Send a payment to a collections agency, any amount! They are not allowed to refuse payments. So, if they say it isn't enough and they send it back, they can consider themselves paid off. Refusal of payment=debt paid.

The Feds confirmed what victims of the Fred Hanna crime family have been reporting all along. Their crimes were no different from those of their peers: runaway skip tracing, abusive and hostile phone reps, illegal threats, privacy violation, ignoring 'no-call' demands, wrongful seizure of savings, outright lies .... on and on, practically every part of FDCPA trampled on like their hapless targets.

You don't want consumers to ''sue every time'' they are bruised or inconvenienced? Fine if you mean honest mistakes causing no harm. That's not what WAM and its many hostile industry peers do. The proper response to these fiends IS a lawsuit. It's the only force they understand. With FDCPA actions capped at a miserable $1K, these are hardly frivolous suits made for a fat payday.

Sorry, "annon". It's so often the case that the "just taking orders" defense is lobbed by a collections or call center employee, I may have made an unintended accusation. I was trying to speak broadly about the industry and got a little warm at the earlobes.

I see I should rightly have written "commissions and/or against penalties". The commission strucure is very common in collection firms, but I'm sure not an absolute. In either case there is great pressure to get accounts performing at all costs to our rights and sanity, the results of which I have experienced repeatedly and with few exceptions.

I previously did nod to the inherent difficulty of the DCA's job. I've had more crappy service jobs than I'd like to recall, facing both the nicest and the flakiest patrons. I would never assume incompetence or hostility is standard procedure for a rep from the other side of a counter or phone line. I make those observations when the other party has had a chance to demonstrate good or bad habits. Again, I'm sorry to say the majority of collectors I've encountered and studied are bad actors. The bad behavior is nurtured and demanded, woven into the workplace culture, with the highest rewards reserved for those who can act most like schoolyard bullies. So no, I don't spare any patience for people who are told to break the law or be fired, and quietly accept the former choice.

You could ask about my consumer habits and I may answer. I think Wal-Mart is a abomination among other retailers on an endless race to the bottom. The diamond trade appears to be a dangerous mix of artificial scarcity and denial of human rights. Almost the same for the big box stores, except edited to read 'artificial plenty' thanks to overseas slave labor. I've read that poster too, about becoming the change you want to see. But you are bringing in too many battle fronts for this forum and this collector issue.

The fact is, I reiterate, West Asset is part of the Hanna family of junk debt buyers. (That "junk" term is critical, for we are not discussing first party debt, but what happens after a lender has writen off the full value of an account and sells it off.) The Hanna name is loathsome to anyone studying the debt industry with any objectivity. Everything he touches turns into patterns of consumer abuse, such as chasing accounts past SOL or already paid, harassing relatives of the recently deceased, stunningly rude behavior, and several other flagrant violations of Federal law.

Certainly, responding to the hostile behavior of these firms with more of the same is stupid and counterproductive, but very humanly difficult to avoid the more a person's nerves are trampled so that someone else can make pure profit on an account which is not strictly "owed". These people here and on countless other forums who have submitted complaints, most are not financially underwater by choice, and they didn't start these fights.

Shall we ask if you shop at WalMart, do you buy diamonds without realizing who DIED for that thing you flaunt around...are you raging about those issues...are you doing anything about those issue??? no you would rather sit on a forum and judge people when you yourself could/should be judged also..And just to clarify things for you...I do not work in the industry and am not "wounded". I have had the same phone call and interactions as each of you on here...which is what brought me here...maybe the difference is that I put myself in the reps position...do you honestly think that everybody works the perfect job or wants to do the job they are doing? So everyone here in this thread who has been chased for uncollectable, illegitimate debt, everyone who has been wrongly and repeatedly skip-traced into a rage, that's the best they get for an apology? Please don't sound so wounded. It's not a personal problem, it's systemic. You work in an industry with a severely flawed business model.

Yes, collection employees are underpaid to field hostile and evasive consumers, but they're also working for commissions and against penalties for low account performance, creating a drive to themselves become desperate and hostile. Yes, they are shown the laws, then encouraged to skirt them. What the boss says doesn't excuse abusive tactics, even those just out of FDCPA reach. Lastly, computers are sophisticated idiots. They can only work with what they are fed, which is often bundled portfolios of debt accounts with inadequate data on chain of ownership or account history.

