I answered and they refused to tell me who they were or what organization they were calling from and hung up on me.

They keep calling me n wont tell me why today they are gibing me additude. I am calling my lawyer to put a stop to it. How did they get my number?

These people are a bit of scumbags, someone used my Drivers License # to write bad checks to walmart, they treated me like I wrote them. I don't ever write checks.

The comment from "Attorney 1" is telling of the sort of "professional" help out there. He's almost correct but for a critical point. The seven year cutoff he mentioned is the automatic deletion of most trade lines from a credit report. The ability of a collector to sue rests on your own state's Statute of Limitations, which may be longer or shorter. If you go lawyer shopping, try to find one who can recite FDCPA and FCRA backwards in his sleep.

They call repeatedly and normally I just hang up. This time I pressed 1 for more information - a recorded message said this call may be recorded for security purposes - then it rang - a recorded man's voice said 'Hello' then it hung up. I am on the Do Not Call list and have no outstanding debt and a near perfect credit score. Why are they calling?

I have been receiving calls from "FMS" on my home phone for several months. I always hang up on the recorded message. I have filed a complaint with both the FTC's "Do Not Call" registry (on which my phone number is registered) and the FCC. I await their response. The next step will be a letter to both the Oklahoma and Texas Attorneys General.

They called several times each day and have for several months now. I do not answer. They leave a recorded message on my phone. I need to get the calls stopped.

My suggestion is that if the person is honestly rude to you, that you should report it to the corporate office. the does not respond when i say hell-o....i would consider this a harassing call and would like to have it stopped.

I had been receiving this call with no idea who it was until I entered the message and discover this page. I called 1-800-580-2577 FMS and got connected to a person who confirmed that my number was being called since they had the name of the dead beat that had my phone number before me. They said they would remove my number from the calling list. I asked them why I was being disconnected every time I pushes 1 to speak to them and they said the automated system calls so many numbers and when someone picks up and there is not enough staff to answer it it drops the call. Let's see if that works...

Financial Management Service -- Delinquent Debt Collector (money owed to the government...i.e. student loans, taxes, etc.)

After reading all the comments it has become clear to me that these low-lifes must have to make a pre-determined amount of calls per day to earn their salary. I think they just pick numbers or run a computer list, and just keep calling, then laugh at you when you complain.
The FCC, FTC, and atty general will receive complaints from me today, and I hope you all follow suit. Together maybe we can get rid of these jerks. I'm also going to get the local TV stations investigative reporters on this case. If we all do these things, we can end this nightmnare.

I have received numerous calls from this company on both my cell phones and home phone. They hangup on the machine, and when you call back and get a representative they hangup on you as soon as you complain or ask any questions.
They call before 8am somedays, and as late as 10pm at night. They have no legit reason to be calling me.
Why doesn't the AG or other government agency stop these clowns? Forget complaining to the BBB as they are useless, and have no regulatory powers. Complain to the FCC and the atty general in your state. If we all do this we can get these rude jerks put out of business once and for all. I have never seen such abuse before.

My phone is ringing every ten minutes with this number and has not left any message. So far this evening I have recieved 6 phone calls in the last hour and a half

I called back 866-674-0156 and told them someone called from that number. She asked if someone was looking for an apartment to rent. I said no, I own my own place, so not looking. Shew said OK sorry for the call.

Keep getting calls from this number asking me to call them back and telling me "this is not a sales call" Have no credit issues. Really with they would stop calling me.

Regular calls from this company saying Please hold on the line, or please press 1 to speak to a representative, so I always do and it ALWAYS disconnects the phone call. I want to talk to these poeple. Find out what they want. The number they give me is never a working line. The number the call from is always busy. I need some sort of way to get in touch, to get some answers. I'm confused.

At 8:19 am, they called. They asked if a person lived here, who had a name similar to my name. I told them no one lived here by that name. They told me they would take me off their calling list. The person said they were FMS, but said FMS does not stand for anything (that is ridiculous). She would not give me their mailing address until I asked to speak to her supervisor, but then she gave me "P.O. Box 707600, Tulsa OK 74170". She was rude. I hope she gets inconvenienced at HER home with repeated calls!!! What jerks.

I've been getting calls on my prepaid cell phone, which means I pay for their stupid calls every time they call! I know it is NOT legit, because I have NEVER used my cell phone number with any company for any reason, so there could not possibly be a bill 'out there' that they are collecting for. I wish I could sue for abuse of my cell phone minutes!

These people call me all the time. It's obviously not a legitimate company, I started getting these calls before I even had a credit card. I have no idea what they're getting out of this, but every time i try to call them back i get disconnected. Has anyone that called and asked to be removed actually gotten removed?

I've reported this company to the FCC and FTC. How is this still going on? clearly illegal.

