That's a mold-breaker. Great tihnking!
I guess that to get the loans from banks you must have a great reason. However, one time I've received a consolidation loan, just because I was willing to buy a bike.
I guess that to receive the loan from creditors you ought to have a firm reason. However, one time I have got a small business loan, just because I was willing to buy a car.

Hey everyone!
Been lurking here for a while and finally decided to register and post a message of my own.
As for who I am, my name is Jane and I really enjoy being on my computer, my cats, and to watch gossip girl episodes (this is my favorite site to do it at).
So thanks for the great forum and I'll see you all around!
Greetings new friends
I just joined this forum and see that it is very active and full of people with great ideas. It seems like you all support each other well here too. I am looking for advice as I got laid off from my job 3 months ago and it looks like the mortgage company is going to foreclose on my home.
Do any of you have any advice or are you in a similar position?
I know this is a bit off topic for this forum so maybe you can please join me at LayOffRant.com and we can talk through what's going on with me and the economy in the USA.

I just became a part of this forum here after being a lurker for some time and I would love to be a part of it. Seriously, love the contribution of the community.
I thought I'd do some contributing of my own and pimp a cool weight loss site that offers some pretty good weight loss articles and product reviews called FastWeightloseToday.com
The site offers a lot of FREE informative ideas and articles - I know there is a million of them out there but whoever is running it seems to be doing a decent job so I thought I'd show some love and spread the word.

Hi everybody - Great forum! demya.com
We all know that Forex is the biggest market in the world and that we gain access to it through our chosen Forex Broker. I wanted to find the best Forex Broker for whatever trading system I am using at any given time. Sometimes I’m scalping, sometimes I’m in the Carry Trade.
If you are in search of a new broker I highly recommend you take a look at the Forex Broker Guide CompareForexBrokers.com . They compare and review the most comprehensive list of online Forex Brokers I have ever seen.
I was looking for a swap free broker – I found around 30 through their search function and comparison tables. There are around 20 comparison categories comparing everything from leverage and spreads to dealing desk and regulation. Also they have a really nice list of Brokers who offer MetaTrader 4.
I had been looking for a Forex site like this for ages! Hope it helps you too.
By the way it is free.
Please let me know what trading systems go best with which brokers?

Called during my class at college after I registered a domain, I ignored it, hopefully they never call back, I'm ahppy with my host.
called my phone 04.01.08 did not answer, they left no message.
Godaddy is obviously to blame for this crap..
trying to scam me into paying for privacy?? LOSERS!!
Godaddy and Aplus
got a call from them 3-14-08 around 3:45pmEST
i couldn't pick up but they didn't leave a message...just signed up for a second domain about a week ago but haven't received any calls previously...I'll just know to ignore the number next time.
Called my cell phone on March 7,2008 @ 3.12PM EST. I am already registered with godaddy.com... so it's not just new registrations. See other comments regarding godaddy...
I got a call from them while I was sleeping on Feb 5, 2008 at 11am. I bought a couple of domains from godaddy.com last week.
Is This Happening To You?
On behalf of those who have previously retained us, the law firm of Fineberg Gresham is investigating complaints from consumers being harassed with calls and text messages to their cell phones. If you have received calls or text messages to your cell phone by telemarketers or others who did not have your express permission to contact your cell phone or wish to report any complaints regarding this practice, stoptelemarketingabuse.com. (this will send an email to our office). We are gathering factual information to determine the nature, extent and scope of the problem for those who have retained our law firm. All messages will be held confidential.
What Can You Do to Assist in Our Investigation?
If you have been the victim of this telemarketing abuse, preserve all facts and evidence of the unwanted calls or texts. Save the message. Most voicemail services only store messages for a few days or weeks. As a result, record the message in another place so that you have it. Save your phone bills which show when the call or text was received. Keep all evidence of the harassing calls or text messages.
Problem: Telemarketing Abuse
Consumers pay for calls and text messages received on their cell phones. More than ever, consumers are being harassed on their cell phones by telemarketers and businesses trying to sell goods or services. Unfortunately, these calls and text messages result in charges or a reduction in the consumers
I just recieved a call from this number on my cell phone. They were trying to sell me hosting services. I also registered a domain with Godaddy.com and I checked the privacy box. They should have never called me. I don't need any of this company services because I own a interenet hosting company.
Called me about my webpage asking about marketing tools to bring visitors to my site. Declined offer and hung up.
webdesinger company called after i registered in scriptlance.com
grrrrrr
I've gotten a couple calls from this number, also after registering with GoDaddy. I didn't make the connection until seeing this site. Furthermore: I called GoDaddy to reduce to a lower level of service, and they bumped my fee UP $5.00. Seems like a pretty flakey company to me...
they just called me too, I googled and found this page without picking up. I figured it was spam. =_=
877-577-0877 called my cell phone on Dec 19 2007. Looks like they got it fro whois on one of my sites and where offering website design service. The lady was polite to say 'thank you' when I told them I was not interested.
