They call constantly and I am sick and can't rest because they call me all day long!

It was barely 9:00 A. M. when they called. Caller ID said Toll Free Call, no message. If this is AT&T why don't they identify themselves?

ATT wants participation in a survey on recent transaction.
They do not clarify which transaction. I had two recently. One good, one bad. So I hung up.
They should not be pestering customers to begin with.
I think that ATT is retarded. Specifically, the executives at ATT. They have not mastered basic social skills. I will train them and throw in toilet-training as well for $100/hr.

January 31st, 2014 Clarity MO

Here's my thought as to why 888-211-7690 ATT survey doesn't show ATT on caller ID...as with so many companies, large and small, they contracted a company to this for them. Hence the generic "toll free caller" name instead of ATT since I would guess they represent various companies. Pretty common these days but nontheless annoying to have to figure out who might be calling. Thank goodness for the internet so we're able to discern who really is on the line.

Ages ago when I was making a lot of $$$ I donated to a lot of causes and charities who continue to hound me to death to this day and long after my situation changed. Point is I will never pick up an unfamiliar number and keep a functional blocker/screener on my phone.

That being said, this number did seem vaguely familiar and since I did cancel all my ATT Uverse services yesterday, it seems very likely this was indeed ATT.

RE: Thx: When you sign up with ATT you agree to accept their privacy policy which allows them to do what you describe. They periodically update with a new policy in a white pamphlet with about 8 pages of fine print almost everybody throws away. If there's a way to opt out, it's in there. Almost every time I hear a person complain about a similar thing, especially with Facebook stuff, is surprised to learn they somehow had agreed to whatever it is they're not happy with! Almost nobody reads End User License Agreements (EULA) or Privacy Statements.

I will say having just come off almost a year of Uverse they never bothered me except after installation and after any customer service interaction. I switched away from their cell service too and they never bugged me there either, during or after. I didn't like either service so don't mistake what I say as sticking up for them.

October 2nd, 2013 Thx CA

To subscribe to AT&T should NOT have to mean constant calls from AT&T to increase their revenue by soliciting more AT&T products! Really, have some respect for the consumers privacy.

These people are pissing me off! They have called twice today. I tried to add them to my call block list and for some reason I keep getting "this is an invalid number."

I don't have AT&T. I've never had AT&T, but I've gotten six calls from this number today. I finally answered and they hung up...

April 23rd, 2013 Anti-Fed

AT&T is above the federal government because of white envelope also known as kickbacks to the Feds in taxes they collect from anyone that uses their lines and/or equipment.

March 28th, 2013 PJT IL

I called this number back and it is an AT&T survey and sales line. They call a lot if you don't answer. The only reason I received this call was because I called them with a problem 2 days before.

March 19th, 2013 Mike MO

I called it back, it is an automated survey from AT&T

Identify who is calling or you get the silent treatment.

This is AT&T (cable or phone services) automated call from AT&T's "FEEDBACK SYSTEM" after you called AT&T first, (as a followup) to rate the quality of customer service you received when you contacted AT&T.

November 13th, 2012 NN CA

I called AT&T regarding a billing error yesterday. I am guessing this was their automated system to ask for my feedback. I wish they would identify themselves on the Caller ID.

September 28th, 2012 JCF TX

Did not answer and there was no message. I understand from others that this call was from AT&T customer satisfaction survey for recent service rendered.

April 17th, 2012 CLEOH OH

Signed up last night with AT&T U-Verse. The salesperson did say something about completeing a survey when AT&T calls the next day. Since this call was identified as Toll Free on our Caller ID, we did not answer. Now that I've checked on this site and see that it is AT&T, I will answer the next call. They really should identify themselves if they expect people to pickup on their calls.

March 28th, 2012 Tom MO

A callback to the number on the cell phone said it was AT&T automated survey. Why do calls from AT&T not show up as such on the caller ID? They hang up when the answering machine picks up the call which makes you think there is a live person on the other end. Why can't the phone company provide their own proper caller ID?

March 1st, 2012 Artie TX

I do not answer toll free numbers so, I want them to stop calling me. My phone ringing when I know I'm not going to answer it is very annoying. Stop calling me NOW!!!!!!

