How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

This number has shown up in ID numerous times the last couple of days. No one is ever there when I answer. Times have varied and number of rings I answer on vary. No one there. If you figure out who it is and want them Whacked, I will offer my services.
i get thi call all the time but never answer it and they never leave a message
Its Quest pimping me to save money by upping the service for a additional fee which cost more. Nice savings plan! piss off quest.
Whoever, or whatever, is at this number keeps calling my home several times a week, sometimes several times a day. They do not leave a message, they just call and call. I am sick of it.
Called 6x since 6/1/10. No one leaves a message. Picked up today. Caller hungup without saying anything.
Comes thru as 800 Service on caller ID with number
866-815-5318.
Its Qwest called it back got thier automated system.
No message left.
I get called by this idiotic number numerous times a day. I am so sick and tired of it...TIRED of it...and the "do not call" registry isn't helping, now is it? I have tallied up the times called by this number in the past 8 days...over 10 times!! are you freaking kidding me???
Called at 7:40 AM, hung up when answering machine answered. All the caller id ever shows is toll free, but I see from others that this is from Qwest. Man, you would think that Qwest would at least follow the calling rules on when to call, and display a business name.
They wont offer this but qwest will sell you a nortel phone that gives out short message saying this phone does not allow uknown, blocked calls or calls from solicitors. then it prompts caller to then follow commands by pushing a single digit on key pad unblocking number. computer dialers cannot due this. and friends can bypass outgoing prompt message by pressing number on key pad when phone answers. It will raise your monthly bill but phone has a few other features like separate vm for every one in home. ie. push one for sally push 2 for jimmy push 4 for complaint dept. good luck with your annoying callers.
Not surprised to read that this is Qwest sales call. The calls that come from this number occur for weeks at a time, many times a day. After a while they stop for a few months. Now, I finally have a telephone that lets me block unwanted numbers - all they get is a continuous ring with no pick-up. The call never comes through. Do-Not-Call lists are useless, since an exception in the law allows companies to cold-call their own customers.
asked to be put on their do not call list, and they said it would take 30 days.
customer service guy was friendly and helpful.
I am a qwest customer, so i don't see this as being too offensive.
If you pick up the phone when it is ringing, it will more than likely be a collection agency on the other
end looking for any kind of info to connect you to an account or create one. If you see the number on your
caller ID and call it, you will actually connect to Quest Services.
It's called phone spoofing. This is mostly done by collection agencies. They pretend to be someone else
and getting enough info from you to create an account. Next thing you will get is a paper threat to pay
something in full or go to court. Some of us have been dealing with these bottom feeders for months and
years. We have programs that track and trace these numbers and then match them to the time and dates with
the phone company. None have matched the actual caller. They also spoof themselves as your neighbors.
Advice: take your bill or some proof to the phone provider and have them trace. If you owe money or have
ever in the past, you can bet places like these will be faking themselves as someone else to get the data
they need. Type:"phone spoofing" in your browser or here's a site for a start:
en.wikipedia.org . Everyone should be aware of these activities for their
own protection. Also see: "predictive dialers" and "VOIP".
Note: Two known collection agencies that were tracked: Law Offices of Joe Pezzuto - Collect America and
Portfolio Recovery Services
Call from Qwest. Called the number back and asked that my number be taken off the Qwest call list. The Qwest person asked for my phone number(you'd think Quest would have caller ID), my address, my name, and my birthdate. When I objected to answering more questions, I was told my name could not be removed unless I answered those questions and a few more. At that point I asked to speak with a supervisor. Good decision. Found out it takes four weeks to get your number removed unless you talk to a supervisor. Supervisors can remove your number within 24 hours and they don't need you to answer a string of questions. My Advice. Start with a supervisor and don't buy any Quest stock. After reading comments online, I called the number again and asked for Qwest repair service. The lady gave me the number for repair service instead of connecting me. I asked if this was really Quest. The Lady said, Yes, this is Quest, absolutely. I asked again, are you really the Qwest phone company. She then said, no, we are a third party marketer for Quest. Now I'm wondering why they wanted my birthdate and what other information they might have requested had I continued. Can you spell phishing?
Spoke with Matt at Qwest and the number is one that Qwest uses Matt told me. They have called 3-4 times a day for the past 8 working days. I am usually at work. No message is left. Matt could not tell me why I was being called. He offered to put my number on a do not call list for Qwest customers, as if it were some kind of special privilege. I suspect these are marketing calls from some call center Qwest contracts with but Matt claimed to know nothing other than how to put me on a dnc list. I'll post again if they call.
They call at least twice a day, sometimes three times. Usually during a meal, too. They hang up as soon as the machine answers.
STOP calling!!!
Not interested in Qwest internet service!!!!!!!!!!
How stupid is Qwest? We're already (unfortunately) customers!
Some people have been able to speak with the caller: It is Qwest.
Call them, complain, and demand to be taken off their list.
Someone at this number has called off and on for several days, several times a day. Who is calling? It can't be anything I want or I'd call them!
This number calls all the time and they won't stop. Should I pick up or not?
I called the number back, since it is toll-free. It was immediately answered with a recording, "Welcome to Qwest! The next available representative will be with you shortly." I stayed on the line and talked with a representative. It really was Qwest. He asked if we have a computer and then asked what we pay / mo for internet. Qwest could supply us with internet at about half the cost of cable internet that we now have, but I told him that we had tried Qwest DSL and it would only work for us at 250K & would not work at 1.5 meg speeds. In a year or so, we might try Qwest DSL again. If they can get it to work for us at 1.5 meg, we would be happy to switch back and save money. Maybe now that I've had this conversation with them, they will quit calling our house 2 or 3 times per day.
These people have been calling, 2 or 3 times daily, 6 or 7 days a week, for months! I can set my clocks by them. I do not answer numbers or names I do not recognize and they never leave a message. And my number is on both state and Federal no-call lists.
Called two days in a row. Comes up as Unknown
This was a sales call from Qwest communications...basically trying to get me to bundle my telephone, tv, wireless, and Internet service into one package with them.
Calls 2 or more times a day never leaves message. or answers. I am getting very annoyed by this.
