- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Fine, Ms. Shields, I will leave messages .... if I ever get your phone number and I have a reason to call. You've evidently ignored my comment right behind yours. Like Slater, you've also stupidly assumed that your caller is going to dutifully study random forum complaints and can magically determine which numbers should not be called based on forum comments.
Please leave messages.
Ms. Slater, now that you've practiced your no-call request here, deliver it to the actual caller, which does not maintain this site or this web page. How you handle this depends on the type of caller and what's been said, which for the readers would have been very useful information to share. That is the function of a mystery caller site. It may do you some good to slow down and review past comments to help you decide your next steps.
Stop calling me i do not have an account with you nor do i want one i do not like us bank!
These bastards call me 5 times daily and its getting really old. I am not a US Bank customer and don't owe anybody anything. How do u get them to stop calling, they never leave a message and I'm getting sick of them calling.
This was a legitimate call - they'd not received a payment through some glitch in the wonderful world of online banking. The rep didn't ask for any personal info, just asked for me by name, then let me know that my payment was late. I told him I'd sent it but would check into it. He was very polite, and that was that. As always, if in doubt, call the number on the back of your card or on your statement and, of course, never give your personal info to anyone who calls you!
Displays Credit Card Services - Scam - they ask for your credit card number rather telling you what it is-
Thought this was spam, and ignored repeated calls -- especially since the caller(s) never left a message, and since I am constantly getting spam phone calls from toll-free numbers. However, I happened to check my USBank account, and saw that my credit card payment from last month (which I KNOW I paid online, as I do every month) didn't get processed due to some technical difficulty. I am glad I checked, because USBank was willing to delete the late fee and accept my payment with no impact on my credit score because I am a customer with a history of on-time payments. I wish callers from this number would leave a message, but they don't -- so, it can't hurt to check your account, just in case, because if you let these things go for more than a month they can negatively impact your credit score. I can't guarantee that every call from this number is authentic, but in my case, they were just attempting to determine the cause of my missed payment, and it turned out to be legitimate.
This was supposedly US Bank calling on my deceased grandmother's credit card account. Wonder how many death certificates they have to receive before they stop harrassing my mother.
This is a confirmed scam/phishing outfit trying to make people think there is a problem with their credit card. They've been calling 2 to 5 times a day for the past 2 weeks, often waking us up. It's definitely fake.
These people call 15 times a day even after explaining Colorado laws states they must stop if ordered to Cease and Desist. They deserve to burn in hell
When machine picks up , you hear them hang up. I haven't done business with US Bank. I figured it was a collection agency. I feel if it was important they would leave a message. When they don't leave a message, I feel it is a scam or collection agency.
Ms Everhart, see if your state laws have any useful coverage of original creditor debt collectors. You might have to search for the address yourself, which raises suspicion about the motives and identity of the callers. I disagree with Janet P's curt writeoff, particularly given how technically easily numbers and CID can be spoofed.
Per our caller id when we got home after a week/weekend get-a-way, we found an average of 5 calls a day from this number with no messages. When we googled the number we started getting a little worried with what we were finding as we aren't late on any payments. We called the Member Services number on the back of the credit card to see if they could shed any light. We talked to a Rebecca that was very nice. It seems that the place we were staying for our get-a-way was trying to run their charge thru (verifying it was good) and the bank was questioning / wanting to verify it. They don't leave any message on answering machines for privacy reasons as they are not sure if the answering machine belongs to whom they are trying to reach. They normally try for 15 days before they allow the charge to go on your card. If there is an issue when you get your billing, you then get to call them and dispute it. If you are getting calls like this call the number on your credit card for their member services. They can also put you on the no call for soliciting list.
This is US BANK Collections. If they are calling you from this number YOU, or whomever used the telephone number they are cfalling you on, OWE THEM MONEY. Period. End of story.
i guess it. this is nice digit.

I called number, identified as US Bank and asked for 16 digit credit card # ( VISA or MASTERCARD), pressed 0, got 2 number menu, pressed 2, got another request for 16 digit #, pressed 0 again, waited and finally got an "agent" of whom I requested placement of my number on the DO NOT CALL list. I also explained I did not have a US BANK CC. Courteous response; asked for my number and a moment later said my number was on their list. WE'll see!!!!
This number calls my work phone several times a day, including at night when I am not there. I do not answer when they call and they do not leave a message. I called back a couple weeks ago and they said they were "cardmember services" and wanted to know my credit card number. When I told them I was not going to give them that information, they asked for my social security number (which of course I did not give either). At that point, I asked them to take me off their call list, but I still receive several calls per day. I called again today to ask to be removed from their call list. We'll see if it works this time. I'm really tired of getting calls from them all the time.