This num calls me everyday around the same time. It's just a recording saying to speak to a rep push 1 or call us at 866-674-0156. When I call them I sit on hold and they ask for my number and ask for someone with my last name but an unknown first name. looked them up on internet. looks like some collections for the government. How did they get my number?

Have been getting calls from this number for several months. Tried to "press 1" to speak to an agent and it hangs up. From the looks of the postings I will just have to continue to hang up and hope they take my number out of their system some time or other.

New land line 6 months ago; the calls started 3 months ago. I won't call THEM but I am going to report them to the district attorney and see if I need to CALL first and what to say before I report it to the state Attorney General.

have been receiving calls at rate of 1/day for about 2 months. answered 1 time but have not called them back. don't owe them money and always pay off my bills. after reading all the input, won't answer when they call (day or night!). checked with phone company, but can't get their number blocked because it's 'out of my service area' and is a toll free number to boot.

have responded to other collection agencies who have called (always for the man who had this number before me) and they told me they would continue to call even if he doesn't live here or if i don't know him!

they are a collection agency i think. my boyfriend has loans due and he used me as a reference so they keep calling. his grandma tried to get them to stop but they wont. you may have to change your number.

To all who are concerned: FMS is a collection agency. NEVER, EVER pay a collection agency for any reason.. If you have been turned over to any collection agency...You do not have to pay them or communicate with them. YOU do not owe them. If you have any intent to pay the debt off, then work with the company you owe. NOT THE COLLECTION AGENCY. If your credit has already been marred, paying the collection agency WILL NOT help at all. Again DO NOT PAY OR COMMUNICATE with ANY collection agency. They are hired by another company after your debt was charged off by the orginal creditor. They called 3 times at the same time everyday...no one is here to take the call.

Caller ID reads 800 SERVICE. They did not leave a message. When is enough enough? Also, read the entry left on 9/11/2007 by "Attorney 1" - it's great!!!

I added call screening which allows you to block calls from a particular number because the frequent calls from this # have been irritating. Unfortunately this service does not work with 800 numbers because they "are not real phone numbers." Today, after reading posts on this page I finally just called the number to speak to someone. They asked about a girl's name and rattled off a cell phone number which is a local number. I told them this is a business which I run by myself and I don't have any employees so I have nothing to do with whatever they are calling about.

On a side note, I run a pawn shop next to a bar and the name they gave was the same last name as the bar owner next door. Our phone numbers are not close. It is irking me that this company get a phone number from somewhere (pull it out of their butt?) and will continue to call it forever regardless of it having nothing to do with the issue.

I wonder if they care that half of all of their activity is harassing innocent civilians...and how long will it be before someone teaches them a lesson by bringing a lawsuit. They business tactics are a public nuisance at the very least and should be challenged.

I'm a lawyer. Ever since my wife and I got a new land line, we have received more calls than I can count from collection agencies.
Here's my advice: 1) Don't ever speak to them. They use lies, deception, and tricks to get you to pay what you don't owe in many cases. If they say they can do something to you, they are probably lying, or else they would have done it already. 2) Even if you had an account with the company they claim, if it is over 7 years old, they have no right to collect - UNLESS YOU AGREE TO PAY IT. My advice is not to ever tell anything to anyone but YOUR OWN lawyer. 3) Be sure to keep an updated version of your credit report, and to remove any bogus or out of date entries. When these jerks call and say you owe a debt, say "I'm looking at my credit report right now, pal. I've never heard of you or that account. Stop calling me or I will have the attorney general start calling you."

I had missed a few calls from this number, 866-674-0156; they never left any message other then their phone number. So I ran the number on “Who Called” and after reading the post and knowing it was a collection firm and that I do not owe anyone money called the number back. No need to block my number or call from a different phone as they already have and are calling my number. My call was answered by a machine and took just seconds to get to a live person named Mark. Simple stated that I was receiving calls from this number and he replied that they were looking form a woman, a woman I did not know said my number was removed. If I continue to get calls I’ll update.

We get calls from various numbers associated with FMS for numerous people that we do not know nor of whom we've ever heard. They stop calling for one name, then start up 2-3 months later looking for a different person.

Got a call today that said "we have a call for you, this is not a sales call, press 1 to speak to a rep or dial xxx-xxxx whatever number." I have had about a dozen of these so I decided to press 1 to see if I could get them to stop. The guy said my number wasn't in their database, and that chances are my number was was a "forwarding number" they got from another number in their database. Whatever the H*ll that means! Definitely a shady operation of some kind...

Called me twice at my work number. Emailed them using the address provided on the page fms-collect.com. I'll see what happens.

They keep calling for someone that doesn't live here. I tell them I don't and have never known this person, but they still keep calling. I suspect this person owes money. They are not going to find them by calling my number.

