Telemarketer raising money for breast cancer society. I asked what percentage they give to the actual charity and she told me 15%. I told her that's not enough and hung up on her. I get sick of these people calling. The people that give to these organizations are people like my parents. They are elderly and they think they are helping a good cause, but they are being ripped off. It's a shame. I wish all donations would not be tax deductible and then maybe this would end. If you want to give, give, but you shouldn't be able to write it off on your taxes.

Wanted to send out mailer requesting a donation. Caller would not even let me speak when I questioned her and hung up on me! Very rude.

Woman asked for my husband by name then said she would talk to me and that they were a private fund raising agency for breast cancer, and I said you have the wrong number and hung up. Private ones like this are not raising money for anything but their own use.

Called and asked for me. I told them they have the correct person. they said "no message, we'll call back."

I did not pick up on this number. Since my mother is elderly, I know that she is vulnerable to all of these types of calls. I have ringtones that are music snip-its and have programmed all our known numbers with these ringtones. I told her that unless the ring plays music, she is not to pick it up. It works great. I look at the caller ID and I have seen calls from Jamaica. Scary how these folks get your number.

Called 7:35pm 12/5/12. Caller ID said "unknown". I let machine pick up but no message was left, they just hung up. Very ANNOYING!

It is for breast cancer. They are asking for pledges.

They have called me three times after 9 pm. I'm on the do not call list, but it does no good. I honestly think I have gotten MORE calls since being placed on that list!!!!! These people know my name and what bank I use, but they wanted my account number. HOW IN THE HELL DID THEY KNOW I USE THAT BANK?????????

Tried to get me to donate. Asked to speak to my brother at first, after i told the lady he did not live here she said never mind right number wrong name. HOW FRICKIN STUPID

They call every day. I did a Susan B Komen run years ago, and they hang onto your information forever! Last year I did it under a different name (bogus) just so they won't bother me! Leave me alone!

They have been calling once a day for 3 weeks. When I answer I get nothing.

Not interested in this organization - told them to stop calling - WON'T. Call every day at around 11 AM - they don't leave a message. Called them back - get a busy signal.

Putting out that extra dollar or two for Caller ID can save you a lot of grief. You can see the identity of a caller, sometimes with a phone number. If you don't recognize the name or the number, don't answer. It is as simple as that. When you check your call log, if such numbers and IDs appear, just zap them.

Everybody -- most of these calls are mad by a computer dialer phone numbers, the computers are capable of dialing many phone numbers. The computer tries to determine if it was answered by an answering maching, no answer, or what it really likes is to hear "hello" then the pause. That is where the connected phone is sent to agent where a window pops up on the agents computer displaying the contact information -- it could be just your name. When you let the answering maching answer the call usually never goes to the agent. If you answer the phone then say hello but never say anything after that the phone call will be routed to an agent, the agent has to spend time saying "hello...hello..." then they hang up. The telemarkers hate that, it messes with their productivity numbers where the agents pay is based on.

Got call from 877-202-5429 @ 8:02pm 02AUG2012 on [un-listed / non-published] landline phone [registered on the FTC 'Do-Not-Call' list]. Caller ID: TOLL FREE. No voice message left on answering machine. SOP @ this house is to let all calls go to answering machine. Can choose if / when to return calls to only those who leave a proper voice message on answering machine.

I've blocked this number but they keep calling. Only rings one time though.

Received a phone call from this number and refused to pickup to see who is calling me - seems everyday I am receiving at least two phone calls from 800 numbers - wished they would stop calling and you would think they would get the hint when no one answers - don't call back!

Getting pretty sick and tired of these calls that come in all the time. No message is ever left, nor do they ever say anything if you answer the phone!

Never leaves a message, one of these calls kept the line open for a few hours once before we noticed (I'd love to know how they manage that so I can redial one of their numbers and do the same thing).

We block all unknown/blank CID calls, so they start spoofing it. Great. I thought there was some law that requires telemarketers to actually identify themselves...right, but it doesn't say who to identify themselves as.

Charities are fine I support charitable organizations UNTIL they start getting belligerant on the phone and get that nasty tone when you decline to send them money or go out and beg all of your neighbors for money. I finallly learned to block ALL of them. Good riddance.

Said she was with a group looking for donations to help Breast Cancer patients with medical expenses. When I told her I was not financially able and had already given to the Breast Cancer Society, she just kept talking. So I told her she obviously wasn't listening to me and asked her to take my name & number off her list and hung up. I despise pushy people!

I am sure this is a robocaller system--but when they call---I of course do not pick up----they will call like three or four times in a five to ten minute time span---always at dinner and also early in the morning--what gets me with such things---If I didn't pick up your stinking phone call the first or second time---why in the hell am I going to pick it up on the third time that you call????

