I too called back and was able to place my # on their do not call list... very simple.

These peons have called me 2 or 3 times now asking for someone who has my same last name. I told them that person did not live or work at my place, and they apologized. Only to call back again a month or so later! This last time, I was told that their "database did not get updated," and that they would make a note to remove my number. Let's see.

Generally, I pick this type of call once and blocked these calls immediately.
Today, I got this call, but nobody was there to pick up this. After seeing all comments here, I am not gonna pick up this number and going to block this as well.

This number 866-838-6579 is Bank Of America's Insurance Dept.I called the number back and a recording said " that BOA calls sometimes to let you know about programs that might be a service to you. If you call the number back you can put your phone number on the Do Not Call list and you wont recieve calls from this Dept again. Hopefully this works because i'm very tired of them calling.

This number is on my caller id an average of 3 times a day. When I finally do answer, there is just dead air and no one talks. I want OFF the list

see if your phone company has a free service to block phone numbers that you don't want.  all I have to do is put in a code and the 10 digit phone number and no more calls!

Apparently you need to log on to your account at BOA. Once logged in, find the "Privacy/Security" link at the bottom and opt out of all calls. It says to give them 30 days to take effect. After I did it, the number of BOA calls per week dropped dramatically.

They were calling twice a day, every day. I called them back and got a recording. I went through the process of removing my name from their call list and the recording said it would take 30 days. They hadn't called in a couple weeks and today some woman calls and asks for me, I said yes and she said "Ok, thank you". WTF is that? Does BoA have any idea that they are alienating their customers with this silliness?

I guess the only way to stop the calling is to go to a branch and close my account, I've had enough.

I have called the number back and requested my number be removed and have filed a complaint with the Missouri State No Call list. When a live person was on the line, they were told not to call our number again. Now the phone rings, the 866-838-6579 with Unavailable shows on caller ID but upon answering there is dead air, the line remains open till I hang up. These calls come in all times of day and night. These people should be fined especially since they are apparently having a computer do the calling after they are told not to call back.

Seems like Bof A insurance calls a million times a day. I usually don't pick up. 10:00 am this moening I did and actually spoke with a lady. She asked to speak with my son (20 years old); I said this is his mother who is this and what is this in refernce to? I am in the National Do not call registry but I also kept getting calls from the number. Finally, I couldn't tolerate it, so i call them back and entered my number according to the recorded message. Now i am in the Bank of America's own Do not call registry and wish that I would no longer get any calls from them.

You can add yourself to Bank of America's Do Not Call List. Call the number that's been calling you (it's a recording), and enter your phone number. This places you on their own Do Not Call List. Worked for me.

6-15-07 this has gone on to dam long. this leads me to believe that bank of america sucks a big one.i put my money in a bank to keep it safe.now some group of a** holes want to make my money double safe.

I have done the callback to the number shown on caller id and supposedly been placed on the do not call list, twice. It seems they do not follow their own list, or it is a scam. If it keeps up, maybe my attorney daughter would like to take the case.

I usually do not answer these calls, but another family member picked it up and forwarded the call to me. Caller identified herself as, "calling on behalf of Bank of America." Wanted to verify myaddress and informed me that I will be receiving a packet for accidental life insurance and that I HAVE to cancel it. Mere receipt may constitute, as I understand, acceptance of the offer. I declined the offer, but wondering in what unforessen way I may have already been bought.

Go to the 'Contact Us' tab.
Then go to the 'Privacy & Security tab' then 'Privacy Preferences' and you can fill out the form and opt out of them sharing your information.

They've called me every day for the past several months. I called Bank of America (Tenal Belick and Renee Kornsizer). They said the would help, but I am still receiving the phone calls. They also seemed very confused.

FYI...if you are on the DO NOT CALL LIST...for more than 31 days let them know that you will file a compliant at donotcall.gov and that they are subject to $11,000 fine. That should stop the calls.

I'm an insurance agent for BOA, I find their tactics despicable. They contract through telemarketing companies called SITEL and Global Contact Services. You can call BOA and opt-out by calling 888-665-9900. Trust me, do it! Otherwise they'll never stop!

On my landline received a call from this number many times. I got sick of it and looked it up on the internet. Says "800 Service" on my caller id. Received the latest on 11/20/2006 @ 1:36pm Central. I am on the no call list and if I find out who this is, they are in for it!

They call daily starting at 9am and then every 15 minutes or so. They hang up on the answering machine. They will stop around 11am and then pick back up at 8pm-9pm.

I was getting 4 or so calls a day while at work for about a month. Finally i answered and tore the guy a new asshole. I bank with BofA and threatened to close my accounts if it didnt stop. That seemed to have done the trick, no calls this week.

I finally talked to them after they've been calling every day. when they talked to me it was from bank of america trying to sell me accident insurance.

Yes, you can have your name removed from one list and they will put it on another and call you from that list. I am continually telling them not to call me over and over again.

This number called this evening again and I answered. They said that they were with Bank of America (Insurance). I asked to whom I was speaking too (Tiffany) and also demanded that they remove my # immediately or I would contact authorities, they told me that it would take time to remove, so I asked for her supervisor (Jennifer Davis). I told her the same thing and I also told her that I was on the "Do Not Call List" and she said "National" and I said yes. She verified my address and telephone #. I told her that I wanted my number removed immediately. She said that she would pass this on to her supervisor. So if I get another call, I will let u know the outcome.

This nimber is Bank of America insurance services. I called the number back. I am in MD. Just answer the phone and leave the phone, don't talk or anything, this really screws up their phone lines and it really really annoys them. An open phone line is hard to disconnect from on their side. You can opt out of one thing but they will put your name on another list and keep calling you from that list.

HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM:

Call BofA Insurance Services at 1-800-781-7066. Do not choose a menu option. When you get a rep, ask for a supervisor. If they try to question you too much, just keep repeating yourself, "I need to talk to a supervisor." When you get a supervisor, insist on being removed from their caller list. I threatened to pull my accounts from BofA, as these calls are waking up my husband, who works graveyard. BofA sells its insurance through contractors, and, although BofA is great, the contractors are *horrible*, the worst type of telemarketers. If BofA is smart, they will dump them, as this will ruin their image.

They call me several times a day, too. Caller ID says 800 Service. My zip is 62295

They have been calling me every 30 minutes for the past week. Literally, 10 times a day. And on Saturday! SOOOOOOOOO annoying.

They call every couple hours from morning to night. Sometimes more. They are getting frusstrating. very harrassing.

They call once or twice about every other day and I am on the National Do Not Call list.

I am in the "Do Not Call" registry and these assholes call several time per day. Today, they called at 11:01 and 19:30.
