Is anyone sure this is really Wells Fargo or is it a scammer?

they called but i never picked up. no voicemail

I get calls from this number and a 503 number once an hour EVERY DAY from ridiculously early in the morning into the evening. Whenever I answer, nobody says anything. I have an account with Wells Fargo and I did overdraft my account but I can't see why they would call me to shake me down and SAY NOTHING. It's not as if I'm avoiding them, THEY DON'T TALK. Now I'm on the verge of closing my account because I think it's safe to assume that any company that will call you several times daily, never speak when you answer, never leave messages, and never answer *their* line is involved in some shady business practices that will probably end up costing me money.

Blocked.. My Telephone will NEVER ring again when they call.

Also call under 503-605-8179. Hung up on both times I answered. They call on Sundays, and when you try to call them back, you get a message that states "Our office is closed..."

I believe WFB outsources the info of those that overdraft to some company that gets commission based upon sign-ups for OD protection.

This number started calling me a couple of days ago. And, yeah, I answer, and they just hang up without a word.

I'm gonna call Wells Fargo and let them have it.

Just got a new Sprint PCS phone a few days ago. Couple days ago, it started getting calls from this number, every hour to a few hours.

When I answered it, some guy asked for Charles. I told him I just got the phone. he then asks who I am, I told him he's got the wrong # and he just hung up.

I called back, asked to speak to supervisor, told was unavailable.

Both persons I've dealt with were rude.

This number calls me at least 12 times a day. I'm at the point where I pick up the phone and hang up without saying hello. The number also calls all day Saturday and Sunday, on the average of every 45 minutes. This is true harrassment.

We have been getting 3 to 4 calls a day from this number on our work phone. We have not told Wells Fargo this number and when we call to ask they give us some BS excuse about needing information.

Banks have all the personal information they need from their customers to begin with and there is no reason for them to call and ask for additional information. Someone is trying to get personal information for identity theft.

There is another number that is calling stating it is a Wells Fargo number 503-605-8179.

These numbers even call on the weekends when there isn't anyone at Wells Fargo to answer the call

Constantly getting phone calls from them. When I answer no one is ever there. They have called 4 times today alone.

I keep getting calls from this number but leave no message. There is no name on the called ID

Calls me 2-3 times per day. (Calls from 503-605-8179 number are the same people). One time I answered - no one on the line, other time voice said "please hold" - I hung up. Called Wells Fargo, 800 number from phone book, they said neither number belonged to their company.

After reporting Identy Theft and being charged several hundred dollars in fees, I started recieving calls on Sunday from this number. Our account is still in the red, but I refuse to pay for Identy Theft when I am supposed to be protected from this once reported. I have reported the Identy Theft at least three times a week for the last two months and still nothing. Now they are calling wanting the overdrafted funds deposited into the account!

i've been received calls from this number since I got this T-mobile pre-paid phone a month ago. and it still call me every day. it's very annoy!!!!

I just bought a new cell phone and within a few weeks started receiving calls from this number almost every hour on the hour. It is very disruptive and I feel almost harrassed.

Just got a new cell # and have been getting repeated calls from this #.

Called them back on another phone and it is Wells Fargo Overdraft Protection. The customer service rep. was very helpful: verified that there was no one by a certain name in my household, apparently the person who previously had my phone number.

Then, told me she would have the number removed from that account.

They're at it again. Reported on 5/8/07. Was told my number would be removed from their records and now they're calling again. Wells Fargo will never get my business.

Called 3 times yesterday. Never said anything back until the third time. Asked for my brother, I asked who was calling and they said Wells Fargo, I told them that he is never home and to stop calling that number. He got very rude after that.

I have been getting cals from this number on my cell phone for weeks now, usually two or three times a day. I don't answer because I don't recognize the number. They do not leave a message. Now that I see it is Wells Fargo Bank - I don't even have a Wells Fargo Bank account or anything like it - card- nothing! I don't know what is going on or if I should answer the call...

this number keeps calling never leaves a message. called it back - wf overdraft dept - for what we have 3 checking accounts and 2 vehicle loans with wf - never had a problem but this number keeps calling and the people who eventually answer don't know why i am calling them?!?!