If you are consistently cordial and helpful in your collector cubicle, bravo for bucking the trend. In kind I always advise the call recipients not to lose their composure. There's no need for extra aggravation. But guess what, filling a demand for a supervisor often means passing the call to an equally obstinate co-worker. If by chance a rogue employee does get booted, often the bully is rehired a few months later after the dispute cools off. Also, "complain to the client" doesn't work when the calling entity and the debt buyer are the same.

You collection reps will absolutely be judged, just as you are judging us, trying to discover motives and postures. Without question, deception and fraud can be found in any industry. Why does yours seem to thrive on it? The key difference (usually) is that if I receive bad treatment from a given business I can end the problem without a fight. Don't buy from that store, don't order dinner from that counter, and life goes on. More often than not the company's problem is incidental and not outright corruption from the executive level.

Not so with the junk debt buyer, which has to be kept on a short regulatory leash and slapped with periodic lawsuits to re-teach it barely decent manners. Oh, and fighting their crimes is not a waste. Eventually the worst crumble and are forced to regroup under new names. Just ask Tobias "Bags of Money" Boyland if complaints never harmed him as he was handcuffed a year ago. Ask your bretheren from Mann Bracken and Axiant if bad conduct never comes back like a bladed boomerang. Ask your bosses in the Hanna clan how much Fred is paying through settlement in three years of unpaid overtime to your peers. Ask them how they could let their staffers work in a toxic moldy building with clogged toilets for so long. Ask them why the Hanna name is poisoned on every consumer forum available.

West Asset is not a scam, not a thief? Only when you call, maybe. Some practices are wrong but not all are illegal. That's the real argument here, the true frustration.

I read through all these complaints....and while I know how ticked off people can get about the annoying phone calls...I just want to point out a few things that I have learned from experience....This company is not a scam...they are not out to steal your money. They are contracted through other companies to collect a debt. Your complaint should go to the company you owe the debt to also for hiring them....don't just take it all out on West. They have automated dialer systems that are computerized and we all know that computers are not 100% reliable. They receive the phone numbers and addresses from the companies who contract them and from the clients. We all know how easy it is to just give out anybody's phone number and West really has no way of knowing if the number is correct.Example: you are avoiding them calling you to collect a debt and they want to verify your number and you give a bogus number...they record the number given and use the dialer to call this number. Yes it is very annoying to have repeated calls from this company....and worse when you get a rep who is rude....but being rude back only lands you on a forum complaining about it. And remember how many times a day that caller is dealing with people blowing whistles and yelling at them on the phone when they are just trying to make a living like the next guy. As for working for bottom feeders and scum.....well think about where you shop, if you own diamonds, or what car you drive....do you honestly think those corporations are not bottom feeding scums too? Scams and scums are all around us...but yet you choose to rant and rave at the kid or the parent on the phone trying to put food on the table just like you. They are told what to say and do by their employer. While some reps can be very rude and inappropriate, so can some clients. If you feel the rep you spoke to was rude or inappropriate then by all means report them to the director of that dept. The phone calls are recorded! They can and will pull that call and listen to what you both say....Just saying before you go and blame the people calling you think about the whole picture. The computer systems used by these companies have many errors in them and are most of the time the root of the problem. If you don't want to talk to them then don't answer. And if you do answer then please try not to be rude...for you really have no idea what the other person is going through also. And I am sure I will get all kinds of nasty responses to this post...but until you have walked a day in their shoes also....do not judge the person on the other line. Send in a written response asking to cease and desist. Change your number and run the risk that your new number hasn't been the victim of scams and bottom feeders calling it....but for gosh sake don't spend hours and money on trying to "get these suckers and shut them down" because it will probably never happen....and you just wasted all your time on something pointless. Yes there should be consequences for calling people when they don't want to be called, for invading ones privacy and space...but hello....as long as you continue to use modern technology then you should be prepared for never having privacy people.

West Asset Management constantly calls my job (like every day). I tell them that I tried working something out with the creditor, but was denied because what was expected is not possible (80% initial payment, then $200/month). My current medical expenses do not allow for this to even happen. I have asked them please do not call my job concerning this matter. I was once told..."you are going to pay this debt or risk going to court". Well there is no way that I have $9,000 on hand. I try my best not to make arrangements that I know are going to be inpossible to keep. I can not be on the work phone for personal matters or I won't have a job. I understand that collection is what they do, but the level of harrassment is crazy.

i have been trying to get a lien resolved on my grandmothers house for a month now no one from this company can give me any information or call me back...i think i scared them off bc i stated that i know my rights that i needed the note and the lien judgementof which im guessing they cannot provide seeing as this debt is 15years old...can anyone help me out i need a loan for my grandmother to get an opperation but with this on her credit report they will not give it to us....i want this credited off her report...what should i do??

