I never answer the telephone anymore until the 7th Ring. I just assume if the phone rings six or less times it is just another Damn Robocall!
I have been receiving calls from this number daily for several months now. It is a credit scam! It starts as an automated call asking "if you would like to lower your credit card rate"? You are given several options so I pressed to speak to an agent to get as much info as possible. A young english speaking girl answered the phone and asked if I was paying higher than 10% on my credit card. I told her no and she hung up. In hindsight I wish I had said yes so I could get some info to try to find out what company this is. The face that she hung up without telling me that she couldn't help me leads me to believe that is a scam. There's a option that you can press to have your name removed but trust me that does not work; I did that months ago. The best thing to do is DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFO or engage them in any way. They are very rude and will curse and tell you they will continue to call. This is another clue that this is not a real company. Here's what you should do:
Call the FCC at 1-888-225-5322 and file a complaint. They will ask you a series of questions and open up an investigation. Make sure you have a pen & paper handy because they will give you a complaint confirmation number.
File a complaint with the FTC @ FTC.gov. You can call them at 1-877-382-4357 but they will redirect you to their web site.
Call your State's Attorney General and file a complaint.
If you're on the DO NOT CALL LIST and you have asked them to remove your name and not call & they continue you can collect up to $1500 for each time they call. THIS IS WHY WHEN YOU ASK THEM TO TAKE YOU OFF THE LIST THE IMMEDIATELY HANG UP.
There have been a lot of complaints thus far! Hopefully, the government is close to closing in on them. My guess is that they will continue to change phone numbers so keep a pad of paper & pen near your phone.
Good luck!
Message offered to lower interest rate on card. Do not have a card, and our phone number is on DNC Registry.
Notify the local consumer protection branch of Your Attorney General's Office.
Robo callers are out of control.
Many calls are 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., and some hospital workers, and others who work Night Shift are attempting to get sleep, after completing their shifts.
Someone needs to stop these scammers' robo calls.
I'm being bombarded this afternoon by these junksters! NEWT 2012 rang, and I did not answer; the phone rang 4 times and then stopped. This "Desjardins S" showed up a few seconds ago, and the phone rang off the hook for over 6 rings.
As I have stated before, I think this lunatic neighbor of mine (who has tried to poison my pets, vandalized my property, and tried to have me arrested for making threats when I told him in 2000 that I was writing a murder mystery book), likes to "push" my number to these robo-call centers. The best defense with him around is to keep one's doors and windows locked, and not to acknowledge him if he is outdoors. The best defense against these calls is Caller ID, and then not to pick up the phone.
SCAMMERS! They even have a ridiculous script that they read from when you accuse them of being scammers!
I am on the do not call list. why are they still calling?
Left message stating this was the 2nd and final call (I wish) to lower credit card debt and payments as related to the stimulus.
This number showed up on my caller id. I do not answer calls if I do not recognize the number.
Receive numerous calls. I have pressed one to talk to rep and when I tell them to quit callling, the hang up on me, but call me again the next day. I have reported to Do No Call list.
tried to call back as i wanted to argue
I have received these calls about 5 times a month. I press the number indicated by the recording for an associate to sign me up for a credit card. When they ask if I want to set up an account, I tell them to take me off their call list. Every time I begin the sentence, they hang up on me! I used to press the number supposed to let them know to take me off the call list but figured out it causes more calls. We have 4 cells and they call only 2 of those. It is the same message from several numbers saying my cc is going to expire and I need to press 1 to talk to an operator or whatever. When they answer, the person has a foreign accent that is difficult to understand. All 4 of our cells are on the government do not call list. I have reported them many times. It is very frustrating.
They wanted my social security number and my birth date. These are criminals. Nothing can be done about them because they own somebody highly placed in Washington. After the first Tuesday in November 2012 perhaps they will be prosecuted.
number has called me twice, no message left, i called the number from another phone and message stated
it was disconnected
I reported them yesterday but they called again today with their "final notice" about credit cards. The FCC needs to take action against these low lifes. The do-not-call list is there for a reason.
They don't leave a message.
never leave message i dont understand if we are important enough for they/them /whover to cal why not neave message??
This caller which has a caller ID "DESJARDINSEC" has called numerous times and it is always a recorded call. When I call the 8772988855 number back, it rings but is not answered.
The latest call dates:
10/10/2011 12:46 PM
10/03/2011 4:44 PM
09/19/2011 3:15 PM
09/06/2011 1:48 PM
The part of the message that my phone records is worded: "...and associated changes before the next billing cycle. Again, this is your final notice as it relates to the financial stimulus. So press 1 now to take advantage of this today".
Didn't answer, left know message.
says it's a notification of changes to my account. WHAT ACCOUNT??!!

