So far I've gotten 5 calls today. It never ends!

is there any way to stop these calls when i'm on the do not call registry?

These people have even went as far as to call my ex-daughters cell phone which was never given to them. In one 6/6/009 we received 8 calls that started at 8:38am. the last call I told them not to call again and hung up on them. Lets see what happens next.

I've NEVER had a Capital One card.

And since they've been calling & harassing me for months I wrote a nasty letter to Capital One telling them that they not only would I NEVER EVER get one of their cards, I was actively discouraging friend, family & aquaintances from doing so, based on their harassment.
THAT got a result and on Nov. 21 Matthew Dalton at Capital One acknowledged that they were calling me in error and claiming that they would remove my # from their list.Clearly that didn't work!

Filed another DONOTCALL complaint (which seems to do nothing).
Not sure who else can help.
Seems like state attorney generals from where the calls originate wont' help. My phone provider claims they can't block calls.
Any other suggestions?

Another SILENT call when I pick up.
This time when I call the # back it's answered as NCO/Capital One.
I'd written to Capital One back in November when I kept getting calls from India about my Capital One account. (I'VE NEVER HAD ONE!)
And told them that because of this harassment I would never in a million years consider getting their card either!
They (*Matthew Dalton -Executive Response Committee) claimed (Nov. 21, 2008 by email) that it was an error & they'd removed me from the list, but obviously not.
Filled the usual DONOTCALL.GOV complaint & also a complaint with the FCC directly.
Will update their company rep on Vanno.com as well.

They have called for our son who has not lived here for 10 years saying this the the number they have on file for him. They stated that it was urgent that they have his number. When we asked what the nature of the call was, they said they couldn't disclose because of Privacy Act.

EVERY STINKEN DAY,I GET THESE CALLS.PRETTY SOON I AM GOING TO QUIT MY JOB AND START CALLING THESE NUMBERS ALL DAY LONG DAY AFTER DAY AND JUST BUG THEM LIKE THEY DO ME.

these calls are starting bug the shit out of me i mean really what the fuck could you really want calling me 5-6 times a day

These people have called my home phone about 6 times, each time wanting to speak to my husband about a personal business matter. He either isn't home or he can't come to the phone. They refuse to tell me the nature of the call.

This is the collections department for Capital One. They call everyday even after I set up a payment for them. When I answer, they say it was a mistake with the dialer and my phone number will be removed but it never is.

49 calls from this number since 11/16/2007 - never left a message. I finally got frustrated and answered on 12/8/07 when they asked for some Jacob (not in my household). Told them they had wrong number. 12/9/07 they left a message for me to call them concerning a "personal business matter immediately." I called back 12/10 and was immediately asked for my Capital One account number. I asked who they were looking for - again, some Jacob. Told them wrong number and they replied - "you must have a fairly recent new number." Told them I'd had it for more than 6 years. They said they'd remove from database. Once again, 12/10/07 at 8:50 PM - another phone call from this number - no message left. Filed a complaint with PA AG.

Called my parents house looking for me, haven't lived there in 35 years. Wanted my Social Security number so that he could look up the information. Were calling my house after talking with them, I was not who they were looking for, was told they would remove my number from the call list. Recieved four more calls that weekend.

i just got like 4 calls from them while i was at work!

Ever wonder where drug addicts, prison parolees, and newly released mental patients go? They become debt collectors....oh.....that's why they are BRAIN DEAD DIRTBAGS!

This number called twice this am already, but doesn't leave a message, just hangs us. I do not answer toll free calls, and do not return unless a message is left. I put my number some time ago on the Do Not Call Registry, but have doubts that it works.

call again at 8:25 tonight and other days I called the number last week and they said it was a mistake/it wasn't them but they keep calling.

I receive the same message as all of you. No one by the name of the person they are asking for lives in my house. I called the number back and a man answered the phone and said "hello". I thought that was kind of strange, a business answering the phone hello. He was very rude and hung up on me. I called back and ask for a supervisor. This man told me he would fix the problem. The next day they called again.