GoDaddy sucks!! don't register with those fools, they don't care about you at all... all they want is more money, jerks!!
rude guy called cell phone asking if I was owner of "the website" I said "what website" - he said "the business website" and wouldnt easily tell me who he was or what he wanted. now that I know who they are below....I will contact BBB of thier city and report thier rudeness and confrontational attitude.
they are jerks
Registered with godaddy a week ago and got call from them today.
Endless calls from godaddy since I registered a domain name. I have internet access to a list of all numbers called on my account (in or out). Some show as Godaddy but this one is blank. However, I suspect it is Godaddy!
I just had the number call me a few minutes ago, I missed the call due to my cellphone being in another room..Does anyone know who it leads to?
It called from this number (877) 577-0877, it's a APlus.net web design and hosting company, somehow they obtain my contact info through Rackspace (hosting provider; suspect it's an insider job that sell or leack the customer information out to APlus.net for a small fee).
They called me on Nov 28, 2007. I didn't answer, but I don't give out my number randomly. I did register a GoDaddly.com domain recently and it seems that they sold my information. Seeing that I host with them and pay for it I would think they would have the decency not to sell my info, which I am always very cautious about. I must say I am very disappointed.
Just received a call on me cell phone. When I answered it there was a delay which led me to believe it was an autodial program, so I hung up.
Called my cell phone on Nov 27, 2007 at 3:38 p.m. Pacific time zone
Simply asked if I was in charge of the website at the place of business... I told him this was a personal cell phone number, he apologized and we hung up.
I got a call on my cell around 3:30PM (MST). I tried to answer, but I got disconnected right away.
I have several domains through godaddy.com.
Tuesday, November 27, 2007: 877-577-0877 called, didn't answer. Currently hosting 3 domains with GoDaddy.
Do these people call regularly and consistently, or will this be a one time occurance?
8775770877 called my cell phone on 11/27/2007 at3:39 pm. I didnt answer the phone, but after reading the posts below I figure it was about the account I opened with GODaddy last week. Very annoying.
They called within a week of registering my domain with godaddy.com. When I answered they did not answer so I hung up on them
no name no connection
We have 3 sites with godaddy.com, paid the extra money for a private registration for two of them. Never had phone calls. The last site we purchased, we didn't pay for the private registration. So all the information we have on that domain is now up for the whole world to see.
877-577-0877 called my cell phone on 14 nov 2007 at 1158am most likely because i registered a domain.
I was in class when this number called my phone. I didn't answer, and no message was left. I have two domains with GoDaddy.
Getting calls from this number but not answering as I know all my business associates. Can a formal complaint be made?
Got a call this morning while in class. Calling a 16-year-old's cell to advertise webhosting... That's classy.
Godaddy needs to get their shit together.
Oh, I recently went with GoDaddy, too!
My husband has several sites registered with GoDaddy, and has for a few years, but this is the first call we've gotten. My husband wasn't home when they called, they just asked if "the guy who does the websites" was there. I said he wasn't available and could I take a message, but they said they'd try back later. Guess we won't answer!
Whoever it is just hung up after I answered the phone. I have an account with aplus.net also(at least for now)
10/22/07 12:21pm.
Rang and I answered. Instead of someone being on the other line, it started ringing like I was calling someone. I hung up quick 'cause no telling if I might be connected with China or something. Who knows where that call was going to.
I got a call from this company 3 days ago and 2 months ago I also bought godaddy.com domain.
I didn't answer, nor did they leave a VM.
Just got a call from this number. I ignored it and then decided to google it. I did buy a godaddy domain last month.
They called me and I didnt pick up. i have two domains name registered with godaddy.
Received a call from this number on my cell 10/10/07 @ 10:46am. I don't know why they called because no one was on the other end of the line when I answered.
They're still at it as of 10-08-2007. I missed the call to my cell phone, but looked it up on the web when I noticed and found this site. This happened about a week after registering a new domain (at a registrar other than godaddy). I like another poster's idea of asking them for an address to send a bill for cell minutes to and will likely do that if they call again.
Seems to be a problem with GoDaddy and their breach of information. It is hard, but not unimaginable to believe that they would sell their member info. I guess you have to pay their data extortion fee to protect your data.
This number has called me twice and I haven't answered. They haven't left any messages. I recently just bought a new domain at godaddy and from the looks of it they sold my mobile number.