February 24th, 2012 Ken CA

They called 3 times, Twice the answering machine answered and they left no message. The third time they called I answered and it was a short survey from AT&T about the service I received when calling customer service the prior day.

November 18th, 2011 USNSPARKS TN

As some have said you do NOT need to call them and take their survey to stop them from bothering you.

I just added this # to my PhoneTray Free ZAP list.

Zap ANY annoying calls for free! Stop paying the telephone company thieves to do what this does for FREE. Anonymous Call Rejection doesn't block
all the modified CID calls. PhoneTray Free will!

www.phonetray.com

Your phone won't even ring and they will be hung up on after your message if you want to leave one. Been using this program for months and LOVE it!

They are working on a Pro version that will act like a full fledged answering machine. Calls you want can still leave a message on your answering

machine. You can manually enter the bogus Unknown Name Unknown Number, ---------- and others that these bums use to circumvent the caller ID system.
It will block them also. If you can type it in the box it will ZAP it! Or you can add incoming #s to your zap list with a few clicks. Is a FABULOUS

little program! It even works with older computers that don't have a 'voice modem'. The only call screen program I've seen that does. It also has an

online look up that queries WhoCalled.US. How neat is that? They actually answer your EMails if you have ANY questions. If you want to use the

upcoming Pro
version you will need to buy an inexpensive external 'voice modem'. Newer computers come with voice modems. I have NO connection with the company

other than I am extremely happy with their PhoneTray Free 1.37. Try this out, you will thank me!

I wish I could say this will stop them from calling again since few of them listen to the message you send them. BUT you won't have the phone ringing

again with them and anyone else you zap. They will eventually quit but the great thing is you won't be bothered by them again.

Don't forget to report these bums to the FTC. Use the online form at complaints.donotcall.gov
Being part of the federal government bureaucracy I can't say if they actually take any action but I feel it can't hurt.

November 2nd, 2011 Margaret N TX

Don't really care who they are or who they claim to represent. If they cannot identify who they represent or leave a message, PLEASE DO NOT WASTE MY TIME OR YOURS. Very unprofessional & NOT TO MENTION ANNOYING/HARASSMENT.
AT&T SHOULD PROVIDE BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS TO THEIR EMPLOYEES. IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO IDENTIFY YOURSELF/COMPANY YOU REPRESENT/ MORE THAN LIKELY YOU NEED TO FIND A DIFFERENT LINE OF WORK OR GO BACK TO SCHOOL!

October 3rd, 2011 Displeased NM

Don't really care who they are or who they claim to be or claim to represent. If they can not be professional enough to use an identified phone number and leave a proper message they should not be calling anyone for any reason. It is both unprofessional and disrespectful for someone to call and hide their identity and to hang up on the answering machine or voicemail when the person they called went to the effort to provide a method for callers to reach them when they are not home to receive the call. If this is someone from or representing AT&T I will be calling AT&T to express my displeasure with their disrespect and unprofessional actions.

September 27th, 2011 Danny O TX

Received a call, did not answer, never the less, no message left. Weird

September 9th, 2011 Trisha

If this is really AT&T, then for the love of god why don't they identify themselves? Don't they own the phone company? Can't they create a caller ID? So stupid!

September 8th, 2011 RB

They called the house the other day and I did not bother to answer. If it is AT&T they should say so on the Caller ID. I do not answer toll free calls.

July 29th, 2011 PrincetonBrat TX

If this is a follow-up survey (I DID have some repair work done, took 3 business days to get my live back!), what's the SECRET about who is calling??? What's with "TOLL FREE CALL"? Why not "ATT CUST SERV" or "ATT REPAIRS", or something that identifies the caller? Caller ID is just that, and I won't answer calls with caller ID that I don't recognize. Period.

June 30th, 2011 Joy Burrus OK

Dialed back and it was a survey from AT&T for a U-verse service call yesterday. I don't have a problem with them calling me for a survey, but at least identify on caller id

March 2nd, 2011 Mr. P GA

Canceled my long distance service on 3-1-11. Received call on 3-2-11 @ 9am no message. After reading comments here I'm sure it's connected to AT&T. No problem, no caller ID and no message = no answer.