Same situation - Capital One (via NCO) looking for a deadbeat on weekends, 8:30 at night, mornings, etc... I've been advised for weeks that my number will be removed and that it could take 24 to 48 hours. I called back tonight and demanded a supervisor who assured me that within 48 hours the calls would definately stop. If not I've already drafted a letter to the FTC and the state AG.

Numerous calls made at different times of day. This started after I got a new phone and changed my number to the new phone. Someone spilled the beans.

keep getting calls from this company, and they are not even looking for me, but someone totally unknown to me. how do we stop this!

This number has called me several times in the last three months with an "Important Personal Business Message". I finally called back and got NCO Financial asking for my Capital One account number. I told them I didn't have one and they maintained they didn't have my number in their system. A second call yielded a name of somebody of was on old room mate of my husband, like 15 years ago. Argggh! We'll see whether the calls will stop now.

They've been calling my house almost daily for the last 3 months looking for a man that has never lived here who has a debt with Cap1. I've talked to them and have told them they have the wrong number. The rep told me the calls will stop. I hope they do stop or my next contact with NCO will be via a law suit.

Lousy Stinking %$#s!
They have been calling me for more than a year looking for some deadbeat with my first-last name (a very common name) but who lives on the other side of the country. No matter how many times I explain, beg, plead, rant, scream etc they do not stop calling.
One of their callers even demanded the my birthdate and the last four digits of my social security number to "verify" that I wasn't their deadbeat. When I refused to give her my personal data she told me the calls would continue and it would be MY FAULT.
I used to think the Capitol
one commercials were funny
but now I will never sign up for any of theirs services.

NCO has called a 3rd family member several times. They are the most obnoxious people I have ever encountered.

Keep calling and asking for someone I don't know. I just got this phone number and I think it belonged to someone with debt problems before. They won't give me opportunity to tell them I'm not this person. I said it's a wrong number but they still call every single day! I'm not her, stop it! stop it! stop it!

Unknown name, unknown number, but when call the number on the answering machine it is NCO Looking for a person who owes Capital One. This person is unkown to us. Called last week to have our number removed from their system. Have even threatened to turn them in to AG of NY to no avail. They call 24/7 at least 8 times a day.

I HAVE HAD IT!!!! I receive calls from this number at least four times a day from 8 in the morning to 11:00 at night, I cannot stand it anymore, I would love to answer the phone and give them a peice of my mind but all they have is a dang recorded mssage telling me to call them. NO WAY!

These people started calling my cell phone repeatedly. For those who don't know, it is AGAINST THE LAW to use an auto-dialer to call any phone service where you might be charged (aka cell phones). This kind of offense can be reported to the FCC at fcc.gov

Calling incessantly on my new cell phone number for the prior owner. I went to their site and let them know I would be billing them for minutes in the future if they don't stop calling. Also let them know I would be getting legal council if necessary to handle them in the future.... We'll see.

I get calls from caller ID "UNKNOWN", leaving a message to call this number, for "an important personal business matter". My zip code is 19083.

These people at NCO Financail have called many, many times. They are looking for a person with the same last name as myself but that's the only thing in common. They have a female name and address (which does not match mine!) but my phone number in their system. No matter what I say and no matter how often they say they are correcting the situation....I get another call and we repeat the whole thing again. I have begun tracking their calls and getting contact names from them. I will report all this to appropraite authorities soon.

This number(877-803-8009) calls and leaves a message that gives the times to call them back, and says that it is a very important call. They call around 8:30pm at night. I have caller id will not answer the calls and will not return them.

I also recieve about 20 calls a day from this number starting early in the morning and going till around 8 in the evening.

This number calls me all day, every day, Sunday - Sunday.. I am so tired of the call.. The ID screen says..."Unknown Caller." but when they leave a msg., they say to "respond to a very PERSONAL matter" and leave this number to call (877-803-8009)...!
