- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Legitimate Business Companies Always Leave You a Message Because They Really Want To Talk to You and Are Calling You For a Specific LEGITIMATE REASON.
CALLER ID # 877 - 801 - 2498 HAS THE "PERFECT PROFILE" OF A VERY LONELY CHILD MOLESTOR AND OR PREDATOR WHO CALLS FROM HOME ALL DAY LONG EVERYDAY HOPING TO FIND HIS VICTIMS AT HOME BY THEMSELVES - THIS IS WHY THEY WILL NOT TALK TO OR ANSWER YOU IF YOU ARE AN ADULT - YOU ARE NOT HE TARGET.
CALLER ID # 877 - 801 - 2498 IS MOST LIKELY IN A "CM" NETWORK THAT BUYS, SELLS, AND TRADES IN THIS INFORMATION WITH THEIR CM GROUP.
Calling me every 1/2 hour or so. No message but they are determined.
Tired of the calls. Phone constantly rings all day. My credit cards are up to date paid, so there's no reason why these idiots call. I answered the call today from this number, using language the devil would be embarrassed of. This could be the start of something new. maybe instead of getting mad about it, I'll put some fun into it.
This is a great Greeting to Telephone Fraud Callers Who do not answer you or leave you a Messages - Any one of these should make them talk like chipmunks.

Some loanshark wants to feed on 30% interest.
Not on my flesh.
Received numerous calls, never left a message.
HSBC call cell phone up to 20 times per day without leaving a message. I have filed paperwork with HSBC for a hardship program to pay off the credit card two months ago, but have not received a response. I have called every week for a status update and was assured the calls would stop - they have not!!! Don't ever use an HSBC credit card.
Here's how I stopped the calls. I am going to post this to every number here that my software "traps".
As you may be aware, you cannot block toll-free calls. That is because the creditor is not really calling from a toll free number. Toll free numbers cannot place outgoing calls. The creditors "spoof" the caller ID to look like it's coming from a toll free number, but it is not, which is why your phone service cannot block those numbers.
I am going to refer to two company's products, but I promise you I am not spamming... I am just saying what worked for me. And it works VERY well.
First up is a Zoom PCI V.92 3025C voice modem. You can find them at pacificgeek dot com for 20$
Second step is software called "CallClerk". (callclerk dot com). CallClerk software can hang up on these jokers before your answering machine picks up.
Run a phone line extension to the voice modem in your computer, and install the software. You can set the software to play a message before it hangs up on any number you want it to. I have the software set up to play a recording of "We're sorry, the number you have dialed has been disconnected" to a-holes like this. payphone-directory.org
Turn off the ringers on your phone, and tell CallClerk to play a ring-tone for calls you want to accept. Unless you look at CallClerk's logs, you will NOT EVEN KNOW these jokers have called!
Sound complicated? In a way, yes, you need some kind of computer skills and some will to do this. But, let me tell you, it is SO worth it to take back control of your phone!
For sure HSBC. I used to answer but no more. They call numerous times per day. I owe them, but no job since Feb. Stupid creditors, They forget that loans are a risk. I suggest to anyone to not answer. They will eventually write these off or sell the debt. They should be put in jail.
You want these annoying phone calls to stop? My best suggestion, is to keep a record of the phone calls, the number, the time of day they call, and the amount of calls per day. Then find the email address to your local Attorney Generals, your Mayor, or even The Governors ofice, and start bombarding them with complaints. Sure these companies have a right to contact you, when you are behind on a payment, but they do not have the right to harrass you. There is a way to stop it but you have to act
First time they asked for my credit card number. 2nd time, no answer,
third time they asked for my 17 digit card number. I hung up each time.
Is this a scam. I will not respond they next time I see their number
on my screen. They call on my cell phone as well as my land line. They
asked for the last four digits of my card number which I ignored. I don't
owe anyone any money.
consolidating debts.. already sent them papers not to call..gave them number to call but they call at least 6 times EVERYDAY!!!!! I dont answer!
Im a little fag who loves my blowjobs from hsbc...so stop it...leave them alone...they my suck my cock buddies....
HSBC = THIS COMAPNY IS A PIECE OF SHIT ...SORRY FOR INSULTING SHIT...
have been called by this number 70 times since August 4, 2009 from 8 am til 9pm
I have files as many complaints but keep getting calls.