You are calling the wrong number. Please stop using the white pages and finding just a last name and then continously call my number. I have told you no less than 10 times I am not who you are looking for. I have requested your name. You have said you are Metropolitan, Elan, and Card Member Services. I have asked you for an address whereby I can send you a certified letter stating you are calling the wrong number. I have been told 3 times you have taken my number off the list but then I have received two calls from you today. I am tired of being harrassed as my name is not who you are looking for, I am the wrong sex, I do not owe you, I have never owed you and I can not even find out who the hell you really are! TAKE MY PHONE NUMBER OFF YOUR LIST AND DO NOT CALL ME AGAIN.
It sounded very real. I was suspicious because I don't know crap about my finances and my wife handles all. Why was this woman from "American Bank" calling me? I took a number 817-838-4347 x1560313 and looked the number up online and found this site. Thanks.
err: Yep, "business matter" is the vague way of saying "collections account". From prior reports this sounds like internal first party collections, to which the FDCPA (as cited at ridiculous length by Annoyed) will not readily apply. However, if the bank has the wrong target, it can't hurt to use a third party defensive move like sending a written cease-comm.
They called asked to speak my husband or me. I said this is me. "Mary" said she needed to speak to my husband. UHHHHH you just said my husband or myself, so....
Long story short, she was rude as heck, needed my husband for a "business matter, AND SHE WAS CALLING FROM US BANK.
I called USBANK and she said nope, not us and the company was phishing and just guessed we even had business with USBANK. So peace of mind for me. Next time they call, I'll let her known although we're both here, we're not available as we're getting ready to practice beastiality..(or however you spell it) and she should really give it a go...but to start small, like with a goat or something:)
Can we make a law suite on this matter?
Called asking for a person unknown to my household. Our phone number is new within the last 8 Mos. so I will give them the benefit of the doubt. When I told the caller there was no such person at this number he politely apologized for calling. We shall see...
To jw...........this is US BANK themselves. It is their collection department, not a collection agency!!!
I get several calls a day. Call back and it claims to be with US Bank and asks for 16 digit Credit Card number. They are not affiliated with US Bank. Accounts are in good standing. This is a scam. Contact your state attorney general and file a complaint.
stop calling me
They have been calling me twice a day for several days. I do not answer and they never leave a message.
I too hung up when I was told that payment had to be made over the phone, as I suspected a scam. However, I did call US Bank directly, and they verified that this was the phone number of a collection agency they use (under the name Cardmember Services), and that the claim was based on an apparent missed payment. So, to be fair, any rudeness or un-professionalism experienced in calls from this number is not US Bank itself, but the agency that they are several other companies use.
This number called me and no one answered when I answered the call. I called them back and spoke with "Amy" and complained to her how it was rude, unprofessional AND annoying that her bank would dial me using an automated system and have no one there for me to talk with. She never said another thing and disconnected the call. Here's some valuable information in case you are receiving collections calls for debts (this call is an example of a Section 806 HARASSMENT OR ABUSE violation):

i called them back.. it is us bank, i had to call us bank and verify it was them because their "collection" agency was telling me I was late on payments when i wasn't. 2x these people hung up on me and that is what prompted me to call the main number on my cr card statement. very suspicious and unprofessional. why call me and tell me late payments and that i have to give them my checking account over the phone (even when not late!!!!!????

I do NOT answer these calls, but after the 5th call from (877)-838-4347 'Cardmember Services', I decided to find out just who the hell they are. So I called them back, the lady did NOT give me her name but said she was with Cardmember Services (DUH!). I asked "o.k. for what Card Company?" She said: "American Express, Visa, MasterCard, we represent them all, so I just need your Account # please". (I'm surprised she said please quite frankly.) I told her: "LOOK, I am on a NATIONAL & COLORADO NO-CALL LIST - remove my phone # immediately!". She got ugly with me & said "Sir, the only way I can do that, it if you give me your Credit Card #". At this point I'm LIVID. "MA'AM - - MY PHONE # IS (720)-***-****, remove my number now! GOOD BYE!" And of course I hung up. Now I'm getting calls from these 8ss-H*les every night sometimes twice daily. I'm reporting this # PLUS 818-663-9472 'Service Call', to all of the sites PLUS the F.C.C., Attorney General & anyone else that have received complaints from these types of scandalous companies. We've got to stand together as victims, because what they are doing is NOT LEGAL. I'm going to contact my Attorney today, to see about getting a Class-Action suit against both Companies after I do some more due-diligence on my part. Feel free to E-Mail if you've experienced something like this from these 2 phone #'s (NO others though please, I can't take 'em all on.)
LEO1WOLF@MSN.COM
I also have been getting called by US Bank 1 to 3 times or more sometimes a day even though my attorney has notified them not to contact me but write them.
