Continue to get calls from various too-free numbers which appear to the the American Heart Association. I don't answer calls that I don't recognize the number or the Caller ID.

December 1st, 2013 Diana KY

This makes at least 3 different numbers the American Heart Assoc. has called from. Spend some of that money on heart disease instead of all those toll free numbers. Alzheimer's and diabetes don't call me! But I can assure you that f I want to donate to any cause, I can find you. Don't call me, I'll call you!!!

September 29th, 2013 Mickey NM

To "Give Up Giving" -

When I mistakenly answer the phone and then tell them (or any charity) that I don't donate over the phone, they keep insisting that all they want is a commitment or that it's too expensive for them to do a mailing. They keep at until I just hang up on them. And then they still keep calling. Since they're "charities", the Do Not Call list doesn't apply.

November 9th, 2012 American Heart OH

Please know that the calls you are receiving are part of the American Heart Association’s Dear Neighbor campaign. We are reaching out to caring people to volunteer to send letters to their neighbors in February. If you would like to volunteer, please answer our call. Or, to have your name removed, please call 877-213-2767. Thank you!

November 9th, 2012 jerry TN

This is the American Heart Assn trying to con us into their 15 letter local campaign. I am tired of their constant calling. I will keep reporting them as spam as long as they call. Their mail goes into the garbage can from now on.

October 9th, 2012 Diana KY

Didn't answer. They left no message. Guess it just wasn't that important!

January 15th, 2012 Give Up Giving IL

Can't beat these robocall tactics or their organizations because there's profit. Just answer and tell them you no longer donate to any charity or cause via phone thanks to sponsors like these. Remember to mention the organization. Maybe other profit seekers will have more sway on these organization tactics than an individual American.

January 10th, 2012 Deb IL

Two calls today from this number. I'm at home sick and everytime I try to get some rest, the phone seems to call. I will never donate time or treasure to this group which seems to be AHA. If they paid for my number, they got screwed!!

January 10th, 2012 Madison WI WI

Took lady 5 hellos back & forth before she realized she had a person on line. Didn't outright ask for money but did ask me to mail info in my area on my dime. I said not interested and she starts up again. So I reminded her I just said I wasn't interested and hung up.

January 10th, 2012 Rachel VA

Call in the a.m., leave no message, caller id is blocked.

January 9th, 2012 ju KS

According to the comments I am reading - this is the 3rd phone number called by the AHA as each I have reported seems to have comments regarding the AHA. This is ridiculous. They don't leave a message. They call at very inconvenient times and they are plain disturbing.I think we all should write or e-mail AHA headquarters and complain - and tell them they aren't getting donations doing this in appropriate approach. Maybe if they received enough comments, they might reconsider.

January 9th, 2012 sally TX

They hang up when our answering machine picks up. They call often.

December 30th, 2011 Rich OH

Called us twice today. We didn't answer. Thanks to those who reported this as the American Heart Association.

This kind of stuff is the primary reason I've cut back on charitable giving. Doing so just seems to invite abuse. Give them something and they will come back for more. They seem to share info, giving to one charity seems to trigger beg attempts from others. They are hanging themselves in a noose of their own making. I don't care how worthy the charity, if they telebeg or engage in other abusive/stupid behavior, they are toast.

December 30th, 2011 Resignation. IL

I wish sponsors understood the anger and resentment they create by incessant and anonymous phone calls, much less physical distress for some older Americans rushing to reach a phone call that stops ringing after three rings or leaves no message. Good causes obtain donations through the word of good works, not repetitive phone calls. Successful businesses, charities (and even politicians) do well through marketing techniques that don't involve home privacy invasion. I think these phone sponsors do harm to their image that creates a highly negative opinion of their organization. It's difficult to have respect for an organization that has little respect for you. In the meantime, all we can do is endure their unrelenting assaults and pass on our views opinions about their judgment.

December 30th, 2011 Heinrich MD

Please know that the calls you are receiving are bound to make you never donate to this "charity" ever again. Please know this. Please know that you are lining the pockets of pilgarlic pests and stiff-legged jackals in waistcoats. Please know it.