Update on previous post. Be aware they will call not only toll lines but they will call toll free lines. This irritates me because I have to pay everytime they call me to try and sell me something.
It is APlus.net. I think they get numbers off of your web site and not just off the whois from your domain. All of my domains are public to create a more formal business presence but I am sure they got our business phone off our site since they called our Customer Service department and not our Technical/Domain department.
asked to talk to the person in charge of my website. (confused) i said "which website?" and he hung up... (confused)
Stupid Sales Pitch For Hosting Really Breaking a lot of rules
Called my cell just now. Aplus.net hosting.
Received a call asking about who takes care of my web site. I told them if they need info check our website then hung up.
got a call tuesday evening 9/25/07 5:30pm sharp.
i called back 4 minutes later and asked who it was that called me and a guy goes "uhh.. not sure sir, we have about 400 people working in this company".. and he did mention it was some webhost somethn etc.. i was thinkin its either homestead.com or yahoo.com.
im sure this is what we get for not paying extra for that whois b.s.
Called my cell phone to confirm an order for a business website. This is rediculous, I did have a godaddy.com account over three years ago. I don't want have anything to do with this company for selling my cell phone numer to some one else.
Since Go daddy sells web hosting services (and very good ones, IMHO), I sincerely doubt that they'd sell information to another web hosting service provider, especially one as cheezy as this one.
Have received repeated calls from this number and am not even with GoDaddy.com. Don't understand why they are even trying.
Constantly calling my business # 2x's a week. Finally asked them for their fax # so I could send them a cease all communications letter. When I transfer my business lines to my cell phone, I don't like getting calls like this that use up my minutes. They wanted me to use their service and when I received an email from them and did a check on their IP address, it came back from INDIA, GO FIGURE!!!
Registered a free domain through Microsoft Office Live 3-4 days ago and just got a call from this number this morning. I did not pick up, sounds safe to assume they are just cold calling everyone that has public WHOIS records.
877-577-0877 called my home phone after my husband registered on-line for a new domain name with godaddy.com Still in the process of getting the domain up and running...geez how would I now if Im happy with godaddy.com yet? And what's more, its none of your suckin business APlus.net! You energy vampires! Suck off!
They called me and sent me $8000. No, spam call from godaddy as I registered with them a few days ago.
I don't answer 877 numbers anyway.
woke me up at 8:30am - I sleep in. I read these postings - I have a GoDaddy domain as well...
I'm a GoDaddy.com customer with 3 sites. I didn't answer the call, so I don't know what they wanted.
I just got a call from 877-577-0877 on my business cell phone. I answered it, and after about 5 seconds, I heard a dial tone. So I called the number back, and the message said they were Aplus.net. Annoying!!
Just called me twice, I registered a domain with godaddy.com 6 days ago.
So pissed off, how are they finding people so quick after they register if they don't have a insder at godaddy.com???
called me twice already after i registered with godaddy
this bs number called me during my classes
they called me and i didnt pick up. i have one domain name registered with godaddy.
how annoying ...
I thought it was kind of strange that someone called me and asked for the person in charge of the website. What a scumbag this guy is.
registered domain with godaddy.com less than a week ago. received one call today from 877-577-0877. picked up the phone but noone was there. changed whois information after finding this site through google search
Called me 3 times today, didn't pick up. Researche it on Google and found hundreds of complaints, and realize now it was from recently registering a domain name from Godaddy.com
Aug 28, 2007. 5:40PM CDT Unsolicited call on my cell phone. Hung up right after I picked up.
My cellphone rang and it was this 877-577-0877 number. I did not enjoy this intrusion, because it was a solicitation and they are using my cellphone minutes. They are irritating people.
aplus.net... I don't evn know why they would be calling me.
Just registered last week through Microsoft for a domain and just got a call from this number about 5 minutes ago. I googled it and got to this site.
I received 3 calls from them none of which picked up I use a grandcentral.com number for domain names so they never made it through that system. I did recent purchase things from GoDaddy Hosting.
I have a free AIM Digits account (free phone number) that I use to register domains. I would recommend this to anyone who does the same. AIMDigits.com.
Called me on Aug. 21 2007
I didn't answer but immediately googled them and found this site.
Pay the extra cash and get the GoDaddy Privacy registration! It is worth it.
I just got a call.
I registered on godaddy.com
They just tried to call my cell today. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. I never pick up when i see a 1877 number. Did a search right after and found this site.
Called my cell phone. No message left.
3 calls today. didn't answer first 2, which were at 8:45 am PST, and 1:04 pm. Then they called again at 1:54 pm. i had found this thread before the 3rd call, so picked up.
i asked them what address i can send the bill to to charge them for my cell minutes. must definitely be godaddy. i have many domains from them, but previously used the private reg option until my last purchase last week. guess i'll use private reg from now on.