This is HSBC or Household bank.I called them today and asked for their mailing address and the girl said she would need an account number to look up the address.I asked her how she got to work every day if she did not know the address.I told her to dazzle someone elce with her Bull and give me the address so I could give it to my attorney. She gave me the address and I informed her I will sue them for harrassment.Funny how she could remember the address when I said attorney.
If this is a collection agency they have a very inefficient way of doing it. I am not behind on any payments but they still call and don't leave a message or even speak when I answer the call. Perhaps they get paid per call made from the credit card companies. It sounds more like a scam to me- DON'T EVEN ANSWER THESE CALLS! I don't annymore.
please this calling it is getting to be a pain in my ---
keeps calling on caller ID provided. if answered, nothing there or an automated response.
Continuous calling at my place of employment and do not leave messages. If they are a collection agency, they should be sending a letter to my home and not calling place of employment.
Calls and does not leave a number or call back number.
They are persistant i will say that much. They are a collection agency that collects for multiple credit card companies...They are part of Discover & Best Buy for some examples. They by law can and will call from 8AM to 8PM and never ever leave a message. I have been called 7 times today and by the end of the week I am sure the total will be 40 Plus times. When you do answer they ask you to hold and than call disconnects or the person on the other line says Hello and hangs up on you. I understand people may owe them money but try leaving a message-it may work. Me personally, no message no call back. I will not bother to call anyone back that harrasses me all day every day of the week and can't be bothered to leave a message. All the time they spend calling over and over they could have left at least one.
It is HSBC they have called over 80 times in the last week. I have asked them to stop but they won't? I owe them money, but they will not give up. Called 32 times in one day?????
I answer the calls but no one answers. There are a series of beeps that sound like a disconnected phone number has been dialed and then it hangs up.
They call 5-8 times a day - 7 days a week - never leave a message - why can't they get the hint that I am not interested!!!
This tel # (877-801-2498) started calling since last Saturday 3/21/09 on my cell phone and has been calling since. They call you from morning till evening at least 5x per day and the automated answer is "you have reached the card memeber services department, pls enter your 12 digit number and pin #. How do you stop these scammers they are very annoying. In these dire economic times even these scammers are getting desperate and the federal government/better business bureau needs to step up their campaign on this sort of things.
They call 8-10 times a DAY - I swear it seems 5-6 times every hour....Saturday and Sundays even!! I called the number back, want you to enter your card number?? WTF? I am unemployed dont want their damn card!!!
More research has showed me this IS a legitimate HSBC phone number. Someone on the inside is asking for SSN and CC number and has access to this number. PLEASE don't give them SSN or CC information. Legitimate calls from HSBC do NOT hang up and NEVER ask for SSN or CC number. BEWARE!
These turkeys called me twice today. They wanted social security and credit card info and claimed to be with HSBC. I called HSBC directly and they did not place the call. DO NOT give info to these callers. It's a fishing scam!
HSBC calls us atleast 5 times a day. If they don't get us on the home phone, they try my husbands cell. They never leave a message
HSBC -- Abuse to Elders is a Federal Crime -----877-801-2498 & 800-395-2274 HSBC has multi Banks under it's wing Capitol /Aspin / All over including INDIa WHERE MOST CALLS ORIGINATE---i DON'T EVEN HAVE ANY OF THERE BANK CARDS----so
EVERYONE SOULD E-MAIL ALL ----HSBC--- -BANKS & fINANCIAL CO. tHEY ARE LISTED IN BUSINESS see --CNBC--or like
you can SUE, let HSBC know you Know your RIGHTS . if they presist also DO NOT CAll --Register--FED .GOV Site most new phones,NOW have BLOCK NO. settings and lots of people are not aware of that also, call comes up but no RING and u can deleate it you can also open line and just put in all kind of No. to block there system..........
I do not know the caller and the reason they called. Why are the company's allowed to not identify themselves. If this business is to work, we need to know who called. Oh now I understand it is somekind of collections agency. I don't know why I would be getting a call. It sounds like their a lot of people in trouble. I wish there were some way we can stop these harrassing calls. How do we really know who these people are, it could be a scam. And I want them to stop calling all hours of the night and day. Also, to stop calling our cell phone #, or just leave a message.
ALL THEY WQOULD SAY IS HELLO
Calls everyday, 5 or 6 times a day. Caller id says unknown name. I get some recording. If I don't hang up then they ask for my husband. Refuse to tell me who they are. BUT today I did get the name Natlie Palm but she hung up & wouldn't tell me the company name. This has been happening for over a year.
