How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Called number to get them to stop calling me. Wanted me to pay them "right now" over the phone with a credit card or checking account (ya right!). This is for books from the "Literary Guild Book club" that I supposedly purchased books for but they won't tell me what books or give me any information and tell me that they are not allowed to give out such information for privacy reason's. Lady was very rude to me. Told me that my credit would be messed up for 7 years if I didn't pay her on the phone right now. I said, "Okay" They keep calling with all sorts of different numbers. Very annoying.
This is a legitimate company , Its a collection agency who are collecting on their respective clients, U can visit the website takhargroup.com. There is no way You can get rid of the collection calls. You either have to pay off the debt or else endure the collection calls.
PLEASE be careful when you answer the phone from a caller ID you don't recognize.
I had the same thing as SC about a "History Book Club" and it was very hard to understand the man.
He asked my name & I said "Yes". Next thing I knew, I had unknown charges-from 2 different companies for things I NEVER signed up for- on my long distance bill.
After MUCH research by my phone company, they informed me that all a scammer has to do is get you to say "Yes" on the phone and they can charge you!! I thought that was a bunch of crap, but luckily my phone company reversed the charges for me & blocked them. Anymore, if I don't recognize the #, I don't answer the phone & if it's legal, they'll leave a message. BUT, these scammers @ this # did leave a message/ph# & thankfully I found this site & several others reporting them as a scam.
It's sad that we can't even answer our phones anymore & say "yes" & a scammer can get away with scam billing.

Takhar Group Collection Agency called from this number. I've seen other post on this site claiming they are a fake collection agency trying to get you to give your credit card number. A man named "Neal" who sounded Indian said I owed a past due balance from a "History Book Club". I asked for details, such as what books I had received and he did not know... of course, I have never joined any history book clubs, and finally, the address he quoted was an address I lived at over 7 years ago. They will pressure you to paid the balance or report you to the credit agency. I believe it is a scam, do not give them any information.
Have asked these guys to put me on their DO NOT CALL list 4 times. In the last 2 Months. Who are they?!?
