It is T-Mobile. When you cancel your service with them they harass you to pay any remaining money owed before they even send you a bill. I received a letter threatening me with collections before they ever even sent me my final billing. Then to make things worse they billed me for entire months service when it was cancelled two hours after my new billing period started. I loved T-Mobile and had them for years. I recommended them to everyone. Never again.

A bill collecting company named ERC (their statement) keeps calling me even though I asked them not to. A number does show in caller ID when they call. They have called my family in another state and bothered them as well. Also my e-mail has been hacked and every person in my contacts list has gotten 2 e-mails with negative statements about me and my money situation, they even make me sound suicidal.
Needless to say my friends and family were worried sick because of the worried sick because of these e-mails. Who are these people who think that we the people will put up with this? What can be done about them?
T-Mobile past due acct dept, absolutely true not a scam..if a person doesn't have tmobile the person with the same number before them did..past due. If I pay my bill it takes a few days for the collection dept to see it, no worries its paid, just tell them and they will quit calling. Ha, I am past due quite frequently so they bug often, but it usually takes 3 weeks of being behind and that is a plus my friends!!

This is NOT T Mobile, its a scam. I checked every single number listed on T Mobiles website, and this number is NOT listed. Also, they called me to ask me some questions to see if they could lower my monthly payments. First, that's a complete lie. Why would any business want to lessen income they have coming in?? They aren't going to voluntarily help you lower you bills. Secondly, if you have a past due account with T Mobile, they send you 1 single text message each month its late. They never call (unless perhaps you are over 60 or 90 days past due), and at that point they probably send you delinquent account to another company for them to collect on the amount, so it can't be the credit department or billing department asking for money.
Yeah, it's T-Mobile. They are calling to harass me over my past due phone bill. They are worse than the mob. However, I have a pretty decent phone (SGH-T118) that can block specific numbers through receive call options.. You should look into your phones options and do the same. Hope this helps.

When I called the number back, I got T-mobile's billing department, which looked up my account (it is past due).
They've called me 10 times since the 7th and haven't left me a message. It's pissing me off. I called T-Mobile's main number, and they said my account was paid in full. So I don't think it's T-Mobile.

These calls are part of a sophisticated ID theft scam operation. Those people on this comment board claiming that this really is T-Mobile are either part of it or idiots that gave their info and were scammed. Look at how many comments were from people that either didn't have a T-Mobile account or were current on their account.
If you get a call DON'T call back and certainly don't give them ANY personal info. If you screwed up and did, place a fraud alert on your credit report. You can do this online with any of the 3 agencies. They will report to the other 2.

It's T Mobile, supposedly they only call if you have a past-due amount on your bill. However, there have been plenty of times we've already paid the bill and they keep calling anyway. Like now for instance. We paid the bill - before the due date, mind you - in full earlier this week. Then starting this morning, they've called several times today. It's extremely irritating. They will call at all hours of the day too - I've gotten calls as early as 7 AM and as late at 11 PM. I just turn the phone off when they start calling - I know our bill has been paid, there is NO reason for them to be calling especially not at such early/late hours and not 10+ times a day!

For what its worth to you all... I found this page after doing a search on" CHECK CRD PURCHASE 12/23 T-MOBILE IVR PAYMENT 800-937-8997", which showed up on my bank statement. I was not called by this number, but MY BUSINESS BANK ACCOUNT WAS COMPROMISED AND FRAUDULENTLY CHARGED BY THE ABOVE NAME, to well over $2k. On the same day, I had a personal credit card compromised for $1k, which had to be cancelled. So yes... beware of that phone number.... Bad juju and my banks say they are going after it.

This is not tmobile in perticular. It is a call center hired by a few differant companies, primaraly tmobile but also Verizon and other cell companies to send out pre-recorded messages.

I got a call on my home phone from this number with a recorded message for an ex-boyfriend who moved to another state over 8 years ago. The recording said, "This is T-Mobile calling with an important message. We need to speak to you about your account." Well, he didn't have T-Mobile when he lived here, and I have no idea how they got this number.
It's T-Mobile's finance department. Its a computer automated call that isn't designed to leave a voice message unless the call is physically answered. The call is for those with overdue payments on their cell phone bill. If you don't have a T-Mobile phone someone you know does and has you as a contact number if they can't be reached or someone you don't might have your number as well for a contact. This isn't a scam. Also all call centers (finance departments included) doesn't take note of all calls they receive or of those that go out hence the constant calling.
I just added them to my block list. I am tired of getting called by them

I am a verizon CELL PHONE customer receiving calls from this number. They have called two days in a row. I first access this wonderful web site and get a handle on the number. Now that I know there is a problem, I enter the number in my cell phone contacts and assign a no-ring response for that same number. This way I don't know if they are calling.