They keep calling even though I owe any payments. HSBC card has me at payment of $120.00 for January & I sent M.O. for $1000.00 on December 30th and they still do not have my payment posted yet - it's only January 20th. That's 22 days & still have not gotten my payment. Somethings wrong here - and they want to hit me with late charges - I don't think so! I think it's a scam to get late charges. Last time I sent my payment of $200.00 13 days before it was due & they hit me with late charges & it was posted two days after that. I e-mailed them & they told me to send payments 10 to 14 days before due & there shouldn't be any problems. They totally ignored my question about why it takes them so long to post payments.
they call here all the time with no information just say hello delete this call immediately
Was put on hold to wait for "operator" then a woman came on asking for David acting like he was her friend. The first time I answered it was a guy looking for David. I am thinking this is a debt collector which is why they never say who is there. They are fishing.
Identified self as HSBC. (I have never had any business with any company called HSBC.) They hang up when I ask for more information. If I call back, it immediately says "enter your 16-digit credit card number" without identifying itself. This is obviously some kind of credit-card stealing scam. DO NOT EVER GIVE THEM A CREDIT CARD NUMBER!!!! Remember, never give your credit card information to any unsolicited call.
Called twice, hung up before I could answer and never left message. I don't have anything to do with HSBC so don't know why they are calling me.
They never leave messages, I'm not the person they're looking for, I've told them to stop calling me. It is barely noon on a Sunday and they've called four times since 8 am. This is seriously ridiculous.
This is an identity theft scam. Hang up, do not give them any information.
the assholes have another number too 800-361-5783
these people4 call all hours of the day and night we are in a recession and they don't even know it they just keep bothering people all day long if we dint's have jobs how on earth do you people expect to get paid
HIS IS AN IDENTITY THEFT SCAM, HANG UP! DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION.
This is now the 3rd HSBC number that calls me. HSBC calls me about 5 times per hour now, sometimes one right after another from different numbers. How is this not harrassment?
THIS IS HSBC CALLING IN REFERENCE TO AN UNPAID CREDIT CARD BILL
These people keep calling here, even after they told me that my office number would be taken off their call list. My co-worker is behind in payments, but I am just the person hired to answer the phone in the office. I have been harrassed by these people repeatedly and unfairly. I have no debt with them - MY CO-WORKER DOES!!!! They said they would contact the co-worker on their home phone, but they have NOT lived up to their promise!!! Stiffer laws should be put into place against callers like these - who harrass workers in offices and will NOT honor requests to stop the harrassment. I have a great credit rating myself, but would NEVER, EVER do business with inconsiderate people like this, whose behavior is inexcusable and unprofessional!!!
Let's all complain via any print medium we can find. Also to gov offices, etc. This junk needs to stop. Harrassment. Perhaps we can file a class action suit. Know a few attorneys always eager for a consumer battle. Intend to check some out. Others, do the same. We can stop them. Unity works.
These callers need to be put on "do not call" list.
Hey "Jackass" unknowing rights: "Means you haven't been paying your credit card bills. Duh."
I only have 3 credit cards, all with a $0.00 balance, credit score is over 800, and I still get these annoying calls.
All you have to do is have one credit card and they give your number to every other company related to them and you never hear the end of it.
DO NOT CALL list doesn't do any good.
im bout to shut down there whole system....
Oops...guess I forgot to pay my bill.
But for any of you reading this, it is completely legal for a collection agency to call you any day of the week between the hours of 8am and 9pm, and they can call every hour on the hour if they so choose. And no matter what you want to think or believe, the Do Not Call list only applies to telephone soliciters, not collection agencies.
Calls every 1/2 hr
Dont understand if its important why wouldn't they leave a message. A few days ago a 1-800 number called and it wasn't even for me so I ignore all 800 & 877, numbers. Like I said if its important they'll leave a message
Never leaves a message and calls many times a day/week.
wont leave message
thay wont leave message
call many times, tried to call as calling when can't get phone, it is a recording asking you to hold, i hang up, if they are calling me at least they can say who they are
Started getting calls at 10am. Had 6 of them by end of day-they were looking for "Evelyn B". Told them I wasn't her and that they had the wrong number, and that no one by that name ever lived here, but they persisted. Finally said they were HSBC Card Services, phones out of the Phillipines (thank you outsourcing...) I'm calling the FCC or somebody...