Third call from them: only first call did they actually answer.. the last two calls were hang ups.
Lady called asking who rund the website.. I asked which website, and she named one of my husbands. She was VERY rude about it. I told her it was my husbands website and asked if there was anything i could help her with. Seh hung up on me. She was EXTREMELY rude
Who in hell are these guys...they just called me and asked a few questions but then I got suspicious and hung up.
They called my cell Aug. 6 1:25pm 2007.
They called me 5 times today but I didn't pick up. I don't pick up meaningless numbers. July 26 2007
Yeah, I got a call from them too. It's my best missed call all week.
Didn't pick up the phone, but I too have sites registered at godaddy.com. Hmmm wondering if that was a mistake now. Guess we should start checking out their fine print.
These people have been calling my cell phone as well... but it is not GoDaddy.com's fault... when you look up a whois web address such as "whois YOURDOMAINNAME.com" on google you are able to find out all of the persons registration information including your number you registered with. I just though you should know... no need to bash godaddy.com. because I dont even have a domain through godaddy.com mine is through someone else.
called my cell with difficult voice and hangup.
Called me twice within 2 hours to get me to host. Called back after looking up who they were and requested that they remove me from their calling list. We'll see...
I got a call after register with go daddy!
Just got called on cell phone. I didn't answer because no one I know with this number has a toll-free #. I got out of all my domains over a year ago, so they must be running off an old list.
Glad I didn't answer out of number appearing to be of a suspicious nature, such as telemarketer!
I just also registered with godaddy.com and turns out they are selling your phone numbers.
just got a call from 877-577-0877 on my cell - the connection was noisey - and the gentlman didnt respond to my "hello" for about 10 seconds. As I was about to hang up, he asked for..well, it wasn't my name. So, i asked to be taken off the list NOW. hope he did.
calling repeatedly...I linked it from aplus.net to sedo.com which is a negotiator for domain sales...this could be a tricky tactic for advertising domain sales...although immoral I give em credit for creativity.
keep getting calls after registering with godaddy.comd
I have no idea who they are, but they called me.
just got a call from them
fuckers called my number trying to sell shit after i bought a name on godaddy.
Here is some important information. #1 - If they are calling your Mobile Phone with an automated dialer, you don't have to be on the Do Not Call registry.
#2 - If you want to let APLUS.NET how you feel about their practices, Ken Thompson is the Call Center Director and can be reached at: 913-890-7700 Ext. 6980 but you probably won't get any further than I did, so do the same thing I did:
Call the FCC (1-888-225-5322) and file a complaint. Mr. Thompson told me that they had no way of knowing it was a mobile number, but the FCC Said otherwise and forwarded a detailed version of my complaint to the Enforcement division, so I urge anyone getting calls from APLUS.NET on their cell phone to call and file a complaint. Mr. Thompson also admitted to getting contact information from WHOIS Listings, which is a violation of the Terms and Service for many WHOIS Services. Mr. Thompson refused to tell me which services they use and called it irrelevant, but here is the TERMS OF USE from Whois.org:
"TERMS OF USE: You are not authorized to access or query our Whois
database through the use of electronic processes that are high-volume and
automated except as reasonably necessary to register domain names or
modify existing registrations;"
I want to reiterate that this is not GoDaddy's fault. Also, by federal FCC Regulations it is illegal for APlus.NET to be calling your cell phone with automated dialers. I urge EVERYONE receiving these calls to report to the FCC. The more people that report, the more likely it is the appropriate action will be taken and they will be held accountable. I am reposting my original message below:
Aplus.net
Since I live in Japan, they called me at 3AM my time. I called them back and asked WTF and they told me they would remove my number. I need to go with the privacy option on all my domians.
I just have registered a domain name with
GoDaddy. They called me and hinted regarding some privacy options. I guess that's what they do if you did not pay for privacy straight up? Just a guess.
Called my cell twice. On picking up, I received no response. I registered a domain with microsoft small business.
Called my cell phone in June 2007. Connection was bad; couldn't understand the caller either. Asked for identification which I received. Sales calls are illegal in my state so I reported this number.
877-577-0877 I had the same thing at 3:12 am 31 minutes after my registration email arrived. These people are unreal! Phone spamming at 3:00 am whats next advertising on my toilet paper.
Called my cell phone @ 12:26pm on June, 27 2007.
I didn't pick up and they left no message. I did just register a domain name with godaddy.com almost a week ago like some of the others on this list.
called me today(6/25/07 5:16pm), the 3rd time in two month.
877-577-0877 called my cell phone on June 22, 2007 at 10:43 am
People who are complaining about GoDaddy are ignorant. Clearly they just picked up our numbers from the whois information of newly registered domains.