I stopped my auto pays with t-mobile and forgot to pay my bill. A couple of days before I got a text message from them I started getting calls from this number. I just called it and IT IS T-MOBILE!! Call it and they answer. No mystery.

Don't believe that it's TMobile. It is another place that has hacked into their system to get customers' information. Past and current clients, it seems. Do not give them any information. Calling TMobile will confirm if you are overdue (current clients) or, you know, checking your account online. If you don't have an account with them, well that answers that question.

I have gotten calls from this number repeatedly over the last three weeks. I called T-Mobile and it is NOT them. I was told they do not call anyone without an account, and the phone number will ALWAYS show T-Mobile. Any claiming to be them will call from a T-Mobile number.

I was reading through some of these post where people just think there would be no other reason for this number to show up tons of times during the day other than you are a deadbeat who should just pony up the money you "must" owe... Well I just want to say pull your head from between your buns and stop being so quick to put people down. I am proud to say I am up to date on my bill to the point I have over a 300.00 credit due to paying all of those bills on time. That does not reflect to employee discount that will be added on too. Due to "their" mistake they turned my service off but turned it right back on then put a hold on my account so it won't happen again since there won't be getting any money for awhile...

Also want everyone to know the reason why there isn't a a msg being left is because it is a computer until it confirms there is a human on the line. Hope this helps, as far as removing your # just answer the call play dumb and ask to be removed due to your wk/ sleep schedule. They can only discuss the bill with the person who's name it's in or with an auth user. Then if you do need to talk to cust service call 611 or the other 800# that others have listed.

The #BAL# never even works from my phone. My Internet is in and out all day. My mom passed away and, during the crisis a lot of people called me, and it was right at the end of my billing, so I went over without even knowing. Customer "Care" was unsympathetic...all they care about is their money. I even wrote a letter to Customer "Relations", and in fact told them when this happened to my friend, not only did they waive the charges, they also gave her EXTRA MINUTES!! I even paid what I could afford of the bill, which was several x more than my regular bill.
T-mobile expects that, during this crisis, I would have called them to sign up for a higher-cost plan. Yeah, right.
Needless to say, I am no longer doing business with t-mobile. Bad customer retention policy
T-Mobile now offers Home Phone Service in some areas for 10.00 a month.. (It was on the outside of my bill envelope.) Could be calling to offer that service.. I too, am getting these calls and I also agree, they need to leave a voice message.

For a number of reasons, this number can't possibly be associated with T-Mobile:
* I've NEVER in the past been called when the bill ran late. T-Mobile always used text messages.
* Reports of calls occuring at insane hours (5am, 8am, past 6/10pm...)
* The fact that sensitive information (SSN, etc.) is asked for when the call is answered.
* Many reports of non-TMobile customers (and even non-cellphone) being called by this number.
Not to mention the fact that no message is left. That alone should be the red-flag indicating the call is suspicious.
If you don't initiate the call, don't reveal your identity.
I've never gotten a call from T Mobile for being late before. Why start now? And I'm not even that far behind on my bill.

i got a call from 877 819 6042 on may 5, 2008, it was a recorded message saying they were T mobile and asking for someone with my last name but a different first name and saying if i was that person press 1 otherwise press 2, so i did not press any number and merely hung up. when i did a *69 that was the number that came up. that's not any of the T mobile numbers on the T mobile website. i think it's a phishing scam. I'm on the do not call list and have never had a T mobile account, so the call was illegal no matter who made it or for what purpose. If it's an elaborate identity-phishing gig, I hope the feds and T mobile are hot on the heels of the perps.
This is pissing me off, they called me last night at 11:30 when i was on the phone already and I had to put my friend on hold or whatever, and today twice, once was in class and I had to convince my teacher not to take my phone away, and they just called me again a few minutes ago. Yeah, I missed my payment by ONE DAY with T-Mobile, and I received a total of five calls the next day from this number as well as three text messages. Can anyone say harassment? Everyone needs to remember that T-mobile does NOT operate on an American customer service model but rather a German one. For example, if you call to report that your reception "sucks", then the customer service rep will hang up on you citing that the word "sucks" is profanity. How do I know? It's happened to me twice.

They start calling at 8 AM and don't stop until right at 9 pm. There are times they call 2-3 times within a 5 minute period. They call every few minutes and drive me crazy.

I looked it up on my online account and everything is fine. I checked my balance from my phone and it is up to date. They ask for your checking account info or credit card info. Don't give it to them.