Ok these people have called my cel 18 times TODAY!!! I waited until I got home from work to google the # to see its from Direct Merchants bank. I USED to have an account with them. Its been closed with a 0.00 balance for over six months now. I called them tonight, and a very, very rude lady told me that i had a remaining balance and that I had missed a payment. I just so happen to have my records and copies from my last statement showing account closed and no balance, and told her i wanted the fax # so i could send to her right now. She stuttered and fumbled and said that I would have to contest by mail, not fax. I told her fine, go ahead, Ill be contacting my lawyer in the morning.
They called about 4 or 5 times today - and it's a sunday. I called back and got told they were closed at 8 PM CST - they called after that time though
They call and call..I don't answer!
who knows busy signal when trying to return call
Geez, I'm getting what seems like 10+ calls a day; I don't answer, they just keep calling...every day */*
they call and call each time I answer and NO ONE SAYS ANYTHING!!!! They have called 6 times within 5 hours---nobody is saying anything, or they are not on the phone!! It is so annoying!
whoops actually the link is fcc.gov
This is a scam to get your information
Block it and/or report it to fcc.gov
MONDAY I WILL START CALLING THEM EVERY FIVE MINUTES WITH MY PHONE ID SHOWING.
AND I WILL NOW PURCHASE A AUTO DIALER TO CALL THEM EVERY FIVE OR TEN MINUTES.
AND SAY PLEASE HOLD FOR SOMEONE WANTS TO TAKE WITH YOU AND HANG UP.
They keep calling and calling so I WILL CHANGH MY PHONE #
credit collections
1st Call today at 8:48am PST... we'll see how many I get today. I just quickly answer and hang up. Been doing that for almost 3 months...
Call several times a day, no msg or silence when phone is answered.
Shows up as Toll Free Call... They don't leave msg.
This is from HSBC. File a complaint with the FTC if they are calling you without reason. They should find out who belongs to a number before they call.
They are so damned arrogant....they called today for my wife and I had a bit of fun with them by disguising my voice....she was pissed when I started laughing "AT" her. Served her right.....
Sometimes people are giving out the wrong number, or your name is the same as the person being called - advise the caller you are the worng person - this may take 2 calls - if you get a third call tell them the same thing and politely ask to speak to a manager. If you dont want calls at work or cell phone, tell them that when they call these numbers. If you are past due, just listen even though it may be frustrating - they have options to help if you cannot pay.
Hey guys there is a free website that someone posted on here earlier that really does work to get rid of these annoying people. go to adviceontime.com they have a lot of useful info. hope this works for you too.
This number has called me at least 20 times in the past 2 weeks. They ask for someone with a similar name to mine. I've told at least 5 of them that they have the wrong person, to take me off the list. They get very annoyed by this. Is this just a collection agency of some type of identity theft scam? I am planning to write the head of HSBC, copying the attorney general of my state (when I have time amidst the calls). Also, they have called my cell and home phone and usually call at 8am. This is harassment at this point.
Auto Redialers should be against the law.
I don't have a credit card with hsbc. when I answer they hang up won't even talk to me
They called here like 7 times today asking for someone named Preston. I dont know anyone named Preston.
Called by this number today. They left no message. I have an Orchard Bank CC (which is HSBC). Totally up to date on my payments, no late payments ever, etc.
Seems, they are wasting their time calling people they don't need to be calling and pissing a lot of people off in the process.
Definitely HSBC! They are relentless. Twelve calls today after they supposedly took my number off their list yesterday! They have mistaken my number with someone that obviously owes me money. However, they don't even ask for the same name twice. Perhaps it shows that most of the agents that they hire can't read. I have talked with muliple - most are sooooo unprofessional and absolutely unattentive to what they are doing. The same joker called me back twice in a row after I kept him on the line until he hung up. He blamed it on the dialer.
They have been calling my phone number since yesterday morning, always asking for my mother-in-law, who has never listed my phone number for anything. When I tell them she's not available, they say "We'll try again later," and never leave a message. Mother-in-law stupidly did *69 and got a credit-card company automated answering service. She's up-to-date on all of her bills, so I don't know who could possibly want to bother her about finances.
Called, didn't leave a message. I get about 2 two calls everyday.