They had a robo dialer call my office-the MAIN NUMBER-and recording said this message is from West Asset Management-A debt collector and then said my name! This is clear violation of FDCPA. filed complaints today with FTC and NYS attorney general..

They called me and I set up a final payment to close the account and the money was taken out however they have nw reported the account with a $46 collection balance! What a rip off, this company needs to be sued and shut down.

They call me about three times a day and I never answer the phone. They're calling for some woman named Carole Crawford who I guess used to have my phone number, but I'm afraid to even answer the phone and tell them to stop calling because I've heard such horrible things about them. Sometimes when they call it's just a continuous, loud busy tone and sometimes it's the recorded message. They really need to get their business together and do something productive with their time. I'm very surprised that these harrassing calls are legal and they're not all in jail where they deserve to be!

YOu people are fucking itiots!! The only reason these people are calling you is because you owe a debt. And if this is not the case then you need to provide proof that states otherwise. The only way the rep has any control over who they call is if they have discussed the matter with you and a resolution is in place. Otherwise, it is on an automated dialer and out of that person's hand. As far as harassment goes, you have no legitimate claim because they are within their rights to contact you as long as they call wthin the timeframe of 8am to 9pm. They obtain numbers through public records and skiptracing. DNC doesn't work either because it isn't a sales call its a debt collection. The only way the calls can stop is through a written statement or resolution. They can provide you with an itemized bill which proves you owe the debt. When they ask fo address or ss# it is just to verify that they have the correct person. Being rude or hanging up is just going to make them call you back. My suggestion is to hear what they have to say because they are just dong their job.

I am already registered on DNC. They are calling the previous owner (crook) of my house that I bought in August of 2007.

Collection agencies are exempt from the Do Not Call list. You can thank the bureaucracy in the Bush administration for this. As one writer explained, if you return their call, that constitutes a "Business relationship", then they can call you forever. The trick is NOT to call them from your home phone number, but use a pay phone and your number will not be recorded. If you want them permanently to stop calling, whether you are a debtor or not, you must simply send them a letter saying "Do not call me any more." They would then be in violation of the Fair Debt Collections Practice Act. The fines are hefty and a Consumer Debt Collections lawyer can get you a hefty profit, whether you are the debtor or not. West Asset Management regularly violates the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. They harrased my wife and me for debts that we didn't even owe. The original debtor admitted to billing mistakes, and West Asset claimed we had to *prove* to them that we didn't owe the debt--which is against the law. Further, we asked them for documentation that we owed the debt, and they responded that they didn't have to give us any documentation (again, against the law). We also told them that we did not owe the debt and to stop calling us, which they refused to do, also a against the law. Furthermore, they refused to give us any information about the alleged debts, except for the amounts owed, which (after a ton of research on part) we learned was very inflated (on the order 5-7 times the amount of the original billing mistake as reported to them). They also issued threats, divuldged personal information to 3rd parties, used decpetive statements, and refused to accurately identify themselves. They've also claimed that the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act does not apply to them, nor to us.

I did not get these calls - they instead are calling my friends based on them getting their names from my website. Which is illegal because my current contact info is also on the site so.....

Just putting taht out there in case anyone needs that info for any legal actions you guys are doing. I am in the process of trying for a restraining order based on stalking which I think I have good grounds for.

These people are relentless. They want money for medical bills. If I had said money I would have paid them already. i am filing for bankruptcy. They still call even though I told them that. Lawyer says after filing is complete the calls will stop.

I've been getting calls from the above said company now for about 2 weeks. They are calling my direct business line. My number is unpublished and shows up as blocked or unavailable when I call out. They are either random calling or the only place they could have gotten my direct number is from my website, as I only give this number out as a contact to clients. My bills, both personal and business, are all current, no credit card balances and my only debt is a mortgage anyway. So, I checked my credit report to see if someone has stolen my identity and there isn't anything unusual. This has got to be a scam!