First - make sure you are on list at donotcall.gov
Second - File complaint with donotcall.gov

Fourth - Call the Federal Trade Commission at 1-877-382-4357 and make complaint
Fifth - Call the Attorney General of the state you live in and make complaint.
When I called this number back, there was no ringing, no answer, nada!!
Caller ID said "UNAVAILABLE". This was the usual "Card Services" credit card scam. The caller claimed to work for the "Qualification Department for Visa and MasterCard". He hung up when I asked for his company's address.
This number came in on my cell phone after 9 pm. Already on govt do not call list. No message left have no idea who they are
some woman in a recording spewing last chance to get 'stimulus funds".. we hung up.

I did all these. They write all the information down. The more complaints made this way...the more they will pay attention and do something. So please don't just complain on here. And besides...it made me feel darn good calling in my complaint to every one of them.
I got mad at the phone call today...no way you can cuss or insult them enough to quit calling. He ended up telling me he is going to call me twice as often now.
They call her frequently, about once a week, for months now. I have repeatedly asked them to put me on the Do Not Call list, but then they just hang up.
I don't even own one single credit card, nor does my husband, so this is clearly a spam call. Every time I try and talk to them, they hang up! One time, they even swore at me before hanging up. These people are annoying!

Why do you idiots post over 9 pages of your personal problems with this company?
Seriously?
You people are dumb.
Nothing will get done unless you do the following
1. REPORT THEM TO DoNotCall.GOV under complains.
2. Write letters NOT EMAILS to your Attorney General, you know letters that require a 44 cent stamp. That way they have to act on your request.
3. Write letters NOT EMAILS to the Federal Trade Commission, you know letters that require a 44 cent stamp. That way they have to act on your request.
Writing over and over your stupid problem,
First call from these scammers. Luckily, they called in the afternoon, not late at night. From the comments below, sounds like the DNC List is not very effective. (We have been on the list for months.)
I got a call from this number today talking about financial stimulus. I never answer the phone unless I know the number/person calling, but later listened to the message left on my machine, so I then went and googled and found this page. Glad I didn't go too crazy.
Called just before 1am. Thought it was an emergency, but was an apparent scam. Can't believe they called at that time of night!
9/8/11... I recieved a call last night from Desjardins Secu at 3:13 AM. It was a recorded message asking if I want to lower my credit card rate. "It's all a scam...don't fall for it".
received a call from this number at 10:30pm and caller id showed Desjardins Secur. Recorded message regarding credit card debt and to press 1 to take advantage of the offer - pressed 1 and got disconnected. tried to recall number and got disconnected again. definitely a scam.
We get calls from this number frequently but sporadically. This time the idiots called at 12:45 am! This is unacceptable. I have reported them to the Do Not Call registry and filed a complaint.
They called me at 6:00 a.m.!!! Then did not come onto the line when I waited to speak to someone and complain!
Called twice in 1 night, once at 12:30am and again at 06:35am
We had a similar situation a few years back never found out who it was but it went on for days all at 4 to 5am.
We got called at 3:20 am. Tried to call the number back and it doesn't work.
They called at 12:40AM! Message wasn't even complete, and it was automated. Very annoyed as I thought something was wrong (who calls that time of night unless it's an emergency???) and also I have 2 small children who need their sleep.
These idiots called our house at 2:15am! Unbelievable!
You're right, it's not legal. You prior four should take your complaints to the FTC and your attorneys general. That way you might get a human authority involved sooner, as opposed to merely adding to the passive gripe database maintained for the DNC program.
In 2010 the FTC mothballed several credit reprice scam operations based on a mass of complaints. They need your help to stomp these roaches again. Yesterday I would swear every third comment to this site concerned this issue, so clearly there is much work ahead.
call came in at 12:34 AM, what the heck?? Thought it was a family emergency, how is this legal??
I got a call at 3:00 in the MORNING! I thought it was a family emergency until I heard the recording! What is the do not call registry for anyway.
The @ss called at 11pm
I just receive a call from these SOB at 11:45 PM these are somre stupid SOB i well call them them it the AM and have a piece of there ass
Just received a call from 877-298-8855, and the recording was to lower my rates. I pressed #1, and was connected to Keith. I politely asked to be removed from their calling ljst and he abruptly hung up. I reported the number as a complaint to the Do Not Call registry.
I hate these people. I'm so tired of them bothering me. What is the Do Not Call list for, anyway?
pressed 1 to speak to a real person after the recording, I politely asked to be removed from this call list and the live person quickly hung up
The same old credit card interest reduction scammers.
credit card rate reduction scam
We have had numerous calls from this group offering to consolidate our credit card debt. I have repeatedly requested they remove our phone number (which is on the do not call list) from their call list, however, their calls persist. When I request the name of their company, they simply hang up.
Another SCAM -
this is a company calling to say they can lower your credit card interest rate. they never leave a message if they get no answer and if you question them or how they got your tel # they hang un