January 19th, 2011 annoyed CA

I got this call twice this evening. Didn't answer. I noticed that some people in the comments mentioned U-Verse. I don't have that so my call couldn't have been about that. The only thing was a call I made two days ago to At&t with a question. The person was very helpful. Any time I deal with any other company, they just send an email with a survey which I can or can not take. It's up to me. They don't bug me. Now I'm wondering if I have to turn my phone off in the late evening so they don't try to call in the wee our of the morning. I did try a trick I learned. When I got the second call, I answered and immediately hit the pund sign several times in rapid succession. This is supposed to confuse the computer at the ohter end and kick your number out. It has worked on a cuople numbers for me in the past.

January 13th, 2011 go away NY

It must be punishment! Filed complaint against AT&T, now getting these no-message calls 3x a day. When I get a new computer, they are going for a hike.

January 6th, 2011 CONSUMER TX

Been receving calls from this number

December 27th, 2010 CC

I have been ignoring calls from this number, but when I looked it up here and found out it was AT&T, I called them back and participated in the computerized survey regarding the representative who handled a billing dispute (I have had fraudulent 3rd party charges (E-SafeID) tacked onto my October and December bills). The rep did great, and removed the charges.

However, AT&T cannot block these charges, as the rep in October told me. I must call both HBS Billing and AT&T every time they appear. HBS Billing was not as hard to deal with this time as the first time, but it is painfully irritating and time-consuming. It sickens me that our government can intrude into every facet of our personal lives, but they won't protect us (consumers) from this type of fraud! If I wish to block ALL third party billing from my telephone account, I should be able to! AT&T, and other phone companies, should not be complicit in the perpetration of third party billing fraud!

If it happens again, I'm just going to ditch my land line.

NW, you speak of the loophole of a contracted company calling you so you cannot ask to be on that companies do not call list. The legal fact is that is a loophole for you to file a complaint. The contracted company has to honor your request to be put on their do not call list. Thus anyone who contracts with them later to call you is out of luck. You are dealing with a surveyor legally, not a company that hires them. Make your request to the survey company.

November 12th, 2010 NW CA

Huh, now I know who called but I still don't plan on doing the survey. I actually just cancelled my Uverse. I did a little research on the FTC website and it appears that surveys are not covered by the Do Not Call list. Meaning that they can legitimately call you for a survey even if you are on the list. Here's the info I found from www.ftc.gov:

"If I register my number on the National Do Not Call Registry, will it stop all telemarketing calls?

No. Placing your number on the National Do Not Call Registry will stop most telemarketing calls, but not all. Because of limitations in the jurisdiction of the FTC and FCC, calls from or on behalf of political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors would still be permitted, as would calls from companies with which you have an existing business relationship, or those to whom you’ve provided express agreement in writing to receive their calls. However, if you ask a company with which you have an existing business relationship to place your number on its own do-not-call list, it must honor your request. You should keep a record of the date you make the request."

"What about telephone surveys?

If the call is really for the sole purpose of conducting a survey, it is not covered. Only telemarketing calls are covered — that is, calls that solicit sales of goods or services. Callers purporting to take a survey, but also offering to sell goods or services, must comply with the National Do Not Call Registry."

"My number is on the National Do Not Call Registry. After I bought something from a company, a telemarketer representing that organization called me. Is this a violation?

No. By purchasing something from the company, you established a business relationship with the company. As a result, even if you put your number on the National Do Not Call Registry, that company may call you for up to 18 months after your last purchase or delivery from it, or your last payment to it, unless you ask the company not to call again. In that case, the company must honor your request not to call. If they subsequently call you again, they may be subject to a fine of up to $16,000 .

An established business relationship with a company also will be created if you make an inquiry to the company, or submit an application to it. This kind of established business relationship exists for three months after the inquiry or application. During this time, the company can call you.

If you make a specific request to that company not to call you, however, then the company may not call you, even if you have an established business relationship with that company. You should keep a record of the date you make the request."

ATT probably outsources these surveys to an outside company whose sole purpose is to contact you for the survey, thus legally calling you. So while you are doing business directly with ATT, you are not doing business with the survey company and cannot ask them to put you on that company's Do Not Call list. There are loopholes...