This company is a debt collection agency for Sprint. I had turned my childrens cell phones off (after my contract was up) and had a $4.59 billing fee left of the account that I was not aware of, per them. They called and called but would not send me a statement showing where this fee came from. I own a business and have Nextel for my employees this upset me so much that I in turn cancelled my phone account with Nextel/Sprint which lost them an account of 70+ phones. Hope it was worth the $4.59 to them.

yes I been recieving calls as well. They even called one of my friends asking for me. I gossed off called them and ripped them a new one. Now I called my attourney and he is calling them fuckers. he was like thats not leagal and they WILL stop

Called me about my former Sprint account that I had switched to Verizon, Sprint had sent it to them even though I had to pay off the account to keep my number, lady I spoke with was actually quite helpful, I was neervous to call after reading this after googling . She transfered me directly to Sprint, which I thought might have been shady so I hung up and called directly and cleared it up.

I've been geeting these calls on my cell ph 3-4 times a day, every day for 5 months. Either with same message everyone else has posted, or no message. Have never called back, but am totally fed up with these annoying calls.

I got a call from this number today. I live in Mississippi and they are asking to speak with my younger brother that lives in chicago. How they got my cell # is beyound me. My brother called the number, someone answered "West Asset Management.

Have started repeatedly calling us recently. I have only answered once -- heard a message saying this was an important call for [name of homeowner]. Asked me to confirm my identity by pressing 1 2x -- then forwarded me on to a message saying "all representatives are busy". I hung up.

i didnt answer. I assume its the usual collectors calling about past due debts for people that had this number 5-10 years ago.

I find this number on my Caller ID countless times, even though I am on the DNC list. No message left. Very aggravating. But, I'm happy to find this site, so I know that its not important, its harrassment!

I've been called twice once after I told them not to call me. I'd like to reach through the line and well you know ...

5 to 6 times a day, when i do answer thay ask me to confirm my address and than i ask them who they are and they hang up on me.

This number calls six to seven times a day and cost me money each time . I don't even know who they are I only get partial messages from them. How can i get this to stop?

Thanks to all who have posted comments and have done research. I received a call from this number last night and this morning. Caller ID just says "Texarkana, AK" and shows the number. I have had other numbers call and have filed complaints on the DNC site, but that does no good either. My suggestion is to just ignore the calls. Most of us have caller ID. If it is not a name/number I recognize, I DON'T ANSWER. USE THE TECHNOLOGY YOU HAVE!!! Let your voice mail/answering machine screen the call. If it is a legit call, they'll leave a message. If not, just be amused and IGNORE it! They may call several more times, but after a while, they will give up if you don't "bite"!

This is a collection agency. The previous idiot who had my number apparently has bad credit everywhere and I am getting the collection calls. I tried to put this on call blocker list and it will not allow it since it is a long distance number.

This is there web page..they collect, for one, for BP gas which changed its address recently and your payment probably took 30 days or more to reach them...hence the calls from the collection agency. BP deserves the boot for this one.

I have received dozens of calls from this number, shown as coming from Texarkana, AR. I finally located a number for West Asset Management: 888-433-2886. The person I spoke to said someone (whom I don't know) used my phone number in connection with some credit transaction.
She checked the person's social security number and said they would remove my number from their database. By the way, she said they have 80 numbers that generate these calls.

Recieved a letter from West Asset Mgt. saying I owed $70 to Qwest. Called Qwest and they said I owed 17 dollars and I could pay them over the phone. Paid my 17 (that wasn't late) but still received a call from this number tonight on my cell phone. It was an automated message so I hung up and googled. Where they got my cell # I have no idea!!! Anyway, something seems fishy!!!!

I do not know who they are and I do not answer Unknown Name callers.

I say let's round 'em up and start torturing ! I managed to squize out the location they are calling from and it's in Arkansas, not in Georgia. Words aren't helpping with those people. I think It's time to inflict some physical pain !!! Anyone interested ?

This # calls my 15yr. old sons cell phone day and night. I've picked it up a few times and only one time someone on the other end said something then i couldn't understand what the hell they said. I don't know this # and i wont it to stop calling here. This cell phone is in my name not my sons besides whom ever there looking for we cant understand it anyway.Worse then that why do they call and not say anything? This is a legit collection agency. A couple of reasons why they seem shady: 1) They're calling you, and the reason why you're complaining on here is because you're not the person they're looking for. This leads me to number 2) They're not going to give you somebody else's collection details (thats against the law.)

If you've signed up for the NDNCL (National Do Not Call List) congrats, but nice try. Again, this is a collection agency. They have the right to call every number they have on file to collect the debt that is owned to their clients. This is the law also.

