How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:

These callers are calling several times a week and in my case, they are calling for someone who has been deceased for 2 years. I've asked them to stop, but they still call. A big scam and big nuisance.
They called twice this morning. I added them to the blocked caller list (dial *60) provided by my AT&T landline. Too bad that the list allows only ten phone numbers.
I also have an internet phone service from Ooma. They have a great optional feature that blocks calls to my phone from numbers that other subscribers have blocked for reasons such as telemarketing. It is very rare to receive unwanted calls on my Ooma line. I hope AT&T will add a similar optional feature.
In general I do not answer unknown callers. I do not buy or donate over the phone. The government’s “do not call” list does not prevent enough of these calls. The blocked caller list is the most effective method to stop these calls.
