The phone is ringing, and I don't recognize the number,
All Caller ID says is, "NAME UNAVAILABLE".
Please help me figure out who is calling and what they want

caller id says unavailbe no "company name" im sick of these low lifes calling me... stay clear of companies that don't behave in a professional manner. asking for personal information they could be preditors looking for kids home alone

I've had several calls from them. The person states with an East Indian accent that he/she is in Encino California. However, the person isn't able to tell me even the most basic things about Encino California which seems odd since he/she is in Encino. A little basic geography or identifying some well known landmark doesn't seem an unreasonable request for someone that is actually there.

they have been calling us for the past few weeks and it's getting very irritating. sometimes they hang up before i answer, sometimes they call me asking for a non-existant business owner.

They said they are an online marketing firm. Asked the man to put us on their DNL and he said ok. He was very polite.

Wanted to speak with manager or owner said it wasn't a sales call. She only wanted to update business information. Informed her that no one would talk with her and that her number was now blocked on our system. I love my new system that can block these calls. They get a busy signal and then the phone hangs up.

another internet yellow pages scam. caller pretends to be updating your yellow pages listing and tricks you into agreeing for a "free" service that they tack onto your phone bill for $20 to $50 every month. Be clear that you are not interested and do NOT authorize any kind of service, trial or business listing; free or otherwise. Total scam, AT&T cannot even remove it. If you get something in the mail about an internet service that looks like junk mail, then they probably decided to bill you anyway. Call and raise hell, do NOT let thm bill you because it's almost impossible to remove.

Tricked two of my employees into saying they were the manager and recorded them agreeing to the listing service.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