December 20th, 2011 Lisbon CT

Call came in on Tuesday December 20, 2011 at 9:45AM. It was someone speaking on behalf of the American Heart Association. They are looking for volunteers to send out a mailing in February 2012 to 12 homes in the volunteer's neighborhood. The American Heart Association will mail the volunteer a packet of literature and envelopes. The volunteer agrees to pay the postage to mail the AHA solicitations to their neighbors. Once you get on this volunteer list, they will call you for future campaigns; and may even pass your contact information on to other agencies so they can ask you to volunteer for them in the same capacity.
BEST IF YOU ASK THEM TO REMOVE YOUR TELEPHONE NUMBER FROM THEIR CALLING LIST!

December 20th, 2011 G.S. MD

Have been receiving calls lately with "ANONYMOUS" on the Caller ID. I called the 877 number, and American Heart answered, and I asked to be removed from their list. Hope it works.

December 2nd, 2011 Glenn UT

The American Heart Association is doing themselves a real disservice by contracting out to professional callers soliciting people to do a neighborhood campaign. It should be obvious that it has "hardened our hearts" to the constant requests and solicitations. They call regardless.

November 22nd, 2011 looie NY

I called this number and asked to be taken off their call list. The lady said they would remove my number. We shall see.

November 19th, 2011 Syl

Just says Toll Free Number ... goes to answering machine .. no one leaves a message. I do not answer calls that are toll free or that I don't recognize.

November 8th, 2011 Resident47 RI

MAF: It's possibly the same entity I discussed here in December. See my reply regarding MoD. (9143682552) whocalled.us

November 8th, 2011 MAF

I just made a report about MOD, then received a call from 1-877-213-2767 -- AGAIN. American Heart Association? Who knew? They, along with MOD, should take everyone's phone number off their call list. We are listed on the NDNC Registry, but apparently that doesn't work because charities are allowed to call. Is this a charity? Or another scam? If they truly are the AHA, why don't they allow it to show up on the caller ID? Their BAD!!

November 7th, 2011 Sue

Once again. Daily calls from the AHA. Happens every year.

November 2nd, 2011 American Heart OH

Our land line is listed using my wife's maiden name. These dolts always start off by asking If I am "Mr (wife's maiden name)" or if they could speak with him. LOL! I have asked that they not call again. Asked again today. We'll see.

October 10th, 2011 MATT TEXAS 1962 TX

Cannot get it in their thick heads to stop calling for money ( yes this is a scam ) that we do not have !!!!!!!

January 6th, 2011 Mike Stephen

This is one of the 20 different number that the American Heart Assn has. I have call just got off the telephone with them and ask them to put me on there do not call list. You have to remember they can call you since they are non-profit company. If you would like to get off their list please call 877-213-8767 and ask them to put you on their no-call list. They will be polite and make the change for you.

"Annoyed", charities are not in sales, therefore exempt from scrubbing the DNC registry. That's why I quoted the FTC regarding its hired call center(s).

January 5th, 2011 ANNOYED IA

DEAR AHA,
STOP CALLING ME!!!! I HAVE ASKED NICELY, I HAVE HUNG UP ON YOUR TELEMARKETING COMPANY, AND I HAVE REFUSED TO ANSWER THE PHONE ... TODAY YOU HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO THAN ROBO DIAL MY NUMBER 10 TIMES!!!! REALLY!!! KNOCK IT OFF
thank you

January 5th, 2011 Annoyed NJ

Dear American Heart Association posting bot.. Which part of the National DO NOT CALL registry are you having a problem with?

There is a reason that you get your calls automatically rejected by many people who frequent this site and are on this list.

December 30th, 2010 Resident47 RI

Please know that the calls AHA authorizes commercial fundraiser InfoCision to drill us with are often not properly announced via Caller ID. There is only so much "caring people" can stand of daily mystery calls which border on harassment, placed by a million-dollar business which keeps half or more of what it collects for its charity clients. Please don't try to claim that coaxing people to propagate your junk mail is not somehow soliciting funds.

Here is the holy writ of FTC: "... if a third-party telemarketer is calling on behalf of a charity, a consumer may ask not to receive any more calls from, or on behalf of, that specific charity. If a third-party telemarketer calls again on behalf of that charity, the telemarketer may be subject to a fine of up to $16,000."