Got another call today from this number. Managed to grab the phone in time. Yes, it is HSBC. But if I call the number back I get a Los Angeles resident in the 323 area code. They are getting a lot of phone calls. I asked HSBC to leave a message identifying themselves and a phone number if they wish to call me (instead of hanging up and having this caller ID phone number that leads to a resident). We will see.
asked for a name that I do not know, would not say who they where, would not say why they called, wanted to know who I was, told them they obviously had no legitimate business calling and instructed them to add the number to their no-call list and cease and desist harrassment
called and woman said she received several calls from this number (I never mentioned number..I just said I was returning her call). She claimed to be in 323 area code.
Tired of them calling about 10 to 15 times a day... I'm not behind on any of my accounts... This started from day one of owning the credit card... They call before 8:00 a.m., and I once received a phone call on Sunday at 6:50 a.m. Ridiculous!!! They never say anything or leave any messages!!!
called me at work, but did not leave a msg.
Just the number; No voice mail
I get 4 calls from these people *every day* (including Sundays). No messages left.
If it's HSBC, I have an account with them but I am completely current and I have never missed a payment. They have called 4 times in the past 24 hours and left no messages. Whenever I have contacted them in the past (regarding my bill or whatever), they ALWAYS keep me on the phone and try to sell me additional services. Very annoying.
No message - HSBC is out of control.
This number has called my cell phone using minutes, etc., but while I am at work! It is very embarassing and while I DO have an overdue account with them, I have been making payments. They will NOT say who they are until I confirm who I am... I will NOT do that - they called me and will NOT engage in these games during work. I need to make money to pay them!
-At Work!
Receive several calls a day from this number. No message is ever left.
Sick of it
When they call, hang up and call them back. Don't press any buttons when asked. When they get to the line, note their name, then pick a name (like John), and ask for him. They'll say pardon? Just keep insisting to talk to "John". When they get frustrated, tell them "Now you know how I feel." Tell them that you are on the do not call list, and you want your number immediately taken out of the system. Proceed with questions... Remind them of their name from beforehand. Then verify their name. then say "I am going to make sure to file your name personally in my complaint/lawsuit." Keep going as far as you can to bother them. I guarantee that they will hang up on you. Give them a taste of their own medicine. Eventually, they will stop.
Identify themselves as from HSBC. Four times in as many days. Want to confirm my SS# and address (yeah, sure). They tell me they are attempting to collect past due payment for a merchant to whom I owe money on my credit card.
I don't have a credit card!
Hey if your tired of these calls like I am. When you sign up for anything don't use your home number. Go To samstownecenter.com
And sign up for Privatephone and they will only get a voicemail and you won't be bothered.
I apologize, I forgot to include the date and postal code in my previous message about 877-801-2498. My E-mail is wolfshield3@verizon.net, Thanks
This number continues to call me numerous times per day, starting as early as 8 AM. The only thing on caller ID is the number, 877-801-2498. They have never left a message on my voice mail and I do not respond to calls that do not identify theirselves.
HSBC credit card services. 15-20 calls a day EVERY day, and my bill is PAID!
said they were running a rewards program and got my number from "various credit card providers such as american express, visa, mastercard and discover" and wanted some information so that they could send me a reward for being such a good customer.
theyve called for awhile now and when we answer they never say anything. when we dont get to the phone in time they never leave a voicemail. its also strange that when they call their previous calling time is erased from our caller i.d..
Called 7 times today, and the day isn't over. What can we do?
Recieved a call frpm the above # on 01/20/07 for my mom who broke her hip in November. I paid all her bills from her disability check on November and December while she was in the hospital. She was moved to a rest home in late December. Her children had to come up with the money to pay for the months rent since I had already used her money to pay her monthly bills. I sent out a letter to each of her creditors in early January explaining the situation, hoping she will get out either in February or March. Will they please work with her and maybe wave her payments for a month or 2 or at least work with us through this difficult and stressful time. I received a call from the above number on 01/20/07 and explained all this to them, told them it was a temporary situation and they asked which nursing home she was in, they notated this in their system. When I got home on 01/23/07 they had called 6 times that day, when I finally got to talk to them that night, I told them I had already spoken to someone just 3 days ago, they looked and said they found the notes and would not call again. Last night when I got home from work there was 7 calls on from the on my phone and when the called when I did get home, I could not get to the phone before the answering machine got to it. Can they be reported to the Better Business Bureau?
No message left on voicemail
Call many times a day. I will not answer, no message (not that I would listen to it). If a bill is paid, but not minimum, can they repeatedly call you? If they cash your check, then aren't they accepting you paying less then minimum due? Anyone have an answer?
Thanks!
These idiots call 5-7 times a day, sometimes back to back.