Called twice in the past couple of weeks, no message left.

Number comes up on caller ID. After receiving several calls from them, I finally called them back. They were looking for someone with my name, different address. I told them I don't live there..never did. They said they would remove my name. They were pleasant, and professional. Total call, less than 2 minutes. Now we'll see if the calls stop.

These clowns call all the time. I had been hiding from them for at least six months: I have paid off all my creditors (I was smart and sent certified letters with return receipt cards)--I will try and call them from work tomorrow to see whom it is they claim I owe money to. Hopefully when I read off money order numbers, US Postal Service receipt of delivery notices, they will leave me alone!

Received a call from a very demanding woman wanting information. They wouldn't tell us what this was regarding. I asked for the name of the company and what they did. She said they handled matters. Whatever! I have been trying to figure out what the heck this is about and decided to google it. Sounds Bogus to me.

Received a call from a Jack,badge #90316; as rude and smart assed as they come.Claims we owed a bill to Radio Shack/Citibank from 6 years ago.Explained that there is no monies owed to Radio Shack,we had written them,merchant bank & State Attorneys General regarding this issue many years ago. FMS did not have my correct address,any record of the transactions,copies of correspondence.They wanted me to respond to some documentation that they wanted to send me. I refused to fall for the bait.
I asked them who should I send my bill to for my time; they were taken aback.
My suggestion is they call anyone,send them a bill for your time,research,answering questions,etc. at a high enough rate to get their attention,say $250.00 per hour.I guess if they don't pay you can turn them in to a collection agency !!

Before they never leave a message but today they did!! got a call from this number and it left the message to call a Walter Smith. Since they were asking for someone other than me I called back and told them they had the wrong number and to please take me off their list. They asked for my number then asked for an entirly different person, this time someone I knew and knew would never give out my home phone number. These are real slime balls.

This company calls using someone else' name. The same protocol - answer machine. They think they are slick. But let me tell you something: DO NOT RETURN THEIR PHONE CALLS! They are getting paid each time you return their call; that is what their intentions are! EACH TIME YOU CALL THEM BACK, THEY GET PAID! Don't call them; get even and file a complaint with the FCC which will direct you to the FBI because this is a bogus business under the guise of being legitimate. That is ilegal. Let them keep caling, but don't pay them by picking up the phone. They will be put to a stop!

This company has been calling me for months now. I have told them that they have the wrong number for the person they are looking for. One guy told me that their research department verified that this number belonged to the person that they were looking for and until they came up with something else, they would keep calling me. They somehow got my cell # and won't stop calling it. Evey one that I have talked to has been extremely rude!

This company called my home the last 2 nights in a row. After reading these messages I called them back, gave them my phone number and they asked for a person I have never heard of. The man apologized and said he would remove my number.

I am receiving calls now from this FMS which are recorded messages asking to please hold and a representative will be with you shortly. I end up hanging up the phone I just recently change my number and I am getting calls from telemarketers and collection agencies looking for other people. But this is annoying.

The most rude people I have ever encountered, very elusive about who they are and demanding answers. Accused me of commiting fraud. You have got to be kidding me. These people should be banned from the human race.
Collection agency wanting payment from someone I don't even know. What a bunch of loosers these guys are.

Got a message on my machine: "...call for you. This is not a sales call. If you would like to speak to a representative, please press 1. If not, please contact our office at (the number.)" No identification of who they are or why they called. I am on the Do Not Call list, and I don't owe any money (if it is the collection agency others have identified).

And why on earth would I call them if I didn't want to speak to anyone?

TONIGHT WE GOT ANOTHER CALL!@%#@ AGAIN I HUNG ON, TOLD A MAN I'M ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST, HE'S IN VIOLATION. Rude jackass called saying he was looking for woman with a name close to my wife's maiden name, read wrong SS#, said we'd be getting collection letter for a debt that was NOT ours. I asked who/where they were and he said FMS.com LIARS!!!!

Shortly after we received a blocked call.

The other day we got a call and when I said the person did not live her the lady on the phone asked how long we have had this number. I told her. She told me they just "verified" this number for the person she was calling for. Verified how if that person does not live here?

I told her I was sorry but that person did not live here. Then she said do you know her or where she is?? I said "No" she said okay and hung up ... we are still getting calls.

This number called and we didnt recognize it so we hung up, i looked it up on the internet and i found this website and i called *67 to block the number then i dialed their number them back, they asked for a person that lives at this residence is *67 not blocked for 866 numbers or are they just a stalking company?