I thought of something everyone can do to get back at us bank...
when us bank calls you just go to a room where no one can hear anything and answer the phone but do not say anything. just lay the phone down somewhere and keep the line open as this will tie up a line with us bank.
This bank has called about a dozen times over the past year. They continue to ask for a person who does not live at my address/telephone number. I explain to the rep this fact but in a short time I get the call again. I will now send a cease amd desist letter to thier corporate hq in Minneapolis with a return receipt asking for a writen acknowledgement within 30 of reciept. If the witten acknowlegement is not forthcoming, I will formally complain of harrasement to our attorney general's office. More later.
I applied and was approved for a credit card with Academy Sports. When I received my card through the mail, I realized it was through U S Bank. I had one charge at Christmas (the reason I applied for the card was because of a promotion they were offering of $50 off the purchase at that time.) My purchase was a rather large amount and I thought with the economy as it is, $50 is $50; so, I chose the card. When the bill came in the mail, I paid it in full immediately (actually before it was due). I do NOT want calls from them. It is annoying to receive "promotional calls" from ANYONE! This will more than likely prompt me to cancel my card and NOT do business with them again. Please remove me from calling list.
If anybody out there enjoys peace and quiet, DO NOT deal with US Bank!!!! I have lost my job due to the economy and got behind on a few bills. I worked with this company and set up an automatic payment plan through there Hardship Program....however, they failed to tell me that I would continue to be harassed. It's pretty stupid of them because most banks still want to keep a good relationship even if there are problems because these sort of problems are usually only temporary. I could have taken the easy way out and filed bankruptcy but didn't, but with their continued harassment they are making me reconsider that decision.
keeps contacting us at our place of business, but we never get past our greeting as it hangs up 2 seconds after answering. Called 3 times in 1 hour. I called the number back and spoke to a rep who could only give me assumptions as to why they were contacting us so frequently. Most likely one of our employees listed our business number as a contact. Very frustrating since the caller never speaks at all, just hangs up.
This is US Bank who apparently bought out Elan Financial, I guess there is bail out money and buy outs to get these banks out of financial trouble. What about us lonely Americans who have lost there jobs due to the economy and our governments mistakes? The government doesn't make anything available to us to help us out of financial difficulty except for extending Unemployment benefits which for me is only about 60% of my working income which doesn't cover all the bills. Sorry my child is my priority!!
Hey you all. It is illegal for anyone to call you without sending something in the mail to notify you. Get any information you can # of account and turn them in to the Attorny General. This is harrasment !!! I don't have any idea who they are. I have no open accounts. Best of luck.
Appears to be a collection department
They call 20 times a day- no messages- all hang ups. TAKE YOUR MONEY OUT OF US BANK. Send them the message that we deserve courtesy and that their harassing methods will hurt their business. IF YOU HAVE A US BANK ACCOUNT AND THEY ARE HARASSING YOU_ CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT!!
I hate this US bank . i opened a card at Cache and they sent it to me and it was through this bank and they keep harassing me. They SUCK. I mailed a payment ON TIME and they said it was late so I was charged with a late fee+finance charge. I will NEVER have an account with US Bank because they call everyday and are complete psychos
US bank is a horrible company, all they want is money cause they are broke, so they call random ppl
they called me 18 times in the past two weeks, i dont even own a credit card from them, they left no message, and i will never ever do buisness with US bank because of the poor comunication
received call, did not answer. called back and it was credit card services. i don't have u.s. bank for any services, so i wonder who this really is.
No message left
Called us on Sat, Jun 14 2008. No clue, wasn't expecting any calls from a 877 number. Would like to be removed from the calling list. Didn't leave message or any form of identification. Jerry R.
I have sent them a cease and desist letter and they will not comply...i will be reporting them. Anyone who gets repeated phone calls can write to the company to legally make them stop...if they do not they are to be reported to the state attorney generals office and the companies will be fined.
An agent called me to collect a past debt that I had already resolved and worked out a program with the company. When confronted and requested to speak to a supervisor I was hung up on.
If this is from USBANK, why is the bank not doing anything about this? I have closed my accounts with USBANK long time ago, they are a horrible bank.
I guess they call as much as they want but they will not get a response from me. I'll answer the phone and just hang up, how's that. One othis days if they don't stop calling, I will answer and fuck them all.
People they want aren't here, left 5 years ago.
No Message left, but have called several times. Caller ID just says "Toll Free Service"
This number has called 9 times this week! We are on the 'do not call list' and we will report this if it doesn't stop. I keep a record!
Agree with Joe but they claimed they were Elan bank... The caller was a rude jerk!
This is a collection call from US BANK Credit Card