And by the way....I have called the FCC.
My wife told me these people called while I was at work and said I was late with a payment on a HSBC card and they would wave the late fee if she paid, (right this minute) by check over the phone. My wife told them I'm never late paying the bills, but the person insisted there was a delinquent amount and wanted my bank routing # and checking #. She instructed them that I would check it out online when I returned from work and pay any amount that was late if such was the case. The person on the phone said they could only wave the late fee if it was paid NOW on the phone. My wife, (smart girl) said nothing doing and hung up. I checked my account with HSBC when I got home and all of my payments had been on time for the last 12 months. I then called the HSBC # on my statement and spoke to a rep who confirmed my payment history. This sounds like someone who works for HSBC is trying to make some cash on the side. Whatever you do, DO NOT give any info to the person that calls from this #.
These people call at least six times a day, and every time we answer we say "Please stop calling" or "Add me to your Do Not Call list", but they keep calling. They won't identify themselves or leave a message. It sounds like they call more than one number at a time and respond to whoever answers first. Sometimes there is someone there and sometimes there is not, and its not always the same person. This sounds fishy to me!
These people call all the time, early in the morning even on weekends, you pick up the phone and they hang up. Call back the number they have an automated service and you cannot dial "0" to get an operator or a live person. Very annoying.
These guys are obviously running a scam. Hope none of you fell for it.
Call persistently, about 5 times a day. No message, I won't answer.
This number calls my house 4-5X day (if no one home, no message is left. If someone answers, it is a recording that says "all of our operators are busy, please hold" or there is just blank space). It is very annoying.
They call repeatedly, but if I answer, there is never anyone there. This has been going on for months. I report them several times daily to the Do Not Call list.
second call today, in less than 3 hours, they let phone ring 4 times and hung up just as I got to phone.
Legal rights....I would consult the fair debt collection act. I do know that if they are calling you for some one else and you tell them that they have the wrong information they have to remove your number from their list. But these fuckheads don't give a damb about the law because they figure they can break it and will risk the slap on the wrist. Best way to deal with them is to not to do business with them, and if they continue to harass you get a restraining order. You mighthave to take them to court and may be able top collect some dmages from them if you can prove they are harassing you.
They have been harassing me for the last two weeks, calling me 5-6 times a day. Never leaving me a message.
what sort of rights do we have to take legal action against these a**holes?
These jackasses called my cell phone ten times in an hour starting at 7:30am and over 40 times before 6pm. I'll give them credit they are persistant and completly unprofesional. What can you expect from low wage SCUM that they hire to harass you when you even pay your bills on time. I started getting call even when my account balance was zero and I pay over the minimum requested amount each month. These people are complete assholes.
HSBC keeps calling my friend, no no one answers when she picks up. I called back and when asked for my account number, I just let them have it and they hung up on me.
There are two ways to stop calls from this number. First register your number, even a cell number, on donotcall.gov. After 31 days of your number being on the do not call list, you can file a complaint - which costs the telemarketer a lot of money. In the meantime you can go to the following web page, which will give you instructions about what to do when they call - before the 31 days are up. home.flash.net
I answered the phone, they asked for me by my full name so i said "I believe you have the wrong number, this is a cellphone and i just got it activated. You must be looking for the person who owned the number previously."
They appologized and never called again.
If you want them to stop calling try this method I have found in the net!
home.flash.net
They keep calling me. I have an Orchard Bank CC but that is never late (I know they are HSBC). I do not have a 1st premier card (although I do get spam from them everyday). I tried calling back from my office and got the recording asking for my Acct #. Since I don't have an acct #, I treid to select the lost or stolen option, they then put me on hold to wait for the next available rep. I hung up. They always call 2 times in a row too. I ignore the first call and sure enough, 2 seconds later, the phone is ringing again. This is a bunch of BS. What can we do about this?
Nothing like getting a call on your cell and THEY put you on HOLD. They asked if I was in and I said I would only get him if they gave me a company name and they wouldn't
This number called my prepaid cell phone every day. Only a few people know my cell number so I didn't answer the phone. But they still call. Very annoying!
People keep calling me from this number. I tell them not to call but they keep calling back. One time some guy asked if I want to buy vallium or some other drugs. Told them I wasn't interested and they keep calling me. They all seem to have accents I'm not sure where from.
