Got the call on 3/30/2013, 9:am, hungup! It was a recording. From a correctional instatut, micheal .

This is a legitimate service. Inmates form jails all over the country use this service to make collect calls to loved ones. If you are getting calls, and don;t know anyone in jail, it's because the inmates thinks they are calling the correct number, (they are trying to remember numbers without them written down anywhere) You can block the calls, by following the directions in the message, if you listen. You must double confirm the calls in order to be charged.

On this date, at this time (8:05), the caller claimed to be at the Weakley County Jail. Earllier that morning at 9:39 caller claimed be at a "penatentiary" (spelling??). I could never understand his name, but could tell it was a man. The rest of the message was a recording telling me how much it would cost, for how long, etc. After the first couple of times I got the calls, probably a month earlier, I'd just hang up. On February 26, I called our county jail to report the call. The lady I spoke to said it couldn't be any one there and said she'd tell her supervisor. I've never heard any more from them. . .

Why is a jail calling my cell phone ???

I answered the first time my cell phone rang, and it was an automated message from a prison. The message identified the prisoner, but it did not identify me. I believe it asked if I would accept a charge. I hung up. They called three more times, and I didn't answer. I called the number back and confirmed that they are am inmate collect call service. I requested that they block my number, and they confirmed that they had. The rep I talked to would not confirm that they dial random numbers, but I think that's what's going on. I'm not sure how it works, but it sure sounds like a way to charge calls to innocent people.

Keep getting calls from this # 866-847-1251 ?? Anyone with this number? Very tired of calls

recieved 3 called from this number, 12:30 in the morning, 1:30 in the morning, and then 4:30 in the morning. answered the last one, and heard a recorded voice call me BY MY NAME and say there was an inmate attempting to contact me, would I accept the charge. I hung up, but it made me wonder, how would they know my name?

Call came in from Berrien county jail. Inmate collect call service. Allows you to take collect call from inmates who are currently in jail

out of nowhere, been getting about 10 calls a day from this number past two days. i called the number back and it is indeed a phone service for inmates. if you want to block these calls, just call the number, press 6, and request to no longer receive calls from inmates.

I have rec'd over 20 calls from this number. I called phone company and they aren't able to block this phone number unless I purchase Parent control for $5/month to block the number. Has anyone else contacted Securis TEch number recently that was provided below? Let me know if this was successful..

Repeated, unwanted calls from unidentified inmate from a Correctional Facility.
Caller placed 19 calls to my cell phone over a two day period. I called the Securis Tech telephone provider to report the incident and block the calls. I also blocked the phone number on my cell phone. DO NOT PRESS #1 TO ACCEPT THE CALLS! INMATE IS TRYING TO ESTABLISH AN ACCOUNT WHICH WILL BE CHARGED TO YOUR PHONE NUMBER!!

The company is a phone service for the correctional institution of Clark County Jail in Ohio. To block your phone number I was directed to call 1-800-844-6591 Securis Tech( communication service for this correctional facility)

Came in on my wifes cellular device.

Said it was an inmate at the EauClaire County Correctional Facility who wanted to establish an account for future calls.

This is not a scam. It is a call from a prison inmate. Some prisons use a calling billing service that prison inmates can use. If you do not know anyone in prison, then it was most likely the inmate dialed your number by mistake. Don't accept the charges if you don't want to billed.

Was a short voicemail that was not correct due to timing. It said to recieve this free call press enter...Dont know anyone there..lol

Since I was sitting with anyone who would call me from jail, had to be an error.

Recording says it is from an inmate at the Polk County Jail and for a one time fee.....

Recieved a call from EBR Parish Prison via recorder that suggested I authorize a one time fee of $9 and some change to have unlimited calls from that facility.

This is a scam trying to bill your phone. It is NOT from someone you know in jail it is a way to make you pay 10 bucks to them via your cell phone bill. It will claim any local jail based on your location to make it seem more realistic. SCAM!

My phone number was called and a message left--I have NO connection with this # for any reason!!!