They called twice while I was out, but after looking here I saw it was AT&T and a technician was out 2 days ago. The other reports are correct that it takes a minute, if even that, to stop them from calling again. I called the number back, it was an automated survey that asked a few generic questions. I'm opted out of sales and solicitations and am also on the DNC Registry, but I'm fairly certain they mentioned a survey when the appointment was scheduled. No big deal, really. It would be really nice if they would show AT&T Survey on the caller ID though, just as someone else mentioned.

Called the house but did not leave voice mail.

October 20th, 2010 Leon NM

OH! And that also means that even if I/we HAD called them. They still DO NOT have the right to call us with a survey or to share our contact information with ANY third party for any purpose because we ARE OPTED OUT!

October 20th, 2010 Leon NM

IN response to the Re Leon message post dated 2010-09-03 06:03:34 UTC: In case you did not know it you can "Fail" someone for their actions or failure to perform at anytime without filling out a survey. More times than not surveys are used to find future customers for future products. As for costing innocent people money by not answering a survey that is some imagination you have. When a company does something wrong you complain to them about it. If they do not make changes to correct the issue you take your business elsewhere. That is how you cost someone money. Now.. Just who did you cost money when you do this? The service company who failed to provide services as promised. No innocent person lost any money. There is also the matter of OPTING OUT of such activities. Even when you have service with a company that uses surveys you have the right to Opt-Out of such surveys. As it happens we have AT&T cell phone service BUT! our account has been OPTED OUT from ALL surveys and any third party offers since DAY ONE. This would mean that the company, in this case AT&T, has not only violated the laws about respecting Opt-Out preferances they have violated the rights of those who have chosen to Opt-Out, in this case. US. And Believe you me.... They have heard about it! And they will not be sharing our contact information with any third party again without our express permission. And THAT protects US from loosing any money to an unauthorized solicitor who has contracted with a service provider to gain access to their clientel.

This call came in about 10:20am and the caller did not leave a message on my answering machine. This would confirm that it was an unsolicited/unwanted tellemarketing call since you would think that a legitimate caller would have left a proper message for the person they are trying to reach. This was the first call from this caller and hopefully the last call. Whoever the caller is. Survey or not. If you have OPTed OUT of doing surveys, which we have!, they should not be calling with surveys.

September 25th, 2010 jhbvta24

Three calls so far this morning after I scheduled disconnection for my service. Why wouldn't AT&T identify themselves on Caller ID?

September 19th, 2010 klm KS

Multiple calls on a Sat without leaving a message

September 11th, 2010 Mark OK

This stupid ass system called me FIVE FREAKIN TIMES and nobody ever said a word. I finally called back and found that it is a survey to see how the technician did when he hooked up my U-Verse service.

September 10th, 2010 MUM FL

I received this call again for the 2nd time today 9-10-10 at 3:48PM from TOLL FREE CALL.
It was AT&T U-verse, doing a survey for their customer service rep. from yesterday, as I called in with a complaint. Didn't speak to a HUMAN!! It was a stupid COMPUTER CALLING!!! I would rather speak to a human than a computer telling me to press this number and that number!!

GIVE THE JOBS BACK TO THE HUMANS AND FIRE THE COMPUTERS!!!!!!!!!

September 10th, 2010 MUM FL

I received this call today 9-10-10 at 10:49AM from TOLL FREE CALL.
I don't know who it was as I didn't give them a chance to speak! All I said was, You have reached an UNLISTED PHONE NUMBER, THAT IS ALSO ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST! They hung up!! My phone number is UNLISTED and is on the DO NOT CALL LIST!
As I have read the other comments on this TOLL FREE NUMBER, I have OPT OUT on all phone calls like this!

September 3rd, 2010 Re Leon

Leon you do not understand that you DID call them and they are not invading your rights, you are aware of the opt out policy and by failing the survey you are taking away innocent peoples money, and wasting your own time. but of course if the person did fail then you should give the appropriate score. failing someone that tried or did fix the problem is not a way to get back at the company it is a way to be childish

September 3rd, 2010 ATT Surveys

This is an ATT survey phone number, you can call it back at a later time and it asks you if you are calling from that line (no need to input your info). i had a bad experience with two non english speaking agents and had a good experience with the 30 second voice message part at the end. remember speak clearly, the surveys are also outsourced...