Recieved 5 calls within 30 mins from this number...called back and it was a credit card company...we don't have an account with these people! If they ask for your name don't give it out...I punched in for the 16digit account number 1234-1234-1234-1234 to get some one on the phone and had them take my number off their list.
Multiple calls per day even on weekends. NEVER leave a message. I will not answer any number that doesn't show a name. If they want to leave a message and tell me who they are, why they are calling, and give me a name of a person I should speak to, I will talk with them. Otherwise no.
i just tried the # thing, the call disconnected immediately, hopefully this works! we'll see in an hour when they usually try to call back
calls about 15 times a day - leaves no message.
What is wrong with these people?!! I admit I was 5 days late on my payment by the time the U.S. mail got it to them, but they called 29 times, not leaving a message one single time. This is a cell phone, so I am not going to answer misc calls, that is why I say leave a message and I"LL CALL YOU BACK! MUSE: Thanks for the tip. I will try the #key. DO NOT GO WITH THIS CREDIT CARD COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!
They have been calling me every hour last 2weeks. I am glad I checked it out on the internet because they have been doing to other people.
Called, claiming I owe on an account I do not have. I tried to call HSBC to report suspicious activity and was told not to worry.
HSBC will not leave a message, however call every few hours- very annoying
They keep on calling and saying that I owe money.
This morning I received my 19th phone call in a 2 week timeframe. I have a log off all the calls & have repeatedly told them they have the wrong person. I have been told on 4 different occasions that I am removed from thier call list, but continue to receive calls. The first time I told them was 11/6, and it's now 11/20. Calls started 11/5 and are frequently prefaced with a recording and being put on hold as soon as I answer. I'm not going to sit on hold and waste my mobile phone minutes for this. Saturday 11/18 the person I talked to yelled at me after I asked for a supervisor, because I explained that I had multiple times been told I was no longer on the list. He said all the managers were in a meeting and no one was available, that it was a Saturday so there was not a supervisor there for me to speak with. I said I was going to file an FCC complaint if I received another call and he raised his voice at me again and told me I was off the list and I just NEEDED TO BE PATIENT because I was in their auto-dialer and there was nothing anyone could do.
Sorry, not good enough. I'm on the do not call list and I'm not even the person you're trying to call. Plus don't yell at me and don't lie to me. This is my mobile phone to boot, so these calls are wasting my minutes, in addition to my time and my money.
It is HSBC - aka First Premier Bank's collection department. Pay your bill if you have one and don't answer the phone.
7 calls asking for wrong person. I've told them they have wrong number and its costing me airtime.
This is the second month in a row HSBC has lost a payment. We have proof of payment via a posted check from the bank. Yet they call constantly looking for payment. I finally plugged the phone into my modem and started using Phone Tray Free to stop the annoyance.
They are calling me too, I told them that I am recording their call's, then they hang up... Piss on em
Payment is scheduled (I've been unemployed and have explained that to them several times), but payment scheduled to be paid - they call at 8:01 a.m. (on Saturday and Sunday morning - like I'm picking up!) and around 11 am to 12 pm...bite me - you'll get your money when my temp job actually pays me!
try the # button.. just hold it down for about 20-30 seconds.. the calls don't come as often so maybe it's working to trick the computer calling into marking it as disconnected. Ahh.. well I can dream eh?
sick of getting calls from this number.......we never answer it, though.
They just started calling about 2 days ago. They call about 4-6 times a day. They never leave a message. THIS IS MY CELL PHONE!!! IT'S NOT EVEN FREE FOR ME!!!!
Calls from this number are harrassing! Sundays at 8:30 a.m.- then all day long an average of once an hour! Picked up once but nobody answered.
Calls often but I never answer knowing they are telemarketers. Just wondering who it was.
Might as well stop calling because they will never get thru. I am as persistant as they are. Good Pit Bull
They called me 6 times yesterday, never leave a message.. Have called 3 times today and it's only 11.. They'll call.. and then hang up.. and then call right back about 15 seconds later.
They call but wont leave a message always say will call back later
They call three to four times a day. Driving me nuts.
They keep calling me. Last month when I answered the phone to "no one there" I started yelling that I was reporting them and it was getting stupid. They go Oh hold on hold on we must have the wrong number. We will remove your number.
Well the same lady (sounded the same at least) called 11/02/06. I said wrong number. They called again 11/03/06, no message left. I called them when I got home from work to tell them to stop calling they had the wrong number. Claimed my number was not in the system. Yet they called again today while I was at work. HELLO JERKS!! Wrong Number!! I can't afford a damn credit card!
