Dork on other end tried to get me to give my SSAN to verify it was me or not. NOT!!

West Asset Management is a company that collects debts. They can be reached at (888) 433-2886 8:30 am to 5 pm EST. If they leave a message and you call them back, you can't get through to a live person to tell them they have a wrong number as you are routed out of their system. I know -- I tried 9 times!!! I got the 2nd number by going to their website at westassetmanagement.com

I've left a message asking them to call me back. We will see what happens. Too bad the US revolves on Eastern Time -- those in the west are left at a great inconvenience.

Worse yet is I am not the person they are wanting! And be sure not to give out SSN or other personal information unless you are sure of your contact. Information on Caller ID can be forged. You have no assurance you are talking to who they say they are.

Automated recording on voice mail says West Asset Management that collects debts, call back at 866-882-5879. Phone number shown as 903-891-1156 as unknown name and when search google that number appears to be Johnny Moore Sherman Tx.

We have received at least a dozen calls from this company (always after business hours) asking for a person who doesn’t reside at this number. I tried to return the call at the number provided & got an automated service. Looked them up on the web & got several companies by the name of West Asset Management. Called one at 1-888-433-2886 and left a message saying they had the wrong person & not to call anymore. Additionally, I signed up for the National Do Not Call List. Thanks for the comments provided by others. Everyone needs to know about the various type of scam artists out there just lurking in the shadows.

Keeps calling my office phone leaving this phone number and talking about account number 2741457 and the name Michael Cordell (or something like that). They have called 4 or 5 times. I'm not Michael and I haven't called them back.

These jerks have been calling *constantly* for over a year now. I've talked to them, asked them nicely to stop calling, asked them rudely to stop calling, TOLD them to stop calling per Texas State Law and that the penalty is $500 per call if they persist, resorted to calling them every 3 minutes for an entire day and playing every song I could find with the word "asshole" in it.

They just don't get the message. Now it's just an automated machine calling. They've cost us over $600 by making our primary phone line totally useless, requiring another line altogether; not to mention an entire second phone system for the new line. I really should sue these bastards, but I'm not that kind of person, nor do I have the time or energy. What could they possibly gain from being such total asinine pig fuckers? It's the people who give in to these tactics that perpetuate the abuse upon the rest of us. PEOPLE! WAKE UP AND STOP TAKING UNSOLICITED PHONE CALLS!! If we ALL make life MORE DIFFICULT when they do this, they'll find some other way to get what they want, and with any luck they choose a less intrusive, offensive, way.

Received a call from these people and yes it was a recording. I will not be calling back and I would encourage everyone to ignore these jerks. Do not call them and report abuse if they persist in bothering you,

I've had just the same experiences with these jerks as you guys. West Asset Management is apparently trying to get as much info about you as possible, so they can compile lists and then sell them (mottom-feeders).
Go to donotcall.gov and register a complaint. Also, my folks got something called a Telezapper (I think?). On connection, it emits that three-tone sound that means a number's been disconnected. For people who know it's your number, they just hang on until the sound is gone, then everything continues as normal. My folks used it for a month or so and got off telemarketers' lists very quickly. I'm not that desperate yet but considering it. AND, when I pull up this page I see that West Asset Management HAS AN AD AT THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER?! I am perplexed.

They gave me another telephone number 877-411-7197. They don't want to tell to my daugther anything.

Recorded message said to call "West Asset Management acollection company and call back or dial 1". They gave number ending in 1649 for call back. They called last 2 Saturdays at 9:05am and called Tuesday at 8:23pm.

I get calls from these people at least every other day...and then, someone visiting had the idiocy to take a message and give them my NAME when they called...now they call even more.

I have received 2 phone calls (903-891-1395 & customer service 866-82-2881). After reading some of your e-mails, I will no longer respond. Thank you.

Left message to call them back. I called they were looking for my mother in law who has been in a nursing home for almost 8 years now. They wanted a power of attorney information before they would release any information and wanted us to fax the papers to them along with her SS#. We have no idea what this is for. They won't give us any information unless we give them information. Which is not going to happen.

Left message on my answering machine, identified themselves as "West Asset Management, A Debt Collector", I called back and provided the phone number where they left the message, I was told they were trying to locate someone I've never heard of. They said they'd take me off their list.

They called me at my work number in Houston ( not quite sure how they got it) about I debt I owe to a medical center in Austin. I called the medical center, and they in fact did report it to West Asset Management. If they have your information incorrect, or if it isn't you that owes, it's really not that difficult to get them to quit calling. If you actually owe the debt, and it's verified by them, they will obviously continue to call until you pay dues owed. It's not rocket science people.

Ever wonder where drug addicts, prison parolees, and newly released mental patients go? They become debt collectors....oh.....that's why they're BRAIN DEAD DIRTBAGS!

I found free letters on adviceontime.com that you can mail to this a@@holes to get them to stop calling you. They also have an article on how to deal with them. Fight back, they have to respect your legal rights.

West Asset Mgmt. called for the "party responsible" for a person I do not know. They were pushy and rude and I told them to remove my name and phone number from all of their databases/lists/directories. They initially left a message and I called them back to address the issue. Their call back number on the message was 1-866-882-5879 but the number on my caller i.d. was 903-891-1154.

They called for a former employee and refused to take NO for an answer when told they were not to call back. Very pushy, obnoxious, scumbags.

I receive calls from them all the time. Just leaving messages.
I have called back: The person they want DOES NOT LIVE HERE. We bought a foreclosed home, from a bank. I assume that the person they want was the previous owner. When I give my phone number; I am told they can not look it up by phone number, nor can they remove my number unless the account holder tells them to! I DO NOT KNOW THE ACCOUNT HOLDER.... I am the line owner of the phone number you are calling.
It does no good. They keep calling, 3 or more times a day. I have reported the issue to the AG. I hope it helps out some.

Got calls early morning, late nites and on Sundays from West Asset Management at the 866 area code number. Did not appreciate the calls and they also send me post cards telling me I have an account with them and to make a payment to the sherman, texas office.

These people will call from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm. they leave automated messg. Called back, and they have wrong person. Tryed to get it all straight, and the guy Russell got smart. I looked up the law for Ohio and they are to stop calling when asked, and each time they call you are to document the time and it is a $1000.00 for each offense. They do not give up. We are now taken the legal action against them and it will cost them more that the debt they are trying to collect on. Maybe this will put the !!!!!!! in their place! Innocent people are being affected by the morons. A lot of elderly are being taken advantage of, by being told to pay the debt for the person and they will go away, other wise they will see the person in jail by not paying. They even go so far as to try to get bank account numbers and credit cards. THEY NEED TO BE STOPPED!!! This should not be tolerated in anyway shape or form. Stand up and fight people. Don't sit there. Check your laws and help the innocent.

Look if you don't have a debt tell them its simple, if you do then pay it or make arrangements ....most of the people who whine and moan owe money ... that's rights you haven't paid a bill and somebody calls you WOW SHOCK HORROR can you believe they would call you because you didnt pay a past due bill ...if you lent a friend $1000 and they didn't pay would you maybe just now and again call them up..hmm tough one there ... learn some responsibility.