Got a call from this number, no message.. I dont even have T-mobile.. I called them back at the number, and was redirected to the t-mobile support line. sat on hold for 10 minutes, operator was clueless. Said that maybe someone entered the wrong number in the "Call me back" box on their website or something. Either that, or maybe some scammers are spoofing t-mobiles support line trying to gain information.

I think this is a SCAM!!!! They have been calling me telling me that my bill is past due. The first time I got this call, an automated message told me I was $289.00 past due. I knew that was wrong. So I hung up and pulled all my bills for the year and verified that I didn't miss any payments. I was right, I didn't. So I called T-Mobile's customer service number (which is...1-800-937-8997) and they said my account was current and could not understand why anyone would call me and tell me that, especially when my account has never been over due for that amount.
I think the people calling from the 1-877-819-6042 number are phishing for information over the phone. The are finding people who are customers or former customers (they are probably not able to determine their current customer status), and they are calling people at random, knowing that it is very common for people to be late/overdue on there bills. They are getting information from some of those customers who believe it is T-Mobile. NEVER GIVE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE WHO CALLS YOU(SS#, credit card #, banking info, password, ANYTHING PERSONAL!!!) even for donations. Call them back - take the time to look up the number for customer service yourself (ex. look on your bill). This may be a T-Mobile number but maybe these people have some sort of way of making this number come up on the caller ID as a number belonging to T-Mobile and the say they are T-Mobile but that does not mean they really are.

I DONT EVEN HAVE TMOBILE AND THEY ARE CALLING ME EVERY DAY
I get calls every day, about 2-3 times a day. Those underpaid employees have nothing better to do than to harass. =(
They called me on 12/12/07 and did not leave a message! Very unprofessional! I called back and it was an automated message for T-Mobile. I already paid my bill though! So, why are they calling me!?
This is T-Mobile calling to tell you that your bill is past due. They won't leave a message. If anybody wants to know their T-Mobile account balance, all they have to due is dial #225# on your cell phone. The balance will come up on the screen.
The number that received the call today has no cell phone, and never has.

I've had t-mobile for a few years, and just a couple of months ago I got set up on automatic payment, so why would they be calling me now? I am not sure it's really them, but they called several times this evening, persistent! In the past, before auto billing I would only get a text if the bill went past due. I would be leary of these calls.

It's T-Mobile. They call when my bill is late, like right now. Only one or two calls every couple days, and no messages until it's like 10 days past due.
My grandmother has been getting these phone calls a dozen times per day for over 3 weeks now. I left T-Mobile last week for AT&T because of the abuse their manager heaped on me and my wife. I will never go back, and encourage everyone else to leave or never sign up. Should you ever dispute a bill, they will do nothing to try and appease you, and call you liars in the process, even when their own documentation backs you up.
I have gotten a call from this number 4-6 times a day for the last 5 days. I dont know what is going on and they never ever leave a message. Seems to be a number from T-Mobile...

I ge the call everyday if I am late, but for 3 years I was off contract and never got a call, now that I resigned to get a better plan and a 15% corporate discount through my job they call all the dam time.

This number along with a (213) number has been calling my cell everyday on the regular as least six times a day. I really think it might be some form of identity theft, so, I will suggest to just let your phone ring of maybe turn your phone completely off. That's what I am doing.

Anytime my T-Mobile bill is a little late I get calls from this number. I answered it once to find out who it was, but ignore it now. They never leave a message.

I think its a T moblile number, and they call you when their system shows that you havent paid ur bills. ( May be u have, its just the system). Its sad that they dont leave a message.

I've been getting this call about twice a day for the past 3 days. I'm sick of it. I do believe it's a scammer because it makes no sense for them to need a confirmation of your SSN if you aren't paying anything, or for them to call former or NEVER Tmobile customers, or to ask for people we've never heard of. Also very fishy to not leave a message.
I've been a Tmobile customer for about 2 years now, and i JUST NOW get these calls? I don't even pay my bill, my dad does, so i never have to worry about it being over due. This is ridiculous, and if they call again i'm easily going to tell them to fuck off.

Okay - I called back. It is Tmobile billing. Apparently they called so many times because I am due to be cut off, she said Text Messages, but it was definitely phone calls.
I am a T-Mobile customer and I believe that is who is calling me. Three times today! From 8am to just now at 7:30pm. I know I owe and I called yesterday to make a payment arrangement. I don't know whats going on... I think I'll call it back...

This is a TMobile Billing call. They have continuously called here for several months looking for an individual we do not know. I have told them several times we do not know this person, they say they are taking our number out of their system and we won't get calls anymore. A few days to about 2 weeks pass by, and the calls come in again. It is getting very old and very annoying.
Just found out from this that the 877-819-6042 is T-Mobile Customer Service. Maybe a dozen calls from them with no message (???) If T-Mobile goes overboard with these calls or one way or another issues a warning/threat, then this will drive customers to other carriers or to governmental regulatory agencies.