I was supposed to be on the Do Not Call Registry--but that seems to be basically worthless anymore.

This is NOT the American Cancer Society, a legitimate charity. This call is from the "Breast Cancer Society", and they are a SCAM.

They called; nobody is on the line. Solution: Use your **Selective*** Call Forwarding for this or any nuisance caller number. It will forward any calls originating from that number to someplace else. I recommend the phone number for the Federal Do Not Call Registry, 888-382-1222. Details in your phone provider's documentation.

No message....800 Service, yeah right! I don't answer the phone for 800 service, private, unknown, etc. I figure if the caller is legitamate, then they will leave a message. I tend to agree with some of my 'normal' contacts for business. they will never contact me through the phone, it is on my part to make a call!

Guess it's a good thing we do not answer calls from toll free numbers. We also do not answer calls from unidentified callers, blocked calls, or long distance calls from numbers and locations where we do not know anyone who lives in that area. We figure it this way. If they are legit they will use their real phone number with their name or business name on it so it shows on caller ids and they will have the common courtesy to leave a proper message on our answering machine. If they want to hide behind a blocked number or toll free number so we don't know who they are. They are NOT worth knowing or talking to. Especially if they can't leave a proper message saying who they need to reach, why they are calling, and how to reach them back. So. Since this works for us. Maybe more folks need to start IGNORING blank/blocked/unidentified callers. It also helps to file complaints with detailed information about what time and how many times the callers have called you and not left a message along with telling the FCC/NDNCR that your phone number is UNLISTED/UNPUBLISHED if it is so they know the callers are using automated calling tools or have accessed restricted/privaledged information about you so they can call you. Of course. If you file one time all you can expect is one flag. File EVERY TIME they call you! The more complaints they get on any given number/caller the faster thay act against that caller! ESPECIALLY CALLERS CLAIMING TO BE CALLING FOR NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION WHO ARE NOT LEGALLY ATTACHED TO THAT ORGANIZATION! Legit organizations do not blind call for donations. Did anyone know that? Call and ask the REAL Cancer Society.

I got this same number that called today.If its a fund-raising company raising money for Breast Cancer society then they need to give me money.I was diagnosed with esophageal cancer 10 month's ago.Maybe some how the hospital gave out my phone number to these people.

Rachel said she was from AC Services, professional fund raiser. I didn't wait to hear more but just told her I wasn't interested and hung up. I don't give to anyone or any charity over the phone and especially would shy away from a "professional fund raiser"!

They haven't called in a while, but now they are back. Just a bunch of scam artists. I recognized their number, so I don't answer the phone. Reporting these people does no good at all.

Referance the statement made by pwr-1! And consider ANY caller who calls you, asks for you by name, especially if you have an unlisted phone number, and asks you for money. There are news reports and warnings out all the time about scammers using such claims as well as actually using the names of REAL organizations but they have nothing legally to do with that organization. Phone USERs.. BEWARE such callers!

OH.. And when you contact the NDNCR make sure you express your disgust with the deceptive practices such calling services use for hiding their identities behind "TOLL FREE" and their propensity for hiding the fact that they keep a percentage of what they collect for such so called charities. That way something just might get done because it takes making lots of noise to get the government to do things about stuff like this.

Caller gave me her first name, said she was from something that sounded like AC Services, a professional fundraising company and she was raising money for the Breast Cancer Society. I hung up.

They had my number and last name. Quickly rattled a name saying that they were seeking donations. Yeah, so am I. Give me your credit card number, and donate, say $100. I will make sure that some cancer society somewhere will get at least $1 of your $100. The other $99? That is my fee for the fundraising effort. Be smart folks. Tell them to remove you from their calling list, report them, and if you want to donate, donate to a charity that you choose. There is many out there. If that is too confusing, donate to a local church or animal shelter or people shelter.

they called this morning..not a recording a live person, she had my name right..and claimed to be from KC something, collecting for cancer?..I told her I was on the DNC list and not to call again..filed a complaint with the DNC also

Pests and scam artists. They call multiple times a day and at early and late hours. I've informed them I am on the Do Not Call List and asked them numerous times to take my number off there list and stop calling me, yet the calls persist. I've told them there is no way I will give them a dime and they still insist on bothering me. Are they calling just to tick me off now? How are they allowed to continue doing this?

Whoever this is, they called about a week ago. They bothered me again this morning. And a short time later, I received a call from 800-459-8387. Guess if no one answers the first time, they switch numbers and call again. Can't anything be done to stop these phoney "charities"?