I called the number, it is Wells Fargo. They had the incorrect name for the number. Lets see if they still call.

Same thing, everyday 3 to 4 times and get hung up on. I looked on the web and called Wells Fargo Bank, got transferred to collections dept, when I asked what the direct number to collections was they said 8774613644. I was connected to that department, I then asked 3 times why they would have a practice of calling, harassing/hanging up on all the people commenting about this issue here and got no real answer. The woman in that department then wanted my personal information, but I am not ready to give them anything until I can find out more about what they are doing and why. I have NO account with Wells Fargo and have been debt free since 1994, no way do I owe anyone any money, never paid a cent of interest on a credit card ever in my life! Why me? I think they should be reported to the better business bureau or someone, it's not right what Well Fargo is doing. Wells Fargo should be against this such a thing, instead they are causing all these problems for people. I will see what more I can find about this on other blogs.

I've gotten a few calls from this number. I called back and it does appear to be Wells Fargo as they had the name of a woman who's been giving out my phone number in order to avoid her creditors for about 8 years now, although this is the first contact of this kind for a couple years. The person who's doing this is Sheila Perrine (not sure of the spelling), she's the one I'd really like to report. The person I talked to said my number would be removed from their system (we'll see).

This number called me five times today, while I was at work. They never left a message, so I have no idea who it is and no desire to call back. Some people claim this is a number belonging to Wells Fargo, but it is not listed on the Wells Fargo website.

A message was left on my phone recorder that I should call back this Wells Fargo number and any representative will be able to help me. I called them; a guy answered the phone, and asked my account number. The he asked my name, SSN and what number I am calling from and it is that from home. I have him these data and then he said they did not call me. I started to worry after this: was the guy an identity thief? Can they hack into a phoneline?

They call me almost every hour from 10 in the morning to 7 at night. This has been going on for a week. I answer and there is no one their.

Well Fargo is the most disorganized business I have ever dealt with. It is not a bank but a train station for all of their to pass through to get to your business. Do not try to ask them a simple question or do a simple function like getting your account # from your own web account; they are lost.

I DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH WELLS FARGO, NOR HAVE I EVER. I KNOW PEOPLE THAT HAVE AND REGRET IT. I ANSWER AND THEY HANG UP. THEY CALL MY CELL PHONE RELENTLESSLY (EVEN ON SUNDAY). I'VE TALKED THE REGIONAL OFFICE (LAST YEAR) ASKING THEM WHY THEY CALL ME. TO DATE THEY HAVE NO ANSWER BUT THE CALLS KEEP COMING. WELLS FARGO NEEDS TO GET A GRIP AND CONDUCT BUSINESS THE PROPER WAY.

Been calling my mobile phone almost every day for the past few weeks. They never leave a message and they always hang up when I pick up.

They've called a numerous amount of times. However, they don't leave a message. They also called twice in a half hour. W00T!!!

This is the most annoying and unprofessional number. It calls constantly all day hangs up as soon as you answer for months on end.

I kept not answering, but the number kept calling. I searched the number on Google and found that it was Wells Fargo, who I do have an account with. I called them back to ask why they were calling me - For some reason they had my number associated with some lady named Monica, who they were trying to reach. They fixed the number in their registry and stopped calling. Apparently (I'm guessing) Monica owes them some money.

They call two to three times a day and hang up after four rings. They won't leave any messages.

Got 4 calls on my cell phone from this number recently. I have a cell only for emergencies and don't give out the number to anyone (I think only my husband knows it). Can't figure out what this is all about.

Called my cell phone. A cute sounding female (made to sound like a personal call) asked for William. I asked for william who, she answered, cutesy still, William ------. I told her he's my employee and this is my personal cell. she said he gave that number as a contact number (he has no phone). She would not identify who she was or where she was calling from, but she did get more "business-like after I started asking questions.