I just moved. Have not had time to notify cc's of new address and phone number. They are the only ones who have gotten my new home phone #. It was suppose to be unlisted and non-published.
I am turning this over to my attorney. They are calling several times per day, no message is left and they called today (Sunday). Isn't it illegal to call on Sunday?
If they don't stop calling 3-4 times a day I will be changing my #!!
they called at 12:30 1;00 1;30 in the morning all I got was beeping sounds wish someone would have answered so i could tell them to never call here again
Called several times said I owed money on a credit card
I got online checked my account owed nothing they hung up seems like a scam to me
Call relentlessly. They won't tell me who they are so I won't put them thru. Good Pit Bull.
They call every day at 8:30 a.m. and then several times after that. When I called back to find out who it was, they did not identify themselves, but only asked for my account number. Sounds like scam artist trying to get your personal number and info.I'm going to report them to Someone, Better Business Bureau, or my congressman! When I googled them ,looks like they have a long history of customer scams and negative reviews!!
We receive calls from this number several times per day in our office. They hang up during our greetings every time. We found out where the call center is that these calls come from and paid them a visit. Three officemates spent about three hours there peeing on cars, in wastebaskets, in vending machines, in toilet paper dispensers, in open car windows, under office doors, in the middle of floors-- especially where the sun would shine in and in enclosed entry vestibules... They drank a lot, did a lot of the ol' "valve quick open/ valve quick closed" (a little here, a little there) action and even left two puddles of puked-up lunch in a hallway between a break room and lobby. We all felt a wee bit vindicated after that fun. Uh huh, but the calls persist.
My bill was two days late! when I answered it was a recording asking me to hold. I waited 3 minutes and hung up
Tired of the calls
My zip is 33868 and call all week, Thanks for your time and understand Ed.
I do have an credit card account with Household Bank, but not behind any payment, pay via my Bank of America account. I am tired of receiving call from the 877-801-2499 and have to lisen to a recording or blank line then load buzzing then get cut off. The law should be changed requiring all callers show number and phisical address from call being placed. Plus we should be able to block any number. I also received call with the number as: 000-000-0000, Whats up with this. If some one owes money then let them use the us mail system,Collection courts, etc. It cost me money to stop and return calls when I need the phone for business use. The HSBC was told when the card was issued only mail inquires only. Thanks
VERY persistent indeed!
At least once per hour. They never leave messages.
Keep getting calls from them. They are HSBC that took over the First Premier CC accounts. Most likely they have four or five call centers and their info is screwed up. My CC's with First Priemier and HSBC are current but they keep calling. They do not leave messages so that you can not prove that they keep calling you. They are not allowed to call you on Sunday's, before 8am and after 9pm monday through saturday because they are attempting to collect a debt.
Asked for my address, said they have sent bills for an account I don't have. Said the calls would not stop after I explained I've never had an account with them. Would not accept that they had the wrong person.
Called. Asked for my wife directly by FIRST name only. (They had called me before asking for her by full name.) I she is not here, are you sleeping with her?
They hung up immediatly......
Means you haven't been paying your credit card bills. Duh.
They call saying it is about an important business matter, but do not identify themselves. Calls start at 8:00am until 9:30pm. Leave a message only once and then continue to call w/o leaving a message. Do not return the call if they do not have the guts to identify themselves.
They have called everyday for over 2 weeks now, multiple x per day, incl. Sunday at 8.30am. We never answer; they never leave msgs.
Unknown Name
These folks call on the same day even after I have spoken with them.
Should I file a complaint ?
These people call all hours of the work day, they never leave a message and insit we owe for a card we do not have!
They have called approx 10 times from 5-7 October. I answered once, they said I owed $137 on a credit card I know I do not have. I refused to give personal information. They even tried to "confirm" the last 4 numbers of my SSN as "1642". I will be calling the police if they call again while I am home.
this number shows up on my caller id every day about 5-7 times a day for the last 3 weeks. they are very persistant!
Direct Merchants Bank also known as HSBC bank.Very
persistent
Don't call back from you own number. If you do your number will be added to a computer calling list.
Go to a pay phone. No coins needed to call 877 numbers. In fact, go to every pay phone in the city and call them and leave the phone off the hook.
I Called back. Credit card service. They want you to key in your card number. They keep you on hold for a very long time. Always hang up.I don't have time to wait that long.
Called, havent been home and no messages ever left.