But yea, what a bunch of assholes. They called my cell like 5 times while I didn't happen to have it with me today.
877-577-0877 just called my cell. I registered a domain with 1&1 about 2 months ago.
We buy domain names from Go Daddy and hosting services from Bizland.com and Tripod.com and Aplus.net. Our conclusion is that Bizland is best, but Aplus still calls trying to sell us hosting not comprehending we have been a customer of theirs for years (we are phasing them out and going with Bizland only).
Didn't answer the call, but called the number back for A+ Webhosting.
Called My Cell, answered it and nobody was there. Alot of people
877 577 0877 called me on June 20, 07 at 10:28 A.M.
when I answered i got dead air.
I didn't answer.
what 877-577-0877
i got a call from this number just now. the number's not in my phone book so i didn't pick up. they didn't leave a message though. i googled the # and found this site. i too have a domain registered at godaddy. are they selling my info then? sheesh! am so reporting this to fcc.
I also received a call on my cell (Canada) from this number. Looked like someone trying to sell me something so I didn't answer - no VM message left. Lie others, I register domains with godaddy.
GoDaddy has nothing to do with these phone calls, other than the public registration that you have chosen for your domain names. Why would GoDaddy sell your phone number to a hosting company when they sell hosting themselves? Doesn't make much sense. Get privacy on your domain names!
got call a week after register @ godaddy.com
Haven't had a website with them in over a year now. They called, I said "Hello?", and I think I heard someone else mutter "Hello?" on the other end, but it was muffled. They hung up after 5 seconds.
DON'T BLAME YOUR REGISTRAR. That's just ignorant. If you don't hide your info through a privacy feature or obfuscation service, then your phone number is readily available via WHOIS as part of your domain info. Check it for yourself.
Apparently these guys call anyone and everyone. The president of a company for which I am a consultant got a call on his cell phone from these guys asking for me. I do the IT work; he does not. They were insistent. The pres. responded, "No one here by that name."
called my me, it seems godaddy is to blame. I have a domain with them.
I registered a few domains with GoDaddy last week.
Called today on home office # which is the # is gave for a few domains that I own with a couple different providers. No message left.
If Godaddy calls you, they'll say, "hi this is ___ from Godaddy", so no, this is not Godaddy Calling
NEWS FLASH TO ALL YOU SAVVY WHINY BABIES: There is something called a WhoiIs record that comes naturally with every domain... your PERSONAL info goes live on these whoIS databases when you buy a domain, this is not Godaddy's idea. Anyone can can get this information, it is not up to Godaddy to hide this information, (although GD gives this option if you want to pay for it) this is YOUR responsibility!
Registered with godaddy 2 weeks ago just got a call from them.
Yes. Got this call after changing my domain name with Godaddy.com
Got a call today at 11:07 AM, but I didn't answer. They did not leave a message.
You can turn them in to the FCC. I think they get fined $5,000.00 for each violation. You can supply up to 4 dates and times that they contacted you.
fcc.gov
BTW, I am not irritated with GoDaddy about this at all. They are getting the info from whois, not GoDaddy. I have been using go daddy for years and am very pleased with them
I registered with godaddy a month ago and have been called two times so far.
I just called them back and threatened to sue them in court if they call again. They claim that my number was removed.
Yep, got calls from these buttwipes today. Didn't answer. I also have domains with GoDaddy. Nice, huh?
They've already called me 2X. And the ridiculous thing is that they hang up as soon as I answer. I also recently regestered with godaddy.com.
Damn crap marketers. I use godaddy for my domains. Really annoying phone calls. At least my PBX sortof screened the call before it was forwarded to my cell. Wow. They just take the phone #'s from the whois files? not cool.
When my cell phone first rang, I immediately went online and skimmed through this page and decided to let it ring. I do have GoDaddy hosting TRACKjams.com. Oh also, I do remember a couple months or so ago, A Plus Hosting called me but I immediately said not interested.
They called me today too and I also have domains with godaddy
Yeah some web host, second time they've called, even though I tell them I'm content with mine...
called; don't have an account with them
I just got a call from (877)577-9417.
I registered a new name through GODADDY.com today a couple of hours ago. I have other names registered with them and this is the first time I got a call like this.
I PAID EXTRA FOR THE PRIVACY OPTION and still got a phone call....so apparently that doesn't help. I am very irritated with godaddy for this. I keep my phone number private for a reason.
They called me again! this time from a different number and it's the same Aplus people trying to offer my hosting.
858 731 11667
I got a phone call today from these people after I registered from Godaddy.com a week ago. I changed the number to some random number which turns out to be someones fax machine. Good Riddance.
