. Obviously a false caller ID tag because there are no outgoing calls on toll-free lines. If this is Verizon customer service with a legitimate call, why don't they (a) leave vm, and/or (b) identify themselves on the caller ID ("Verizon" instead of number they're not really calling from). RB - bummer you were so dehumanized there that you think refusing to be treated like a machine is the definition of an asshole.
They did'nt leave a VM called my home number
After days of getting calls from this number and no voice mails, I answered this afternoon. The caller identified herself as "Teresa from Verizon Wireless." She said she was calling about my account, and when I asked her what specific matter she was calling about, she told me I sounded like I was in a bad mood, then added that she would *not* tell me the reason for her call. Then she promptly hung up. If this is customer service...
Missed the call on a Sunday- no voice message. Called again a Tuesday, I answered, no-one there.
Guys, this is a Verizon Wireless promotions phone number. Call verizon wireless and tell them to remove you from solicitations/promotions list.
I have received several calls from this #, no VM ever left. Finally I answered and women said she was w/ Customer Service. Wanted to send me a free bluetooth and seemed stunned when I advised her I had one. Then she wanted to renew my contract which didn't need renewing. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE
This numbers called me twice a day for the past two weeks...i dont recodnize the area code so I dont answere.
Funny that RB should be so adamant that his call from this number is legitimate -- We've been getting twice daily calls from this bunch since a year BEFORE my wife got her cell phone. Even worse, they continue calling twoce daily even after she renewed her contract. And they CONTINUE to call even after I answered, got a human being, and told them that she had renewed her contract.
This is the first time I've received a call from this number, but my Verizon contract is probably up for renewal. I would definitely renew it, but I don't answer calls with Unknown Name. If it said Verizon, or if they left a voice mail message, I would gladly deal with them. I agree, this is no way to do business with current customers.
They call 3 to 4 times a day, including weekends. I won't answer it. Today, they called my cell. I don't know if they're legit or not, but if they are, harassment is not a good way to make a customer cooperative.
five calls from this number today ... FIVE (didn't answer any of them)
They called twice today and did not leave a message either time.
I got this call on my Verizon cell phone. I would think that if it is legitimately Verizon Wireless or any other reputable company that they would not automatically recall if I hang up as the person above me says. If I don't want to talk that is my prerogative, and it sure as hell doesn't make me an asshole, rather it makes you one.
I worked at this office in tampa for about 6 months... and i quit because of ass holes like you guys. All they want to do is let you know your contract is up for renewal and let you know you are eligable for a new phone. If you say, "I want to look at the phones in the store" or "thanks but i want to go month to month" they mark it down not to call back and thats that. As far as the hanging up, there are occasions when the dialer messes up and drops calls but it isnt very often. If you hang up on them as soon as you pick up the phone, you are marked as a recall automatically and if you scream at the person for calling you and dont give them a chance to explain whats going on then you are also automatically recalled. 19 times out of 20 people are happy with the call when they listen to the representative because it is informative and helpful. Lighten up and if you get disconnected just call them back on this number.
Same here- several times a month - don't answer - they leave no message - requested a block on this number - obviously this didn't work.
They have called me several times and never left a message. When I called the number back they claim to be Verizon wireless, so I just hung up. When I called the real Verizon wireless, they said that they don't know anything about this number and that no one from Verizon wireless has tried to call me. I guess this is a scam.
A few times a month, these calls come in. It's most likely Verizon Wireless; I haven't had a contract renewal with them in 2 years. I never answer because all of the stuff I have read about this number already online.
This number has phoned me several times over the last few weeks, I have yet to answer the call and no voicemail is left, however I googled the number and here is some additional information on it .. wifi-forum.com
I just called verizon customer service and they dont recognize this phone number as their own.
got a call supposedly from verizon wireless. they wanted to speak with "patrick" I told them since they were vzw they should already know who they were talking to since my cell service was with them and themn I just hung up. When I called verizon they had no record of anyone calling, duh!
Call was from Verizon Wireless, asking me to renew my cellular contract with them. The call seemed legitimate.
Didn't leave a VM. Called twice today.
Didn't answer
They didn't leave a VM
I was told there was a problem with my account and to provide them with my account number for assistant. I told them I did not feel comfortable and hung up. I called Verizon Wireless by getting the phone number from their site and they said there was nothing wrong with my account. The call made to me was scam to give them personal information.
this number is Verizon Wireless customer service.
I didn't answer it