So, you got a new number, and you're an innocent, here are a few pointers

A) Be nice. If you're going to cuss me out, I'm not going to try to help you.
B) Explain to them the situation, offer to fax them proof that you just got this service. Remember, they are collection officers, they've heard every excuse under the book from everybody. Sadly, its up to you to prove that you're innocent. According to them, they've already proven you're guilty.
C) If the person you're talking to is rude, and is not cooperating, there is always a manager/supervisor available to take the call and speak to you, demand one; and be done with it.

i got a message last weekend on my home number telling me to call the 866 number - i called them back from my cell phone and they asked for my neighbor and asked to give him a message-today this 870-772-1835 number has called me 5 times with no message, and i didn't answer. i filed an FCC claim. obviously a scam since they must have saw my caller id

They called today. I wasted 25 minutes of my time researching online. Thanks to whocalled.us I was able to contact the main office number. Inform them they had the wrong person, the wrong social security number, and a wrong not-mine debt. I asked and they said they would remove my phone number from their files.

This number constantly calls me during work hours Monday-Friday 8-5. Nobody identifies themself when they call. They are harasse me during work hours.

Call regularly - no message - no answer

They attempt to extract personal information in order to open credit/accounts and charge things in your name. They get lists of people's names from shady internet types (and some/partial information), then attempt to get the rest of what they need (SS#, correct address, full name, etc.)They pretend that you either have an account with them, or that you owe them money for something (which they don't specifically identify). Evidentl my name (actually they have incorrect name but sounds similar) is on this "list" and have had several variants of this contact from 2-3 other "companies" in varias locations all trying to contact me on some "important businees matter".

Contact your state attorney generals office, the FCC, or the local FBI complaint office to file a report (often can be done online). Eventually enough reports get the good guys after 'em, and they move on.

This number has called my home several times a day for the last 3 months for someone who doesn't live here.

I am interested in filing a class action lawsuit. I am going to start keeping a written log of the times they call to help build evidence. :)

I am an attorney in Suffolk County, New York and I myself was contacted by this company as well. In my return telephone call they violated at least 3 sections of the Faird Debt Collection Practices Act.

I was going to file a civil complaint against them in Federal Court but after reading alll these posts I am interested in starting a class action.

Called and left a message to call them back. I did the next days and waited for a rep. When someone answered, they were asking for a friend of mine with whom I have not spoken in a long time. I did not mention that I knew him, just that I was not him so she said they had the wrong number and HUNG UP on me.

What is the reason I am giving this information out?
To make sure I post information on West Asset Management and to make as many people as possible aware of this company and it’s dirty tactic’s.

They have stopped at nothing by calling my home at all hours.

They have been allowed to call, disturb, harass and wake myself and my husband up during all times of the day, they have made myself use my valuable time in order to take hours out of my time to try and research this company and who the number belonged too, they have cost me money by having to send certified mail and return receipt requested. They should be much more careful who they harass.

If I can do research and find out this much information on them, then they should be able to find the correct people instead of harassing the wrong party.

They gave a claim # for us to referance back to when we would call them back. They asked for a co workers husband when they called. They asked for him to return the call.

870-772-1835 has called me off and on for months now, they keep asking for a Jane**** same last name as mine.
Myself and my husband have told them over and over that no one has ever lived here with the names that they have asked for and I've had the same number for almost 30 years. Yet even after we tell them that no Jane has ever lived here, they still call at all times of the day. A few times they have asked for a Johnaton. I don't have any debts and my feeling is that this indeed must be a Telephone scam. I've filed two complaints with the FCC and one with the "Do Not Call List".
I don't understand if they were a legitimate company, how in the world could they collect if they keep calling the wrong people and wrong numbers? This is harasment at it's best! I'm close to the point of just going along with them and saying, yes, this is Jane, do you know where Tarzan is? I guess they will keep wasting their time and mine. What else can we do as consumers?

They called me for the first time today - I rarely answer my cell phone unless I know who is calling but frequently look up the numbers I am unfamiliar with - many times its the wrong number but this one piqued my interest and now that I see so many people have had the problem I will definitely go onto DNC and make sure I'm registered!

I don't answer - they leave a voicemail with a recorded message, but never in the message do they identify themselves. It says "To interrupt this message at any time and speak with a representative, please press 1. This message is for . Please call us at 1-888-639-1641 regarding account . Again...".

I don't know the person they are looking for by name in the message, and by the time I get my voicemail, I no longer have the option to hit 1 to talk to them. They have called numerous times over the past several months.

I am not sure how many times I have received a call from this number, but it is numerous.
Last year I received a letter from West Asset Management with the same phone number. They stated that they were a collection agency but won't say which company they are collecting the debt for and the amount of the debt. (very strange indeed)

This number calls my house and my cell phone but no one will not say a word. Name is unknown. I will register with DNC and hope that this will go away.