Called and rang only twice before they hung up. I didn't answer. Don't know who it is. No message at all.
At least the 5th time they've called.
I just noticed Dustin posted the complaint filing info I linked to... so you can just scroll up and look at his post from 4-12.
Just got a call from this number today. If you check out this link:
cryptonomicon.net
you'll see (in the comments) that someone contacted A-Plus.net corporate offices, and they admitted to harvesting phone numbers from the WhoIs database.
As a long-time, happy GoDaddy customer I just wanted to point that out. GoDaddy is (most likely) NOT selling your numbers. Any info you provide for the domain registration is publicly viewable in the WhoIs and you are told this when you register.
Please put the blame where it belongs, on A-Plus.net (a GoDaddy competitor nonetheless), and file your complaints accordingly (good info on filing complaints at the link above, too.)
they call me 04/24/07 around 12 pm......
This number called my cell phone today. I didn't answer, they didn't leave a message. I think they have called me before.
It seems to me that GoDaddy.com sells our phone numbers. Great...
877-577-0877 called my cell phone on April 24th, 2007 at 5:59pm. No msg left.
8775770877 call my cell phone number on April 24th, 2007, at 4:59pm
I too register a web address with GoDaddy. I called both GoDaddy, and A.plus.net & both DENIED selling my phone info. I would suggest NOT going with go daddy if you want your privacy kept. It's too much of a coincidence. I do not recieve junk calls often, so this was easy to trace back to the source.
Called my cell # as well.
877-577-0877 called my cell phone on April 20, 2007 at 10:50 am
877-577-0877 called my cell phone today, I recognized it as a commercial call due to its toll free area code, so i ignored it.
Scroll up a bit and read my previous post. Yes it is ILLEGAL for them to call your cell phone. I provided all of the necessary information to contact the FCC. :) Happy hunting!
They just called my cell phone also. I terminated my hosting plan with them and now they are still calling me for no apparent reason. By the way Go Daddy is worse than Aplus, their support is horrible. APlus is just not the best deal, although they actually have trained staff unlike Go Daddy.
Called my cell phone and soliciting me to design a website using their help. Isn't it legal to call cell phones for solicitation. I think they got my number from Whois database after i registered a website.
called and hung up when i answered. No idea how they got my number.
Called my cell about 9:24, but I don't answer "877" numbers I don't know. Looked it up and found this site. Recently renewed a domain at godaddy.com as well.
Be careful when jumping to conclusions about GoDaddy. GoDaddy specifically states that it will not sell / give out your information. APLUS.NET admitted to harvesting numbers from Whois information, which GoDaddy cannot control, but read my prior post for information about Whois database terms and service.
just called me this morning around 10:20 and im registered with godaddy too. maybe their partners but godaddy just lost my business too by doing this
Just received a call from them no more than ive minutes ago. Didn't recognize the number, so i let it roll to voice mail. The only way they could have got the number was from WHOIS, so they're in voliation of federal law.
877-577-0877 called after i registered for godaddy.com option as well. the 2nd of these un-solicited calls. very unprofessional and unethical for godaddy.com to sell info and a rep from the site called to suggest i purchase the privacy option. very infuriating!
"TERMS OF USE: You are not authorized to access or query our Whois
database through the use of electronic processes that are high-volume and
automated except as reasonably necessary to register domain names or
modify existing registrations;"
got the hangup call, and have a few domains registered on godaddy... they should be flogged for giving my cell numbero out
NO CALLER ID
DIDN'T PICK UP
This number called me at 4/09/2007 on my cell phone. Who are they??
They call my cell too -- I've registered a few domains with different registrars lately.
877-577-0877 called my cell phone on April 9th 2007
Just got a call 5 min ago from 877-577-0877
I dont answer ANY calls on my cell from toll free numbers. Period. General rule is: If it's really important, unknown callers will leave a message. Just retrieve the msg using a landline.
Just found this site after doing a Yahoo search on the number 877-577-0877. I too got a call on my cell, they left no message. And as almost everyone has said here, I too have many websites hosted by GoDaddy. Obviously some connection, not sure what though (if they are selling non-private information or what). I have been with GoDaddy for quite some time... and love their service. No complaints.
just got a call from them..this blogger offers more info about how to file an official complaint:
cryptonomicon.net
Same thing. Can't we get some Do-Not-Call registry action against these guys?
i simply let them know that im hosted for free and she said thank you for your time...
got a call on my cell. i have go-daddy sites as well
Called my cell and left a pre-recorded message for me to return call. A few weeks ago, I registered a domain with GoDaddy.com. I am guess they sold my name/number. Hmm. I will not be recommending Godaddy.com to anyone from this point on.