August 31st, 2010 Leon NM

Another sign of big business not giving a damn about the rights of their customers to OPT OUT of such calls.
What you really need to do is FAIL them on the survey EVERY TIME they call you about answering one. You can
also send them a letter telling them that you wish to OPT OUT of ALL surveys and solicitations by phone or
mail and they have to opt you out under federal law. They are required anually to send out OPT OUT update
letters to give you the opportunity to tell them NOT to share your information with any subsiduary as well
as in house services. Just tell them. If I want to express my feelings about your services I will tell you.
In the mean time DO NOT BOTHER ME! They have to comply or they violate their Customer Satisfaction Policies!

Another FREE call blocker is Phonetray Dialup. It is a program you put on your computer. You have to hook your computer up to the phone line and it has to be on all the time to answer the calls, but it is amazing what it can do. Block UNLIMITED calls. You can make it play the "this number has been disconnected" message. You can create your own rules of what to block and you can even set it up to announce who is calling you through your computer's speakers. No more having to get up and look at the caller id. It maintains an unending call log too of everyone that has called you. Mine goes back over 7 years!!! There is a pay version too which I finally broke down and bought after using the free version for 5 years! The free version is an older version but it works fine. The pay version is the newest version and you get upgrades for life.

I, too, phoned AT&T yesterday, and today I've received one call so far. Now that I know who's calling, I WILL answer their next call so that I can give the rep who helped me a very POSITIVE report.

July 29th, 2010 anonymouse

I phoned AT&T yesterday about a billing issue, and today I've already received 2 phone calls from 888-211-7690 within a period of 3 hours...this number belongs to AT&T. I am so sick and tired that every time I need to phone AT&T about something, I then receive calls from them to do an automated survey. I've requested that AT&T stop phoning me, and they said they would stop, but obviously my request is being ignored. I don't feel like answering their surveys.

No msg.

May 13th, 2010 Matthew FL

It's an automated customer satisfaction survey from AT&T regarding network technician service/professionalism. Lines that recently required installation or service automatically receive this call after an AT&T network technician visits your location. If one chooses, you can all back to complete the survey. The calls will stop. It takes about 3 minutes.

May 9th, 2010 Mychailo CA

Call the number back and complete the stupid survey and the calls will stop... I know it's a pain but that's all you have to do. They called me 3 times with no answer when I picked up or let answering machine handle it, so I called it back and completed the survey...BINGO...no more calls from them at AT&T.

April 30th, 2010 ATTcustomer IN

We called AT&T customer service yesterday, and they were very helpful. Today this weird call came in, so we let it go to voice mail. Their stupid automated system didn't realize it was talking to voice mail, so it kept prompting, "If you are the person who spoke with the AT&T representative yesterday and wish to participate, press 1..." It did this several times before giving up. If they had just allowed it to show AT&T on the caller ID instead of looking like a telemarketer, we would have answered it.

April 26th, 2010 trish

I called repair (611) yesterday to report crosstalk on my landline. Today this number called and left no message.

April 15th, 2010 CLE OH OH

Received 2 calls this a.m. with hangups on answering machine. After seeing on this site that it is AT&T, I answered the third call since I had a repair done yesterday. It's an automated feedback survey regarding the repair technician. Took only about a minute to complete.

April 14th, 2010 mumbles

It's AT&T calling to see if I was satisfied with the service I got when I called yesterday. The trouble is, they called at least 6 times before there was actually anything on the other end of the phone. Then it was a voice prompted survey. Very annoying.

April 10th, 2010 Bonne CA

Received a call twice within two hours on the same day, but they do not leave a message nor do they identify themselves. If this is AT&T, then they should identify themselves, unless of course, they are just making calls to make them, but not really wanting a response, therefore they can say that, "Yes, we made that call." It seems that they really don't want to deal with a customer, just say that they, "Did their job by calling." It is annoying when they do not identify themselves and irritating when they continue to call and expect us to answer when we pay extra for caller i.d. and unlisted number, because we don't want unidentified solicitation calls!

April 7th, 2010 Jim FL

This is a call from AT&T to verify that your telephone repair has been completed successfully. They also ask if the repairman did his work in a professional manner.

April 3rd, 2010 jj MI

It might be AT&T but this would be the second time they have called today. Annoying.

March 25th, 2010 Joey

don't know but they call all the time. Who is it? I don't want to answer with out a ID.