This number IS NOT T-mobile. They claim to be some collection agency and when I gave them my number to see why them are calling me they said they are looking for someone named Sam Michaelson. Well I am not him - and they keep calling!!!

I saw the above number and spoke with customer service. I don't even have an account with T-Mobile and I reminded them about the National Do Not Call registry. Granted they didn't leave a message...but why would they call me. So I questioned the customer service rep. and she apologized and never really explained why I was called, but she said she would make sure my # was never called again.
This is a T-Mobile service number. They want me to pay my bill. I don't want to, because they give HORRIBLE, GOD-AWFUL SERVICE. I've never been so dissatisfied with a company, and I want them to let me out of my contract without the hefty fee.

I think this is a SCAM!!!! They have been calling me telling me that my bill is past due. The first time I got this call, an automated message told me I was $289.00 past due. I knew that was wrong. So I hung up and pulled all my bills for the year and verified that I didn't miss any payments. I was right, I didn't. So I called T-Mobile's customer service number (which is...1-800-937-8997) and they said my account was current and could not understand why anyone would call me and tell me that, especially when my account has never been over due for that amount.
I think the people calling from the 1-877-819-6042 number are phishing for information over the phone. The are finding people who are customers or former customers (they are probably not able to determine their current customer status), and they are calling people at random, knowing that it is very common for people to be late/overdue on there bills. They are getting information from some of those customers who believe it is T-Mobile. NEVER GIVE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE WHO CALLS YOU(SS#, credit card #, banking info, password, ANYTHING PERSONAL!!!) even for donations. Call them back - take the time to look up the number for customer service yourself (ex. look on your bill). This may be a T-Mobile number but maybe these people have some sort of way of making this number come up on the caller ID as a number belonging to T-Mobile and the say they are T-Mobile but that does not mean they really are.
Get calls 4+ times a day from "Private" since my new service with Tracfone. They FINALLY left a message today with this phone number, indicating it is T-Mobile calling for someone I don't know. They should get their butt in gear and know when a phone number does not belong to their network!!!!
Hey everyone like its been posted previously. Its T-MOBILE. Thats all it is, if your late on your bill they will call 100 times a day until you pay it.
I don't mind it as it gets my butt in gear but what I do not like is the constant calls and not leaving a number when my voice mail picks up.

T-Mobile leaves their automated message 6-8 times a day claiming an account. We have no account with them, have never had an account with them. We have reported the number to the Do-Not-Call-Registry with no results. This abberant company can evidently harass people incessantly with impunity.

This could be a legit Tmo number, but bear in mind that you cannot trust caller ID. I work on PBXs and one can make the caller id to show as any number provided access to hi-capacity circuit! So, do not rely on past call IDs from t-mobile.

I keep getting calls from this number. I tried answering the call and they always hang up. I've called the number back and was transfered to T-Mobile customer service. I asked them why am I receiving calls from this number and they claim they have nothing to do with this number and cannot explain the calls. On a side note -- I do not have an account with T-Mobile. The number they are calling is my Sprint Cell Phone which I use as my business number.

I called t-mobile customer service on the 800 number listed on their website and confirmed that this number is definitely a t-mobile customer service/billing phone number. I told them they should put a valid caller id on the number if they expect people to not be suspicious.
They did leave a message saying that there is an important call for me. To what I've read, this is harassment, as well as being against the law.

This is a T Mobile number, although when I called them back they denied it was theirs. They have been harassing me for several months. I told them I wanted the calls to stop immediately, that my number was registered in the Federal Do Not Call Registry, and that if I saw this number in my called ID again I would report them. Yesterday they called three times while I was out. I made three complaints with the Federal Do Not Call Registry. I will make a separate complaint for each call I receive. I recommend the same course of action to anyone who is awakened relentlessly by these morons.

It's T-Mobile and it is likely regarding your account. I was a month passed due because I changed credit cards and did not update my account. However, they were still calling after I had updated the information on-line and paid. Their phone department and internet do not seem to be in sync. They will call and call and call without leaving messages!
I believe they are a third party, companies use them to collect.
T-Mobile customer service rep called to thank me for my recent Razr V3t purchase and to let me know my bill was a week overdue and to ask "... how did you want to pay for that today?" To which I replied, "I don't"

First they called yesterday and didn't leave a message, then they woke me up this morning at 8 AM. (As a waiter at a late night restaurant I work late at night and I am ASLEEP at that hour!!) I was so pissed I told the person what time it was and where they could shove it!!! Too bad I didn't ask who the hell they were.