I'm not sure what I signed up for where they would get my number, but I had a voicemail telling me about their internet domain name.. so annoying!
Got a call asking for the companies website manager. Just registered on GoDaddy!
I got a call today a little after 1pm. I didn't answer but they didn't leave a message. I'm not sure how they got my current cell number. I registered all my domains and hosting with my old number (got it changed about 8 months ago but never updated my information. I also use a number that I currently don't use either (I still have the number activated). Strange they didn't call that. I am tempted to pick up if the call back and saying "fuck off" in the phone and hanging up.
Got a call from this numer and said they want to talk to the admin of my company web site. When i asked who are you, just disconnected.
The person named Bob called me at 4:35 p.m. EST on 03/07/2007
They just called my home phone but when i answered, no one was there. I was confused and decided to google the number. Im glad i found this site, its really interesting. This company sounds like crap.
Just got a call from this number. I didn't answer since I'm at work, but I did look up the number. You might find this post interesting: cryptonomicon.net
If they get you on your cell phone like they did me, tell them they are violating FCC/Federal Law and you are going to file a complaint.
Second time the called me. They claimed that a guy named joe mastereilny from toronto has my number on file. I told them I had no clue who he is, and the guy kept asking me to tell joe that he called. I flipped out, saying I had no clue who he was. This guy was a weirdo. He hung up on me.
This company's messed up. I'm calling back and speaking with a supervisor.
I didn't answer, thanks for all the info on who this is!
got a call from this number on my mobile, and like others, had recently registered a new domain on Godaddy. i do not answer calls from numbers unfamiliar. i did file a copmlaint with the FCC. Just send an email to fccinfo@fcc.gov and tell them all about it. you do not have to be on the do not call registry to file a complaint. it is illegal for APLUS.NET to use an automatic dialer to spam telephone numbers, period. so GO GET'M!
got a call from 877-577-0877 after registering some domains thru GoDaddy. Thanks tools.
Called my cellphone Feb 15 2007, ~11 AM. Didn't leave a message. This too is right after I registered a domain name from godaddy
These people called one of my posted numbers. I know where they got my number because I only use it to register my websites with. I have no dealings with this company nor would I want to.
Called my residence on February 13th. The call showed up as a Tollfree Number
Got a call from this # after regisatering with godaddy
rang my mobile on 12 feb around noon. The number was not in my contact list. engaged with a client I let it go to VM. No message. I wil add the to the shite list
Well here's an oddity, I just got a call from this number (I too have sites hosted with GoDaddy) and the salesman asked to speak with "The person in charge of the website". Here's where it gets weird, When I asked "Which website?" he responded with the name of the website I work for, but do not own. Very strange!
Got this caller too. It is on my voicemail and I couldn't hear what the recorded sales pitch was saying in the beginning. I guess the part that gives their name was cut off. So I searched on net and found number here. I am PISSED AT GO DADDY FOR LETTING THIS HAPPEN! BASTARDS. I'm changing hosts, but NOT to iplus :(
8775770877 called my business line left no message. This is second time. I do have domains at godaddy.
Likewise, I just registered a godaddy domain name.
i had a domain name in the past. they are using domain registration info to find numbers to VOICESPAM and troll for business.
here is a good link for info on these guys:
cryptonomicon.net
I got a call from this company, aplus.net, and some weird dude >"did you register a website recently"
me>"uhh.. like 2 months ago"
>"Okay, who's designing this website"
>"uh... I am."
>"Who's hosting this website?"
>"godaddy"
>"how much do they charge?"
>"like $2 or $3 / month"
(aplus.net charges like $6)
>"Are you satisfied with their services"
>"Yes, i love godaddy, they're an amazing company"
>"Okay, you're all set"
haha.
Recieved call, no said anything. I don't know if the fact that I regirstered a domain name recently with GoDaddy has anything to do with it.
I knew that GoDady are assholes. Not only are they selling your personal info, but also scamming you with ridiculous servises. When you look for a domain name on there web site, if the name is taken you will see a message "Find out how to get this name" Than they will set you back with 50 bucks in exchange to a computer generated estimate that the domain name you are looking for would cost $3000-9000 and how many letters and words the name contains.
I went to APlus.net and complimented them on their failing calling campaign! I may have done business with them had one of there reps not snipped at me and then hung up on me!
PS: she told me she wasn't trying to sell me anything - lol - whatever!)
a plus calls, i ask if it was a sales call, the bitch says,no, this is not a sales call and hung up.
called my cellphone when i was in shcool on 2-1-07 at 2:22pm, talking about some web traffic. who are they??
Called my cell just a bit ago...I registered several domains not long ago with GoDaddy as well. I don't answer unrecognized numbers, so didn't talk to anyone
They contacted me on my cell phone and just rang and hung up. Waist of time and money.
