Who Called Us

Jeff, you kick ass! I got that phone tray program working on my computer. Unfortunately, my modem can't play the prerecorded messages back at them. I especially liked the "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" one. But it can at least recognize the numbers and disconnect them after a single ring.

You have to send a written cease and desist notice to make them stop calling, if you care the person they are trying to contact. If you tell them it is the wrong number and they keep calling it is illegal. The issue is that the white pages online isnt lways accurate and people lie all the time about the wrong number.

I have recieved numerous calls from this "oncore" as well and they have my name and ask me to press one if it is me and then put me on hold, I have no idea what they want, but they are harassing me like 24-7 they call my house number every 1-2 minutes and my cell phone, does anyone know what is going on or how to get them to STOP!!!!

This is Encore Collections. They also call from 877.409.2110. And, they also call as ERMI, from 703.656.9960 [Encore Receivables].

These people randomly call my new cell phone number. They never leave a message, except sometimes leave several minutes of sounds that appear to sound like a call center (the background has the voices of other people talking on the phone).

I've had my cell phone for 8 months now, and they still call about every other day.

Whoever had my number before must owe someone a lot of money...

@Jeff, excellent recommendation of that PhoneTray thing.

They called me 2 days straight every hour at 20 min past. They had my phone ringing at night and mid ring it would stop at 9pm.

If you have a broadband connection, I recommend Phone Tray Free (Google it). You hook your phone line to your modem and you can zap calls automatically by number. It will usually ring twice before dumping a call but that's less annoying. You can also play a zap message like "{tones} This number is no longer in service." I am not affiliated with the people who make the FREE program. I just use it and am happy with it and just want to share something that can give you some peace of mind.

They call every other, yes every other day and someone is either fooling with me or they can't put what they want to say into words...

Had a woman and man call(recorded message) and say that it wasn't a sales or marketing call but that I needed to call about an important business matter. Also had a Mr. Jones call and say call him about an important business matter.

THESE PEOPLE KEEP CALLING FOR MARIE BLACKMON. NOT HER NUMBER WHAT ABOUT THIS DON'T THESE PEOPLE UNDERSTAND.

THESE STUPID PEOPLE KEEP CALLING MY HOME ALL TIMES OF THE DAY FOR SOMEONE WHO HASN'T HAD THIS NO. IN 3 YEARS. THEY ARE SICK & RELENTLESS. ITS A NUISANCE

I had a message left from this company. He said his name was Mr. Gray and I needed to call him regarding an important business matter.

Called constantly all day. Message said "Ms. Johnson needs to talk to you today". Called it back from a different phone and they said it is "Encore" but wouldn't say anything further. I have no idea why they are calling constantly.

I've repeatly told them not to call, but yet they persist...filing a FCC compliant now

I keep getting calls from this number for someone else who I don't even know. They never say who they are, but they argue with me when I say it isn't the phone of that person's.

This was a call from somebody named Mr. handy. That it was urgent that I call back. I don't know about you but I am not calling some stranger named Mr. Handy.

A Mrs. Johnson left a message on my answering machine on a Saturday night saying she NEEDS a call back TODAY. Later she called back again but didn't leave a message.
She's wasting her time if she thinks I'm going to call her back at all, much less on a Saturday night.

My husband talked to these same people yesterday. After researching, he found out from them it is a company called Encore and that they have a record of fraudulent billing. Be cautious!

I get this call at least 25 times a day. I refuse to answer. We are filing bankruptcy and honestly I cannot take the harassment anymore. they never leave a message, and if they know you are on another call, they call on my cell, they are relentless. It is awful and has driven me to tears many days. What kind of leg does a person have to stand on with this? i do not know anything about reporting it, and should I? Whoever they are representing I am sure we owe money too, but we are financially ruined and have no other way to go other than bankruptcy. HELP, if you can.

It is a collection company called Encore. I notified them that they are never to call again. The Fair Debt Collection Act allows you to request no calls and if they call and violate that request, they can be fined. This company is nuts. Calling 20-30 times a day and every two minutes.

I received calls at 7:34, 7:39, 8:09, 8:23, 8:25, 8:29, 8:32, 8:52, 8:56, 8:58 on the evening of 10-12-2006 from 866-802-6979. Never a message left. All it says is "Toll Free Call" on the caller ID.

I rec'd 11 calls from this nbr on Sat 9/23/06 at:
10:02, 10:10, 10:18, 10:20, 10:24, 10:30, 10:34, 10:45, 10:55, 11:39 & 11:55

"It's important that you contact Mr Smith regarding an important business matter at 866-802-6979. I'll be expecting your call"

Somebody from this number had called my cellphone 25 times (every minute)... What's up with this company?

Whoever this number is they call repeatedly every 1-2 minutes and never leave a message.
