This was from FIA Card Services, which does collections for Bank of America.
This is REALLY wierd. I received a call at my hotel room, left on my hotel voice mail as follows:
Hi Mr. (my last name) this Tina Garnet calling from Bank of America. I was trying to get in touch with a Mustad (my last name), I am not sure if I have the right number or not. Please get in touch with me at 866-826-9048 at extension 80136. Thank you.
I have never had a Bank of America account and have no idea how they got my hotel room, although I stay here often when working out of town. Seems they must have accessed my credit card records somehow and found out I stay here, then called the hotel asked to be connected to my room. Wierd and I would think that is illegal!
Woman's name, Mrs. Flag. and she called 75 yr. old father and dislosed a supposed debt of his daughter who does not even live there. Said it is urgent etc. This must be highly illegal. Said there was no way to leave a message for the consumer, then in the next sentence said she had left several messages for consumer and hadn't gotten a response. This is wrong and upsetting to an elderly person!!!What do I do?
Same call here, three times now, different name, looking for relative, regarding business. Relative contacted local B of A bank, and its a scam, phishing, or what ever. They just left message that its urgent, lol, yeah.
Guys name was David and he disclosed amount owed to a family member. Is ths not illegal?