I had been ignoring their calls for over a year and a half. I finally got fed up and called them. I spoke with the rudest SOB I have ever dealt with in my life - I could have bitten through nails becaus ehe hung up on me after I requested not to be contacted (if he would have let me explain I could have advised him they were calling for someone I never have heard of before). I called them back and spoke with a supervisor to complain on the guy and also state that I do not want to be called ever again. I could tell they were a collection agency. If there was more I could do about this I would.

These people called my cell phone with a recorded message that said "SMS" and asked me to press a number to talk to a representative OR call them back.

I received a robo-call from this firm. Because a caller can not block caller ID made to toll-free number I called from work. They were vague about the purpose of their business. When pressed for info the operator hung up. I believe they are trolling for names & numbers which they in turn sell. Don't call them from you home phone! I joined the Do-Not-Call registry today.

Just in case, there is also another FMS that you should be aware of. This is the collection arm of the US Department of the Treasury.

They collect anything and everything that is owed to the fed-gov such as back taxes, child support, student loans, etc. However, to get placed with these folks requires a great deal of "defaulting" by the borrower. Also, these folks are generally professional and courteous and do not resort to thug tactics. Hey, they have time, money and real horsepower behind them - they do not have to come across as Guido & Guido.

I have received calls from the Thugs at FMS and I do not owe anyone nor am I in any type of default - YET - I still get calls from these folks and they DO NOT LISTEN!

Calls and calls just asking to call that phone number.

Got a a rude phone call looking from a man looking for my mom. i told him she does not live here and he was relentless and refused to believe me and would not leave me alone until i would give her info. of course i did not and eventually hung up in frustration. i called back to speak with a supervisor and i blocked my number but they said i was my mom but read me back a bogus number. i spoke with a supervisor and complained and she was almost as bad as the first guy and said that my mom taught me well since i wouldn't give her my mom's info either. wow! good group.

Has anyone called this 866 number and noticed any charges on your bill? I posted on here days ago but just now decided to call this number and the person that answered put me on hold. But shortly after, the "manager" came on the line. He was very sarcastic, like anyone who works for a collection agency. Everything I said he would have a comeback even when I explained to him that all the information he has about me has been mistaken identity. I told him this was a scam and he said, "Ohhh, your calling me a lier,well, I have submitted it that you can't write a check at any Wal-Mart or any store that uses the electronic service". I told him that I know he's been taught to say all of that because they're running a scam and then I hung up. I called the Wal-Mart back and they said they would call FMS. But anyways I started thinking, I wonder if I was charged for that call? Do 866 numbers charge?

This company is known as Financial Management Services located in Oklahoma. Just another collection agency of some sort. Someone gave my home phone as a message phone for them. FMS said they needed to talk to this person for a PERSONAL MATTER. I requested they would take my name and number out of the system.Wait and see how that goes.

I have never received a message from these people. It is now 12:30 pm and I have rceived 6 calls from this number already! It is really starting to make me worry.

these people called me today, the only message I got was "please stay on the line it's important we speak with you", I found this sight then did some more research on the number, the business is FMS state out of tulsa ok. another number that was listed for this is 918-971-3112, but it never listed what kind of business it was

Caller ID stated "unknown number". Recorded message says "to call 1-866-574-0156" and that "this is not a sales call" and that "this call is from FMS INC"... The calls happen every week and we'd like them to stop! We will also NOT call the number for fear of getting charged for something. They should be prosecuted!

I received a letter from FMS INC. stating that they are a collection agency. They claim that I had a returned check that the merchant had placed with them for collection. They claim that I wrote this check at a WAL-MART NO. 5288. I researched this and discovered that this WAL-MART is in Seagoville, TX, (a place I've never been). They claim that the check no. is 2395 (a check I've never written). And they way that it was addressed is how my name is on my driver's license (first name, maiden name, and married last name). The way my check would be is my husband's name, my name, then our last name. Also, we have not been at our new address for very long and is this is a returned check from the past then it would have my old address on it. Anyway, I called the WAL-Mart and the person I spoke with said she would file a complaint because numerous people have called her saying the same thing. Now, I just received a call from this number 8666740156 and di not recognize it on my caller id. Isn't it weird that I entered this phone number on the internet and this website came up? Has anyone else figured out who FMS is and what they are up to? I've reported them to the BBB and to the Texas Attorney General but they are located out of Tulsa Oklahoma.

I had a missed call from this number and a message with a voice that goes, "it is important that we speak with you, please stay on the line," then after a while a man gets on "hello?" They probably think I hung up on them.

A recorded message is left to call the number regarding a personal number. FSA is the company?? When you call they will not tell you what the company is and want the number you are calling from. I refused. They said I will continue to get calls.

Calls and calls but never leaves a message

Caller ID said unavailable, I called back and a machine answered FMS, please hold, so I hung up. Never heard of them.

Just wondering who this is.