877-577-0877 called my cell at on jan 24 and asked about my godaddy account...I believe this is the 3rd time
call my cell , just recently update some domain names on godaddy.com
Sorry meant have domains with godaddy...
Called my cell phone at 1:27PM while I am at work, but didn't pick up. These guys have called me at least 3 times now. I wish they would stop.
Called my business line, left no message. I do host with go daddy but no renewals in last two months.
8775770877 called my cell on January 23, 12:41PM asking about web traffic. After I express my confusing, they hang up without saying things.
Got a call from them too. (2007-01-19 09:24) I didn't answer, no message. I recently register my domain on godaddy.com too.
Called me @ 5:12pm on Jan 18, 2007. I didn't answer, just decided to Google it, and it brought me here.
called on Jan 17, 2007.
Didnt say nothing at all
I said several times Hello
and then one guy asked he wants to talk me he said my newly registered domain name email address.
Received a call from this number 877-577-0877 and I answered it as my cell is used in my daily business and I get call from all around the globe from people staying here in the winter homes. But this call was for increasing traffic to my web site and I asked which one and they could not identify any one of the 6 sites I have running. And I am listed of the federal government do not call list. Wasting my time and my resources.
good link,
cryptonomicon.net
I happen to have Vonage phone service - so it keeps track of when the calls came in. I got a phone call on 1/9/07 - they didn't leave a message. On 1/12/07 - they called twice...and they left a message...if you could call it that! "If you are interested in more information...please call.."
Also a recent Godaddy customer for domain name and hosting. Didn't pick up the phone just hung up on them. Then did a search and found this website. great minds think alike!
i rcvd a call from 877 577 0877, i have no idea who these people are, but curiousity led me to google the number. this is why i dont answer when people call me.
received a call to my mobile number just now. I bought a godaddy domain yesterday. I'd bought dozens from them in the past but this is the first time I'd been called. Simply TERRIBLE.
Addendum:
I should have read ALL the posts. As Geoff said, Aplus looks at the domain registration records and gets your number there. Perhaps godaddy has some agreement with them and makes it convenient for them to browse these records. Apologies to any registrar execs whose feelings i might have hurt.
I purchased a domain name from godaddy.com about a month ago. I picked up when they phoned but no one answered. Thank you for selling my cell number godaddy. I'll take my business elsewhere next time.
Have been registered with GoDaddy since August 2006. This is the 1st call i've gotten from this number.
Just called at 10:44 - Aplus.net
877-577-0877 called my cell on 1/8/2007 at 11:45am PST
Just called my cellphone
Jan 8, 2007 2:08pm EST
Didn't answer, didn't leave a message. I registered a domain with MS new service about a month ago and used this number as my contact.
By reading the comments, the company trolls new domain registrations and calls the technical contact on the Whois record. If you use your cell phone as your tech-contact number, they'll call you to sell hosting services.
Called my cell on Jan 4. Connection was terrible (Cingular, BTW) and could not start a conversation. Ended up playing a recorded sales pitch.
Just got the call on my cell. I too own a few URLs and since I did not recognize the number, I did not answer. Just check the web and saw this site. Damn, these people are sneaky...
Called my cell on 2007-01-03 14:03:00. No one there when I picked up. I do have sites registered with GoDaddy.
Called my cell Jan 2 11:44 A.M. No message.
Called my business line before normal working hours. I didn't pick up, did a search on the number, and found several blog posts/message boards complaining about this number. It's aplus.net, a webhosting company with a very poor track record (I used to be an unsatisfied customer, too), and they're engaging in cold-calling people for business. LAME.
Called my cell and I didn't answer. The only calls I get on this phone are family members and people trying to sell me services related to the domain names I have registered. When I saw the 877 number I figured that is what it was. I was right.
877-577-0877 called my cell phone on Dec 21, 2006 at 2:16 pm It's called Aplus Hosting. I own alot of domains and i'm happy with my current host. I called them and asked them to remove my number permanently from their database. I spoke to a guy named Larry. I hate this crap! The call just came up as the phone number. When i received the call i got no response from the caller, only a dial tone after a few seconds.
I got a call from this company today on my cell phone, and I live in Canada. This is ridiculous. I recently registered a domain with GoDaddy.com and I would have thought they'd have more decency than to sell my mobile number.
Got a call after I registered on godaddy.com. After that I went with the privacy option.
Called my cell within an hour of registering a new domain name. The kicker is I didnt register it with them at all, they called me to try to get me to host my new domain with them. They are an awful company despite the cell phone spamming. I would never go with them, anyway.
877-577-0877 called my cell phone on Nov 21, 2006 at 12:58 pm