I am not at home right now so I cannot say exactly what the message said verbatim,but I do know this: It began in the middle of a sentence,the guy spoke really loud,he gave me a number to call back which was NOT the one he called from,and he told me what account number it was in regards to,which he also kindly told me which account number while at that point speaking as fast as he possibly could so that noone could ever get the # written down without trying really hard and did not tell me what company the account was with.

They are a collection agency. They have called me numerous times and left no messages. When I finally called them they were trying to collect money for NCO Financial. They usually deal with past due medical accounts.

This # calls here weekly and finally today I got a message stating that it was an important call, but when I was not the person they were referencing, I spoke to customer service and they said I was a contact number for the person the recording was asking for.

How do I block these morons?
They call 2 or 3 times a day with a recording saying they're a debt collector and to call a toll free number (which I have no intention of doing). I've only had this number 3 months. They don't even say who the call is for.

Next time they call you, ask them what scam they are trying to pull with you and ask them for their company name and address and send a letter with a request not to call.

If they continue to do so, file a harassment lawsuit.

Just received a call from this number on my mobile from a machine. As usual I whistled very loudly into the phone and called the intruder by a few obscenities. ABUSE these people! They are tresspassing upon YOUR space!

The company, not identified on my caller ID, is calling my cell, which is not (I Hope) published anywhere. It may be a machine-programmed call or from a brokerage house or collection agency ("Asset Management"?). I called another one back, who had been calling me on my cell and asking for a Sandy one day and a Phyllis the next. Very strange.

I got a number back to call once again. This time I called it. I was asked if I knew -----------. They're fishing. I was told I was removed from their call list. This number 870-772-1835 from Texarkana,AR keeps calling here about 3 times a day, EVERY DAY! My husband finally answered today to see who the hell it was, and it was a recording asking for him to enter the last four digits of his social security #. He hung up and called back. The person didn't want to say who they were. He kept asking and they finally said they were a limited liability company. He asked what that was and why they keep calling here. He said what are you, a debt collector or something? Then they just hung up on him.

Something is VERY shady with them. I googled it and found this. I just filed a claim with the FCC.

This is apparently some type of "bill collector". They call my cell everyday and leaves a message from someone who must have had my number at one time. I call the number back and explained to them that I do not know the person they are leaving messages for and to remove my number from their database. I have done this now for the 2nd time.

After reading the messages here, I decided to file complaints for each call received. I filed 3 separate complaints through the DNC Site. I will see if the calls continue and post back.

This company has an automated dialing system that has called numerous times, asking for an individual I do not know and who does not live at my address (last time I checked, anyway). When I call them at the alternate number given by their machine, 866-302-0858, to tell them that I want my name and number off their list, they "thank me for my time" and within a couple days I get another call.

My son has received more than one call on his cell phone. He is 12. I called the number back to see who was calling and they said West Asset Mgmt a peronal liability company. I told them to take me off the call list and asked who they were looking for--a totally different name and it was a girl's name. Ridiculous. I googled the number and found this site. I think I am going to report them.

I rec'd a call yesterday from this number, I answered the lady asked me right away what is your address?? I was like Who are you and why do you need my address you called me I dont have to answer to you what my address is or who I am. The lady just kept repeating she needed my address I asked her if she was f'n stupid if she thinks I am answering her and hung up. This number called my WORK !!! No idea who they were till I read this forum. Seems very shady, hope they dont keep calling here cause ill eventually get written up for it.

Although this message says it is from a "Debt Collector", I feel no more obligated to return their call than I do to return calls to recordings from the local carpet cleaner.

If they had actual business with me, they would not hang up when I answer the phone and ONLY leave a recorded message, aimed at WHOEVER ANSWERS THE PHONE.

I also believe that if you call the number, as they ask, you have essentially "responded to their advertising" which waives your rights under the "DO NOT CALL" list.

These animals call every day, even after I told them on two occasions that my son died last year.One guy said I should have notifed them, even though he won't tell me who they are. The second one said she would make a note of that, and they still call every day. I too called NDC and they still call. Now I guess I'll call and file a police report because they don't listen and this is harassment at the very least, forget about the horror I suffer everytime they call to remind me my son died and they don't care.

I use Verizon Iobi, I BLOCK all calles except for those I wish to allow, but I review those blocked as well. This number is there day after day after day. I wish I could call them as frequent as they seem to call me.
