How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Caller ID is Toll Free Call. It is nonprofit "American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75231 which calls from 22 phone numbers. 800-282-0291, 866-211-1876, 866-431-5121, 866-462-5672, 866-463-3860, 866-619-5010, 866-808-2488, 866-813-2990, 866-839-9604, 866-839-9608, 866-839-9609, 866-867-4178, 877-212-5046, 877-213-2767, 877-213-5044, 877-213-5046, 877-213-5049, 877-353-1611, 877-619-1828, 886-213-2990, 888-355-7209, 888-379-2463"
caller leaves no message
This is just another way for them to try and get you to answer. When people get wise to one number and don't answer, they switch to another. They only get to our answering machine once, then I block it.
Thank you guys so much! They have been calling my Mom every day, so I did call back and got her off the list. Yay!
Every evening at 7 pm, hang up if answered, hang up if answering machine picks up. At least say something after a week of interupting my sleep-night worker.
I called the number back like someone else did and asked to be removed from their call list. The woman very politely agreed to do so.
Dec 11 2007 and still getting pestering calls from them. When will the cell phone manufacturers put a special "ring" that is silent that we can associate with those numbers? Then we will never again be disturbed.
American Heart Association. I called it back and told them to take me off their calling list, the verified my phone number and took me off their list. Let's hope this is true.
Called at 8:06 AM. Let it go to the answering machine but no message left. They call daily.
Apparently, no one reads what the Do Not Call Registry is all about. The DNC list does not cover non-profit organizations, charities or marketing firms. So can tell these people that you are on the DNC list a million times and it will not do you any good. You have to tell the organization specifically to take you off of their personal do not call list. And then this removes your name for one year only and they can start calling you again.
Have advised AHA many times I am on Do Not Call List.
This number is from the American Heart Assoc. They call as early as 8:30am, and never leave a message. They also call several times a day.
Always during the day and always hang up calls. If I answer, nobody is there and if the machine takes it, they don't leave a message.
They very politely agreed to put us on their do-not-call list. We'll see.
