How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Dudley was the name and yes, he was a DUD. He asked for job verification for some person I never heard of. I asked him what company he was from and he said he would not give it to me because of privacy issues. I told him I would not transfer him to HR without the name of the company. He said OK rudely and hung up. 20 seconds later he called again and said "OK" and hung up. Like I wouldn't recognize a his voice. I tried calling the number and it is just a fast busy signal.
Shows up as unavailable. Tells my receptionist he needs an employment verification but has never left a message when the called is transferred to me. I'm glad to return a "real" employment verification if they leave a message. I think they're trying to track someone down that works here. They call several times a day sometimes.
calls several times a day does not say anything then the one time they did they got an attitude because i didnt want a "fixed rate on my gas bill" when i call beack noone says anything
They say they are cpd, don't know who that is, but they say it is important to call them.
Well, they called 3 times in a row again( within 5 minutes of each other ). This time, twice, the caller asked for someone that doesn't work here. Just like before. The 3rd time, the caller asked for someone else, and stated "That is _____'s Supervisor."
I said, " I can put you into a voicemail, but unless it is an emergency, you will not get that supervisor live. You can leave him a message, however, our legal department will be informed if you leave another financially personal message in a voicemail box that others can hear. So, it is your choice, what do you want to do?"
The caller said " I can leave a message, its MY business."
I said " Okay. just warning you about the policies of that department. And by the way, you are being recorded right now. Please hold while I transfer you to that voicemail box."
Guess what? No message was left. LOL.
This is crazy.
This number just called me 3 times in a row, within 20 seconds of each other.
Asking for an employee that doesn't work here. Yet they called RIGHT back.

Called at 6:15pm and then hung up after first ring...callback resulted in 'please respond or visit our website' with no other information given.

They hung up when my machine answered.
