Long political organizing message from "Bill at 202-682-8102" to join a lunch rally in Mokena IL Sept 8th to support a "get real" energy policy -- or, at least don't let 'em raise taxes on the poor oil and gas industry. Free food and drinks! Bring your friends! C'mon -- who needs this stuff?

Prerecorded call, asks EXTREMELY tilted questions about an energy tax increase. Uses rhetoric to try and persuade you into a position against energy tax increases. Though my position is the same as that of this political group, I disagree strongly with the way they go about trying to persuade voters. As stated by others, you can call back and press "1" then enter your phone number, then the pound symbol to be added to the no call list. I'm not sure if this works, since I only just went through the process. I will report back soon with either my success or annoyance.

Did not answer the call, but called the number back. Recording said "Thank You for calling. If you want to be on our no call list, please press 1." When you press 1 you get a busy signal. We already are on the no call list.

RECORDED CALL ASKING OPINION ON ENERGY TAX INCREASE

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
