How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Telling me to call if I knew of someones location. My mother-in-law received the same phone call a couple of minutes after mine. It was a recorded message from"Kerri Smith". We did not call them back.
Its a scam people!! They call me left a mesg to call them, when i call back it was after hours they was close the mesg said EOCCA collecting for verizon. I call verizon because i never had them, the rep told me it was a scam because she didn't see that every had an account with them, and it not on my credit report either. Please do not give any info to these bums they call from a 1877-208-4176 toll free #
NW, I'd say that rep could use some FDCPA skills. You don't "HAVE to call them" at all. The absurd canned demand for you to self-authenticate is the industry's response to privacy regs. That's about the clumsiest example I've heard of yet.
You will never get a rogue debt collector to honor a verbal cease-comm, and it's becoming clear the supposed keypress report isn't much good either. Send your demand via USPS Certified with card. The FTC and many consumer watchdogs explain how to draft such a letter. Learn how to exercise your rights as an alleged debtor at FTC-dot gov.

Has been harassing us for over 4 weeks. Calls all times of day looking for "Carmen Wiggins." We have had this phone number for over 30yrs and lived in the same house for as long. Don't know a Carmen Wiggins, no clue. Have tried to tell them and I give up.
When I asked the person who she was and why she was calling, she told me I need some "Phone skills." Wow.. Unreal. After that call, I started to receive calls from "Unknown" with no call back number. They would not answer, but hangup, then call back again. Went on for over an hour. These people are scumbags.
I have been recording them and will turn it over to the State. One of their recordings say that if I'm NOT this person, and I listen to the call, I HAVE to call them and tell them! I've answered and done as they say hitting 3 to tell them they have the wrong number, and they still call. I give up.
They called and since it's not a number I recognized I let VM get it. Once they left a msg, I checked it and it was a recording from a "Kerry Smith" with an important message for my uncle. My uncle has never lived with us and has been dead over a year. This is most likely a scam. I also left a comment on the phone number this "Kerry" left. That number was 877-327-9341. So heads up if you get a call from either of these 2 numbers.
this is a fraud to get you personal info. Verizon does not know who they are.
Used my 2 yo through her mother contacked her father to get to me about my brother and a phone bill and thier last names dont match who thier looking for lol p.s. and they dont pay for information

Would not state the reason for the call, but wanted me to give them the last 4 digits of my social.
This company called my home looking for a girl that I never heard of. They left a message to return the call and have my number removed from there call list if I did NOT know the person. I returned the call and requested that my number be removed. When I asked the lady who was calling she got ignorant with me and insinuated that I must know the person or I would not care who called. When I asked to speak to a supervisor she got snotty. After a few choice words she hung up on me. Very upset, I returned the call and they hung up on me again. It took me five trys until I FINALLY got to speak to a supervisor. They were VERY ignorant and RUDE!!!!
Told them not to call back. Now they leave recorded messages! Reporting them to attorney general
I don't know who they are, but they are some kind of bill collector. I received a call today looking for my ex-wife, who I divorced almost 15 years ago. This was on a telephone number I hooked up about 3 months ago. Pretty good skip tracing on their part, I would say.
Belongs to co. called CCA. Automated message does not identify. Person they were looking for is not connected to my phone number in any way. Did not identify how they got my phone number.