December 30th, 2010 Heart Viewpoint IL

Dear American Heart Association ... in response to your posting, few people would not at least consider a donation and virtually no one doubts the good work you might do. The irate response you often get is from incessant phone calls from various numbers that only identify themselves as "toll free." Direct mail or even email when possible is preferable to people running to the phone to wonder what "toll free" service is calling and then being pressured at the moment for donations or services. Making the matter worse is that so many charities (not to mention politicians) call with the "toll free" and "unknown" and "private" numbers that, in many families, those calls far outnumber calls from people we actually know. Truth is, when we see an indentified number, we just let it go to voicemail. It's just irritating to keep going to the phone to see who might be calling. Telemarketing simply is not polite or conducive to cooperation.

December 29th, 2010 American Heart OH

Please know that the calls you are receiving are part of the American Heart Association’s Dear Neighbor campaign. We are reaching out to caring people to volunteer to send letters to their neighbors in February If you would like to volunteer, please answer our call. Or, to have your name removed, please call (877) 213-2767. Thank you!

They have been calling incessantly for at least a month! I'm not going to answer and I'm certainly not going to donate money over the phone. STOP CALLING ME!

November 29th, 2010 Foster NC

when the machine picks up no one says anything but you can tell there is an open line.

September 9th, 2010 Raejean MD

This is perhaps the third or fourth time I've seen this number, usually at a ridiculous time like 8:15 this A.M. If it is truly the AHA, then they should at least not block their caller I.D. In fact, I think I am going to make that specific recommendation in future. That those organizations etc. supposedly exempt from "DNC" list should be REQUIRED to put their label on calls.

January 3rd, 2010 DCS MD

American Heart Association, calling for donations or to sucker you in to volunteering to do their fundraising for them.

I went to the AHA website and filed to be placed on their specific do-not-call list two months ago -- formerly they only been calling me from one phone number. Once I got my name listed on their website, they started calling from SIX different numbers. Then one day I picked up and, after getting their intro, I told them that I had placed my phone number on the American Heart Association do-not-call list, and to please stop calling me. They haven't called since!

December 24th, 2009 Art PA

calls each week rings twice and stops. this is harassment.

December 23rd, 2009 Bill MN

Thanks to this web site, I looked up at least six different toll free numbers from my caller ID and they are all from the American Heart Assoc. They call at all hours and do not give up. I finally answered the phone a told them I was not willing to support any organization that used telephone solicitations and to take my name off their calling list.

December 22nd, 2009 Ann MA

Called at 8:20 a.m. Who the heck do they think they are?!?!?!? If they are really calling on behalf of the American Heart Association, the AHA should be ashamed!

November 25th, 2009 kathy

All calls go through our answering machine. If we are home we do our free *69 to get the number of the caller. They call repeatedly and never ever leave a message.

November 24th, 2009 Ann

They call multiple times a day. Unbelievable. I do not believe it's the Heart Association. As "nobody home" said, it's got to be scam artists spoofing a Heart Association number.

November 24th, 2009 BT CT

Many calls and I am on the no call list !

November 18th, 2009 Hilary FL

ANOTHER Heart Association number! They call me daily with different numbers. It might be a good cause but the calls will not get donations from me.

This is the third number in a week from a spoofed number registered to American Heart Assoc. As soon as I block one these creepy telemarketers call from another. It's enough to make me want to ditch my landline altogether.

BTW, what idiot below thinks that nonprofits don't pay for postage? Not true.

Nigger working for Infocision calling for American Heart Association. A paid worker for a company hired to call for the charity and probably not giving the charity much.

Couldn't pronounce my last name. That is a dead giveaway that it is a telemarketer. Said something about American Heart Association. I hung up on her.

Just remind them that they don't pay for postage as a nonprofit and since they already have the addresses they can send them out. i always tell them I am on DNC so that means everyone to me

November 20th, 2008 Very Irate AL

They call several times a day and don't leave a message. I would like to see something done about these type of calls.

Made the mistake of answering. It is the American Heart Association. They will send you 10 letters with envelopes and stamps to send to your "friends" for donations.

December 16th, 2007 Bobby

You're right that they're exempt from the DNC list, but if you ask them to stop calling you they will do so.

December 16th, 2007 CB

I called the number and it was answered by the American Heart Association. They are looking for volunteers. I said no. They are allowed to call even if you are on a DO NOT CALL LIST - federal or state. Charities are exempt.
